PAUSE… The shining lights of orange, Just inches above. Sensuality and pleasure. Breathe and clear it now, The sacral chakra holds, So much precious treasure. PAUSE… Rise into the yellow, That shines your center, Personality, strength and power. Relax your body deeply, Opening and releasing, To nourish and empower. PAUSE… The heart center glows, With loving lights of green, Compassion, acceptance and love. Feel the energy flow, And your mind gently clear, You feel it from above. Let's begin by getting into a comfortable position, Sitting or lying down, And allowing your body to melt into its position. Bring your attention to your breath, Taking your mind away from all those thoughts, All those tasks, All those emotions, And inviting it to rest in your breath. PAUSE… Breathe in and out gently through your nose. Feeling your inhale expand your belly, And your exhale relax your body further. Let yourself breathe in just a little longer, And breathe out just a little more. And just stay here for a bit, in sync with the rhythm of your breath. PAUSE… Relax deeper into your breath. PAUSE… Now I'm going to lead you through a breathwork exercise to help you increase your energy. It will be a series of breaths, each to the count of a number. And then we'll repeat it three times. Let each of these breaths fill your belly, rather than your chest, so you can get the full effects of the oxygen coming in. Let's begin by breathing in to the count of two...one, two. And breathing out to the count of two...one, two. Breathe in to the count of three...one, two, three. Breathe out to the count of three...one, two, three. Breathe in to the count of four...one, two, three, four. Breathe out to the count of four...one, two, three, four. Breathe in to the count of five...one, two, three, four, five. Notice your ankles soften, your shins and calves melt, Your knees relax, your upper legs and hips surrender, Your lower back lets go of so much tension your holding, Your belly soft and sweet. PAUSE… Relax any tension in your upper chest and shoulders, And down your arms, Your throat and neck soften, And your face is completely relaxed. PAUSE… I know you've been holding so many thoughts in your mind, That's caused so much stress and anxiety. But in this moment feel at the top of your head, As I place my hands, this beautiful warm healing light. Go within your body and begin to notice, All the many places that are stuck or blocked. And this light will travel to all of them for balance and peace. PAUSE… Explore with me now as you go within your body, And notice any areas that are holding this tension. It may be a feeling, a knowingness, Or perhaps you see it as a gray mist. This Reiki energy pours in from the top of your head, It's pure white light, this light of healing begins to move throughout your body. The top of your head feels warm and inviting. Your hair and your scalp feel soft and surrendered. I move my hands over your eyes, And the warmth is so powerful the face feels as if the sun is basking down. Your eyes settle in, the skin around the eyes soften, All tension in the face melts. PAUSE…

So surrender them, And find the comfort you seek so that old hurts can no longer control you. It hurts. The burning that occurs from holding onto hurt and anger, As if you were holding a hot stone in your hands. PAUSE… With each passing thought of angry words or past hurts, Your body tenses, And your heart races. PAUSE… So come inside, And find peace within your breath. PAUSE… Breathe in, Breathe out. PAUSE… Relax into this present moment. It's only you and your breath. PAUSE… Be here. In this beautiful present moment. The place where true peace resides. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in, And as you do, Imagine that you're inhaling all of the hurt and anger. And on your exhale, Release it, Surrendering it all, And letting it go. The movies play within your head, And pull you away from rest. The scary scenes expand and meander and grow, And soon, your eyes are open, Your heart is racing, And sleep has escaped from your body. PAUSE… But slow down, dear one, And know the fears will dissolve, The anxiety will disappear, As you bring yourself out of your head, And into this moment. Present to what is, And open to the comforting arms of deep sleep. So breathe deeply, Fully into your body, And ask the universe to hold you, To protect you and the ones you love, As you surrender into her embrace. PAUSE… Let your attention settle into your breathing. Aware of the cool air on your nose as you breathe in, And the warm air on your nose as you breathe out. In and out, Over and over again. Slowing down a little bit more with every breath. PAUSE… Become aware of what's around you. Listen to the soft noises of the night. See the objects and people in your space. Feel the blankets touching your body. PAUSE… Bring yourself here, Into this moment. Breathing in calm, Breathing out the fear. LONG PAUSE… You are safe here. Those around you are safe. And everything is okay. PAUSE… So breathe, And let your body melt deeper into your bed. PAUSE… Relax your feet. Feel your legs get heavy. Open your hips. Soften your belly. PAUSE… Expand your chest. Relax your back. Release your arms. PAUSE… Lower your shoulders. Release your jaw. Soften your face. LONG PAUSE… Feel a soft, warm energy gently touching the top of your head. Imagine this energy releasing the thoughts, The visions, The worries, The fears, With every breath out. LONG PAUSE… Breathe and release. Breathe and rest. PAUSE… Breathe and release, Breathe and rest. LONG PAUSE… The arms of the night hold you close, And you fall into her embrace with trust. PAUSE… It doesn't matter why they're here, Or what stories they tell. Just identify them, Isolating them, And holding them in place. LONG PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine, Your arms wrapping around these emotions, Embracing each jagged edge, Each soggy tear, Each bursting star. PAUSE… You show them love, Honoring each of them, Silently grateful for each one. PAUSE… Now every time you exhale, Imagine your embrace loosening, And all of your emotions floating free. Slowly, Hovering around you, Slowly drifting away. LONG PAUSE… Each exhale pushes them further away from you, Inch by inch, Mile by mile, Galaxy by galaxy. PAUSE… Breathe them out, Breathe them away, Let the emotions dissolve, They can no longer stay. LONG PAUSE… Feel the liberation and expansion. You are not defined by your emotions, You are the witness of your emotions. You are the calm presence that remains unchanged amidst the ebb and flow of emotions. The very first meditation I ever experienced, Was at the end of a yoga class, As we melted into Savasana…corpse pose. PAUSE… It was a magical experience, And I hope to give you a bit of that magic during this meditation. So allow yourself to settle, Inviting your body to lie down comfortably. PAUSE… Now take a moment to stretch your arms as far above your head as possible, And then stretch your legs in the opposite direction, Elongating your spine, Stretching your body. PAUSE… Now as you exhale, Release your arms and legs, And relax yourself into comfort. PAUSE… Feel what's beneath you, The floor, Or your bed, Or the couch, And just become aware of the weight of your body on top of it. PAUSE… Now breathe in deeply, Expanding your belly as far as you can, Holding it for a moment, And then exhaling, Contracting the belly, And letting all that air go. PAUSE… Relax even deeper, Melting just a bit more with every breath out. LONG PAUSE… Savasana, or corpse pose, Gives us a chance to practice stillness. To practice the art of being, And not doing. To practice clearing our minds, And softening our bodies. PAUSE… There is nowhere for you to be, Nothing for you to do. So surrender yourself to the pose, Breathing yourself deeper, And deeper into this moment. LONG PAUSE… Allow your feet to part, Your legs to soften, And relax. Open your hips, And soften your belly. PAUSE… Feel a warming energy travel slowly up your spine, Beginning at the bottom of your back, And rising, Rising, Breath by breath, Melting you, One vertebrae at a time. All the way up to the top of your neck. Breathe… PAUSE… Let your heart open, Your arms get heavy, And your neck and face, Soften and relax. PAUSE… Stillness is here within you, Behind the movement of thoughts, Past the highways of fear. Deep within the center of you. Right here. Always. LONG PAUSE… Now slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes, And when you're ready, Bring yourself to a sitting position. Notice your ankles soften, your shins and calves melt, Your knees relax, your upper legs and hips surrender, Your lower back lets go of so much tension your holding, Your belly soft and sweet. PAUSE… Relax any tension in your upper chest and shoulders, And down your arms, Your throat and neck soften, And your face is completely relaxed. PAUSE… I know you've been holding so many thoughts in your mind, That's caused so much stress and anxiety. But in this moment feel at the top of your head, As I place my hands, this beautiful warm healing light. Go within your body and begin to notice, All the many places that are stuck or blocked. And this light will travel to all of them for balance and peace. PAUSE… Explore with me now as you go within your body, And notice any areas that are holding this tension. It may be a feeling, a knowingness, Or perhaps you see it as a gray mist. This Reiki energy pours in from the top of your head, It's pure white light, this light of healing begins to move throughout your body. The top of your head feels warm and inviting. Your hair and your scalp feel soft and surrendered. I move my hands over your eyes, And the warmth is so powerful the face feels as if the sun is basking down. Your eyes settle in, the skin around the eyes soften, All tension in the face melts. PAUSE… This current of Reiki energy moves to the jaw, the teeth, and the tongue, Relax your mouth and jaw. Those areas of gray mist are slowly disappearing. I place my hands over your throat, Feeling this warm sensation in the throat center, Invoking the purest communication self, Eradicating negative thoughts and thinking, And bringing forth positive thoughts of well being, Shifting those inner thoughts to positivity and love, Gently I move my hands to your heart. Feel yourself take that nice sighing breath. You're melting more and more, Your shoulders feel light. Feel the warmth in your heart.

A forest of colors and shapes and scents To dazzle your sleeping mind. PAUSE… If you could let your imagination roam, Let it build a realm from scratch, Who would live and breathe and love there? What would grow and thrive? PAUSE… Start with what you see on the ground, What sprawls around your feet. Picture a bed of lush green grass, Deep purple flowers everywhere. PAUSE… Between the flowers, chipmunks dart, Chasing each other up trees and down. Small birds the color of green apples, Watch from high above. PAUSE… The birds sing and chirp in upbeat tones, As they jump from branch to branch. Every now and then, a brave one swoops, Finding a new tree to call its own. PAUSE… Relax into the beauty of this place, hear the birds speak to your heart. Pull the sweet air into your lungs as you settle deeper into sleep. LONG PAUSE… The trees in the place are massive, So high the tops can't be seen. The light must trickle through them, Making bright patterns down below. PAUSE… They stand like tall protectors, Guarding all in their midst. Their leaves fill the air with rich freshness, And their trunks give the insects homes. PAUSE… So many creatures fill this place, It's hard to know where to look. The flourishing forest teems with life, Yet peaceful silence covers all. PAUSE… Anything seems possible here, A world of dewy, green magic. Let your spirit loose to explore the woodland, Flitting along with the butterflies. PAUSE… Inhale and feel the enchantment within, filling you with hope and fancy. Exhale and see what else you can discover, hiding in mossy depths. LONG PAUSE… The scents are as lovely as the sights, Heady and full of promise. Sun-soaked leaves and rain-soaked earth, The blend so intoxicating. PAUSE… It's as if nothing unpleasant or wrong can thrive here, Everything reaching for its greatest good. You, too, are like a creation of the forest, Adding power to the collaboration. PAUSE… This woodland is a place of wishes, Of simple desires made real. So what might you request of the trees? What might your heart long to feel? PAUSE… What deep desire have you been holding inside? Perhaps it's time to speak its name. What spectacular fantasy waits to unfold, If only you'll set it free? PAUSE… Breathe in and know that all can be yours, that the universe awaits your call. Breathe out whatever's been holding you back, and say your longing out loud. PAUSE… It was a magical experience, And I hope to give you a bit of that magic during this meditation. So allow yourself to settle, Inviting your body to lie down comfortably. PAUSE… Now take a moment to stretch your arms as far above your head as possible, And then stretch your legs in the opposite direction, Elongating your spine, Stretching your body. PAUSE… Now as you exhale, Release your arms and legs, And relax yourself into comfort. PAUSE… Feel what's beneath you, The floor, Or your bed, Or the couch, And just become aware of the weight of your body on top of it. PAUSE… Now breathe in deeply, Expanding your belly as far as you can, Holding it for a moment, And then exhaling, Contracting the belly, And letting all that air go. PAUSE… Relax even deeper, Melting just a bit more with every breath out. LONG PAUSE… Savasana, or corpse pose, Gives us a chance to practice stillness. To practice the art of being, And not doing. To practice clearing our minds, And softening our bodies. PAUSE… There is nowhere for you to be, Nothing for you to do. So surrender yourself to the pose, Breathing yourself deeper, And deeper into this moment. LONG PAUSE… Allow your feet to part, Your legs to soften, And relax. Open your hips, And soften your belly. PAUSE… Feel a warming energy travel slowly up your spine, Beginning at the bottom of your back, And rising, Rising, Breath by breath, Melting you, One vertebrae at a time. All the way up to the top of your neck. Breathe… PAUSE… Let your heart open, Your arms get heavy, And your neck and face, Soften and relax. PAUSE… Stillness is here within you, Behind the movement of thoughts, Past the highways of fear. Deep within the center of you. Right here. Always. PAUSE… So many creatures fill this place, It's hard to know where to look. The flourishing forest teems with life, Yet peaceful silence covers all.
