We were made to be more than simply saved, tap into a Spirit Led Life.
Faithful doesn’t always feel peaceful. Sometimes it feels heavy. In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, Jon Ellis speaks directly to believers who haven’t quit, haven’t compromised, and haven’t walked away, but are tired in a way rest alone doesn’t fix. This conversation reframes weariness through Scripture, not shame. You’ll learn the difference between burnout and betrayal, why growing weary doesn’t mean you’re failing, and how God responds to faithful exhaustion with care, not condemnation. Drawing from Galatians 6, Isaiah 40, 1 Kings 19, Mark 6, Hebrews 12, and Romans 8, this episode offers clarity, permission to rest without quitting, and reassurance that endurance seasons are often evidence of real faith. If following Jesus feels heavier than you expected, this episode will help you understand why, and remind you that you’re not behind, broken, or disqualified. You may simply be faithful… and exhausted. You’re not weak. You’re not broken. You’re tired. In this episode, Jon Ellis speaks to believers who are still faithful but worn down, helping you discern the difference between burnout and betrayal, rest without quitting, and silence the voice of condemnation. A steady, Scripture-rooted reminder that weariness doesn’t mean failure, and God strengthens those who stay. #FaithfulButExhausted, #TheUncommonChristian, #ChristianPodcast, #EnduranceFaith, #SpiritualWeariness, #Bible, #Christian, #Romans8, #Galatians6, #StayFaithful, #SpiritLedLife, #ChristianEncouragement, #Jesus, #HolySpirit

Obedience was never meant to be easy, and Scripture never pretended it would be. In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, Jon Ellis exposes a truth many believers aren’t prepared for: Obedience is Warfare. If following Jesus has made your life harder, more resisted, or more pressured, not easier, you’re not failing. You’re engaged. Drawing from Ephesians 6, Galatians 5, Luke 4, and 2 Corinthians 10, this episode breaks down why resistance often confirms obedience rather than disproves it. You’ll discover how spiritual warfare usually shows up, not through dramatic encounters, but through delayed obedience, compromise, internal conflict, and thoughts that push you to quit. Jon unpacks how Jesus faced temptation, why the Spirit fills before testing, and how immediate obedience sharpens discernment. You’ll walk away with three Uncommon Steps to help you stand firm, reclaim ground, and live boldly in a culture that pressures compromise. You weren’t saved for ease. You were saved for engagement. And Spirit-filled believers don’t retreat, they stand. If obedience feels like a fight, you’re not doing it wrong, you’re engaged. In UNC018, Jon Ellis explains why following Jesus brings resistance, how obedience is spiritual warfare, and how to stand firm without backing down.

Pastor Sergio wraps up his series giving us 10 reason why we should pray in other tongues. We have to pray in other tongues because God wants us to, it builds us up in our Spirit, it helps us pray God's perfect will, it helps us pray when we don't know what to pray, it disciplines the mind and soul, it brings rest and refreshment, it gives us direct communication with God, it helps us worship in the Spirit, it strengthens us against spiritual attacks and helps us give thanks well. God wants us to receive these gifts he offers us! Our spirit and flesh are always at war, we have to allow our spirit to take over so our mind and soul don't dominate.

Pastor Sergio continues talking to us about leading a life led by the Holy Spirit. We show evidence we're filled by the Holy Spirit when we pray in tongues and have faith to receive all the good things God has promised us. Have you received this yet? There are 4 manifestations of the gift of speaking in tongues; signs to the believer, tongues for interpretation, tongues for intercession and tongues for personal prayer. We build our Holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit!
Pastor Sergio continues this series telling why we should be more concerned about the beast within us than the 'mark of the beast'. The victory we need is in our spirit, not our soul or body. Being spirit led is putting God first! To be led by the Spirit, we must be born again, learn God's Word, crucify our flesh, submit to God's Word, be under authority and be filled with the Spirit. When you speak, Heaven moves!

John 16:7–10 NLT. The Spirit-led life starts with God rescuing us, continues with the Holy Spirit establishing righteousness, and ends with us becoming conduits of His authority. In this weeks Leadership Lessons Olusegun Olujide shows how we were created with a spirit (conscience, intuition, and communion) and a soul (mind, emotions, will). The Holy Spirit restores what was lost through sin, aligning us with God's will so heaven touches earth through us.
Pastor Sergio continues this powerful series talking to us about how we can look like a Christian but not be a Christian. Some of us are Christians until the world pulls us out with certain relationships. We can pray all you want to, but until you get your life in alignment with His Word there won't be a changed life. We can't let our feelings lead our life! Feelings will begin to take us down the wrong roads in life. A person in their feelings is always looking for some sort of validation. Sometimes we don't need validation, we need correction! We have to let our Spirit lead us! If we're a Spirit led person, we read God's Word and do what it says. Everything is waiting for us to live our of the right part of us. If we live in through our Soul or Body realms, we'll miss the promotions God wants to give us!

Pastor Sergio continues his series talking to us about how revelation frees our spirits. Once we get revelation, we can never be talked out of it. A spiritual person is a person who lives and speaks according to God's Word. We have the enemy's playbook already. We have to live our of our spirits so we always combat everything the enemy distracts us with His Spirit. We cannot have a relationship with God without sacrifice. How many times has satan tested your identity? We can't work our way into being a son of God, it's not a works thing, it's a faith thing. We have to continue to feed our spirit with God's Word and time spent with Him! The power of being a Christian is Jesus comes from the unseen realm and changes our circumstances!

Pastor Sergio continues his series telling us why spirituality without boundaries(the Word of God)creates swampland. The Word makes is spirit, soul and body. It's our spirit that allows us to relate to God and access heaven and the spirit realm. A healthy soul is attractive. We cannot afford not to work on ourself. The body needs to be disciplined. Revelation frees us and our spirit. Prayer gives the spirit revelation. Information transforms our thinking. The flesh must be disciplined(crucified). The only way to build a spiritual life and a prayer life is through discipline. If our emotions are king, we'll be stuck in our soul. Everything in the spirit(Word)is established by facts. Everything that's established in the Spirit was established on the Cross! The way we access the Spirit is through our spirit.

Are you exhausted from trying to be a “better Christian,” follow all the rules, or just fix yourself? In this episode, Heather Creekmore dives into the age-old dilemma every believer faces: Am I supposed to be working on me—and if so, how much of it is up to me, and how much is God’s job? Inspired by the Crowder song “He’s Working on Me Still,” Heather explores the difference between self-powered striving and Spirit-powered transformation. Using honest stories, biblical wisdom (especially from Galatians 5), and practical illustrations, she helps Christian women understand why hustling for holiness leaves us tired—and how true freedom and growth comes when we move from “I’m working on me” to “He’s working on me.” In This Episode: Why spiritual striving, religious rule-following, and willpower can’t bring long-term freedom How diet culture mindsets sneak into our faith and make us rely on formulas instead of God What it means to step out of the driver’s seat and let God be in control (with relatable analogies and humor) The power of relationship over religion and why faith is more than just “doing all the things” How to recognize if your spiritual life is based on head knowledge, not heart transformation Practical steps to move from self-reliance to Spirit-dependence—including honest reflection questions and the importance of daily worship Key Takeaway:Stop striving for self-improvement and start leaning into God’s grace. When we let go of self-reliance and invite the Holy Spirit to lead, we experience true rest, freedom, and lasting spiritual growth. Pastor Sergio continues his this series talking to us about how God is going to lead us through those who have authority in our life. He starts by letting us know about why we need a Pastor. Without a Pastor, we'll get disaster! The way we learn to hear the voice of God through our leaders. It takes maturity to submit to our leaders, but if we trust God during this it will bear fruit. In every situation, find out who the authority is and submit to them. Wherever authority is, you will find God. The world can think what they want, but the sons of God do not. The language of slaves is complaining. When your authority tells us something contrary to God's Word, we don't have to submit to that, but we disagree respectfully. We're never going to be led by the Spirit unless we love authority!

Pastor Sergio continues this series telling us how the Spirit of God leads us through His voice! If we're Christians, the world should know it. We have to take inventory and see if we have a hardened heart. Obedience to the scriptures grows us up! Until we can read the Bible and start doing what we read, we'll always have a stony heart. How long it takes to get a new heart is up to us! God puts His Spirit in us so we can follow His lead. We can't keep leading our lives ourselves. If we're in control, we'll limit ourselves! Just receiving Jesus is not enough, it' the voice of His Spirit that has to awaken within us. The Spirit of God is trying to make us more like Jesus! Every relationship hurts, every person we love hurts us. Sometimes we have to let the Spirit of God lead us to the wilderness in order to become more like Jesus. If the Spirit of God is going to lead us, we have to let Him! The Spirit of God sometimes leads us to places we're not going to like and are uncomfortable. What mature people do is work it out and forgive!

Welcome to Christ Community's Online Service! In Acts 16 we see Paul's second missionary journey—and one of the clearest pictures of what it means to live a Spirit-led life. The Holy Spirit isn't just a concept, but the very presence of God guiding us in real and personal ways. In this message, we explore how Paul created space to listen, followed even when God said “no,” kept moving forward in faith, and discovered open doors he never expected.
