With just days to go until the US midterms, there has never been so much at stake in terms of misinformation and polarisation. We can all think of examples of the consequences of some of those issues, which are playing out around us in real-time. The Reuters team have been hard at work producing election data, maps, infographics and more to help publishers cover the midterms accurately. This episode Chris Sutcliffe is joined by Reuters News Agency's Politics Editor Scott Malone, Digital Verification Editor Stephanie Burnett and Director of Emerging Products and Special Events Rob Schack. They discuss how data and trends can help cut through some of the noise, how this work will feed into future elections and other reporting, and ultimately, how it affects the trust audiences have in the news they consume. Millwall ended their three-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City at The Den.Second-half goals from Charlie Cresswell and Benik Afobe sealed a much needed three points for Gary Rowett's men.Zian Flemming on his home debut came close within five minutes. His long-range effort finding the gloves of Ryan Allsop. four minutes later the visitors responded, Jaden Philogene firing over from just outside the box. He came close again four minutes later, but he once again failed to hit the target. Callum Styles had a fabulous debut in Millwall colours and set Andreas Voglsammer away, he found Flemming, who curled an effort wide. Voglsammer went close in the 28th minute; with his back to goal, he went for it, but it was simple enough for Allsop to deal with. Four minutes before the break, former Millwall loanee Sheyi Ojo almost gave Cardiff the lead. A ball across goal reached Ojo, and his effort came back off the post. The Lions were forced into a change just two minutes into the second period. Shaun Hutchinson was replaced by Cresswell. Substitute Mark Harris rattled the post for Cardiff, his effort on the turn coming back of Bart Bialkowksi's left-hand post. Cardiff would go on to rue that missed opportunity as in the 64th minute, they found themselves behind as two Millwall substitutes combined for the opening goal of the contest. Cresswell headed in Scott Malone's corner to give the Lions the lead. Tyler Burey came close to a second, forcing Allsop into a good save with 20 minutes to go. Cardiff did force Bialkowski into a save, Niels Nkounkou's effort was palmed away by the Pole for a corner which was cleared. Afobe sealed the deal with his first goal of the season with a delightful finish past Allsop.Join Alex for the Live Millwall Fan Join, this show was recorded live on Saturday 3/9/22 via Twitter Spaces.Be sure to follow us on our socials below - we appreciate any and all comments or feedback on the show.Twitter @ThatMillwallPodInstagram @That_Millwall_podcastTikTok @thatmillwallpodcastEmail ThatMillwallPodcast@gmail.comThis Podcast has been created and uploaded by That Millwall Podcast, the views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT. On Saturday, #millwall face the stern test of playing #reading at the Den. Reading have had a mixed bag of results to begin the season, not unlike the Lions! However, the Royals have managed to achieve nine points from their opening five fixtures, whilst Millwall are on seven, which means that Saturday's encounter gives the Lions the chance to leapfrog Reading!Reading's last 5 fixtures (in all comps) WLLWWMillwall are unbeaten in their last five encounters with the Royals, managing to get four wins in that time too!It is thought that Millwall will go into the game playing their standard 3-5-2 formation, in which the wing backs are classed as part of the midfield five.Danny McNamara will be expected to start this weekend despite a difficult start to his campaign, however there are still question marks about who will play of the left hand side, with some Millwall fans actively speaking against Scott Malone after he's struggled in the last few games for the Lions!Reading have had a lot of fortune since switching in the last couple of games to a 3-5-2 formation, with Holmes, Hutchinson and Mcintyre playing as a back 3 whilst Hoilett and Yiadom have now pushed up and act as part of the Reading midfield. Our Inside Man this week are @ElmParkRoyals and @readingfanman, they were feeling moderately confident going into the game despite their poor record in recent years against the Lions, however there is still worry from within the Reading fanbase. President Trump recently described a plan to tackle the opioid abuse crisis that includes tougher sentencing on dealers and expanding access to treatment. The President's Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis cites the need to move ahead quickly with treatment alternatives for those addicted to opioids. Yet, recent public surveys show that Americans are confused about opioid-treatment programs, with only about half believing there is an effective, long-term addiction treatment. There are programs offered for the treatment of opioid addiction, including medicated–assisted treatment, drug rehabilitation programs, addiction support groups, and counseling. This Forum – featuring the unique perspectives of former governors and the 21st United States Secretary of Health and Human Services — will examine the state government's role in current and future approaches to treatment. These approaches may include educating the public about these alternatives, paying for them, regulating their performance and availability, training and certifying health professionals in their use, and developing guidelines for certification of these treatments. This is the second in a series of Governors Roundtables. Part of The Andelot Series on Current Science Controversies, this Forum event was presented jointly with Reuters on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Watch the entire series at ForumHSPH.org.
Inspired by students across the country, the gun violence prevention movement has gained new momentum. But can it last or lead to substantive change on the Congressional level? This Forum brought together experts in mental health, violence, and gun policy to discuss a variety of proposed gun violence and school safety measures. What is the status of background check laws? What is an appropriate way to discuss mental health in the conversation — without creating stigma or a chilling effect on people seeking care? What skills and training should educators have to spot warning signs and respond in crises? And, in light of restrictions around federally funded gun-related research, do policymakers have the information that they need to study these questions effectively? In this time of turbulence, our panelists looked at the evidence for — and possible unintended consequences of — today's hotly debated measures to stop gun violence. This Forum event was presented jointly with Reuters on April 6, 2018. Watch the entire series at ForumHSPH.org.

Climate-related programs face challenges from federal regulation rollbacks and proposed spending cuts. In response, some members of the public and private sectors have stepped in, announcing various commitments to take action to curb climate change. A stellar panel of national, state, corporate and science leaders addressed the question in this Forum. Presented jointly with Reuters on Friday, October 13, 2017.

As usual, there were ups and downs this week for Fulham fans, as a wonderful Valentine’s Day win against Nottingham Forest was slightly dampened by the tactical masterclass that we were given against Spurs. In fact, some would say that in the tactical battle, Slavisa was comprehensively checkmated by Mauricio Pochettino, and Scott Malone had his legs twisted inside-out by the masterful Christian Eriksen, who taught the Fulham left-back a lesson he won’t be forgetting any time soon. That said, Slavisa got things spot on against Nottingham Forest, where his substitutions proved to be a match-winning stroke to replicate the 3-2 home win from the weekend before against Wigan. There was also previews of big games this week against Cardiff and Bristol City on the road, as the Whites look to put together a meaningful winning run in the Championship. Plus, we answer a variety of your questions as we get on to the issues and thoughts surrounding the Club right now, starting with how we feel the squad is set up for a promotion attempt, and what the pros and cons of staying in this division might be.
