Episode 523 of the A Minute to Midnite Show. Tony K is joined by Eric Stogner. Deception has arisen in these last days, and it not only deceives the masses, but could also deceive Christian believers, especially if they are still caught up in worldly events and saviors and have not developed in their spiritual walks so as to have eyes to see and ears to hear the council and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Also, we are entering a new stage of censorship that may take down truth speakers and watchmen on the wall, so people need to learn to discern on their own.

Sarah Stogner is a Republican Candidate running for Texas Railroad Commissioner, the state agency tasked with regulating the oil and gas industry in Texas, in a runoff primary with early voting set for May 16 - 20, and election day is May 24, 2022. Her bio is as follows: "For the past 13 years, Sarah has helped energy-related businesses understand, mitigate, allocate, and manage risk. She is now bringing that experience to help others learn from past experiences and avoid the same mistakes. She's licensed to practice in Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado (pending in Mississippi). And yes - one of her favorite things to do is banter about indemnity provisions and new insurance provision wording. But the world is changing. And the legal industry is slow to adapt. Sarah is actively working with other oil and gas industry leaders to develop smart contracts and utilize blockchain technology to avoid legal issues. We now have data that can prevent accidents. It was nearly impossible to know what happened downhole 60 years ago. That is rapidly changing and she is helping clients develop new ways of contracting and insuring risks by integrating data into legal decisions. She is also helping clients in the cannabis industry. Cannabis, like oil and gas, is a commodity. Federal decriminalization is inevitable, and it will open the industry up for quick and rapid expansion. Cannabis will be grown in the most efficient means possible - no longer restricted by state boundaries and laws. Oil and gas contracts can be modified to allocate risk for cannabis just like we currently do for the energy sector. It's exciting and she's looking forward to making a lasting impact as these legal issues develop." A missing piece of the story of this year's Railroad Commissioner's race is exactly how sharp and well informed Republican candidate Sarah Stogner is. So Chuck put her to the test with The Five Questions.
The Texas Railroad Commission is one of the most important positions in the State of Texas. The Commission serves as a regulatory authority for nearly everything involving the extraction of carbon-based fuels. Sarah Stogner is running for Commissioner and believes the organization could greatly improve on its responsibilities to regulate and ensure Texans are safe and our water remains clean. Sarah passionately laid out her concerns and what she would do to fix the problems in our interview.

This week, Josh and Dietrich are thrilled to bring you the first of what they're calling the Playlist B-Sides, a series of playlists built with the actual subject of the playlist! For our first interview, we're joined by the exceptional and hysterical author Mary Roach. In a writing career that's seen her mugged by monkeys, pestering special forces soldiers about diarrhea, and watching people hump inside an MRI machine for science, Mary's writing has spanned six New York Times bestselling books, ranging from how we handle corpses to how we poop in space. Today, you can hear her talk about her new book Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law, dealing with stubborn government officials, scandalizing her agent, and eagerly venturing forth to find a macaque to mug her, all while providing a unique look at some of the work that has inspired her remarkable career.
This week, Josh and Dietrich attempt something quite different: a playlist about understanding and coping with mental health issues. It's a huge challenge for the pair, who approach it from different angles. Josh looks at work that has portrayed struggles with depression and anxiety, from the astonishing Melancholia to the grim, heartfelt, and moving HBO series The Leftovers. Dietrich discusses media that has helped him better understand the struggle faced by those coping with mental illness, including a webcomic that handles science fiction and trans rights equally deftly, and a video game that uses familiar mechanics to discuss the challenge of staying mentally healthy. Finally, they debate whether the Pixar film Inside Out belongs on this list. In addition, Josh raves about an astonishing urban fantasy novel, Dietrich looks at the newest title from the author of The Martian, and they discuss a movie Dietrich adores and Josh is dying to see. You can send questions or comments to playlistquestions@gmail.com.

For the past 13 years, Sarah Stogner has helped energy-related businesses understand, mitigate, allocate, and manage risk. She is now bringing that experience to help cannabis-related entities learn from other industries and avoid the same mistakes. Sarah is licensed to practice in Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado (pending in Mississippi). Sarah is also helping clients in the cannabis industry. It's exciting and she is looking forward to making a lasting impact as these legal issues develop. She loves helping clients identify, mitigate, and allocate risk through contracts and insurance. Please send Sarah a request to connect with #unicorntribe so she knows you've read this far. @unicornlawyer on Clubhouse. You can also follow her on twitter & instagram: @sarah_e_unicorn. In this episode, we discuss advising cannabis clients. Where does the unicorn name come from? How did Sarah get into cannabis law? What are the most frustrating issues? What the legalization will look like over the next 5 years? What are 3 pieces of advice to someone interested in the cannabis space?
