Years ago, a woman told Rob the greatest story he'd ever heard: Her doctor put her on testosterone cream — and then required her to attend weekly meetings with the other women who were also on it, so they could compare notes. Rob pitched it as a sitcom. The executives stared at him like he had gone insane. This week: why the sanding-down of genuinely weird ideas doesn't start in the conference room but in the writer's own head, what he's learning from a new script with comedian Sam Morrison — and a big announcement about the future of Martini Shot. This week on Widowed AF, Rosie is joined by LA-based comedian Sam Morrison, whose life changed forever when his partner Jonathan died from Covid in 2021.Sam is currently in London performing his critically acclaimed show Sugar Daddy, a wildly funny, deeply personal comedy about love, loss and everything that comes after. What started as grief eventually found its way onto the stage, proving that sometimes you can't make sense of tragedy… but you can make jokes about it.Rosie and Sam talk about meeting their partners, navigating loss at a young age, and the strange club nobody wants to join. They also get into dark humour, grief counselling, dating after loss, audience reactions to comedy about death, and why sometimes laughter is the only way through.Expect conversations about gay bear festivals, cruise ship comedy gigs, grief guilt, autoimmune diagnoses after trauma, and the awkward reality of trying to explain “my partner who died” in everyday conversation. It's a thoughtful, funny and refreshingly honest chat about grief, resilience and carrying the people we love forward with us.Sam's show Sugar Daddy is running at the Underbelly in Soho, London from 5 March to 4 April.Find tickets and tour dates at samuelhmorrison.com @samuelhmorrisonIf you enjoyed this episode, please follow, rate and review the podcast. In this episode of Let's Talk Rare, we looked back at P4A's recent trip to Glasgow, where our colleagues, Sam Morrison & Iro Malekou were on the ground for ISPOR activities leading up to ISPOR 2025. They weren't just observing—they were actively contributing, presenting a poster abstract, connecting with experts, and taking the pulse of what's shaping the HEOR and rare disease landscape. We reflected on their experiences: the conversations that stood out, the insights gained from engaging with stakeholders, and the early signals about where health economics is heading in 2025. From lively discussions in the exhibition hall to the themes emerging in scientific sessions, our colleagues returned with a clear sense of the momentum—and the challenges—facing rare disease access. This episode highlights their key takeaways: what we learned from presenting our work, how the community reacted, and what the atmosphere in Glasgow suggested about the priorities and pressures that will influence ISPOR 2025.Whether you attended, followed from afar, or simply want an insider's view of what's happening in HEOR and rare disease, this recap brings you right into the room.

Recorded on December 13, it's Brian's birthday! Brian describes his plans to celebrate, which exhausts Judson just by hearing them listed out. Judson shares a glowing review for Ricardo Tavares' bathhouse-based “Morning Glory” sex party, which led to one of Judson's top 3 hookups of 2024. The two compare stories of “setting traps” on the apps. They then welcome comedian Sam Morrison to the podcast and cover the target age demographic for his comedy, discrimination by sex party promoters, the struggles we each face with our bodies, Sam's theory about Daddy Bears, and the challenges he's facing being in a monogamous long-distance relationship. This week's Go Ask Your Dad question comes from a listener feeling envious of his partner when he realizes that their newly opened relationship is proving to be uneven in terms of the opportunity they each have for hooking up.
Sam Morrison, a wonderful, touring-round-the-world comedian, is hot on the trail of being the next big solo show turning into, possibly, a Broadway sensation (and probably a big time special) with his Sugar Daddy. This week's TCB Field Report gets into the countless hours (and miles?) of work that has gone into and will go into having this show and himself ascend into stardom. Welcome to this month's episode of the P4A Let's Talk Rare podcast by Partners4Acess. Today, Georgie and Owen are joined by their colleagues Pina Haberl, Senior Director, and Sam Morrison, Executive Director at Partners4Access. Join us as we discuss the crucial role of patient experience data in drug development. The conversation explores the need for drug developers to understand patient perspectives and gather data on their experiences, preferences, and needs. Pina and Sam highlight how patient experience data can improve drug development and clinical trial design while differentiating products in the market. They also address challenges in collecting and integrating patient data and the importance of involving patients early in the process. Also discussed is how some regulators and health technology assessment (HTA) bodies have started to accept patient experience data in their decision-making processes, but there is still uncertainty and inconsistency in how it is used. There is a call for more collaboration among stakeholders, including payers, policymakers, and patient groups, to establish best practices for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing patient experience data. Pina emphasizes the need for patients to have a seat at the table and be heard in decision-making processes. She mentions initiatives, such as partnering with patients and conferences, but acknowledges that there is still a long way to go. A study published in Cambridge University Press investigated the utilization of patient preference (PP) data in health technology assessment (HTA) bodies worldwide. An exploratory survey by the HTA International Patient and Citizen Involvement Interest Group gathered insights from 40 members across twelve countries. Results showed that 82.5% of respondents formally considered PP data in HTA reviews, yet only 39.4% reported its frequent inclusion in assessments due to time and resource limitations. PP data moderately influenced decision-making processes and outcomes, with a higher impact on decision quality. Participants suggested patient advocacy groups should play a primary role in generating and submitting such evidence. The study highlights barriers to broader integration and proposes collaborative workshops for further investigation. We found Sam Morrison's Baseline Conversation on Instagram in late December 2023. We saw a guy telling stories about learning to play tennis while he rallied balls against a wall. A week later, Sam had amassed thousands of followers who have connected with his earnest story-telling and his developing game. Now he is championing a message of persistence and inclusion that we love to see in the culture. Sam dialled into Forty Forty Radio from his hometown of Phoenix Arizona to talk through his frankly unbelievable family sporting heritage, what drew him to tennis in his 20s, representation in the sport, and his plans to carve out a space for more people to enjoy the game. In 2021, comedian Sam Morrison lost his partner to COVID-19. From that grief emerged his new comedy show, "Sugar Daddy," which explores that tragic loss, his recent Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis, and more. Morrison joins us to discuss the show, which runs at the SoHo Playhouse through February 17th.
The meerkats are blessed today on a marginally shorter, but jam packed episode by the wonderful Sam Morrison. Try to keep track of everyone as we go from ultimate fantasies: Nathan Lane in the Producers and Bo Burnham circa 2009, to coke or Pepsi (the game everyone simply MUST know), to edging Lukas by spilling water on the couch. Hold onto your seats, we also give childless advice to a mom with two kids under three. Trigger warning: this case involves the abduction and murder of a young child. Listener discretion is advised.Five-year-old Brittany Locklear waited alone for her school bus while her mom ran inside to use the bathroom. When she looked out the door, Brittany was gone. Neighbors witnessed a brown pickup truck slam on the brakes, got out and grabbed Brittany and then sped away. On January 8, Brittany's body was found in a drainage ditch about 3 miles away from her home. She had been raped and was drowned. Twenty-two years later and her mama Connie is still awaiting justice. The True Crime Mamas wish to thank both Anjanette Grube, Public Information Director and ASAC Walter Brown from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation for their partnership and information on inactive cases in North Carolina.Cover art by Marley SodenTheme song by Sam Morrison

I have "Frankensteined" an episode together featuring Jon Huck, Bryan Erwin, Sam Morrison and Kyle Chrise.... It's alive!
What is a Prison Consultant? I attended a gathering last night at an extraordinary Potomac, Maryland home. Most all of the other guests were attorneys. Sam Sheldon, who hosted the event, formerly worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He is now a partner at Quinn Emanuel, one of the nation's most elite, white-glove law firms. Sam Morrison was also present. For more than a decade, he worked at the U.S. Pardon Attorney's office and he now specializes in representing people who apply for clemency or pardons. Julie Stewart, the founder of FAMM was also present. There were several other lawyers in the room, including my friend Shon Hopwood, who clerks for the DC Circuit Court. The evening's discussion centered on concepts related to prison or sentence reform, the injustices of mass incarceration, and the work that I'm doing to earn a living. One guest asked, “What is a prison consultant?” Although I do a considerable amount of work without compensation, through PrisonProfessor.com I earn my living. Products on PrisonProfessor.com and prison consulting services I offer provide insight to people who do not adhere to the criminal lifestyle, but have been indicted for a crime. Generally, my clients are white-collar offenders who are traumatized by the thought that prison may be a possibility. I don't offer legal advice. Instead, I provide a specialty service, helping them prepare for the best possible outcome. Those consultations include helping them prepare for the presentence investigation, helping them understand programs like the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which can result in their receiving time off their sentence, and also understanding a best-practice way of serving time so that they can position themselves for an easier journey, both in prison and beyond. Through the free daily podcasts that I offer on the Earning Freedom network, and the abundance of articles I publish, I provide an abundance of free content. White-collar offenders who find that information can ascertain the value that I can provide as they confront the difficult challenges of a criminal prosecution. And as Sam Morrison, a lawyer who once worked for the Pardon Attorney told me last night, this work can help to position those defendants for clemency or a pardon later on down the journey. That is the work I do as a prison consultant.
