If you're a longtime listener of this podcast, you will have heard me talk a number of times about the reasons you need to have your legal documents tailored properly for your business. In this episode, I'm talking about one strategy in particular that I believe is key in successfully converting prospects to clients. It's my belief that the first place to start when setting yourself up for success in your business is managing clients' expectations. From the first touchpoint and onboarding through to off-boarding, it's crucial to be really strategic about how your clients experience you and your service. This includes being clear on your messaging when it comes to how you show up on things like social media, on your website and in your marketing. And while those are more obvious areas in which you can create a positive impression on your audience, putting the same amount of time and energy into our legal documents often gets overlooked. Today I discuss how your legals underpin the integrity and authenticity of what you do and how, when aligned with your branding, they create the consistency that will support potential clients' trust in you. You may be surprised at how much people pay attention to what they're signing up to. Whether it's a program, course or mastermind, prospective clients look for assurance that they're safe to sign up or hit subscribe. Being clear that you prioritise your legal obligations and comply with consumer law will show that you're a professional and someone who can be trusted. One way to communicate this is by tailoring your terms and conditions to be consistent with your language and branding. Legal documents do not have to be dull and boring, and in fact can enhance your overall messaging when you put more of yourself into them. There are many ways you can convert prospects to clients but one way is by using text messaging tactics. What are these tactics? In this episode, Matt Baglia talks about this conversion opportunity.  Getting to know Matt Baglia Matt Baglia considers himself as an accidental CEO. He is the co-founder and CEO of SlickText. Over the past nine years, his roles have varied between marketing, sales, development, design, support, and more.  Use text messaging tactics to convert prospects  With SMS, you must get permission before you can text prospects. It's different with emails because a prior business relationship is enough reason for you to start messaging them.  Every prospect needs to opt-in and every single person and message needs to be treated like gold.  B2B gets a little tougher as opposed to B2C when it comes to SMS marketing. There's a lot more catching up in B2B.  In B2C, you always need to bring value to the end consumers. On the B2B side, it's more about knowing and understanding the risks of every outreach, the wants of the customers, and the reasons they'd be willing to let you into their personal network.  SMS marketing works best when you have a subscriber base that wants to continue to receive messages over and over again.   The reason we send text messages is because we care about the person and want to reach out to them.  Segmentation is important to be able to start hyper targeting the prospects based on their interests. Responses are also necessary and as messages come in, it's important to be able to have a one-on-one communication with them.  Think of SMS marketing as an inbound marketing strategy.  Matt's team is developing a feature that's about ready to launch. It's called automated workflow. John Platero is the founder and CEO of the National Council of Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT)which has certified thousands of personal trainers both nationally and internationally.   He has appeared on numerous talk shows and has written articles on personal training and fitness forMuscle & Fitness, Shape Magazine, Muscle Mag, MAX, Oxygen Magazine, Ladies Home Journals, Exercise for Men and Ventana to name just a few. Mr. Platero also authored the N.C.C.P.T.’s basic personal training manual. In 1999, the prolific Platero wrote, produced and was featured in an infomercial,How to Become a Personal Trainer, which aired nationwide on ESPN, Fox Sports, Lifetime, E! Entertainment, MTV, the Learning Channel and VH-1.  His first producing foray, How to Be Financially Successful as a Personal Trainer, has helped many personal trainers start their own business. Since then, he has produced and written over 31 fitness videos and hosted other fitness related infomercials such as the AB Revolutionizer which played here in the US and Europe.   Platero has completed 35 fitness certifications from organizations such as ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NBFE and the NSCA along with the distinction of “Mastery Level” from The Resistance University.
