He is co-founder of Port Power, a startup making commercial EV charging infrastructure faster to build and easier to operate. He is co-founder of Port Power, a startup making commercial EV charging infrastructure faster to build and easier to operate. In his role as operating partner at RedBlue Capital, he is executive director at EVage, India's leading EV startup manufacturing affordable & robust commercial vehicles for emerging markets. In his previous roles at funds like Maniv Mobility and OurCrowd, he was an early investor in companies including Revel Transit, Zoomo, Edgybees, Innoviz and Argus Cybersecurity. Company Overview Port Power makes the transition to electric vehicles smooth and reliable for commercial fleets and their real estate partners. Port OS is an "air traffic control" that coordinates vehicles, chargers, energy resources and parking sites in a centralized and automated way. The result is smooth and effective EV charging experience at fleet depots - be they dedicated EV depots, or charging build into workplace or warehouse parking lots. Future of Mobility: The Future of Mobility podcast is focused on the development and implementation of safe, sustainable, effective, and accessible mobility solutions, with a spotlight on the people and technology advancing these fields. linkedin.com/in/brandonbartneck/ brandonbartneck.com/futureofmobility/ Edison Manufacturing and Engineering: Edison manufacturing is your low volume contract manufacturing partner, focused on assembly of complex mobility and energy products that don't neatly fit within traditional high-volume production methods.
Prescott Watson (@prescottwatson) joins Olga Serhiyevich (@olgaserhi), head of investor relations at Village Global, on this episode. Prescott is co-founder of Port Power, a software platform that aims to de-risk commercial fleets' adoption of electric vehicles by ensuring their charging infrastructure functions flexibly and reliably. Takeaways: - With gas or diesel-powered vehicles, drivers take the car to the energy source (the gas station). With electric vehicles, that paradigm doesn't work for fleets of commercial vehicles that need to be charged up overnight. This means that a fleet operator needs to build charging infrastructure to charge 30, 50, perhaps 100 vehicles simultaneously. - Building the charging infrastructure requires huge efforts by multiple players and right now the grid can only support a small fraction of the power that is required. Full support all of the charging that needs to happen is many years away. - Prescott says there are real “sticks” coming for fleet operators. As early as 2026, there will be restrictions on the ability of fleet operators to buy diesel vehicles. - Moving to electric vehicles requires a huge effort on the part of the government as well as private operators who build and co-fund the infrastructure required. Prescott says that there has been a significant brain drain from government. It needs to attract many more talented people in order to solve these challenges. - Access to electricity will play a key role in commercial development and real estate in the future. This provides a significant opportunity for capital allocators. We chat to Cam about his footy career, injuries, the stolen generation and even find out his Rap name should he ever dabble in hip hop music. It was great to hear from Cam and learn about his journey within footy as well as what he intends to do once he moves on from the game. I found Cam to be very interesting and look forward to seeing him back out on the turf soon. Tagging along on this episode is Dev as a co host.
