We're talking about more classic Universal monsters! Let’s get acquainted with Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolfman, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, the whole gang… Specifically, the varied ways they've connected to each other in film. Marvel's Cinematic Universe may have perfected it, but Frankenstein was the original Tony Stark. And he was equally hot. Plus: the scrapped plans for the Dark Universe, and where these characters may be going next! The road to Marvel's Cinematic Universe began here, as we give our brief thoughts on the film.
In the beginning Sony brought forth the first Spider-man, Raimi's Spider-man, and, despite being a little bit creepy, generally, he too was deemed to be good. Sony returned to the Spider-man well twice more, but on the third occasion the well of lucre was poisoned with unnecessary Venom, and the audience did feel that Spider-man 3 was bloated, even the Sandman and Hobgoblin could not save the movie from being underwhelming in the extreme. A very short time following Spider-man 3 Sony attempted to refresh the well. "Lo!" they said unto the audience. "Look thou upon new Spider-man, for he is Amazing!" And the audience did look upon the tall and handsome face of new Spider-man and did say: "Well, maybe not Amazing, but Adequate, definitely." And Sony spake thus: "We cannot call a movie franchise 'The Adequate Spider-man', so we will stick with Amazing." And Sony returned again to the well of lucre, but they did see in the next land that Marvel's well of lucre brought forth the wonders of yon "Cinematic Universe" and they were sore with envy. So when the Adequate... sorry, Amazing Spider-man 2 came forth from Sony's well of lucre it was tainted with envy and mutated by the worn stubs of a failed "Cinematic Universe". Thus did Sony come to Marvel and propose a deal. They offered to return Spider-man (who was just on indefinite loan from Marvel) on a limited basis if they would bless the Spider-man with the water of the "Cinematic Universe". And Marvel did work out the deal with Sony, and they plunged a newly minted Spider-man into a Civil War between the mid-ranking officer of the Americas and the man forged of Iron. The audience did see it and were now Amazed. And Sony and Marvel did turn to the audience and spake thus: "No, this Spider-man is NOT Amazing, he is just Spider-man" and the audience did say: "Well, okay, if you're sure." And Spider-man did have his own movie in Marvel's "Cinematic Universe" which they did call "Homecoming" and Sony gritted their teeth, for the well of lucre did flow. And Spider-man partook in the Infinity War and survived the Endgame of those who Avenge, finally he found himself "Far From Home" and the well of lucre was bountiful for both Marvel and Sony. But Sony, once more overconfident and partaking of the iffy Venom, did snatch back the Spider-man. Marvel offered unto Sony a couple of possible deals but Sony declared them to be not good enough. The fandom saw this sundering of the "Cinematic Universe" and there was wailing, and gnashing of teeth. But Sony did not immediately back down. They spoke to the people and said: "Did we not deliver an averagely good Venom movie? And did we not also deliver unto thee 'Into The Spiderverse' which was much better than anyone expected?" And the people did accept this, but they did not wholly believe Sony could pull this off and they were sore afraid that the next Spider-man movie would be a big pile of poo. Lo! Marvel did offer another bag of money unto Sony, and they also passed secrets amongst themselves. And suddenly Spider-man was back in the "Cinematic Universe" and some people were even a bit disappointed because they had wanted to see what Sony would do. The stout ones, those Kids from the 80s watched upon all of this and shook their ancient heads. "Spider-man should literally be a license to print money," spake Ian. "I know." spake Leo. "People trivialise genre, but it is a lot harder and more complicated than it looks." And Martin Scorsese said nothing further.

Check dan zeker ff Gamescom Freudentaumel Deel 1 hier!

Is liking a movie made by a sexual predator morally unsavory? Well, as many of the fans of the Jeepers Creepers movie franchise are learning, it's a decision you are going to have to make. Along side that, the most recent hit in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, Luke Cage has received criticism for being too black. Is there any validity to that? of course not. and here's why. There are also rumors that there is a new installment in the Blade film franchise on its way, but it seem there is a new daywalker to fear. In 1998, Marvel unleashed a new anti-hero upon the cinematic universe. Born after his human mother was attacked by a vampire, Blade was taken in my his mentor, Whistler, and trained to utilize his gifts in order to take down the vampire regime. Wesley Snipes was the living embodiment of the character, and after three films and a TV series, Blade's role in Marvel's Cinematic Universe has gone cold-blooded. Half-man, half-vampire, all badass. Since the beginning of the new Millenium, superhero films have made a return. We seen successful runs for X-Men and Batman, but nothing has been greater than Disney and Marvel's Cinematic Universe. All of them have been cash cows for Disney and as we are set to jump into Phase 3 of the MCU, the franchise is met with a new villain, the DC Comic Universe and the over saturation of superheroes in media. We discuss this week if too many superhero films will ruin the Marvel franchise and the superhero genre as a whole. We also talk about the effect it will have on comic sales and merchandise. When I was a school boy, Japanese comics were the currency of the day. Whoever came into possession of one volume of Dragon Ball or Saint Seiya would instantly become the most popular kid, at least among the boys. During breaks and on the way home, their friendly discussions and passionate squabbles often centred on whether Vegeta could beat Goku or who among the Knights of the Zodiac was the strongest. Through the exchange of stories and opinions, acquaintances became friends and the manga stories the shared experience of almost an entire generation. Today, if the occasion permits, reference to Dragon Ball or Saint Seiya often brings young Chinese people closer to each other. In the future, young adults around the world will probably have a shared topic when they meet each other for the first time at English corners or a friend's home party, that is Marvel Studio films. Avengers: Age of Ultron, the latest entry in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, garnered 33.9 million dollars on the opening day in China, bringing the total global income close to 1 billion dollars. Like all major blockbusters, the superhero ensemble has become a global phenomenon in spite of itself. For major productions of this scale, the role of a director as an artist often gives way to that of a supervisor, personality and style have to come after the ability to honour deadlines and see through the production process. Director Joss Whedon may have tried to portray each of the superheroes in a different and personal light, but balancing the screen time is no easy job because most of the characters are big shots who deserve a standalone film by themselves. Plus the director often has to surrender to the impulse of creating super-powered spectacles. "Age of Ultron" appears to have improved both in character-building and visual splendour, but if you care to look closer, the improvements are insignificant, if any.First of all, not all character building serves a purpose. For example, when Scarlett Johanson's Black Widow looks into her past tragedies, the revelation hardly propels the storyline. The rift between Ironman and Captain America does move things ahead, but only if you look at the larger picture and the entire storyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for the arch-villain Ultron, the enemy believed to be more powerful and smarter than anything the heroes have ever faced before all but crumbles in front of the half united force of the Avengers. What a waste of James Spader's brilliant voice acting!Surely there is something in these spectacles, since an unprecedented 3000 shots have gone through enhancement during post production. But extended fighting sequences or smooth action choreograph cannot appeal to viewers who doze off. I personally cannot recall what happens to Thor and the Black Widow during their loud business in South Africa, and I'm sure others feel weary too during the gruesome 140-minute sedentary stint. Now these are the things I'll talk about with British co-workers and we'll have a good time agreeing or fighting each other. And I imagine young people from different parts of the world will one day come together and enjoy a conversation about it just as much. For all its imperfections, Marvel Studio movies at least have the benefit of bringing the world together.

Our milestone 30th episode can't be missed!
To mark the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, the final film in Phase Two of Marvel's Cinematic Universe and their first attempt at making films that aren't strictly speaking about superheroes, Joe and Ed decided to see the film and then have a nice old chinwag about it, as well as a more general conversation about Marvel's almost unprecedented success over the last six years. Along the way they talk about what the film's success means for future Marvel movies, why the studio has had such consistent success where other studios have struggled to get their own superhero movies to achieve the same degree of critical and commercial success, and how Chris Finch from The Office is the real star of Guardians of the Galaxy. If you like this more timely approach, and if you're a fan of the show in general, please rate and review it on iTunes.Note: We don't discuss much in the way of specific plot details in this episode, so if you haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet you can listen without fear of it being spoiled. However, there is a slightly spoiler-laced discussion about the film's post-credits scene from 10:40 to 16:13, so if you don't want to know anything about that (relatively minor) aspect of the film, feel free to skip ahead.
It's episode 91 of Constantly Calibrating, which means it's time for change to our usual format! Finally, this week we're launching (planned) monthly debates on the podcast. This month's debate is about the morality of botting, powerleveling, and other potential cheating in online gaming. Drop us a comment if you have your own thoughts on the subject that you would like to share. Also, let us know what you think of the new format!
This week, we discuss the Non-Comic Conspiracy, Mark Millar hate, New Warriors love, favorite Charlton characters. Wonder Woman: Earth One, the return of Batcow, DC's newest round of cancelations, Superman Unchained variants, retailer math, Iron Man 3 week two box office numbers, losing Marvel's Cinematic Universe actors, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and some random comic picks. Starring Ryan Higgins, Brock Sager, Toby Sidler, and Charlie West.
