It NEVER ends well
We have all had it, and let's face it. It NEVER goes away. We work in a ctlclical business that can give great joy and elation and the next day drive you to drink. The ups and downs of dealing with Imposter Syndrome and realizing you can only deal with it one way... thanks Aleesha Bake for the drop this week!

Welcome to The Wealthy Mujer Podcast & Community! ----more---- Hello My Wealthy Mujeres! I want to start by saying that this topic always trips my clients up. In the beginning they think I'm freaking crazy and then after a few times of repeating myself - they stop thinking I'm crazy (or maybe NOT so crazy) and they get deep clarity on the subject. Here is what I tell my clients: You have this huge misunderstanding that you think Tomorrow actually comes. It NEVER does. Tomorrow stays in the future and you never get to live in it. I love the faces of shock and a little fear in their eyes like "what the heck is Marisol saying that Im going ot die today so tomorrow won't come?" but NO that is soooo far from what I'm trying to do by saying tomorrow never comes. You aren't alone, we are all humans on this earth living a collective experience I'm sending you so much love, so much light and so much safety so you know, no matter what, someone is always holding you. I'm honored to do that for you. ✨ Book a free clarity call today so you can start taking action on your goals!

Haven't these women learned their lesson yet? They canNOT - we repeat, CANNOT! - go on a trip with the menfolk. Even a short weekender. It NEVER works out well. Unfortunately, they decide to head up to North Georgia and take us on the painfest with them. Fortunately, we can distract ourselves discussing the various and sundry offensive ways they talk about the locals. (We'll also do a “Nikki's Nibbles” called “Wild Dinner”, in honor of the ladies' dinners at the local bar.) Come back later this week for “Extra Sugar”, where we'll talk about the cultural moment underpinning this episode - the movie “Deliverance.”
Your listening experience is extremely important to us with that being said please forgive Kristine's audio track. We apologize and will continue to work to improve your overall experience. I was told I had HPV 16 and that's what had caused my cancer. I Had a colposcopy, got it lasered & was good to go. I was supposed to have semi annual paps but didn't go. I had 5 babies (two after the first diagnosis) and got wrapped up in life and never made Pap smears a priority. I didn't know it was important.. I didn't go get a Pap after my last daughter was born. After four years of not getting a Pap smear, I went in in September 2020..i had a positive pap and dysplasia was found.they did a colposcopy and biopsy. Staged me at 3b. I did a leep procedure. I went through two rounds of chemo (Carboplatin and paclitaxel) and internal/external radiation. And they took me back very quick to get a total hysterectomy. The next pet scan showed two of my pelvic lymph nodes were being effected. So I had a second surgery.. I got para-aortic lymph nodes dissection. A week after that surgery I went to the hospital for pain and they found out I had an internal secondary hemorrhage. They did a surgery for packing and vault suturing. I also required a blood transfusion. (I'm anemic anyways) Following that I had surgery for a cuff tear that required a revision. After that I developed cuff cellulitis infection. I was hospitalized with Iv antibiotics. I got my last a pet scan in April 2021 and The surgeries were successful to get rid of the cancer. My scan was clear. I had to go in every 3 months for a check up scan (CT or PET) my husband got out of the military and we moved from California to Michigan to buy our first house. I set up my follow up appointment. It NEVER crossed my mind that the cancer could be back.. I was determined and had plans to live life cancer free. Due to my Covid symptoms they called me and read to me my results. I had a 5.6 cm tumor in my pelvic/abdominal wall cavity. Biopsy came back cancerous. I started chemo right away. They sent me to a surgeon. He took me back for my 6th surgery. Performed Debunking & small bowel resection. Tumor was removed en bloc, with 2 segments of small bowel. The surgeon anticipates 3-5 more surgeries. After that, I had went to the ER for breathing struggles and they had found a nodule on my left lung. I just got a biopsy recently and am waiting for my results. I also go talk to the surgeon next week to discuss more surgeries. In the meantime i have gotten Covid (for the second time) I've have had to wear a 24 hour heart rate monitor. I have severe vertigo and was passing out. After hitting my head numerous times, they Diagnosed me with post concussion syndrome. The dr found out why it was happening and diagnosed me with POTS..and I have a vitamin b 12, vitamin d, magnesium and potassium deficiency which I am taking medicine for now. I'm already anemic and have needed multiple blood infusions through the last couple years.I'm just happy and thankful to be at home right now with my family instead of living in the hospital._____________________________________The CUBE and OOLER systems are two really cool gadgets that fit over the top of your mattress and use water to control the temperature of your bed. I used to have a cake business. Before I would start making the cake I'd sketch out my vision of how it would look. It NEVER turned out exactly how I'd originally pictured it. Life is a lot like that. We have a vision of what we expect our day, week, year and life to turn out like and it never goes exactly the way we think. That's what makes life fun, the unexpected twists and turns. In this episode I'm reminding you to learn to dance with the ebbs and flows of life. In Episode 113, Quinn asks: What can we learn from plants? The answer, it turns out, is: A whole heck of a lot. Our guest is the wonderful and way overqualified Dr. Beronda Montgomery -- PhD, writer, researcher, scholar, and author of https://www.berondamontgomery.com/lessonsfromplants/ (“Lessons from Plants.”) Dr. Montgomery’s dedicated her work to understanding how individuals are impacted by their environment. Life as a human is hard. I mean, that’s why we open every episode with the question, “Why are you vital to the survival of the species?” — because it so often feels like that survival is in question. But imagine, if you will, being a plant — you think being stuck inside the past year sucks? Try being the fiddle leaf fig you one-clicked from Bloomscape in 2019! It NEVER gets to go outside. Plants are just out here, stuck in the ground, living entirely at the whim of a constantly changing, and often harsh, environment. Still, they go on and flourish, despite everything. Listen in to find out all the incredible lessons we can take away from the plants all around us -- from being a team player, how to persevere through adversity, and even being a better mentor. Bonus: Live Channeled Song - "Show Yourself the Love You've Always Wanted to Know" I recorded this live this morning as I've been doing a new style of meditation lately (actually it's not new, I just stopped for awhile and started again, you know how it goes) where I get in a meditative state and let a message pour through me through music. I decided to record this morning's session. Since it was so helpful to me I figured perhaps it will serve you too. Cheers to life, darling. Lyrics (or at least my best understanding of what they are lol): Let go of your sadness Don't you know, it wasn't meant to be Let go of the baggage It's time for you to break free In fact, you were always free. Let yourself know: there's nothing more important to you And you're ready to show yourself the love you always wanted to know It's time for you to let it show There was a time I thought I had to have "luck" or "no luck" Now I see the sun! It's always been shining on me...sometimes I just had my eyes closed; closed to the light But that never meant it wasn't there. Never meant it was night. It NEVER meant it was night. I once thought it was that sadness would always be with me But I just misunderstood Now I know I'm never alone...and I gotta say, oh babe, it feels so good! What's Your Standard? Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! Thomas Joyner here with BOP. I want to talk about culture a bit today. How do you protect it, nurture it, and build it on purpose? I was sitting in on a coaching meeting the other day and a business owner was talking about experiencing an employee fly off the handle in a business meeting. There was someone they worked with in the room and the employee dropped an f-bomb towards the other guy in a heated discussion. Nothing was said to address the behavior at the moment, but the question was posed to our team... what do we do about that? We asked a few more clarifying questions, but at the end of the day, we knew this couldn't be tolerated. You can't live that emotionally and expect others to continue to do business with you. That's what is so important about culture. A great quote came to mind that a friend had shared with me months back and it's this…” What you allow in your presence, IS your standard.” I'll say that again, what you allow in your presence is your standard. It's that important! In essence, by saying nothing when the employee dropped an f-bomb, you're not explicitly cheering them on, but you are subtly giving your approval of their behavior. You're saying “I watched this happen and that is fine by me” when you stay silent. Now we went back to the businesses Vision story and looked at their culture section. We asked the question if this is the culture you wrote down...the one you want others to see and experience, can this behavior be tolerated? The answer was a quick and decisive, NO! Ok, so let's put a plan in to talk about this with your employee. Now, this was the first time they had ever blown up like this. So, it was a great time for the owner to check in and see if there was something else going on at home or something going on that day. It's a PERFECT time to nurture the culture of your business with a personal touch. Your employees aren't just soulless, emotionless chess pieces for you to move around, but are real people with real lives! They've got to be cared for and known. So, what the business owner did was set up a meeting and lean in. Not take their hands off. Not condemn the person, but condemn the action as a way to care about them AND the culture of the business. Casting vision for how he will see him in the future and pushing him to realize that potential! Said another way, how you allow your employees to act, treat one another, treat other businesses IS your culture. It's the little memories that other businesses point towards to decide who they want to work with. It's what's said about your business at a casual lunch that either propels someone to call you or sends them to the next person on their contact list. It has to be fought for! So, you have to ask yourself. What am I allowing to be said, acted on, or accomplished in my presence or business that is slowly becoming the standard. Culture isn't created or destroyed all at once. It's a series of tiny corrections along the way to arrive at a destination. Use your Vision...use your mission statement...use your core values to put up barriers to keep yourself on track towards your culture goal. It NEVER just happens… Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving...as always if you want to see more of what we do, head on over to mybusinessonpurpose.com and check us out! Few people these days can claim to have found BOTH personal contentment and professional success. Sadly, they seem to be opposites on a spectrum where both cannot be experienced at the same time. It sounds like a panacea, but we all want it just the same. My guest on this episode has walked down both ends of that continuum. He’s come through some hard situations that would break many people. But through it all, he’s found a way to set his compass daily and fuel a life that matters. Danny Farrar is the CEO of Soldier Fit, a fitness program birthed out of his experiences in life and as a member of the U.S. military. It focuses on providing a family atmosphere where each “troop” helps push every member to reach his or her personal goals. In this conversation, you’ll hear Danny describe the difficult circumstances of his early life, how the military became his first turning-point, and how a terrible transition into civilian life opened the door to the opportunity that became Soldier Fit. Pay close attention to Danny’s advice about creating your own “Daily Defense” routine. It’s the type of thing I want these episodes to reveal, so take good notes and put his advice to work. Highlights from this episode Adoption, molestation, and struggling through high school [2:49] Military service and a poor transition into civilian life [3:30] Beginning the Soldier Fit training program [6:01] Using adversity to clarify your purpose and how you will get there [8:50] Balancing loyalty to your team with the harsh reality of your P&L [11:56] Advice for those grinding it out daily regarding maintenance of personal priorities [14:06] Three lessons from a recent Facebook post Danny authored [20:57] An inspiring example of why you can’t let your history shape your future We all experience difficult circumstances in life. There’s no getting around that fact. But some people seem to push through them and overcome in spite of the setback. Danny is one of those people. He was an adopted child who struggled to find himself. Pile on top of that the fact that he was molested by family members, became a chronic over-eater and struggled academically in high school, and you can see that he was on a very destructive path that many of us would struggle to change. But that was just the beginning of his struggles. He joined the military and learned a number of valuable skills, but transitioned out of the military poorly. He was evicted, wound up homeless, and attempted suicide. After being locked up in the psych ward for treatment, he developed a deep desire to change his life. Soldier Fit is one of the outgrowths of that struggle. But more importantly for this podcast are the lessons Danny learned regarding healthy relationships and how to maintain happiness in spite of circumstances. There are three types of people: quitters, campers, and climbers Danny tells the story of how he learned that he had a choice in life, a choice to quit, to settle for less than he was capable of, or to keep climbing to become a better version of himself. He characterizes these choices as becoming a quitter, a camper, or a climber. The interesting thing though is that he tells the story in the context of a failed relationship. His first marriage ended in divorce and Danny feels that the lack of similar ambition is what led to its demise — and in his mind, there was nobody to blame for that incongruence but himself. Will you be a quitter, a camper, or a climber? Danny’s story can help you see how each of them manifest themselves and his example of becoming a climber can help you choose a better path for yourself. Listen and let Danny’s story encourage you to become more, so that you can build relationships that matter. Your “Daily Defense” is vital for your health as an entrepreneur One of the most intriguing things to me is that every entrepreneur who is successful in both life and business does so intentionally. It NEVER happens by accident. I want to hear those stories and Danny shares a great one on this episode. He says that every entrepreneur — or every person for that matter — needs to develop what he calls a “Daily Defense.” It’s an intentional focus on making deposits into four key areas of life. Those four areas are Relational Health, Financial Health, Mental Health, and Physical Health. He points out that your focus on these four areas should be ongoing but flexible. It’s not required that you invest the same amount of attention in each one every day, but that something is done for each, every day. He says, “If you allocate to those every day, you’ll find that it works out.” Listen to hear more ways Danny has implemented this mindset into his daily life and use it as fuel to build a Daily Defense of your own that works for you. Also on the Tempo label. John Henry Kurtz - Drift Away (1972) A pretty good original version! Chad and Jeremy - Homeward Bound (1966) The first release of this song. Bob Kayli - Small Sad Sam (1961) Alias of Robert Gordy, Barry Gordy's brother. On the Tamla label. this is one of about 7,000 answer songs to "Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean. He's still selling you pork. Bobbi Blake - My Panties (1978) Song-poem. Bobbie Gentry and Skitch Henderson for the National Guard (1969) Dottie West - My Big John (1961) Laurel Near - (In Heaven) Lady in the Radiator Song (1977) From Eraserhead, the strangest movie I've ever seen. It NEVER disappoints. Isadore Fertel - I Am Woman (1973) Isadore Fertel was Tiny Tim's protege. He identified as female long before "transgender" was an understood term. He released one record on Toilet Records, which was Tiny Tim's short lived label in the 1970's. Isadore Fertel - Susan B (1973) Jimmy Dean - Little Bitty Big John (1962) Even Jimmy Dean tried. John Kongos - He's Gonna Step on You Again (1971) Pretty obscure song that later became a hit for Happy Mondays. That's Happy Mondays. Cited in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first song to ever use a sample. I'm not Bez!! Jack Kittel - Psycho (1974) I Still Love You - The Seven Souls (1967) Bob Welch, later of Fleetwood Mac and suicide on guitar The Lumpen - Free Bobby Now (1970) Stonemen - No More (1966) Black Magic! - Faces on the Bus/Vacant Lot/Pershing Square/Before It's Done/Echoes Of Love (1970)
Interested in a lesson in white privilege? Oh good. I’ve got just the person to talk to, my friend Shanterra McBride. A badass Texan educator that I’ve known since I was a tween. She's my sister's bestie, and they've worked together for years trying to bring justice and dignity to schools and kids all over the country for decades. I'm starting with someone that I know, well, that can help me have this conversation because even though I am a liberal NYC person who believes that they are consistently doing their best, I know I can do better. Furthermore, embarrassingly, before talking to her, I actually didn’t really consider myself a white person. Yes, yes I know, this could sound crazy. But growing up Jewish, I never considered myself in alignment in any way with the blood soaked hands of the original sinners that built this country. If anything I kind of thought of myself as living in allegiance with the black community. But what I've come to find out is that I have been benefiting from racism and slavery since I was born. Who knew! Yes I am embarrassed. Trust me. Somehow I thought my personality, my ability and need to say whatever I wanted to whoever I wanted (especially to people in positions of power) was all just part of my internal charisma. It NEVER dawned on me that it was because of white privilege. The fact that I can do and say the kinds of things I have said to the police without fear and walk away unharmed, and without a record, is insane. So I bring to you a somewhat awkward (on my part) and informational conversation with someone who's got many messages to share, but first and foremost that white people need to stop asking their black friends what to do. You have a supercomputer in your hand at all times, you want to find ways to educate yourself, ask google! You want to protest and find ways to show solidarity? GOOGLE. You want to donate money to causes in the Black Lives Matter space? Once again, google is here to help all white people stop outsourcing the actual work all of us need to do to be better allies to all communities. Oh yeah, and just because you posted on social media does not mean you are doing enough. #CarynKopp has been opening doors by phone for her business clients for nearly 3 decades. She has built a team of experienced door openers, accumulating 300+ years of lessons from cold calling. We discuss why the phone is still relevant and an incredibly powerful route to market. We role play various common scenarios and offer up some better alternatives to traditional prospecting strategies. The phone is an incredibly powerful sales tool which is underused and underestimated. Its power lies in the intimacy a phone call creates. The buyer is letting you right into their personal space, speaking directly into their ear. Many salespeople have grown up with the myth that prospecting by phone doesn't work any more. This is a bullshit fabrication of social media "gurus" trying to peddle their programmes to suckers. Bad telephone prospecting doesn't work. It NEVER worked. A great prospecting mindset, with great technique and the right intent can be super effective. And as part of a mix of prospecting activities, it is even more powerful than just cold calling alone. We discuss why so many sales managers are incapable of training and coaching their salespeople to use the phone and reach a depressing conclusion which offers great managers a fantastic chance to get even further ahead. Sales Training with Nick Bramley Sales training is provided to listeners by Nick Bramley on The Next 100 Days Podcast. Nick is founder of Impactus Group and helps organisations around the world to improve their sales performance. Nick has been involved in sales and sales training for his entire career. He's competitive by nature. Nick has developed teams. His philosophy is to keep it simple, communicate well and get people on board with clear messages. Due to his philosophy, to be a good fit for Nick's business you need to be growth oriented and have ambition. Similarly, you have to want to make a difference and not be a plodder (by definition, if you are reading this and listening to the podcast, you cannot be a plodder, but just in case!!). Sales Strategy The first piece of sales training that Nick provides is anchored around this diagram: Nick gets asked to close business. But Nick finds that the problem is not always closing for example. Nick looks at sales in the whole. Start with the strategy. Who am I targeting Why have I chosen that sector How am I going to get at them Where are they based When is the best time to target them? As a result of all these questions you can get your strategy right. Cover all the steps, not just closing or the first step. Have you forgotten where YOUR sweet spot is? Another important aspect of sales is understanding where your sales sweet spot is. For this, start with: who, what, why, where, when, how. Look at the next 100 days! http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Nick-says-you-should-plan.mp4 Nick says the reason people struggle with sales is where they are trying to complicate it. compelling product interesting price capable of generating interest getting sales over the line Key Messages Here's how to remember the WHO WHAT WHERE WHY WHEN HOW - especially if you like rugby. Five naked bottoms on a rugby post. FAB It's very basic. But take this test: Give me 5 reasons why I should buy from your business. It NEVER fails to bring out features. If you tried it, how many features do you have? Features a feature is something ABOUT your business. Such as, how long you've been established, where you are based, how many staff you've got, the product range that you provide, great customer service, we are excellent at what we do, we're technically capable, experienced, capable. Not only are they givens but they are pedestrian. Nobody BUYS features. Advantages and Benefits advantage or benefit - what is the advantage to the client? People are buying probably 5 or 6 advantages or benefits: improve performance reduce risk financial incentive - more revenue or reducing cost operational advantage - shortening your process compliance - nobody buys this on its own, an advantage but secondary personal - busy people need to have their work and lives made easier If you start with "I'm ringing to help performance in a particular part of your business", that is better than talking about one of your features. Enquiry Handling Do not treat every email or phone call as the same. Have a scoring method to establish which are most realistic. Kick out the tyre kickers. People without intent. NEED - driven by requirement. Your tyre has shredded - you have to, you need a tyre. WANT - you're making an analysis of tyres. Your tyres need changing in a couple of months. Timescale and options come into the decision making. Sales people often fail to connect with these people, because they don't have the patience to wait 3 months. Really good sales professionals know they have a good pipeline from the conversations they have had. DESIRE - wouldn't it be great to buy this or that. No budget. They get excited, so it makes the sales person get distracted. Seems like the free-product give away is a good example of desire/no budget. They want something for free,
There's a "shift" that occurs inside when you're changing. Even if you try to ignore it, you cannot lie to yourself. Anytime you feel that internal shift inside-you not only should you pay attention to it; you must HONOR it. It NEVER makes sense in the beginning, but it's a natural part of the process of Awakening, and there’s nothing to fear. The key is to learn how to "go with the flow" and step out into the unknown. This is a beautiful podcast to help ease your otherwise rocky transition into your new season with grace, poise and confidence.
Are you a crammer? I totally used to be.. I'd see I had to be somewhere in 15 minutes, and i'd go into cram mode. I'd frantically stuff in one more load of laundry, send one more email, make one more stop, stuff in 3 more minutes at the gym. It NEVER worked out for me.. the lines at the store were long, traffic was slow and that annoying rainbow circle showed up right when I was about to hit send! I'd was constantly showing up late and stressed. It totally sucked! I was constantly driving too fast to school pickup, showing up right when my favorite yoga class was starting and coming home 15 mins later than I promised my family. I was constantly frantic and stressed. Do you do this? If so, this Podcast Episode is made for you! Also on iTunes. CLICK HERE to listen Once I learned this super simple skill and started doing it everyday, I stopped cramming and actually lost weight and got more done. Best part is I stopped running around like a crazy lady and enjoyed everything way more! Coolest part is it's actually helped me drop weight AND show up on time, calmer and happier! Listen and get more awesome!
It Never too late to start over and try something different. It's better than being stuck. So the question is: When is it the right time to cut it, & When do you knowwhento stay & Work it out?
