Prior to running Born To Sell, Mike had 3 distinct careers: software engineering, investment banking, and venture capital. As a software engineer, Mike spent 12 years at several Silicon Valley startups. Two of them went public on NASDAQ: Storm Technology (1994) and General Magic (1997). After that Mike switched to investment banking at Garage.com (now Garage Technology Ventures) where he helped early stage startups raise money from angel investors and VCs. During his 4 years at Garage, Mike read thousands of business plans and was part of the team that helped over 100 startups raise over $300M. Mike switched from investment banking to venture capital in 2002. What are you currently trading?The main market I trade is the 10 Year U.S. Treasury Note which I trade on an active basis using the 144 tick chart. I also trade the Russell 2000 emini futures contract using the 292 share bar chart. Swing trading stocks using options is the third part of my trade plan. I take my entries off both the 195 minute and daily charts. And where are you from?I am from Kalamazoo, Michigan which is a small town 2.5 hours from Chicago. I still reside there to this day. So why did you become a trader?I started trading in 2002 during my freshman year of college. While studying business, I decided to do a research project on the stock market. From that point on, I have been addicted to the financial markets. I love working with numbers and I enjoy the new challenges that trading brings every day. And how did you hook up with NetPicks?I started working for NetPicks during the summer of 2008.
