In Episode 808, Sean goes solo to address the departure of assistant coach Nate Bjorkgren to Indiana's top job before reviewing the seasons of Toronto's end of bench pieces. First up, Sean talks about what Bjorkgren may bring to the Pacers, what as what his departure might mean for the Raptors, and why his hiring is more of a positive for the Raptors than it is a substantial loss. Next, Sean talks about the team's three most intriguing back-bench pieces and how they could fit into the mix next season in Paul Watson Jr., Oshae Brissett and Dewan Hernandez. Lastly, Sean talks about Patrick McCaw, Malcolm Miller and Stanley Johnson, all of whom are unlikely to contribute much to next year's team, even if at least McCaw and Johnson are almost sure to return.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! In Episode 750, Sean and Vivek chat about the Raptors' 110-104 win over the Blazers in a scrimmage that felt like a little more than that on Sunday night. They first discuss OG Anunoby flashing some very exciting work off the bounce and what his refinement in that area could mean for the team in the playoffs. Next they hit on three stand-outs from the game, including Matt Thomas, Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka -- the latter two of which apparently didn't receive the memo that it was a meaningless tune-up game. Lastly they address the injury concerns regarding Fred VanVleet, who seems OK, and Patrick McCaw, who seems less OK, and what that could mean for Terence Davis, who's looked incredible through two games.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Locked On Warriors – Daily Podcast On The Golden State Warriors
The banged-up Warriors took two Ls this weekend, one on the segababa, and one in the ABC afternoon matinee—both without Stephen Curry, David West, Andre Iguodala, Jordan Bell and Patrick McCaw. But in the true spirit of the "next man up" mentality, the available Dubs fought with passion before their energies fizzled out late in both games. Kevin Durant put up 40 and 39 points respectively, but against Portland, the Warriors were outrebounded by 14, and vs. Minny they allowed 58 points in the paint. Neither outcome is a recipe for a win.Having lost their last two games, the Dubs are now 2 games back of Houston in the loss column. But do they really need the No. 1 seed to make it back to the Finals for the fourth time in a row? Aliko looks at historical trends going back to 2000 to see which champions won the regular season, and which ones simply made it through to peak at the right time and take out the "better" team. And make no mistake, despite the standings based on talent and chemistry the Warriors at full strength are better than the Rockets. Learn more about your ad choices. Locked On Warriors – Daily Podcast On The Golden State Warriors
The Warriors lost Stephen Curry to an ankle "tweak" early in the first quarter of last night's game vs. the Spurs. The arena was mostly quiet after that, with fans pondering Curry's status as the Dubs and Spurs went back and forth. Thankfully, Kevin Durant (37 points, 11 boards) and Draymond Green (triple-double) came to play, igniting the crowd in the fourth quarter with a furious comeback, and ultimately sparking the Warriors to a 110-107 victory.Curry will not be available tonight vs. the Blazers, nor will Andre Iguodala, David West, Jordan Bell or Patrick McCaw. Portland is riding an 8-game winning streak (which began with a win over the Warriors on Valentine's Day), and has ridden Damian Lillard and its defense all the way to the third seed in the Western Conference. During the streak the Blazers are outscoring opponents by 12 points per game. The banged up Warriors then have to travel to Minneapolis on Sunday to face the Wolves in the ABC matinee. In the midst of an extremely tough stretch, Minnesota has lost its last three, and will definitely be looking to rebound, literally and figuratively. Golden State will have to continue to grab boards by committee, run Wolves players off the line, and play patiently on the offensive end. Learn more about your ad choices. Longtime friend and friend of the #LockedonWarriors podcast Gabriel Holland joins the show today to talk about last night's game as well as a ton more NBA storylines. The Warriors lost their last game before the All-Star Break despite Kevin Durant dropping 50 points. Dame Lillard had 44 of his own and the Dubs shot themselves in the feet with turnovers both early and late in the game. For this week's #ThrowbackThursday, the boys delve into their childhood memories of the #AllStarGame, including the shoes, the uniforms and the dunks. That conversation spills into many subjects before circling back to the NBA today, including streaks and a series of rapidfire questions and answers to close the show.Tomorrow we'll discuss Patrick McCaw's injury and how it could affect the season. The Warriors took on the Suns at home last night and for the third-straight game, Stephen Curry didn't have to play the fourth quarter. Actually, the fourth featured heavy minutes from Omri Casspi, Nick Young and Kevon Looney, who all played well in the win. Casspi in particular had a double-double and made the younger Suns guarding him look slow.Casspi make an appearance on Dub of the Week, but it's Patrick McCaw who gets the honor this week, as he played basketball on five-straight days going back and forth between Santa Cruz and the big club. Also on tap: whether or not Derrick Rose is worth a look, and how much of a threat are the Rockets? The Dubs' latest thumping came at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, I would say the Thunder have GSW's number, but most of their problems were in the effort department. Seemingly no one except David West even tried to stay in front of Russell Westbrook, while 25 turnovers—most of them live-ball and many of them plays of insanity—fueled OKC's fast break. Kevin Durant was mostly good but took only 14 shots due to the turnovers and didn't have much backup last night. The difference in Offensive and Defensive Rating numbers on Basketball Reference and NBA.com is the subject of this week's Statistical Deep Dive. Going forward, I will utilize Basketball reference for individual ORtg and DRtg, while utilizing the NBA's stats website for team ORtg and DRtg. The differences in the stats on both websites are broken down in the second segment. In the third segment, I look at the bigger picture for the Warriors, including the chance that they will go into the playoffs without the no. 1 seed. Other topics include Kristaps Porzingis' ACL tear (and who should replace him in the All-Star Game), and Patrick McCaw taking a G-League sabbatical. Kevin Durant hurt his left hand and is questionable for tomorrow's game against the Mavericks. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Celtics and Warriors did not disappoint in their second meeting of the year, as Kyrie Irving put up 37 points on an array of acrobatic finishes. He found help from Al Horford and Jaylen Brown, who helped keep Boston in the game and contributed to their 14-28 night from range. On the other side of the ball, Stephen Curry had a season-high 49 points, contributing to him being named the Western Conference Player of the Week. The Human Torch set Oracle on fire, nailing 8 threes and going 16-24 from the floor. Klay Thompson had another subpar game on the offensive end, but Draymond was his usual stat-stuffing self, and Kevin Durant put in 20 points to help the Dubs to a 109-105 victory.Elsewhere, Rookie Watch has become Young Guns Watch on the Locked on Warriors podcast. Kevon Looney, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are this week's subjects. Patrick McCaw did not play in this one, and Jordan Bell is still days from being re-evaluated.Lastly, Aliko covers the DeMarcus Cousins Achilles injury, including the scope of this loss, and the aftermath for both the All-Star game and the Pelicans' playoff hopes. After surgery over the weekend, Cousins is looking at a 6-10 month recovery period. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
