Lots of quality hiphop this week. It all starts with an Aesop Rock mashup by Equilibrium followed by some nice beats by Slouch and a little hiphop cum dnb from Chinese Man. Atmosphere and Glue give us some rhymes before Fort Minor drop the politically charged Kenji. After the break we begin with the dubby techno of Bluetech and Solar Quest before DXT (formerly Grandmaster D.ST of Rockit fame) lays down the beats and heavy conspiracy theory. DJ Krush keeps it real with the powerful Univearth and Sixtoo spits out some dirty beats to round out the show. Tracklist: Equilibrium - Aesop Rock x Andrew Bird Mashup (Instrumental) Slouch - Black Coffee Chinese Man - In My Room (DJ SUV Remix) Atmosphere - GodLovesUgly Glue - Goodbye Antipop Consortium - Throat Cultures Fort Minor - Kenji Bluetech - Oleander Solar Quest - Awaken Kundalini DXT - Embryo Bill Laswell and Pete Namlook - From The Earth to The Ceiling pt 1 DJ Krush - Univearth Sixtoo - Closing Day Sale Sixtoo - Jackals and Vipers and The Envy of Man pt3
Only listen to this week's show if you are ready to close your eyes and melt away to the lush rhapsody of eastern rhythms, electronics and sounds so delicate you think they're going to crack just listening to them. Soft and slow with a gentle bit of sax work over top a droning synth is how we start the show... a pace we continue all the way to the end. We gain a bit of momentum as Vat Von Trapp's voice sail over top of hand drums and drones. Juno Reactor's Song For Ancestors is the perfect accompaniment with it's deep electronics and Lisa Gerard-esque singing. Krishnamurti and Harold Budd take us deep into a introspective journey of our relationship to all of human history. Murcof sends us out to the far reaches of the galaxy and Solar Quest brings us back as we ponder the mysteries of love and the universe. Here we go! So, this is the inaugural post with the very first mix called "Easy Groover Yoga Mix". It should pretty much set up a pattern of how these mixes will be done. The dynamic flow may change from mix to mix, depending on the mix's theme but I will usually try to incorporate a healthy dose of both, established artists and lesser known musicians, producers and DJs whose music is posted on sites like SoundCloud.Easy Groover Yoga Mix by Dubtrak on MixcloudDescription:This mix starts off nice and slow with some chilled out ambient tracks, progressing into more dynamic mid-section with some more upbeat dubby electronica tunes. The last three tracks ease off into more calm and reflective mood, and end with a meditative Indian flute piece. Now that was a long week wasn't it?.... Time for a great weekend!
