Orlando City claimed another big road victory in a difficult place for visitors to get wins, and the Lions did it with only one shot on target all night on Wednesday. Duncan McGuire's strike late in the first half held up and the hosts didn't look particularly threatening after the opening moments of the second half thanks to a cool, calm, and collected Orlando City side that bossed the midfield, thwarted the Nashville attackers, and frustrated the hosts all evening — mostly by keeping the ball and not giving the Tennessee-based club a chance to unleash its lethal counterattack. We break down the match and another big three points against an Eastern Conference contender, presenting our unanimous pick for Man of the Match. Jake Catanese from The Blazing Musket jumped on with us to tell us about the chaos that's been going on in New England in the wake of Bruce Arena's exit as coach of the Revolution. The Revs may be a bit discombobulated since the coaching change, but they still have Carles Gil and you can probably expect Gustavo Bou to play as well. Big thanks to Jake for both his Revolution knowledge and his friendship. Our mailbagbox was jam packed! We were asked about Junior Urso, Orlando City's all-time Best XI, The Marvels, future Designated Player picks, and much more. Remember, if there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the show, just ask us by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. After touching briefly on the Lions on the nominee lists for the MLS end-of-season awards, we turned our attentino toward New England, presenting our key matchups for Saturday's game and our score predictions. It's another massive Eastern Conference battle heading into the international break. Here's how No. 381 went down: 0:15 – Winning ugly is still winning. And hey, Wednesday wasn't even that ugly if you like good defense. 14:40 – Jake Catanese jumps on with us and gives us the perspective of the New England Revolution fan. 33:06 — Our mailbagbox has never been this full before, plus our key matchups and predictions for Saturday. New England defeated the Montreal Impact 1-0 with a goal from Gustavo Bou in the 56'th minute. Theory Henry took a knee for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. The San Jose Quakes take on the Seatle Sounders tonight on ESPN at 6 pm PST Here is the updated bracket for the MLS IS BACK tournament Cabrillo College baseball alumni Clayton Andrews has been added to the Milwaukee Brewers 60-man player pool, yesterday according to Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors. Andrews has been nasty through two seasons of AA and lower baseball striking out 12.8 batters per nine innings, with a 1.016 WHIP. (Talk about what whip is) The 5'6” lefty reliever also contributes as an outfielder. In his minor league career, he has played the field in 74 games with 69 plate appearances, during which he hit for a .333 average. This could make players who can do both infinitely more value in the COVID era. Normally baseball can source the active minor leagues for talent that is regularly seeing live-action. That won't be the case this year, so these 60 player pools have to be stoked with players they can trust to stay involved and working. I had a great interview with Clayton, I think I may finally release it here. The Blue Jays have announce that they are moving one of baseball's future stars to first base, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet (via Twitter). Last year little Vlad committed 17 errors in 94 starts at third base. This move isn't a surprise, he wasnt going to win a gold glove at third and the wear and tear on first basemen is minimal. Buster Posey has announced that he will opt out of the 2020 season, citing that he and his wife have recently adopted twin sisters born prematurely who are currently still in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. President of baseball ops Farnham Ziedi and manager Gabe Capler have voiced their full support of Posey's decision. The Giants will be fine. If this crazy thing goes off after all, this forces the orginizations hand to call up Joey Bart. Bart, a former Harwich Mariner in the Cape Cod summer league, through two seasons in the minors has hit for a .284 average with a .875 OPS. He also has some pop with 29 home runs and 29 doubles in 517 at bats. Thats 275 total bases on 147 hits. For more on this read Kery Crowely's excellent piece in the Merc. Six States One Podcast - A Show About The New England Revolution

If the Revs do make a return to the playoffs in 2019, Gustavo Bou’s blistering, left-footed strike in the 86th minute Saturday against the Chicago Fire may be seen as a pivotal impetus. New England went up early in the 17th minute when Brandon Bye found a streaking, untouched Wilfried Zahibo in the box to put the Revs up, 1-0. Chicago battled back in the 41st minute off a set piece that lead to a questionable goal from Francisco Calvo, who looked offside, but beat keeper Matt Turner with header near the left post. The 2-1 win was enough to keep the Revs above the red line and in sixth place, and created some much-needed space between chasing Orlando SC, but it felt almost as if the Boys in Blue may have stolen three points at home. We talk about it with Julian Cardillo, of Pro Soccer USA. The Huot 8k predicts an uphill ride for the Revs from here on out and it continues this weekend when New England hosts Toronto FC, who remain just one point behind them on the Eastern Conference Table. Hi soccer fans! We didn't forget you, we're just coming at you a day later than usual. Mike was too busy celebrating his birthday with his family. Where are his priorities!? Now that we're back, we turn our attention to the latest MLS headlines, with lots of news coming from Chicago ... er ... I mean, Bridgeview. The Fire have a memo of understanding with the village to terminate their lease. They also traded Mo Adams to Atlanta for $100k in GAM. They pay to move and dump a fan favorite, typical Fire. Elsewhere , New England Revolution's new DP signing Gustavo Bou has a goal in his debut game. Will this put the Revs into the playoff picture? They still have a long way to go, but this offensive injection certainly helps. Meanwhile, around the league: Teams on the Rise Minnesota United FC - 2 wins away from a trophy. What will they do with all this momentum!? San Jose Quakes - They just keep taking points, and a Cali Clasico victory over LA Galaxy is the cherry on top of their recent form Teams on the Fall Chicago Fire - Last three results: losses to SKC, FCC, and a draw to the Crew. Yet Paunovic and Rodriguez still have jobs. DC United - If they're not careful. they could be in the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoffs in a hurry. US Open Cup Predictions Nick: Portland over Atlanta - These are the two best teams left in the tournament. Atlanta is playing the best, and Portland has all the goal-scoring power needed to keep pace with the Five Stripes. Mike: Minnesota over Atlanta - The Loons continue their fine form, keep up momentum, and on the backs of some stellar individual performances, bring home their first trophy.
