Today, we're discussing the tragic murder of Austin Metcalf — a case that's not just heartbreaking but deeply revealing of a larger cultural crisis we need to address head-on. I'll be sharing my raw thoughts on what happened, and more importantly, having the uncomfortable (but necessary) conversation surrounding crime statistics in the black community. If we're ever going to see real change — fewer senseless killings, safer neighborhoods, and stronger families — then we have to stop tiptoeing around the truth. It's time to talk about why these patterns keep repeating and what cultural shifts must happen to break the toxic and deadly cycle. This isn't about hate — it's about accountability, truth, and the fight for life, stability, and genuine justice.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmLTSF8TidU6uJpGkHMYzxsnd&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqcO_BhDaARIsACz62vPh4GA_6w_PdX8w4PW0sRhPD76KOyhYBmiEOdpiLXHP1G10c9kaPMEaAkK-EALw_wcB

Culture is one of the factors that shape us growing up. The role of it in our lives has a great impact on our morals and values. For Trish, she learned that her traits and dealing with relationships were heavily influenced by the environment she grew up with. Being aware of it motivated her to improve herself and set a good example for her children. Now, she's doing the same thing to others by encouraging them to be their best authentic selves using her podcast as a medium. For today's episode, I had the pleasure of talking to the host of StrongTalk podcast and my co-host in Clubhouse, Trish Nancoo. She shared about how her podcast made her become open about herself, her relationships with her children, and how other people resonate with her story. She also gave advice to her younger self and to others about resiliency and self-awareness. I welcome you into a growth process I think the Lord may be summoning me into. What do we do when our prayer and fasting about something seems to be fruitless? If I'm reading the words of the Lord in Isaiah 58 right, it may be that we have neglected the ethic of the Lord about the poor, widows, those in bondage, and more. The promised blessing of the Lord for those who get this right is astonishing. -- Brian >> Get the Jesus Smart eLetter and keep current with podcast episode releases Podcast Archive >> JesusSmart.com/podcast
Reflecting on another year that passed by as my birthday approaches, I look back on the mistakes I've continuously been making and the small changes I've implemented which has led to significant improvements in my day to day life.
Is a lie a lie? Are there different types of lies, different degrees to lying? Why do we lie? Are there signs? Can we forgive lies? If you're going through a situations involved being lied to or you're the one lying, this is the episode for you.
I recorded a voice memo on my phone & realized I sounded drunk even though I don't drink & I was just a hot mess so decided to share this recording with my audience for you all to see that I can be a hot mess at times and it's ok.
Misery has plagued us humans since the beginning of time, however, if we took the time to implement some small habits in our lives, we can make some big impacts. On this episode I share 7 habits I've implemented to increase happiness in my life.
In this weeks episode, I explain what Personal Bandwidth is and the concept of recognizing your own Personal Bandwidth so that you can take care of your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
August 22, 2019 Our sons and daughters threatening violence is inexcusable. 30 people have been arrested for threats of mass violence recently and one of them was 15 years old! The mother insisted that's now who her child really is, and sure that may be true until it happens. This is no laughing matter. What do we do with those that threaten mass violence? What is the consequence for such a brazen act? #StrongTalk
Have you ever thought about looking at the world in a supernatural or spiritual dimension? And if so what conclusions did you draw? What would happen if we actually adhered to what religion commanded of us? Is our world today the result of turning our backs on our creator?
August 20, 2019 Is Trump too petty? Does he demean himself by replying to, and commenting on, so much via Twitter? Is he insecure? Let's discuss. #StrongTalk
How far are we going to go before we decide to make some dramatic changes in the media, and our lives, and how we protect ourselves? What do we do. We make these arguments about gun control. What about suicide bomber control! Do you think you can control suicide bombers the way you control guns. No! Because someone who is bent on destruction, eventually they're going to succeed. We need to take a closer look at ourselves and how we can be better, and how we can make a better society. And how we can stop this in its tracks. I mean it's like Armageddon, a slow Armageddon. It's destructive. When will it stop. Can we stop it? #StrongTalk
I do not believe there was any reason for President Trump to encourage another head of state to ban a member of congress from visiting their country. And on top of that... to tweet out that he though Chris Cuomo was Fredo? Come on Mr. President... we can do better than that! #StrongTalk
Congressman Steven King from Iowa wondered if there would “be any population of the world left” if not for rape and incest. Let's think about this... certainly if you're a creationist you have to allow for a high degree of incest? And what about ancient societies that we laud for conquering the known world? What about the Christopher Columbus and other Europeans conquering the new world? That is to say nothing of the royal lineages and child brides. Does Steve King have a point? Secondly, how on earth did Jeffrey Epstein end up with a broken neck? Do you have any idea how hard it is to break a neck from hanging? It wasn't fully effective when criminals and dissidents were hung in the galleys, and they were dropped! Where did Epstein drop from? Did that old man jump from his bunk? What do you think? #StrongTalk
August 14, 2019 What do you know about Africa? Why are African countries still falling behind in development? They must invest in science and technology, that's the secret to wealth in the industrial world. Africa has fallen behind but has more than enough potential to catch and even surpass the United States and other Western nations. I understand Chris Cuomo, I understand his reaction, I understand his feeling insulted. The F bombs were just a little too much. Being a public figure creates a frustrating dichotomy. We have our public persona, which somehow allows people to feel like they really know you, and then there's our actually humanity. The public forgets we are still people too, we have feelings. As a public figure we have to take the high road and maintain our personal dignity. We cannot allow ourselves to be baited! What do you think? #StrongTalk
August 13, 2019 Are we allowed to vet those who wish to enter our country? Starting in October becoming a resident is contingent upon an aggressive wealth test. The wealth test is to ensure that the immigrants we are welcoming into the country are able to support themselves. What's wrong with having people that can afford to take care of themselves come to the country? Our government struggles with the 300 million Americans that are already here. Every major city has scores of homeless, let's focus on what matters. Should Biden be disqualified or dismissed because he's always putting his foot in his mouth? Let's keep the conversation going #StrongTalk
August 12, 2019 Just how dumb do "they" think we are? Suicide? Suicide!? Oh please... When you think about all of the names that came up in regard to Epstein's case, he had to die! Too many people had too much to lose. Can you imagine what the autopsy might say? #StrongTalk
I know you're the kind of person that will step up in a time of need. These kids are crying out, we've got to get to know our community. Especially the children. They need help and they're lashing out, even taking their own lives. Social media is not helping. We need to do more, superficial policies are no longer going to be effective. We need to step up.
Can you imagine that the media would use the recent mass shootings as a political weapon against Trump. What do they hope to achieve? The shooters in these incidents are usually white men - why is that? There is a clear lack of religious faith and conviction in society. Do you think our religious leaders could help troubled individuals before they are pushed to commit acts of evil? Chime in #StrongTalk
