The General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was so inspiring this past weekend that Trevor and I decided to make a new podcast, which we will be recording today. We discussed the following topics: the movie theater industry (https://theplaylist.net/studios-take-a-hit-cinemas-analyst-20201005/), Final Fantasy's Collection of SaGa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7uT3iT7BxA), Google's Project Soli (https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2020/9/30/21496318/google-soli-radar-motion-sense-rick-osterloh-pixel-5), Atari (https://decrypt.co/43744/atari-token-bitcoin-com-public-sale-november), the Nobel Physics Award (https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-54420240), Graphene (https://www.fastcompany.com/90560206/this-wonder-material-could-eliminate-dead-batteries-once-and-for-all), and black holes (https://www.sciencealert.com/monstrous-black-hole-has-trapped-six-entire-galaxies-in-its-gravitational-spider-web). Both Trevor and I had topics that we wanted to dive into, which were too long to research for this episode, so we are planning to record a bonus episode this weekend.
Trevor and I covered a lot of topics. I list them as follows: UpRight Go 2 (uprightpose.com/), OnePlus - New Beginnings Episode 1 (https://youtu.be/GxqKXbp1Pn8), Ubuntu (ubuntu.com/), mail.com, Pokemon Sword and Shield: Isle of Armor (https://youtu.be/wOSDnjacRm4), The Pokémon Company Engagement Rings (https://hypebeast.com/2020/6/pokemon-company-pikachu-engagement-ring-info), Google confirms acquisition of smart glasses maker North There's probably more to Google's interest than just glasses, though (https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/06/30/google-reportedly-in-talks-to-buy-smart-glasses-maker-north-for-180-million/), Thalmic Labs – Myo Retail Launch (https://youtu.be/A8lGstYAY14), Niantic announces Catan: World Explorers, the fourth augmented reality game from the studio (https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/06/30/catan-world-explorers-augmented-reality-game-android/), Autonomous bike bots to delivery grub and groceries (https://www.zdnet.com/article/autonomous-bike-bots-to-delivery-grub-and-groceries/), Coca-Cola is shutting down Odwalla juice (https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/01/business/odwalla-juice-coca-cola/index.html), Dish has taken over Boost Mobile, as promised in T-Mobile/Sprint merger (https://www.androidcentral.com/dish-has-taken-over-boost-mobile-promised-t-mobilesprint-merger), What Is Open RAN Technology? Medvirkende:Kristinn R. Welcome back guys, I apologize for how late this episode is. We are currently trying to get the podcast running with some visuals on youtube to increase audience reachability. I've had this episode ready for a bit but was hoping to upload it on youtube as well as here. Unfortunately that didn't work out as planned, but soon enough I'll have that situation sorted out! Look forward to it. Anyway! Today we're talking about cheats and mods in games, some of the value that they add as well as some ethical questions behind cheating and legal restrictions regarding modding.Find us at:linktr.ee/gamingtiMojo Vision AR Contact Lenseshttps://www.fastcompany.com/90441928/the-making-of-mojo-ar-contact-lenses-that-give-your-eyes-superpowersNeuralink - The future of interfacing with computershttps://www.neuralink.com/https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/16/20697123/elon-musk-neuralink-brain-reading-thread-robotGoogle Project Solihttps://www.theverge.com/2019/10/15/20908083/google-pixel-4-project-soli-radar-motion-sense-explainerTesla Suit - Haptic Feedback Gloves for VRhttps://www.theverge.com/2019/12/26/21037855/teslasuit-glove-vr-haptic-feedback-glove-announce-pricing-release-date-ces-2020Snapchat Scanhttps://techcrunch.com/2019/04/04/snapchat-scan-platform/F-35 $400,000 helmethttps://www.airspacemag.com/military-aviation/super-helmet-180964342/Magic Leap Onehttps://www.techrepublic.com/article/magic-leap-1-augmented-reality-headset-a-cheat-sheet/Magic Leap - Whale jump videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbpqwUUfMAQWatch Dog Legion Delayedhttps://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-delays-watch-dogs-legion-rainbow-six-quarantine-and-gods-and-monsters/IntroEndless Dreams by ASHUTOSH https://soundcloud.com/grandaktCreative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/endless-dreamsMusic promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/2ukfjWqoHr8OutroFull Power by ZAYFALL https://soundcloud.com/zayfallmusicCreative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/_full-powerMusic promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/vWuGCATLwxI
Today on the 5: One of the few bright spots from the bumbling Made By Google event was the formal integration of Project Soli in the new Pixel 4. While it's pretty limited today, this radar technology has a lot of potential.
Blind Bargains Audio: Featuring the BB Qast, Technology news, Interviews, and more
This show marks the 750th piece of audio content to arrive on the site. It also so happens to be the 9th year for J.J. and Joe to discuss Blindness related Google accessibility. That s why we thought it wild that this episode features our 2019 Made By Google event wrap up coverage. Trains, another grocery order and J.J. taking us out for a walk are some additional points of interest to notice along the route that is BBQ 196. Discussion Topic: Made By Google 2019 Event Here is some more background information on what Google is about to unleash upon the world. Is TAlkBack even their? @ChangelingMx: I personally felt it was the most boring keynote I've ever watched. Also, extremely disorganized. @ed_edwardson: For the last few years they really keep trying to push Chromebooks on the general populous. Yet I've not seen them take hold outside of education. Do consumers use these things? The Hub line does have screen reader support. You can always check the Google Accessibility page, or the device's specific online manuals, if you want to learn more. Last Word: A blast from the Internet's past pings into the final segment this week. A series of mysterious bleeps and bloops defined the early days of the internet Yahoo is deleting all content ever posted to Yahoo Groups Understand what's changing in Yahoo Groups If we are lucky, that was the last big hardware event for the show. If we are not so lucky, and the rumors are true, we may have one more from Apple before we can hang up the wrapup format for the year. Stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed.

00:00:00 - Usually whenever you want to make up nonsense that sounds plausible, you throw in the word 'quantum'. We're all guilty of it from time to time. Fortunately, we have Ben Tippett here to explain the actual quantum happenings behind our first observation of quantum distortion in empty space. You can read the paper on the arXiv here. 00:27:19 - Extra long drinks segment because there's just so much to talk about! Ben's perfect memory of every previous episode fails him just this once when he has the Swedish holiday soda Dryck Julmust, just like Ryan already had on episode 234. Silly, Ben. Ryan is feeling ambitious, so he drinks an entire Galaxy from Funkwerks. Jacob, an adult with stuff to get done mixes a meal with his caffeine by giving Coffiest from (probably not using people as an ingredient but still suspicious) Soylent a try. 00:45:45 - When you think of radar, you probably think of green blips signaling enemy aircraft, but Google's ATAP group has just announced Project Soli, which aims to put a microchip with radar sensors in your phone so you can make things happen just by moving your hands around. Jacob thinks it's a big deal, and he's usually right about these sorts of things so listen up. 01:08:36 - ben has donation from Peter P. (@vituanpeterphan), who also supports The Titanium Physicists because he's a doubly awesome dude. Thanks, Peter! Jacob is up next with a story from Joe S. about a thruster that seems to violate the laws of physics. DOES IT?! You'll have to listen to find out. Ryan winds things down with a quick correction regarding chlorophyll from episode 254 sent it by Paul K. Thanks for listening and be sure to check out the Brachiolope Media Network for more great science podcasts!
