Today, we're discussing the tragic murder of Austin Metcalf — a case that's not just heartbreaking but deeply revealing of a larger cultural crisis we need to address head-on. I'll be sharing my raw thoughts on what happened, and more importantly, having the uncomfortable (but necessary) conversation surrounding crime statistics in the black community. If we're ever going to see real change — fewer senseless killings, safer neighborhoods, and stronger families — then we have to stop tiptoeing around the truth. It's time to talk about why these patterns keep repeating and what cultural shifts must happen to break the toxic and deadly cycle. This isn't about hate — it's about accountability, truth, and the fight for life, stability, and genuine justice.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmLTSF8TidU6uJpGkHMYzxsnd&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqcO_BhDaARIsACz62vPh4GA_6w_PdX8w4PW0sRhPD76KOyhYBmiEOdpiLXHP1G10c9kaPMEaAkK-EALw_wcB

Scott Bennett is the Program Director for the Marine Biologic Lab's Striped Bass Magic research program and the MBL's Marine Resources Department manager. He grew up in Chicago fishing in freshwater lakes. As a teenager, he started coming to Cape Cod during the summers, where he developed a love for saltwater fishing. He earned a BA in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University in 2005 and a Master's Degree in Comparative Physiology focusing on cranial endothermy in tunas from Cal State Fullerton in 2013. Prior to graduate school, he spent several years at the American Museum of Natural History in the Department of Ichthyology, assisting with research on understanding the evolutionary relationships between various species of fish. Marine Biologic Lab's Striped Bass Magic research program is doing great work to better understand the biology and movements of striped bass. They conduct their ongoing research in an eel pond which is home to a seasonally resident striped bass population, some of which have returned to this same pond for multiple years in a row. the longitudinal data they have collected has been very beneficial to understanding striped bass biology and movements. If you want to learn more about their research, check out the Striped Bass Magic website The discussion covers a range of topics including the behavior, migration, and habits of striped bass in various environments. Bennett elaborates on the research methodologies used, including PIT and acoustic telemetry tags, and their findings, such as the correlation between striped bass movements and barometric pressure. The conversation also delves into the application of AI in fish identification and a collaborative research project with the Wampanoag tribe at Squibnocket. Jenkins and Bennett reflect on how this extensive research can influence recreational fishing practices. 00:36 Meet Today's Guest: Marine Biologist Scott Bennett 02:37 The Striped Bass Magic Research Program 05:03 Tagging Techniques and Tools 08:04 Behavioral Patterns and Circadian Rhythms 24:26 Individual vs. Group Behavior 29:56 Investigating Striped Bass Migrations 31:06 Experiments with Fingerlings and Iron Deposits 32:48 Adult Fish and Electromagnetic Field Experiments 33:45 Tagging and Tracking Striped Bass 38:48 AI in Fish Identification 45:10 Collaborative Research with Squibnocket Native American Tribe 52:33 Concluding Thoughts and Future Research

Adam B. Coleman is the author of “Black Victim to Black Victor” and founder of Wrong Speak Publishing.Black Victim To Black Victor: Identifying the Ideologies, Behavioral Patterns and Cultural Norms that Encourage a Victimhood Complex With the success of the first edition of this book, came an opportunity to polish this "underdog" book with more editorial clarity that helps to make the original book shine through. Adam B. Coleman, New York Post contributor, and Human Events columnist, believes that Black Americans are constantly lied to about the source of their community's issues to profit off their pain and to make sure that they never leave the mindset of the victim. Adam believes in order to move forward in American society, black people must be critical of all sectors of Black culture and the people who profit off the mainstream Black victim messaging. Coleman believes that with honesty, love, ownership, and responsibility, black Americans can leave behind the victim mentality for the truly empowering victor mindset. Once “victor-hood” is embraced, we can achieve a more peaceful union with the rest of American society and stop accepting conflict within the black community as normality. Adam is a columnist for Human Events, a frequent contributor for The New York Post, and has articles published in Newsweek, The Federalist, The Epoch Times, Daily Mail, The Post Millennial, Unherd, ScoonTV, Free Black Thought, Life News HQ & Human Defense Initiative. He has also appeared on FOX News, Talk TV, Fox Business, Newsmax, The Hill's “Rising”, Sky News Australia, OAN, The First TV and numerous podcasts. Narcissism is not a black and white concept, but rather a spectrum. It is important to understand narcissism through a trauma-informed and internal family systems lens. Those who experience narcissistic abuse often have core emotional wounds and protector parts that come up to distract and soothe them. Healing from narcissistic abuse is a lifelong journey that involves building capacity in the nervous system, regulating emotions, and re-parenting the wounded inner child. Community support and validation are crucial for healing from narcissistic abuse.

Alicia Kay is a distinguished professional with a wealth of experience spanning over twenty years in dealing with trauma and psychotherapy. Having undergone an impactful personal transformation herself, Alicia's perspective on trauma and psychotherapy is underpinned by both professional knowledge and personal experience. She strongly believes in introspection as a means to understand and heal from emotional pain, trauma, and shame that can hinder spiritual growth. Through her own emotional exploration, she was able to understand the root cause of her struggles and transform those experiences into lessons for others. Kay advocates for a combined approach of traditional therapy and holistic healing, which takes into account unconscious beliefs, feelings, and patterns. She opposes the idea of medicating individuals based on diagnoses and encourages reliance on intuitive intelligence for guidance in the healing process. Kay's views highlight the transformational potential of confronting and healing trauma to discover one's true self and purpose.Time Stamps:(00:11:22) Exploring Transformation Through Self-Reflection and Healing(00:12:39) Healing through confronting deep emotional wounds(00:16:48) Trauma's Influence on Understanding Others' Behaviors(00:21:38) Exploring Core Wounds for Personal Transformation(00:30:32) Navigating Personal Growth Through Self-Awareness(00:32:19) Shifting Focus Towards Self-Reflection and Growth(00:49:23) Shame-Based Coping Mechanisms in Addiction(00:55:05) Shame as Root Cause of Addiction(00:56:59) Emotional Triggers in Addiction Recovery Protocol(01:04:16) Healing Trauma through Unconscious Behavior Exploration(01:09:19) Fostering Children's Mental Resilience Through Empowerment(01:17:51) Healing Trauma Through Somatic Breath Awareness(01:22:13) Tailoring Breath Work for Individual ReadinessConnect with Alicia:Book a FREE discovery call Alicia here: www.aliciakay.as.me/discoverAsk Alicia about her 6 month program "Breakthrough Bliss" - Designed to help you clear out emotional blocks, trauma and aling with your authentic self.- Website: https://www.aliciakaycoaching.com/- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aliciakaycoaching/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aliciakaycoaching- YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvlCVoy6T_Tb3lBOjjy11ng/featuredConnect with Lance:* Grab a copy Mastering Adversity Book: https://a.co/d/c8HXL6j * * Tired of being the best kept secret? https://youtu.be/RhYikrrSQKY The victim mentality always sees life as a struggle against opposing forces. Victim versus oppressor. Black versus white. Democrat versus Republican. Liberal versus conservative. Tolerant versus racist. These counter forces are a means to divide people into a smaller and more controllable tribe, making life simply about us versus them and asking everyone whose side they are on; choose wisely. Racial division is among the strongest method to keep black people submissive and making them fearful of straying away from the controlled narrative. - Adam B. These five behavioral patterns may unknowingly be keeping you stuck in your emotional eating cycle. It's important to identify if you are stuck in these patterns and shift them, otherwise you may remain stuck in the pattern of using food to self-soothe. And we're all about changing that! The five patterns I cover are:The shame-blame game (and refusing to forgive yourself)Thinking over feeling (you can't think your way out of a binge)Pushing through without pause (you're not a machine that can run on unconscious autopilot) All work, no play (if food is your only source of “fun” then we've got a problem)Putting everyone before yourself (no wonder you don't have energy left to make the changes you want) In this episode I share what these five patterns are, how they directly affect your eating habits, and what to begin doing moving forward to improve these behavioral patterns in order to support improving your eating patterns (win-win!)Interested in applying to work with Sarah? The body holds far more wisdom than we give it credit for. This week on the podcast, Lindsey and Nicole chat with Kobe Campbell, LCMHC, about grief, trauma, and their manifold impacts on our physical experience. Kobe vulnerably shares her healing journey with us—from a childhood filled with unnamed depression and anxiety that showed up as utter despair when she became a young adult, to the power of her life-altering work with her own therapist and her epiphany that perhaps the entirety of her story was preparing her to become a healer as well. Kobe clearly and plainly addresses our need to return to the painful parts of our pasts to move forward from a place of freedom and holds space for the idea that healing power exists where trauma meets the divine. “My search for black identity was something that I actually enjoyed, until I started noticing that there was a level of animosity that comes with it that's being preached. It is a celebration of being black and also is a rejection of ‘white.'”Adam Coleman is the founder of WrongSpeak Publishing and author of “Black Victim to Black Victor: Identifying the Ideologies, Behavioral Patterns, and Cultural Norms that Encourage a Victimhood Complex.”“Human existence is filled with struggle. It's just a matter of do you take that struggle and hold on to it as some sort of weapon to levy at the rest of society? Or do you use that struggle as a reason to overcome it?” says Coleman.Coleman believes the American public education system has failed its students and that a policy of school choice is the solution. He says that growing up without a father made it especially challenging for him to cultivate an identity, and that single parenthood is devastating to the black community. Coleman says that family planning is of utmost importance in order to improve society.“The home is the first government we should be worried about,” says Coleman. “The problem is that for a lot of people, it's highly dysfunctional, and then they look elsewhere for the solution.”

Serial killer Vincent Groves claims to have killed dozens of people. But how high was his actual body count? Phelps is joined by Detective Steve Connor to reveal the answers. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Our brain indeed controls the functions in our body. But do you realize that our body sends signals to our brain? Our mind and body are linked intrinsically, but our mind interprets what initially happens to our body. When a stressful event happens - and by stressful, we mean traumatic - something happens to our body. It can get overwhelmed, freeze, and turn survival mode on. It's not only our brain that keeps track of the event. Instead, our body holds on to memories of trauma, too. And much of the way our brain responds is centered on what happened during a stressful experience in the past.Trauma carries negative thoughts and feelings of deep hurt, feelings of threat, and anger. If these thoughts and feelings aren't released, they become pent-up emotions that live in our cells and get reactivated when similarly stressful situations happen. What happens next is that a feedback loop that continually runs between the mind and body is created. Because of the wrong decisions we make based on a trauma response, we keep getting the wrong results and complain about being stuck in the hamster wheel. That is where Somatic Therapy can help release trapped emotions inside our body structure and its parts.Tune in to this episode as our guest, Marina Yanay-Triner speaks about how Somatic Therapy can help release trapped emotions through a mind-body approach to healing trauma. In Episode #215, I'm joined by Dr Richard Johnson to discuss obesity, fructose, and metabolic disease. “Fructose” has become something of a fear word in modern diet culture. It is often positioned as the villain, without the in-depth breakdown of where we are sourcing this fructose and the quantities it is consumed in. Similarly, the relationship between health and obesity is hotly contested. Dr Richard Johnson sits down with me today to clarify the scientific relationship between these factors, getting into what the evidence tells us. In this episode, we take a broader view at the history of obesity before honing in on the biology and mechanisms. We discuss the ideology of obesity, whether you can be healthy at any size, and the degree of risk related to where you store fat. We also cover a variety of animal studies, sources of fructose, and how the modern food environment shapes our body weight. Specifically, we discuss: Intro [0:00] History of Obesity [2:30] Body Fat & Health Span [10:36] Causes & Behavioral Patterns [23:55] Fructose vs Excess Calories [38:18] The Hazda [1:03:50] Fructose & Fruit [1:11:10] Fruitarians [1:22:25] Not All Carbs are the Same [1:32:30] Purines & Uric Acid [1:39:55] Carnivore Diet [1:42:22] Summarizing Obesity [1:53:56] Outro [2:02:46] To connect with Dr Richard Johnson, you can find him on Instagram and Twitter. Are your behaviors on repeat? Do you even know what you're doing half the time…or why? Rest assured, behavioral patterns are built into our psychology. They help us make quick decisions—like always running the other direction when something is trying to eat you. But sometimes those patterns can be a source of frustration, especially if they don't result in the desired outcome (like when you're emotionally triggered and reacting to someone). But you keep doing it because, well, it's a pattern and you're on autopilot. And in business, patterns aren't just about an individual. There are relational patterns that occur when people communicate. So that's what we're talking about today: patterns, and how to break the ones that aren't serving you. It's a lot easier to disrupt them when you recognize they're happening and you know what triggers them. Behavioral patterns are a strong determinant of one's life and just like adults ensure to cultivate positive routines in their life, it is important that children do the same. These can be patterns like what time to go to bed, how many hours you spend on your phone or where you place your keys or bag. Once such patterns are nurtured at a young age, the likelihood of children practicing such patterns as they grow up is high. Julie De-Lucca Collins shared her expertise on this subject in this episode. As a Holistic Business and Life Coach, Julie helps confused and overwhelmed women build and run a business, create the right strategy, habits, and daily action to be profitable and make a positive impact. She shared with us in this episode how positive habits in children can influence their lives for the better. “All lawyer advertisements don't have to fit the same mold,” says Adam Warren, President and Co-Founder of OpenJar Concepts. After initially launching OpenJar Concepts, Adam and his partner primarily focused on producing award-winning TV advertisements for their clients. While Adam is still a firm believer in the power of TV marketing, he also understands the importance of expanding into other media platforms. With his unique media strategies and forward-thinking approach, Adam has redesigned his company to better predict consumer behavioral patterns. When Adam designs marketing strategies for his clients, he encourages them to utilize multiple media platforms. Rather than steadfastly sticking to TV and radio campaigns, Adam explains the benefits a diverse presence provides a law firm to reach their perfect clients. To grow and scale your business in a continuously advancing world, it is crucial to meet consumers where they are. Tune into this week's episode of the We Do Marketing Hour Podcast to learn more about the evolution of digital marketing, the importance of diversifying your business strategies, and how Adam's innovative marketing mindset is changing the way law firms approach advertising in the future. Quotes • “We started recognizing that there were a lot of law firms that wanted to get into mass tort either through harmful drugs or medical devices but didn't want their names to be so front and center.” (11:14-11:34) • “Once we get those initial inquiries back to the law firm on how they plan to approach each case, then we can figure out on a one-by-one basis if we're going to bring them into the fold or not.” (21:46-22:00) • “All lawyer advertisements don't have to fit the same mold.” (32:17-32:19) • “I want to make sure that I can deliver on the full service capacity that we are promoting.” (35:19-35:22) • “It's going to continuously be the job of our team to keep their hand on the pulse of not just what's happening now, but what's possibly coming tomorrow.” (35:34-35:47) • “If you go in and say you want performance media only, you're precluding yourself from all sorts of other targeted media that might work really well for you.” (25:03-25:11) • “Most people's TV screens are now being carried around in their pockets all day. Or it's become their tablet, or their laptop.” (29:36-29:45) Links For a FREE 1:1 consultation with Alex please visit: https://calendly.com/wdwc-alex/15min?month=2021-06 Link with Alex on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wedowebcontent/ For guest speaker and topic requests, please send all inquiries to We Do Web Content's Director of Marketing Dina Davis, at contact@thewedomarketinghour.com

Today on Energy Matters Arden Sundari, yoga therapist and yogini, returns to explore the connection between the polyvagal nervous system and our ancestral ties. She begins to unpack epigenetics (the non-coding DNA) and how we inherit 14 generations of personality and behavioral patterns. Arden begins to examine how we can transform these inherited patterns through calming our nervous system. She also connects this work to our current race relations in our country. Tune in a great show!
Everything is energy, including our patterns of behavior in relationships. In this episode, we explore how and when it is possible to shift these energy patterns by “cutting cords” and releasing ourselves from “Soul Contracts.” We also explore some common misconceptions about how energy healing works, and what to look for in an energy healing practitioner. Key takeaways:** Energy healing works through intention. When we align with the intention to heal and to grow in our relationships, we naturally shift our energy. **Cord cutting is an energetic way of setting an intention such as, ‘I am ready to let this person or situation go.'**Energy healers can work with our energy, but they cannot override our own deepest wishes, desires and beliefs. **You cannot release a relationship or behavior pattern until you have learned what you need to learn from the experience. Cutting cords only works when you are truly ready to let go. **Wherever you are on your journey, you are exactly where you are supposed to be.**You can't solve a problem on the metaphysical level and skip the human part.**True healing and growth always flows from within.Connect and learn with me here:https://victoriashawintuitive.com/www.instagram.com/victoriashawintuitivehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/Intuitiveconnectioncommunityhttps://victoriashawintuitive.com/courses/activating-your-intuition/On Clubhouse: @victoriashaw

One of the most difficult discussions to have within the church has to be the issues surrounding spiritual, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse. So much damage and pain has been done by pastors and leaders who have not learned how to exercise godly authority over the flock they are supposed to protect and lead. This is part 2 of a series where I am covering different elements and situations on how abusers operate within the church. I will continue to focus on helping listeners develop an awareness of the backgrounds of abusers, as well as describe how they relate in relationships, and what situations make them more likely to do so.Tune in today as I describe what characteristics abusers display. Specifically, I discuss: - Some common aspects of their history and upbringing, - Behavioral patterns in relationships (relational characteristics), and - Situations in which abuse is likely to happen (situational characteristics). This was a difficult topic to cover, and I only covered a few points, but if you have any questions or comments at all, please email me at slconnect08@gmail.com.Remember to please LEAVE A REVIEW for the podcast as it helps get the word out to a larger audience, and remember to SUBSCRIBE and/or follow on Itunes, Spotify, Stitcher, GooglePlay, and all other podcast platforms. If you're on Facebook and/or Instagram, I'd greatly appreciate it if you SHARE this episode! :)FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM:https://bit.ly/2UyNeLaFOLLOW ME ON FACEBOOK:https://www.facebook.com/samlanda23/ABOUT ME

Today, we are looking at large data sets, from a population standpoint, asking if there are ways we can figure out why people actually seek out healthcare and solutions to their pain. We welcome Dr. Derek Clewley, from Duke University, who has been researching behavioral attributes towards healthcare services. His goal has been to use this information to predict healthcare utilization, which, of course, can help us to better understand and serve patients with persistent pain. Derek, Tim, and Jeff discuss Derek’s findings and how we can understand where the patient is coming from, what their expectations are, and what their experiences have been. They’ll discuss how we measure these findings and ensure we’re utilizing correct comparisons so we can best treat our patients. He founded Ellipsis Behavior Laboratories in 2011 and is the creator of the Behavioral Table of Elements. Chase frequently develops new programs for the US Government and offers his skills in training members of anti-human trafficking teams around the world. He is also the author of the best-selling book, “The Ellipsis Manual: Analysis and Engineering of Human Behavior.” Interview Summary: In this interview, Chase begins by explaining how someone can get better at reading the behavior and body language of others. He describes a number of behavioral cues that signify interest and disinterest, specifically in regards to attraction. Chase then talks about why trust is so important in the courtship process, and reveals common signals of trust. He also explains how to tell when someone is becoming less interested. Next, we ask Chase how people can mitigate anxiety and stop giving off mixed messages. He discusses where anxiety comes from, and offers strategies for opening up our body language. He then outlines the five character traits that create obedience and followership in others: confidence, discipline, leadership, gratitude, and enjoyment. Chase explains how microgestures influence the internal feelings of people that we're interacting with. He also discusses the authority self-assessment matrix and how to use it to rate our level of influence. Chase goes into more detail on the five character traits. First, he describes what confidence entails, and discusses the typical qualities and behavior of a person with "Level 5" confidence. Then he talks about discipline and explains how we can be both a butler and a disciplinarian for ourselves. We also ask Chase for some tips on goal setting. Next, he describes leadership, and shares advice on how to develop leadership skills. Finally, he discusses gratitude and enjoyment, and explains how to start embodying these qualities in our day to day lives. Chase then talks about composure and how it affects persuasion. He describes a couple of psychological experiments that demonstrate how humans are hardwired to obey authority. He explains why slowness of movement is a great indicator of composure. Chase also discusses how authority creates trust, and why trust is the ultimate aphrodisiac. He offers a number of strategies for connecting more deeply with others, as well as how to communicate this effectively. Finally, Chase discusses the role that charisma plays in building connections. We ask him what human needs people crave, and how we can use this knowledge to improve our social interactions. He talks about how people always seek one of the three main needs: appreciation, approval, or acceptance. Chase emphasizes the importance of making the other person feel significant and treating them as they want to be seen. He leaves us with some tips on how to overcome social masking and get people to behave more authentically. In this episode, I'm talking about the importance of TRULY showing up to create the life we really want. We can be very ambivalent when it comes to relationships with others, but that same ambivalence exists within us when our NO's and YES's don't come from an embodied place, and leaks into other areas of our lives. Stop delaying what you're becoming, create the abundance you seek, give birth to your purpose and passion, and step fully into the opportunity that 2024 can be.
