This ep, Xero exposes CoinOps and Scum to the 1990 dystopian fascist rollerblade epic featuring Corey Haim and Patricia Arquette. It's charmingly batshit insane. Come for Haim performing many of his own stunts, stay for the first appearance of a certain Oscar winning composer's legendary first industrial music single. It's the future.Drugs are everywhere, and so are Nazis disguising themselves as patriotic... I promise we are talking about a movie... and it is much cooler than reality because it has rollerblades! From the guys that eventually wrote Point Break... comes Prayer of the Rollerboys... a not at all family movie that feels like a family movie featuring rollerblading nazi youths and Lucifer from Supernatural!DISCLAIMER: Language and Spoilers!PRAYER OF THE ROLLERBOYSdir. RTS might be at home in dystopian futures. Enter Griffin (Corey Haim). He has established himself since he was eight years old (or before). He's got all the moves, but he doesn't have the world currency needed to make a better life for himself and his down-to-mist brother, Miltie (Devin Clark). Gary Lee (Christopher Collet) might have solutions. Friendship like this is everlasting. Casey (Patricia Arquette) has many outfits and many secrets – can she be trusted? Can she be seduced? Can't we have it all? Also, did you know that during most of this movie the characters are on rollerblades? It's that kind of future! Sara makes her Rabbit Troop Sucks debut just in time to meet Speedbagger and Bango! Also, enjoy a slice of some “boss kelp” pizza.

Corey Haim and Patricia Arquette's stand-in are the only two who can stop a rollerblading gang of drug-dealing white supremacists from taking over L.A. How did this movie not sweep awards season that year? A surprisingly dark and serious movie for one that heavily features Rollerblading. Movie Meltdown - Episode 547 This episode we discuss the dystopian, near-future film... Prayer of the Rollerboys. Directed by Rick King and starring Corey Haim, Patricia Arquette and Christopher Collet - this science fiction story shows us a version of America that maybe a little closer to the world we live in than we are comfortable with. Oh yeah… and there’s lots and lots of rollerblading! And while we have mist-induced flashbacks of all of our childhood TV favorites, we also cover… The Clyde Frog Show, the entire fall of civilization, Solarbabies, Godzilla, we want our sexy bunny, 3D glasses, trying to explain V to someone, shelf expansion, getting beat with flip flops, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Batman, renting a VCR, you’re playing with their little corpses, zoot suit pants, Super Mario Bros., Mark Pellegrino, he was always getting hurt, without a cup holder, Fritz the Cat, The Transformers: The Movie, chain link-covered van, a skate-by shooting, The Bloodhound Gang, eating planets, I partially blame Hackers, who saw a blade-off happening, a black and white TV, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs, greed is good, Ultraman, Axl Rose on Scooby-Doo, Double Dragon, you better not be down there watching cartoons, Joel McCrea, with fringe, adjusting your rabbit ears, the rise of Serpentor, economic collapse, Kung Fu Theater, Space Jam and there’s a reason all the skaters made fun of rollerbladers. Spoiler Alert: I guess you can spoil "Prayer of the Rollerboys"? If so, we probably do. You better watch it beforehand just to be sure. “It’s such a weird mixture of like total post-apocalyptic craziness… and then regular run-of-the-mill stuff. It’s insanity.”

What does a post-apocalypse movie staring Corey Haim need to make it truly the greatest post-apocalypse movie it can be? Rollerblades. Yup. I'm not kidding.
Here it is! From synchronized rollerblading to sepia as a narrative tool. We break down “Prayer Of The Rollerboys” in this week’s episode!
Class, welcome to D MINUS PODCAST! Follow us on our bullshit journey into bullshit as we watch and discuss the best/worst of cinema’s celluloid soft-spot. This week’s homework is “Prayer Of The Rollerboys” starring Patricia Arquette and the late Corey Haim. It’s a classic tale of a dystopian near-future California run by a drug dealing gang of rollerbladers.
Nancy chats to Starlight Express, West End & Panto star, Michael Quinn about The Roller Boys on BGT recently, big names he's worked with & his plans for the future.
Oh shit. They're back. Yup, Ken, Dan, and Rob ( Ballsac ) are back to talk over another fine piece of cinema. Well, ....... It's a movie Ken said we need to do and Rob and Dan had no problem diving into this choice starring Corey Haim. Everyone catch watch along on Youtube, Prayer of the Rollerboys from 1990. Who knows when we'll be back, or what the hell we'll do when we come back, but the thoughts near the end, possibly a rollerblade trilogy. So enjoy the gross profanity, potty mouth humor, and just nastiness of Dan, Ken, and Rob. Just trying to make each other laugh.
Thirteen. Unlucky for some, but I think you lucky listeners are in for a right old treat as Midnight Video cleans out its cupboards/closets for Skeletons, adjusts the dials for La Antena before we finally mist up for Prayer of the Rollerboys. Also this week there's a chance for one lucky listener to get their mitts on the first official piece of Midnight Video merchandise in the shape of a t-shirt.

Hey y'all! This week on the Patreon, we're watching a movie that is FREE IN ITS ENTIRETY on YouTube! The movie is 1990's 'Prayer of the Rollerboys' starring Corey Haim. It is a highly ribald dystopian gang warfare movie that takes place entirely on rollerblades. It's absolutely bonkers and also... kinda good?!? It was written by the same guys who wrote 'Point Break'. Definitely worth a watch. Shout out to Craig in Georgia for the suggestion!

http://www.searchforschlock.com/media/podcasts/sfs-154-PrayerOfTheRollerboys.mp3 Download MP3 In a dystopian future, Dream a Little Dream 2 star Corey Haim infiltrates a cadre of trenchcoat-wearing rollerblade enthusiasts / drug kingpins with a secret plan to sterilize their customers. His only ally is undercover cop and Nightmare on Elm Street 3 star Patricia Arquette, whose costumes only get more ridiculous as the tensions ramp up. Perhaps more importantly, we open a pack of Growing Pains trading cards from 1988 and describe each card in painstaking detail, and Chris samples the included more-than-three-decades-old stick of chewing gum.Original post located at searchforschlock.com.
There's something about Child stars, whether it was during their prime or at the worst, they've always delivered some absolute pearlers, so we dug deep and we have delivered. Michael tucks into "Prayer of the Rollerboys" with Corey Haim and the US adaptation of Wilfred, featuring Elijah Wood. Meanwhile poor Davina is left speechless, literally, at Brad Renfro, Ian McKellan and David Schwimmer in "Apt Pupil" and utterly unimpressed with Michaels favourite Trainwreck, Amanda Bynes in "The Amanda Show."
