Sean is back in the chair on hosting duties and is joined by Tommy and Josh to recap Round 8 of the NPLWA - Men's competition - as the top four sides failed to win for the second week running. Sean starts with an apology after the pod received plenty of feedback to last week's episode, as new footage emerged of Samuel Dweh's goal, before the panel discusses Glory and Bayswater's top of the table clash and Kingsway's meeting with Balcatta. There's praise for Matty George in RedStar's return to form, for Gordon Perkins' who's enjoying a breakout season and the impressive Kristian Santich, while Sean asks if Armadale is a threat to the top four after another pair of goals for Pieter. Finally, we touch briefly on the Women's State Cup results, while Tommy does his best to completely botch the sponsors read... Send us a textWhat happens when you walk away from a secure corporate job to pursue your passion for running a small business, refereeing and mentorship? Join me, David Gerson, as I recount the exhilarating journey from the office to the field, where the thrill of officiating high-stakes matches like the Georgia State Cup semi-finals and finals became my new reality. Through this transition, I discovered the power of female representation in high-level soccer games and found fulfillment in mentoring young referees, ultimately choosing family and well-being over climbing the corporate ladder.Explore the critical yet behind-the-scenes role of a fourth official, where managing substitutions and being ready to step in as the main referee underscore the adaptability essential in this position. My firsthand experiences from the State Cup, including the unexpected honor of receiving a commemorative ring, highlight the recognition referees seldom receive, yet deeply appreciate. Modern tools like the Refr sports platform and the Ref6 Pro app have become invaluable resources that optimize our efficiency and effectiveness on the field.Personal stories bring warmth and depth to this episode, especially as I share my son Jacob's journey back to refereeing after overcoming challenges. Listener interactions, like Dan's touching letter about discovering his passion for the sport through his son's games, weave a rich tapestry of community and inspiration. Together, we celebrate shared experiences, learn from the unpredictable nature of the game. Thank you for being part of this supportive community, and here's wishing you a holiday season filled with fair play and no red cards. The Dark Horse Entrepreneur | Helping Parents Make Money OnlineFor hardworking parents seeking side hustles & yearning for the freedom & fulfillment...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

The Inside Scoop with Anytime Soccer Training - Discussing Youth Soccer from Around the World

Welcome to a special edition of Inside Scoop! In this episode, Neil Crawford, host and founder of Anytime Soccer Training, interviews Katie, the host of the soccer podcast "Kick It with Katie." Katie is a soccer mom, wife, and coach, managing a busy life within the soccer world. She shares her inspiring journey to becoming a coach, starting with volunteering for her daughter's team and eventually getting licensed after a pivotal moment during a game. Now, Katie coaches multiple age groups and even her own daughters' teams, navigating the unique challenges of coaching her kids while maintaining a professional coaching approach. During the podcast, Katie discusses some of the challenges faced during tryouts in her area. The timing of tryouts often clashes with important events like State Cup and out-of-state tournaments, causing players to miss tryout opportunities. This scheduling conflict can create difficulties for both players and coaches. While players committed to their current clubs can secure a spot through registration, those seeking new clubs face challenges due to overlapping schedules. Despite these challenges, Katie and Neil explore potential solutions and encourage open discussions in their soccer community to address these issues and make the tryout process more accessible and equitable for everyone involved. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kick-it-with-katie-a-soccer-podcast/id1648920617 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anytime-soccer/support

As a parent, coach, and former player, winning never gets old. On the other hand, losing can suck. In today's society, it feels like we only have time for winners, however, as a coach I often learned the most from a loss. A few years ago I wrote a book called "Re-booting Youth Soccer 2.0: Everything You Really Need to Know But Were Afraid to Ask About Youth Soccer" (available on Amazon). Today on "The Bear and the Ball," I'll read from my chapter on "Winning and Losing" as it's highly relevant as we move into the sudden death of this year's State Cup and the highs and lows that come with knockout soccer.

Perhaps the final piece to the puzzle in understanding this specific Youth Soccer Discussion is the competition/league structure itself. Craig Winger is the Iowa Soccer Association's Director of Competition and he's here to educate us. Craig is a native Iowan and growing up in the '80s playing at a community club in Dubuque, he's seen the evolution of Iowa soccer that hearkens back to the early days of State Cup in Muscatine. Receiving the ISL/IPSL torch from Iowa Soccer Legend, Ted Bzdega, Craig has overseen an unparalleled transition in Iowa soccer's history.   This past summer of 2020, in the relatively new pandemic era, a contingent of youth soccer clubs in Iowa proposed a new league with the Iowa Soccer Association called the Club Development League (CDL). Here are the stories: Episode 85 of the podcast tried to provide a neutral overview of the differences between the CDL and the previously all-encompassing Iowa Soccer League (ISL). Episode 89 went in depth into the history of how this situation came about, and provided a good perspective from the leader of an ISL club. Episode 90 reviewed the standards of the different leagues and provided some solutions to potentially keep the ISL and CDL together under the ISA umbrella. Episode 91 was a wide-ranging conversation that provided a perspective that few have on the ISL, CDL and player development in the state of Iowa. We welcome the godfather himself, Iowa Soccer Association's Executive Director, Dan Cataldi to hear about the process to this point and hopefully, a way forward.

On today's show, Jeremy welcomed on Minnesota Thunder Academy Boys Director Mark Yueill. PARTIAL INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT What's your initial reaction to Caden's first week in MLS? Holy Cow. What a dream start. Caden took the opportunity and ran with it. He just knocked it out of the park with his first two games. He looked comfortable out there. He wasn't intimidated, he didn't get rid of the ball just to get rid of the ball, he didn't run around like ‘oh my gosh, I don't know what I'm doing'. He played, and that I was very impressed with. He scored some fabulous and very important goals, but he also contributed to defending, he played both sides of the ball, he helped contribute in possession. I think Red Bulls is actually a great fit for him in terms of their style. While I was super impressed, I was also like ‘Yeah, he's always had the ability to change a game and to help his team'. Super proud of him. How old was Caden when he joined MTA? Caden did such a nice thing for us. When he first started playing for Red Bulls II, he and my son Jackson participated in a Zoom call with our Juniors Program, and to promote that he sent a picture of him playing either U10 or U11 soccer. He had the MTA kit on, long hair - longer than he has now, big bandana. It was cool to see what a young Caden looked like and what he's grown into now. So he started with us at a very young age with what was our Minnesota Thunder West program at the time. How long after Caden started with you did you start to realize his potential?  I was coaching the younger teams, I believe U14s, at the time. Caden was born in 2003 but he played up with the combined ‘01-'02 age group. One of those ‘02's was Mikwelle Akale's brother Mosango, who's also playing professionally in Cyprus now. He signed an U19 youth contract, spent a week with Papos FC, and they loaned him out to a 2nd division club right away, so he made a big jump up. So Caden was on that team.  The thing that occurred to me, and it took a number of games to get to that point, was that whenever Caden was in the game we didn't lose. He didn't score the winning goal, he wasn't the main guy out there, but he was just a piece to the puzzle that helped us be very successful.  The team at the time, we were participating both in USDA and MYSA. We won State Cup and went on to regionals. Soliterally that team that Caden was on went straight from the Summer Development Academy Showcase in Frisco, Texas and we flew directly from there to Indiana to participate in regionals, where we actually lost in the semifinals. Caden was younger than everyone on that team but just as important as anyone on that team. What's an underrated aspect of his game that hasn't been featured yet on the national stage? His mentality.  His parents are fantastic, they run a fitness company. Caden has a drive and desire to work very hard in all situations, and then the mentality of ‘I'm never going to quit. I'm going to grind. I'm going to dig it. I'm going to push myself throughout everything.' Whether it's a top ranked opponent or a lowe opponent, he doesn't change that at all. So his mentality is fantastic, and he works very hard. People talk a lot about the gifted athletes in the world, whether it's Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Lionel Messi, or Christiano Ronaldo. One of the common things they have not only is a god given ability but it's their work rate. Their willingness to train as often as possible, even when noone else is willing to train them. Caden has that piece also. So that's the mentality part of it that he has, that kind of X-Factor of ‘I'm going to work my tail off and improve on everything. Mental side, physical side, tactical side, technical side. With Caden moving to RB Leipzig in Bundesliga in two years, and the league's pedigree for molding American talent, what's the ceiling for Caden? I don't see anything stopping him now. Obviously, he's got the...

We are starting to feel that the end of the season is realy close. few matches to the end of the season. we have almost 100% champion. Maccabi Tel Aviv makes a repeat and win the title, second year in a row. Hapoel Raanana just made thier relegation after 8 years in the Premier league. And Maccabi Petch Tikva won the Devision 2 (Liga Leumit) title and will play next year in the Premier league.(20.6) Hapoel Tel Aviv - Maccabi Tel Aviv (Premier Leauge) 20:00 CET(21.6) Bnei Yehuda - MS Ashdod (Premier Leauge) 19:30 CET (22.6) Hapoel Rishon Lezion - Hapoel Katamon (Liga Leumit) 19:00 CET(23.6) Hapoel Rannana - Maccabi Netanya (Premier Leauge) 18:45 CETThe first match prediction of the episode is the Clasico of the Israeli Football. The Tel Aviv Derby. Hapoel Tel Aviv vs Maccabi Tel Aviv. The match will be played on Saturday, 20.6, 20:00 CETThe Home team havn't win a Derby for almost 7 years. and it will not happen on Saterday. Maccabi Tel Aviv the Champions will win this match. the only question is in how much.I have found a Bet builder that gives you a 1.66 a Bet Builder: - Both teams to score in Frist Half - No (the home team will struggle to score after The away team conceded only 9 goals in the last 32 fixtures. - Match result - Away win (easy. Maccabi will win this match) .and if you want to bet for a bigger odd. in 2.10 you just need to had the previews two selections with - Over 1 goal for both teams combined. I believe that the away team will win with 2 goals or more. this is the reason this Bet Builder with 1.66 or 2.10 have a big chance to win.The second match of the Episode is From The Israeli Premier League. Here are some information about this match with tips. The home team has nothing to play for. the lost last week in the Semi Final of the State Cup. They can't relegate. so, Their season is over. while the away team has to win one more game to stay for 100% percent in the Premier League. and as i see over 80% of the Away team's matches finished with Over in Goals. This is the reason i am going on another Bet Builder: 1) Double Chance - Draw or Away Win + 2) Over 1 goal in the match for both teams combined and it gives you 2.15.In this episode, we have 2 more matches that Demoles provide unique information about these matches and he gives his prediction for this match. The information and the prediction about these two matches from the week are available only in our Podcast, Football Tips From Israel. to receive the free tips. all you have to do is to listen to the Episode at the Top of this page. Please notice that we have a big tip with high odds for this match. the unique information for this match is priceless.

Football United vs Soccer City

Welcome to Episode 18 of the Football United vs Soccer City podcast. It is always a pleasure to get the recording gear out and set up to conduct an interview. My learning curve is steep but I will keep trying to record our great history one person at a time although at times I am not the sharpest interviewer going around. This episode’s interviewee Warren Kerr was part of one of the best teams the Illawarra has ever seen, the Corrimal Rangers/Corrimal United teams of the mid 1950s. Now this comment is subjective and there has been many great teams in the Illawarra over 130 years (for example the South Coast United teams of the 1960s and the Wollongong Wolves of the late 1980s and late 1990s). But I believe the Corrimal Rangers/Corrimal United teams of the mid 1950s would be in the top 5 teams of all time, with ease.In a five year period this team, which contained the likes of Bignell, Young, Peters, Drain, Burns, Learmonth, Harrington, Callan, Wheatley, James, Brown, Pearce, Willoughby won the State Southern/Federation League 4 times, won 2 Sydney Cups, won 1 State Cup and won 2 State League Finals. Warren Kerr was part of these squads and started playing first grade football with these high quality players in State League when he was 15 the only other player at the time who played first grade state league earlier was the great Charlie Stewart (former Socceroo, State Representative and Woonona great) who did it at the age of 14. Regardless of Charlie’s record, Warren’s ascendancy to first grade State League shows the speed and skill Warren must have possessed. He played for Corrimal Rangers in the State League, Corrimal United in the Federation and then Corrimal Rangers in the local league before he retired and concentrated on his Family and work (note he did play a few games for Whyalla when he worked over there for a period of time). A very modest man, Warren after his playing days spent over a decade on the Corrimal Rangers Committee as President and additionally is a Life Member (and his wife Mary was part of the Committee and helps add a couple of comments during this interview, which was very helpful). I hope you enjoy this interview and the insights Warren gives 60 plus years after his playing career had finished.

Joel and Eddie are back with Wests Tigers' Podcast Number 9, with the season edging closer, and a number of NRL trial matches and State Cup trial matches over the weekend.  In a special one-part podcast, the boys discuss the State Cup Trial game between the Magpies and the Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground. Joel was there and tells us how the likes of Jacob Liddle, Chris McQueen, Josh Aloiai, Robbie Rochow and Mahe Fonua performed. Which players pushed their claims, whilst which players failed to fire?  Plus some insight into some of the younger players, and a very interesting thing Joel noticed that was different about the side's warm-up before the game.   We also talk about the signing of Robert Jennings and how the Wests Tigers' back line could be reshuffled as a result.  Will Jennings be seen as a centre or a winger, and who could drop out of the side? Plus, trying to get inside the head of Coach Michael Maguire a few days out from naming his NRL side to trial against the Warriors this weekend.   Enjoy and thanks for listening! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
