From touring with The Offspring and surviving on-stage mishaps to humorous encounters backstage and their electrifying performance at the AFL Grand Final, these stories paint a vivid picture of a band that has not only survived but thrived in the ever-changing music industry. The episode wraps up with a game of 'Write, Party, Dinner,' where Kav and Joel decide which music legends—Bruce Springsteen, Prince, and Elton John—they would choose to write a song with, party with, and invite home for dinner.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Scott Darlow is someone that I had wanted to speak with on my podcast for some time. I saw him play back up for Eskimo Joe in late 2019 and new that he was someone with an interesting story. I also knew that he would challenge my perceptions and some of the ways in which I was raised. This is an important episode in a few different ways, but mainly because it has opened the door wider to me on what began as a journey of confronting, accepting and doing better in the area of racism in my own life. There is one thing that a lot of men have trouble with, it is also the one thing that if left unchecked can be our most self destructive behaviour, and that is our self judgement. Most men give themselves a really hard time, with unrealistic expectations, of themselves, their relationships and what they can or cannot achieve. But there is a way out of that toxic self generated cycle, and in todays episode we revisit the discussion Dwayne and Andrew had around Self Forgiveness as they take it further, to a deeper level in probably one of their best episodes to date. So grab a cold drink, sit back and relax and have a listen, who knows, it may just change your life. Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. In our next installment of our Fatherhood series Dwayne and Andrew look at the next stage of the development cycle and that is the grumpy, zombie like teenagers, who like dark rooms, clothes on the floor and if your lucky, a grunt or too each day. But they are not all that bad, once you learn their language, and how not to trip over a floor full of stuff in the dark. Teenagers need love too, and they also need a Dad more than ever as the boys seek to understand what being a man is really like, and girls learn to hide what's really going on behind the sweetness of Daddy's little girl. It's time for a real talk, about what is really going on. Listen to Andrew and Dwayne's yarn today if you are brave and ready to know the truth. Today is the day to reset some home truths. We must all accept the fact that we have been lied to. For our entire life. Being confused, not knowing the truth and building your life based on these lies is not your fault. Neither are the consequences you continue to face. But in listening to this episode you will finally know the truth and in turn you will be, from this point on, not only responsible for your life and your choices but you will also be responsible for the consequences they create. We said this needed more, and people asked for it, so here it is. Our next discussion on Redefining Masculinity, and why it is so important in today's day and age. This is not about shaming Men, or even about them engaging with their feminine side. This is about looking at what Men have become, looking at what works and simple what doesn't. Dwayne and Andrew talk about this with a raw candor, that you must hear to connect with. Men have a lot to offer this great work, and if we changed our way ever so gently it will make all the difference, not only to the world, but also to our own lives. You don't want to miss this. In case you haven't noticed there is a new cool in town. It isn't based on strength or even being right all the time. It is what is much needed at this time and it is compassionate and heart felt. Being Kind is the new cool, and it carries with it no judgement, but it offers itself, and anything it can do, to others who need it. There is no greater time in the world than right now, where compassion and understanding is needed the most, and Dwayne and Andrew talk about why Men need to be kind, to themselves, to each other, well in fact, to everyone. Being Kind is easy, when you know how. Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review.. We all have a lens. We see the world through it and it filters our reality. Every person has one and it is as unique as we are. But what a lot of people don't realise is that this lens not only changes what we see, but we also project our thoughts and feelings through it and it changes them as well. If you are unhappy in life, it all comes down to this lens. But not all hope is lost, as this lens can be changed, altered or even replaced with a completely new lens, and if you are unhappy with how your life has panned out, then I suggest you listen to this episode as Dwayne and Andrew talk about the lens, how it impacts your life experience, but also how it can also change your life forever. Today's episode covers a big issue, and one Men live with most of their lives. It sits in our stomach, like a lead weight, slowly poisoning us. It is our own doing, a big obligation we all feel, and one that is easily forgiven when we do eventually speak to our partners. All men have felt it at one point, that Fear of Providing. Can I provide for my family? For my partner, for my kids? It is felt in the cities and the outback, but for very different reasons. Today, it is time for it to stop. It is time to allow the discussion to heal and to show the world that you are not alone, not on this one. Dwayne and Andrew have both felt it, in a raw and open discussion, that is essential to have. Pricey has a yarn with Australian Singer songwriter Scott Darlow
Too many people nowadays, think that it is ok to judge someone, slam someone for behaving differently. We are taught to judge, in fact we are often judged when we don't judge someone else. The fact is, everyone's behaviour is their own, it represents them, including your own judgement of their behaviour. Is your behaviour perfect? Maybe, to you, to your ego it is. But I guarantee you, to someone else it isn't. You need to stop what we are doing and listen to this powerful episode, and we collectively need to change what we are doing because it is sending society as a whole down the wrong path. The definition of Masculinity has been changing for some time. Men have worked hard to maintain the old style of masculinity, trying in vain to keep the strength, the power and the authority behind it. The Problem is, it isn't working, and for very good reasons.Times have changed, as have the lies our collective masculine identity was built upon. There is one thing that brings people together. It has been around since the dawn of time itself. Indigenous communities throughout the world have used it to educate, inform and communicate for over 40,000 years, if not more.Different methods, through different cultures, and even different languages, one thing is true for all. Marketing experts use it, politicians use it, and communities and cultures use it. It is in ancient texts, modern scriptures and everyday communications. It is the Power of Story. It's time to get real. It is time to let the passion out. We need to change the way we are looking at others, and not tarnishing the masses with the actions of the few. But we do it, because we are taught to do it. By our Governments, our education system and the corporate run media. It's time to change the narrative, that proliferates judgement and discrimination, and replace it with understand and compassion. We are one Mob, on Sacred Ground, and Dwayne and Andrew believe it is time we started acting like we are.Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review..Send us an email Explore Dwayne's Cultural Awareness offering https://ngaranaboriginalculture.comExplore Andrew's offering https://andrewhackett.com.auConnect with us through Facebook and Instagram send us a message if you have any questions. And a big thanks to Scott Darlow for the use of Solid Rock for the Podcast theme, and Shane Howard for being the legend who originally released it. Welcome to Secret Men's Business, the show without boundaries, colour or judgement, a safe space for all people, to have the discussions that we need to have, so that we can all move forward in our own way. This is a show for all men, and women who know men, as we work together, to better understand each other and the world we live in.We have all been taught that there is weakness in vulnerability. That being vulnerable as men is in fact an act of failure. A failure of our masculinity. It's time for that narrative to change. Dwayne and Andrew dispel those myths, and reset the dialogue, in the very first episode.Don't forget to subscribe and please leave a review..Send us an email Explore Dwayne's Cultural Awareness offering https://ngaranaboriginalculture.comExplore Andrew's offering https://andrewhackett.com.auConnect with us through Facebook and Instagram send us a message if you have any questions. And a big thanks to Scott Darlow for the use of Solid Rock for the Podcast theme, and Shane Howard for being the legend who originally released it.
