The Rich Zeolli Show- Hour 4: 6:05p- While appearing on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) slammed the Secret Service for its lack of transparency regarding the assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump. Johnson added that by hiding critical information, Secret Service leadership is fueling conspiracy theories. 6:15pm- Kamala Harris Will Skip Al Smith Dinner. The New York Post Editorial Board writes: “It seems Kamala Harris is so afraid of having to be spontaneous in public, she's skipping this year's Al Smith dinner on Oct. 17. A charity event that raises millions for the city's unfortunate, the dinner has hosted the major-party rivals every four years (with just two exceptions) since 1960, when Richard Nixon dared to join John Kennedy, the first Catholic presidential nominee since Al Smith himself, on Catholic ‘turf.' The candidates are supposed to deliver light jabs at each other in their dueling addresses, which plainly can be written in advance—but the program apparently has too many risks of being called upon for spontaneous reactions for Harris to agree.” You can read the full editorial here: https://nypost.com/2024/09/22/opinion/the-obvious-pathetic-reason-kamala-harris-will-skip-the-al-smith-dinner/ 6:40pm- While visiting Sprankle's Neighborhood Market in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump paid for the groceries of a local mom. He also made sure to leave with a giant bag of popcorn for himself! 6:50pm- Chaos in Philadelphia. Vinny Vella, Ellie Rushing, and Michelle Meyers of The Philadelphia Inquirer write: “Multiple Philadelphia police officers were attacked and their vehicles damaged while trying to break up nearly a dozen illegal car meetups throughout the city late Saturday into Sunday morning, police said, causing mayhem and rattling the nerves of residents in nearby neighborhoods. Investigators said there were 11 large meetups, some of which drew more than 200 cars, as well as a series of other smaller gatherings, scattered throughout nearly every corner of the city, from Northeast to Southwest. The wild scenes unfolded over the course of seven hours.” You can read the full report here: https://www.inquirer.com/crime/car-meet-up-philadelphia-police-20240922.html

This week on Real Talk with Rachael in talking with author Michelle Myers. Michelle is the co-founder of She Works His Way. She is the author of Conversational Commentary on Acts: Gospel Mission Then and Now, Conversational Commentary on Ecclesiastes: Wisdom to Live for Heaven While on Earth, She Works His Way: A Practical Guide for Doing What Matters Most in a Get-Things-Done World, and Famous in Heaven and at Home. You can listen to Michelle weekly with her best friend and ministry partner on the She Works His Way podcast. She and her husband, James, live with their three children in Asheville, North Carolina, where James is the central discipleship pastor at Biltmore Church. Key Points from Our Conversation: Anything we think will satisfy us outside of Jesus will disappoint us 100% of the time. Our sole purpose is to fear God and keep His commandments. The emptiest feeling isn't not getting what you think you need to be happy, it's getting what you wanted and realizing that the Lord is all you need. If you are stuck in a cycle, it's not your responsibility to know how to stop, it's your responsibility to submit it to God so He can stop it. You are not powerful enough to stop the cycle, but for Him, nothing is impossible. God's sovereignty isn't an excuse to lead a passive life. God's plan is for us to be involved with His work in the world while we're in step with the Holy Spirit. When we ignore the limits that God gives us, we limit our worship because our limits reveal our dependence on Him. Overwork and laziness are equal disobedience. God does not work in us reluctantly - it is "for His good pleasure." It is our job to work out our salvation. When we join with Him in the good work He's doing, we reflect the character of God to others. Let's Get Real Practical: Get clear on why you are chasing what you're chasing. This is our second conversation with Michelle Meyers, but this time she brought her friend Somer Phoebus. They just recently wrote a book and also run a company together, both by the same name - She Works HIS Way. You are going to love this conversation and we know you'll find some great takeaways that will impact your life and leadership. Before we jump into their book, I wanted you to hear about Michelle and Somer's background (2:41) It sounds like you created something because you needed it, not to start a business (6:14) Thinking back to your first 18 months - what was the biggest thing you got from that time period personally? (7:29) Let's talk about the topic of freedom. What're your thoughts about freedom and do you see it showing up as a potential idol? (13:37) There's a difference between having freedom and experiencing it. What does that mean to you guys? (18:03) What happens when we're operating from the mindset of wanting to do what God wants us to do but we can't tell what He wants us to do? (22:28) What would you say to the entrepreneur who has achieved a level of success that gives them more time and wonders what they should do now? (29:08) Anyone who is wired as a leader probably struggles with the idea that work = worth. How do you think those connect to each other? (33:23) Your book is constantly combatting the messages that are perceived as true (37:10) As a growth-oriented leader, it can be hard to understand what contentment looks like. What is contentment? (39:44) One of the things I started to pay attention to was that some of the most goal-oriented people I know are also miserable. What is the proper role of goals in the life of a person and business so they can co-exist with contentment? (46:41) How do you evaluate whether something has become an idol? (51:58) One of the chapters in the book is about relationships. Why are adult friendships so important and how do you build them? (55:58) I have to reframe my idea of success when it comes to spending time with people. What is a healthy definition of success for spending time with people? (1:02:00) If someone listening considers their relationship with Jesus as their main thing, what is your encouragement for that person? (1:06:51) Can we close out with a prayer like you do in each chapter of the book? This week on Real Talk with Rachael I'm talking with Michelle Meyers and Somer Phoebus about their new book She Works His Way: A Practical Guide for Doing What Matters Most in a Get-Things-Done World. Michelle and Somer are also moms, wives, women called to work, best friends, and co-leaders of She Works His Way - a discipleship community for working women. Michelle Myers is an author, entrepreneur, and motivator. Michelle launched She Works His Way to pour God's truth into the lives of women in ministry and business. She is the author of Famous in Heaven & at Home. Michelle lives in North Carolina with her husband, two sons, and a daughter. Somer Phoebus is a brick-and-mortar business lover, productivity expert, and pastor's wife. She is part of the She Works His Way leadership team. In addition to an early career in fashion and retail, Somer started and sold two fitness studios. Somer lives in Maryland with her husband and two daughters. Key Points from Our Conversation: Through She Works His Way Michelle and Somer encourage women to filter everything through the gospel by asking how our actions impact the kingdom of God. The community continually reminds members to surrender to Jesus who brings freedom, energy, and excitement. "If you're walking with Jesus, where you are right now is where you're called." – Somer Whatever work you're doing, you are in a mission field. God has placed you there to be His representative to those around you. If you invest in people where you are and behave according to the gospel, it creates curiosity in the hearts of those around you and opens doors to speak truth into someone's life. All women work. Work is not defined by compensation. It's an intentional effort that you take for the purpose of the glory of God. So often we equate balance with perfection, so our pursuit of balance is futile. Give up chasing balance and surrender it to Jesus. When we seek God first, He shapes our desires. “Attempting to make God equal with the rest of your life is going to equal chaos every single time.” – Michelle Never be afraid to ask for help. Leave margin in your schedule to love people. Inspect the things you keep coming back to that keep leaving you dry. Those things steal energy from the things that truly matter. Accept that you probably didn't marry someone exactly like you, so you'll likely have conflict. It's not personal, they love you first and they see things differently. You don't have to defend yourself. It's a gift to have someone who sees things differently. Lower your expectations of your spouse every day. We always expect more than we should. Marriage can't be forced; it has to be organic. Have fun with each other and be intentional about it. There isn't a 5 step process to fix your marriage. It'll look different for everyone. Too much pressure on marriage is what usually breaks it. If you are juggling all the things, remember Matthew 6:33 ("Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.") and let it take root in your soul. If you've been walking with Christ for a while, encourage someone who hasn't by extending grace where they're expecting too much of themselves and point them back to Jesus. Let's Get Real Practical: We get to decide who or what gets our energy. As a physical reminder, consider getting a piggy bank and write the word "energy" on it. Any time someone asks you to do something, look at it as more than time, but energy. Ask yourself if the return was worth the energy you spent on the task. Did it leave you feeling drained? “I've realized that hiring smarter, more capable people and putting them around me, has been the best risk that I've ever taken” - Michelle MyersOne of the biggest challenges in business, and especially for entrepreneurs is the people equation. It’s risky to have people be part of the business you’re working so hard to build, especially when you’re looking to others have contact with your customer base. It’s also turned out to be a great business model for Michelle Meyers, who started a business out of necessity and grew into a model that serves the needs of both employees and customers. She is the Founder and CEO of Pink Callers, an administrative support solution that assigns customer service rockstars to support home service businesses remotely. Michelle also has a podcast with three other women entrepreneurs called Fight Club 4 Business. Hear her tips on entrepreneurship and hiring on this week’s Champions of Risk podcast. In Episode 25 we talk to Michelle Meyers and Ryan Leack about the issues facing part-time/ contingent faculty--especially during a global pandemic and a time of economic uncertainty.
As women, we are proud to say that we take care of our husbands, our kids, our homes, our jobs, our churches and many other important things. But if we say we take care of ourselves we feel guilty and selfish. Today I not only give you permission to practice self-care, but I also encourage you to move it to the top of your priority list. You cannot pour from an empty cup, so you need to prioritize self-care to be able to care for others.Jennifer Zumbiel, of Togather Moments, interviewed me about self-care and how that fits into the Direction Not Perfection mentality. The fit is seamless. Getting proper nutrition and staying fit are a part of taking care of yourself. If you have barriers to self-care, they are also affecting your health. If guilt and fear of being selfish are keeping you from doing something for yourself, consider the question, “Is it helping or hindering my life?”, posed in Famous in Heaven and at Home by Michelle Meyers. If you can answer “helping” than it is important to make time for it in your day. You will know it is right if it “feels well with your soul”. The benefits you get from doing something for you, will ripple into the other parts of your life. You may not see results right away, but you will know it is worth fighting for. Guilt will go away if you can look back and see that the efforts you put into yourself have made you a better person. By taking care of yourself and making yourself the best you can be, you will have energy to pour onto others. That would give you the opportunity to be a great wife, a great mom, a great friend, a great career woman and/or a great daughter. But remember, you can’t be all of them in the same day. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We are human, we need grace and love. By letting others know we aren’t perfect and could use their help, we give them a chance to fill their own cup by helping. Ask for help and enjoy the ripple. The word for the day is “permission”. Think about making it your “word of the year”. Give yourselfPermission to take care of yourself.Permission to ask for help.Permission to carve out time in the day for fitness or nutrition.Permission to be a role model for your kids so they understand self-care.Permission to not be perfect, or everything to everyone every day.Permission to slow down.Ask for help, go for a walk, listen to something fun or positive, give yourself 10 minutes each morning to organize your day and/or meditate. Take time for you. If guilt creeps in throw it back. Choose to do things throughout the day that ultimately “help not hinder” your life because you are fighting to be the best you that you can be.Resources:www.healthaccountabilitycoach.comwww.facebook.com/houselifestyles

It feels good and respectable to take care of others. When it comes to taking care of ourselves we often feel selfish, spoiled or undeserving when we spend our limited time on ourselves. Well, back up and rethink that. Do not feel guilty taking time for yourself. There is a reason that the airlines tell every person on every flight to “put on your own oxygen mask first, before helping your children or others needing assistance”. Here are some quotes to ponder:1. Self-care is a priority and necessity, not a luxury in the work that we do.2. Self-care means giving the world the Best of you, instead of what is left of you.3. True self-care is not about a life of bath salts and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from.4. You cannot pour from an empty cup.5. Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few seconds, including you!6. Taking care of yourself doesn’t mean “me first” it means “me too”.Choose one of those quotes that really speaks to you and write it down where you can see it as a visual reminder that You Are Worth It.In her book “Famous in Heaven & at Home”, Michelle Myers reinforces this with a simple rule: Our health routine should enhance, not hinder our lives. Taking care of yourself, when done with the correct motives, should best equip you to take care of others.Journal Questions:1. Do you have any areas in your health life that you battle guilt?2. What are some of your excuses or barriers when it comes to nutrition and fitness?3. If someone could grant you an extra hour in your day, how would you spend it?Kelly Brown is a friend who is the owner of Mom Camp, a marketing specialist and certified Birth Doula and Lamaze childbirth educator who is currently in training to be a postpartum Doula. Despite her knowledge and expertise as a birthing coach, Kelly was not prepared for what it was like to suffer from Postpartum Depression (PPD) or what is now called Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorder. In retrospect she had a mild case of PPD with her first two children but with the birth of her son she suffered tremendously, in silence. She was ashamed to admit it and afraid no one would trust her as a birth doula if she couldn’t handle the aftermath of her own childbirth. After 10 months she finally looked for help. Since then she has trained to become a postpartum coach to help other mothers in the same situation.Look for a postpartum specialist to guide you during the weeks after you bring home your newborn. Saluton, estas mi, Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. About Last Night We've clipped About Last Night on Succotash before but it's always fun to hear what hosts and comedians Brad Williams and Adam Ray are up to — as it says on the iTunes description: "From sex, to sports, to booze, when a dwarf and a Jew come together the results are unpredictable but always entertaining." Their guest in July was the great Bill Burr, who covered a gamut of topics - being a parent, bullying, high school days, and more. Our clip shaves off a slice of that action for you… Broad TopixHosts Kim Congdon and Alex Scarlato use their soundcast Broad Topix as a platform to cover everything from near-death experiences to naming their vaginas. We clip from an episode released just this month, where the hosts recount their adventure-filled trip to Vegas, baby! And just like that...the show is near over. I close another chapter of the audiobook that is Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. It's time to sweep up the eyeballs...oh wait I used that one already...didn't I? Ugh I...I can't remember...a wiki for the show would be so handy as a reference tool ...sadly the rules of Wikipedia wouldn't allow me to do it myself...as far as I know...I don't understand how Wikipedia works really...is there a Vox video? I'll look it up after I get done here. Thank you so much for joining me whenever you are listening. If you like us here at Succotash and you'd like to help us out, it would be great if you could write a review on iTunes or anywhere they let you write reviews really...online that is...well, you know what? I'm cool with print media... Also there is "Succomerch" available at our Succotashery (https://www.cafepress.com/succotashshow) and I imagine that's another great way to show us love by showing off your love of us to others...sharing us with others...loving us together...It's a huge and wonderful favor you'd be doing us, being our mascot of sorts...sharing images of yourself on social media with our shirts on...being featured on our Social Media sites...that sort of modern reciprocal love that is just another fantastic way that you could ...if you were to be so inclined to make a fashion statement AND (Please) Pass the Succotash... — Tyson Saner

Awake 2 Oneness Radio with Canela Michelle Meyers author of Right Here, Right Now Mediations live on Friday November 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM ET. Canela supports people to relax more and more into who they already are. She supports them to use real, in the moment details to Be Present – to accept the gift of Now. In her on-going invitation, nothing is left out, all is included as all is Love. She lives this and supports others to recognize this for themselves. She is available to guide you in embracing the truth of each moment. Canela woke up to realized "Self-hood" in 1998 and has been a speaker at the Science and Nonduality Conference (SAND) in 2015 and 2016. She has been a contributor and speaker with “PARADOXICA: Journal of Nondual Psychology & Yearly Conference” (2012-2015). Canela is the Best Selling author of “Right Here, Right Now Meditations” and has been a certified Kunadlini Yoga Instructor since 1996. As well as a ReiKi Master who had been teaching and practicing ReiKi, working with thousands of people in exploring life as energy. Her main support in all settings is one of Self acceptance – of finding the love that exists in everything; supporting people to finding this in themselves, and in their relating to others and their world. With many years of experience in being with herself and life as energy, her way of support is often inclusive of supporting people to find where attachments reside in their system (body, mind, energy field) then to feel the simplicity of that as it is accepted…and see what happens. Canela Michelle Meyers offers very practical, supportive Satsang events and sessions for people to drop deeply into what is happening in each moment. There is a strong transmission of Self in Satsang with Canela, supporting people to ‘fall in’ with … Continue reading →
Once the shift to the Awakened State of Being has occurred, it becomes obvious that every moment that proceeded that moment was significant towards its Self. It is also obvious that Awareness was present in each and every moment prior to that. The difference is that it is ‘Realized’ – Awareness is aware of Awareness. The journey for Canela Michelle towards this realization was happening long before she had heard of the potential of consciously living in the stateless state of Being. Once she heard that this was possible in 1995, the path was lit up and speedy until she ended up in Satsang with Isaac Shapiro in February 1998. By this time her inner and outer explorations were deep and subtle yet her explorations of what she perceived seemed to only serve to expand all of that even more…so she simply asked Isaac: ‘Is it beyond perception?’ He answered ‘Yes’ and in that moment, what was there previously as some sort of structure fell away, leaving only ‘What Is’ at play and Awareness being aware of That. ‘Real-ized’ It is recognized that the only reality is what is aware of itself in each moment, that there is nothing beyond that play happening, whatever the play might be. Canela Michelle is an expression of Awareness in each moment…just like everyone else is whether they recognize it yet or not (as is all that appears – air, body, thought, chair, taste, etc.). Her love is in supporting people to relax open to this Truth. Supporting them to allow themselves to not only recognize Love but to experience That; simply as it is, dependant on nothing at all. Awareness is the constant in the midst of the play of events. What rises, or appears in each moment might feel or look like an obstacle to Love, yet when a person opens to directly experiencing whatever that is, it shifts, changes and merges with all that is…no longer appearing as if it were an obstacle. There is nowhere to get to, you are already ‘Here’; it’s simply a matter of ‘meeting’ whatever might be appearing, right here, right now, in each moment. Once explored, it is recognized only as an invitation, from your Self to your Self…Love beckoning you hither. The support is offered in Satsang Meditation gatherings, individual & couple Satsang Sessions in person or by phone and in her first book: Right Here, Right Now Meditations: Satsang Invitations for Expanding Awareness (Volume 1) Canela's website. 2nd interview with Canela Canela in BatGap panel discussion at Sofia University Interview recorded 12/18/2011 Video and audio below. Audio also available as a Podcast.
