Welcome back to the podcast, I'm Jamie Baynes. On this episode, I'm bringing back Keanna, the current esthetician and former Richmond Police dispatcher. I enjoyed talking to her so much, I asked if she could find any other people who wanted to come back with her.. In about two seconds, she shot me a text and said that Dria, a friend of hers, and a dispatcher wanted to come and do an episode. Two former Richmond police dispatchers in one episode? How could I turn that down? I've worked with them for over thirty years and can't imagine doing the job that they do. They have to stay calm when nearly everyone else is in the midst of a crisis, be it a caller or a police officer. I'm not sure that I could do it. And touching on something else that they, as well as another Richmond dispatcher that I've interviewed, Demetria Ross, mentioned was therapy and simply needing someone to talk to. Someone that you can trust. Union to D'Vonne Pickett Jr. Way, we are airing this interview of D'Vonne Pickett Jr. on The AC Podcast from October 8, 2019. The interview took place at Black Dot Underground and was hosted by K. Wyking Garrett. Today's honorary street designation honors the life and legacy of Pickett, who ran The Postman Seattle with his wife Keanna and was an active leader in the community with the CD Panther Football and Cheer program and beyond. The resolution to designate the section of the street, which runs from The Liberty Bank Building to Midtown Square, passed unanimously in the Seattle City Council. In the evening of October 19th, a series of gunshots startled the residents of the 1100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way. When police arrived shortly after, D'Vonne Pickett Jr. was lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries. D'Vonne Pickett Jr. and his wife Keanna are familiar faces throughout the Central District community. When the USPS closed its office in the CD, the two founded The Postman, a shipping and mailing business. In a statement, Mayor Bruce Harrell said that D'Vonne was known for his kindness, determination, and passion for uplifting the Seattle community.

A few moments later and a couple of posts later…  I realized that the pretty face was the pastor and founder!! Wow. Of course, I wanted to find her personal Instagram page to see more of whom I had just discovered. As I look upon her story unfolding in the delight of things chosen to be publicly shared. I was deeply encouraged by the fight, her fight at the goodness of the Lord. Looking at what was exposed was quickly admired and recognized as impact. I was moved and greatly appreciated for willingness and courage to not only be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ; but the light amid her darkness, her community, and the beloved city of Detroit. Cherese shares how through her journey of healing she realized that her trauma led her to a career in social work and service to others. Healing herself inspired her to help heal others, and more importantly all the versions of her little girl. Cherese also spoke about how relinquishing control and finding the strength to rest has been helping her heal as well, and overcoming toxic societal norms regarding overworking and the grind lifestyle. She is a lover of humanity and all things social justice. Cherese has almost a decade of experience providing in-depth psychotherapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups in St. Louis, MO. She is devoted to providing culturally competent care to communities of color, affirmative and ally centered care to LGBTQIA persons, empowering care to those living with chronic illness/pain, and restorative care to PTSD survivors. TRIGGER WARNINGS: *Sexual Grooming* *Child/Adult Relationship* In this episode, Bridget and KeAnna interview Lex. Lex talked about their healing from sexual grooming, and how therapy and their partner are helping them to overcome the trauma and how they were able to get out of a relationship that began by them being groomed when they were a child. Love, acceptance, and grace allowed Lex to realize the inappropriate nature of their relationship and put them on a journey of healing. Now, Lex is sharing their story to raise awareness and save other young lives. Lex is a proud and life long Daytonian, a queer WOC, working as a full time chemist and a part time DJ. Lex is married, has two dogs and enjoys spending time outside, playing board games and throwing axes. Sharing this experience is important to help others heal and know that they are not alone on this journey.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: *Depression and Anxiety* *Childhood Neglect and Abuse* In this episode, Bridget and KeAnna interview April Angel. April talked about her healing from anxiety and depression, and how she used dream interpretation as a guide to heal some deep rooted trauma and unhappiness. She learned from a good friend and her daughter to live joyously by being open minded and allowing herself to live outside of the boxes she had been living in. By seeing the possibilities she set herself free.  April is a dream interpreter, based in Dayton, Ohio who helps spiritual seekers understand their life purpose, discover their gifts and heal early trauma. She had a spiritual awakening in 2012 and began analyzing her own dreams in 2015 after years of searching and finally finding this Holy Grail of self discovery. Destiny led her to an amazing teacher who showed her how to use her dreams to identify her life purpose, spiritual gifts and personal blocks. Scoring an 8 (out of 10) on the ACE's childhood trauma test substantiated her need for a deep journey into healing. She has gone from recurring anxiety and depression to experiencing deeper life fulfillment. April became an impassioned dream interpreter and began converting her skills into services since identifying her spiritual gifts and healing her own core wounds. April uses the Aisling (ASH-ling) Method of dream interpretation in combination with channeling, teaching and counseling to help dreamers dive head first into the life they are meant to be living.
