It's Monday, September 22nd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus South Korean pastor has disappeared A week after Pastor Son Hyun-bo from Busan Segyeoro Church in South Korea was arrested for violating public election laws, little information has been made public about his well-being or whereabouts, reports International Christian Concern. Pastor Son, who was arrested on September 8th, is facing the charges in part for allegedly interviewing an election candidate, Jeong Seung-yoon, during a church service and uploading a video of the conversation to social media. He also faces allegations of holding a “prayer service for victory” at Jeong's campaign office and stating, “We must vote for the right-wing candidate and truly establish God's kingdom.” Pastor Son has been active in contending against government overreach, including serving as a leader of the “Save Korea” group, which campaigns against the current left-leaning South Korean President Lee Myung, prime minister, and Democratic Party, who are in power. The outcry against Pastor Son's arrest has been strong. One representative stated openly that, “Pastor Son's arrest is not about an individual but a suppression of all religious figures.” Charlie Kirk's memorial pointed the world to Christ I felt compelled to attend Charlie Kirk's memorial at State Farm Arena in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday. (You can watch it here) So, on Friday and Saturday, my bride, Amy, and I drove 15 hours over two days from San Antonio, Texas with our three children – Honor, age 15, Mercy, age 13, and Valor, age 10 – to celebrate his life and grieve his death at the hands of an assassin's bullet on September 10th at Utah Valley University. Reportedly, 300,000 people from across America came by car and plane. Our family sat in the State Farm Arena which held 63,400 people. Next door, the Desert Diamond Arena held an additional 20,000 people who watched big video screens. Beginning with Christian worship led by Brandon Lake, Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, as well as Cody and Kari Carnes, it was a deeply moving experience as speaker after speaker echoed Charlie Kirk's call to come to Christ. Benny Johnson came to faith in Christ through Charlie Kirk Benny Johnson, a conservative influencer, was quite candid. JOHNSON: “When Charlie first met me, I was a degenerate loser. I was addicted to alcohol. I had no wife, I had no kids. I had nothing going for me. After 10 years of work with Charlie Kirk, after his witnessing to my life, I have become a Christ-centered man. I am happily married to the woman of my dreams, sitting right there with our youngest son, who just turned eight months.” He framed the assassination of Charlie Kirk in light of the truth of Genesis 50:20. JOHNSON: “What man intends for evil. God intends for good. Evil thought that there would be a funeral today. God has created a revival right here in this house right now.” (applause) Indeed, through the 3,200 chapters of Turning Point USA not only are more college students equipped with the truth, but many are coming to Christ. Frank Turek: Why Charlie Kirk is in Heaven Frank Turek is a Christian apologist who mentored Charlie with the best answers to tough questions about Christianity. TUREK: “I want you to know that Charlie right now is in Heaven, not because he was a great husband and father. Not because he saved millions of kids out of darkness on college campuses. Not because he changed minds and chased votes to save the country. Not because he sacrificed himself for his savior. Charlie Kirk is in Heaven because his Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk.” Tucker Carlson: “The only real solution is Jesus.” Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson explained what made Charlie Kirk unique. CARLSON: “The main thing about Charlie and his message, he was bringing the Gospel to the country. He was doing the thing that the people in charge hate most, which is calling for them to repent. “So how is Charlie's message different? Charlie was a political person who was deeply interested in coalition building and in getting the right people in office because he knew that vast improvements are possible politically. But he also knew that politics is not the final answer. It can't answer the deepest questions, actually. The only real solution is Jesus.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted Charlie's boldness and affirmation of marriage Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted Charlie Kirk's boldness. RUBIO: “Charlie Kirk was bold. He actively sought out to engage --peacefully, respectfully -- those who he disagreed with. As recently as two days ago, we learned of one of the hosts on CNN, who said that one of the messages he had gotten just a few days before Charlie's passing, was from him, inviting him to dialogue. “And he did this on campuses. He did this on podcasts. He did this on radio shows. He did this on television shows. Time and again, he sought to engage those he disagreed with because he understood that we were not created to isolate ourselves from one another, but to engage. “The irony in all this is that what our nation needs is the ability to discuss our differences openly, honestly, peacefully, respectfully. And Charlie Kirk did that more than anyone alive in America today is doing. This was the mission and work of Charlie Kirk.” And Secretary of State Rubio appreciated Charlie's affirmation of marriage and family to young people. RUBIO: “Understand where we are still today. In many places where young Americans are actively told that everything that they were taught, that all the foundations that made our society and our civilization so grand, they were all wrong. They were all evil, that marriage is oppressive, that children are a burden, that America is a source of evil, not of good, in the world. “And here was this voice that inspired a movement in which young Americans were told that is not true, the highest calling we are called to is to be in a successful marriage and to raise productive children.” War Secretary Hegseth: “Live worthy of Charlie Kirk's sacrifice and put Christ at the center” War Secretary Pete Hegseth explained that Charlie Kirk used the gift of persuasion on college campuses. HEGSETH: “Charlie waged war, not with a weapon, but with a tent, a microphone, his mind, and the truth. And the gates of hell could not prevail against him.” (Matthew 16:17-19) Secretary Hegseth spoke of Christian revival. HEGSETH: “Charlie started a political movement, but unleashed a spiritual revival. My pastor texted me the day after that horrific event and said, ‘Pete, the devil overplayed his hand.' Charlie started with liberty, but ended up lighting our country on fire for Christ. He started Turning Point USA, but this moment is the turning point for the USA.” And Secretary Hegseth gave America a charge in light of Charlie Kirk's Christian legacy. HEGSETH: “Charlie Kirk was a citizen who had the biblical heart of a soldier of the faith, who put on every single day the full armor of God (Ephesians 6) with a smile as the Scriptures tell all Christ followers to do. Charlie Kirk: a warrior for country, a warrior for Christ. He ran the race. He finished the fight. Now, it's our turn. My charge to all of you: Live worthy of Charlie Kirk's sacrifice and put Christ at the center of your life as he advocated for giving his.” Colossians 1:10 says, “Live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” Donald Trump, Jr. compared Charlie Kirk's martyrdom with Stephen Donald Trump, Jr. compared the martyrdom of Stephen with the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk. TRUMP JR: “Last week, Charlie joined a long line of courageous men and women who were martyred for what they believe. According to the book of Acts, the first martyr in the early Christian church was Stephen who was stoned to death. And as Stephen was being killed, he said, ‘Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing, standing, at the right hand of God.' “There are many times in the Bible where Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, but this is the only time he's seen standing. And while the Bible isn't explicit about this, I like to think Jesus was standing to welcome Stephen, the courageous martyr into Heaven. Today. that gives me great comfort because 11 days ago, as a cowardly assassin crawled on his stomach to end Charlie's life on Earth, I'm betting Charlie saw the son of God standing tall to welcome him home.” Vice President J.D. Vance admired Charlie Kirk's courage Vice President J.D. Vance shared that he's been personally emboldened to share his faith more since Kirk's assassination. VANCE: “You know, I was telling somebody backstage that I always felt a little uncomfortable talking about my faith in public as much as I loved the Lord and as much it was an important part of my life. I have talked more about Jesus Christ in the past two weeks than I have my entire time in public life.” (cheers) Vice President Vance is upset that some on the Left actually cheered Charlie Kirk's death. VANCE: “He was taken from us by those who despise the virtues that actually made our civilization great to begin with: dialogue, truth, seeking family and faith. In the wake of his death, we have seen some of the very worst parts of humanity. We have watched people slander him. We have watched people justify his murder and celebrate his death.” And Vice President Vance admired Charlie Kirk's courage. VANCE: “It is better to face a gunman than to live your life afraid to speak the truth. It is better to be persecuted for your faith than to deny the kingship of Christ. It is better to die a young man in this world than to sell your soul for an easy life with no purpose, no risk, no love, and no truth.” Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Erika Kirk forgave her husband's killer And finally, Erika Kirk, Charlie's widow, who will now serve as the CEO of Turning Point USA, said something remarkable that brought all of us to our feet. ERIKA KIRK: “On the cross, our Savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.' (Luke 23:34) “That man, [Tyler Robinson], I forgive him. (applause as she wept) I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it's what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer, we know from the Gospel, is love, always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.” Ephesians 4:32 commands, “Forgive one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, September 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2025. In this candid discussion, show host Gene Tunny joins a panel to expose the shortcomings of the Australian Government's August 2025 economic reform summit. Topics include the high cost of energy, tax policy, the ballooning NDIS and big government generally, AI regulation, and Senator Matt Canavan's rival roundtable, which Gene attended. This episode borrows the audio from Damian Coory's The Other Side episode broadcast on YouTube on 22 August 2025. This risks stifling technological advancement and missing opportunities for productivity gains.NDIS Costs Are Spiralling Out of Control: The National Disability Insurance Scheme is growing at an unsustainable rate, with concerns about high eligibility and inadequate oversight. About the Show:“Why did nobody tell me about this?”– Dr. Kristin MarkellIn this episode of I Am Northwest Arkansas®, host Randy Wilburn sits down with Dr. Kristin Markell, an integrative medicine specialist helping women navigate the often-overlooked journey of perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Markell combines her experience as a traditional OB/GYN with holistic, whole-person strategies to provide personalized care for women in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.Together, Randy and Dr. Markell break down the basics of perimenopause and menopause—including what these terms really mean, when symptoms can start, and why every woman's experience is unique. Dr. Markell shares her personal and professional journey, the frustration women feel about the lack of education on these topics, and how integrative medicine can help women feel their best through this stage of life. The episode also explores how families, employers, and the wider community can better support women during this transition, as well as the emerging innovations and digital tools empowering women to take charge of their health. If you're a woman, love a woman, work with women, or are simply curious, this is an important conversation for you.Key Takeaways:Menopause is natural but often misunderstood: Most women aren't taught about perimenopause and menopause early enough. Symptoms can start as early as a woman's 30s—not just in the 50s or 60s—and everyone's experience is different.Definitions matter: Menopause is officially when a woman hasn't had a period for one year; perimenopause is the 7-10 years leading up to that.Symptoms are more than hot flashes: Every area of the body can be affected, from brain fog and anxiety to fatigue, aches, and sexual health changes. You don't have to “just deal with it”: Dr. Markell urges women not to “white knuckle” through symptoms—there are treatments and support, including both hormonal and non-hormonal options.Integrative medicine offers personalized care: Dr. Markell's approach looks at the whole person, from nutrition to stress to long-term wellness, not just the symptoms.Support is a team effort: Family, partners, co-workers, and employers all play a role in helping women thrive during this time.Resources are growing: New digital tools, wearables, and dedicated clinics (including right here in NWA!) are giving women greater access to care and information. All this and more on this episode of the I Am Northwest Arkansas® podcast.Important Links and Mentions on the Show* Dr. Kristin Markell's Website: https://kristinmarkellmd.comThe Menopause Society: https://www.menopause.orgDr. Markell on Instagram: @kristenmarkellmdDr. Markell on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristinmarkellmd/Contact Dr. Markell's Office: 479-222-0966You can listen to the I Am Northwest Arkansas® podcast weekly on KUAF 91.3 FM's Ozarks at Large(Other resources and episodes mentioned: Mel Robbins, “The Diary of a CEO” with Steven Bartlett, Dr. Peter Attia & Dr. Rachel Rubin Podcast, Midi Health, Electra Health)FindItNWA.com NWA's Hyperlocal Business DirectoryThis episode is sponsored by*Signature Bank of Arkansas "Community Banking at its Best!"
The metaverse is often thought of as an alternative virtual space, a world separate from reality where we can hang out with avatars of our friends and families, or shop at virtual stores. But the industrial metaverse ties the physical and the virtual much more closely together, with a focus that is less on photorealism,... EP #332 - Beyond the Hot Flash! An interview with Holistic Nutritional Coach, Diahana Barnes I'm honored to welcome Diahana Barnes, a Holistic Nutritional Coach and a very dear friend, to Empowering Chats. Diahana is launching a virtual summit on August 4th entitled Beyond the Hot Flash: Real Talk, Real Solutions. In this conversation, Diahana shares why she felt called to create this summit. She talks about being divinely guided—literally feeling the message drop into her heart—that this was something she had to do for women. One of Diahana's many gifts is bringing people together to create meaningful, impactful events. She did this while working in the corporate field, and now she brings that same talent to her private coaching practice. Her heart kept saying, “I want to create something beyond the hot flash” That's where the title came from—but the summit is about so much more than just what's happening in our bodies. Diahana shares that it could be about becoming an empty nester, dreaming of travel, or just being sick of cooking and needing new inspiration. That's what sparked the idea for this virtual summit. She also shared the need to talk about the physical changes and about hormones, nutrition and wellness, and that's not where it ends. It was important to Diahana to also bring together experts that offer real insights and have honest, heart-to-heart conversations about what we as women are going through. It's important to find real solutions to help us on this journey. I am thrilled to share that I will be one of the experts offering advice and guidance on Diahana's virtual summit. I asked Diahana if there were one or two “a-ha” moments that stood out for her—anything new she learned in the process. She said one was the message of “just go—just do it.” Too often, she says, we come up with excuses for why we can't do the thing our heart is calling us to do. Herself included. The second a-ha she received was about the power of taking a daily sabbatical. It can be a 5, 10, or 30 minute pause—whatever works for you—but it's important to take a moment for yourself it can be transformative. This intentional pause inspired her to start building those moments into her own life. As she put it, “Little micro-habits and indulgences can truly change your life for the better.” For more details and information on how to register for Diahana's Virtual Summit, Beyond the Hot Flash: Real Talk, Real Solutions visit: BeyondTheHotFlashSummit.com To learn more about Diahana visit: DiahanaBarnes.com To learn more about how I show up in the world visit: SusanBurrell.com

This is Part 1 of my live Q&A session where I tackled the real food struggles women physicians face every day. No BS, just honest answers to honest questions. In this episode, I answer: How to manage emotional eating when you're dealing with ongoing chronic stress (like caring for a teen with chronic health issues while working as a physician) What to do about those 2 AM call room binges when you're exhausted and surrounded by treats Why starting feels so hard even when you "know what to do" and want to lose weight so badly This isn't generic diet advice. This is physician-specific support for the unique crap we deal with - from anticipatory stress before call shifts to feeling like you need to give up everything you love just to lose weight. Perfect for any woman physician who's tired of the cycle: knowing what's healthy but struggling to actually do it in the chaos of medical practice. ️ New Episode of Black Talk Radio News: "UnitedHealth Lawsuit Exposes the Cruelty of For-Profit Healthcare" Hosted by Scotty Reid | Black Talk Media Project In this episode, Scotty Reid breaks down the latest class action lawsuit filed by investors against UnitedHealth Group—the largest health insurer in the U.S.—and exposes the deeper issue that corporate media won't touch: the devastating harm of America's for-profit healthcare system. As investors cry over lost billions, millions of Americans suffer without adequate care. You created the freebie. You poured your best tips into it. Shared it. Promoted it. Maybe even ran some ads.And if you're still refreshing your screen thinking… “Where are the leads?”Before we blame the algorithm… Before we burn it all down and start over… Let's get real about what's actually going on.Because here's what no one's talking about:Free offers (aka opt-ins, lead magnets, lead generators, freebies) can work.Free leads can turn into paying clients. But only when the freebie, the offer, and the message are fully aligned. This episode is your behind-the-scenes look at what makes a lead magnet actually convert – without needing a massive audience or fancy funnel.I'm breaking down:The 3 quiet killers of conversionWhat most freebies get wrongAnd the small, strategic shifts that change everythingLet's fix the freebie. Let's get it working. Let's finally make it convert. What to listen for:Why “just provide value” is an outdated strategyHow vagueness is killing conversions (and how to fix it)The real purpose of a landing page – and why most are doing too muchWhat your CTA should look like (and where to put it)The 3 mistakes so many make with their lead magnetsWhy clear beats catchy every timeThe one thing all high-converting free offers have in commonSimple headline shifts that can triple your opt-in rateReal-life examples of tweaks that led to 3x and 4x conversionsThe exact structure of a high-converting landing page (plus a free template!)Your freebie isn't broken, it likely just needs a few tweaks to fix it. What to Expect While Fostering and Adopting | Adoption, Foster parent, Foster care, Adopting
Welcome back to the What to Expect While Fostering and Adopting podcast! I'm Christine Marie — adoptive mom, former foster parent, and biblical mindset coach — and today's guest is someone whose voice and impact in the foster care space cannot be overstated. I'm honored to sit down with Dr. John DeGarmo, founder and director of The Foster Care Institute, international speaker, best-selling author of 10 books, and foster/adoptive dad to over 60 children. Dr. DeGarmo has worked alongside child welfare agencies across the globe and is a leading voice for system change and trauma-informed parenting. In this conversation, we dive into the realities of foster care that few are willing to talk about — from the mental health crisis and over-medication of foster youth to the growing burnout among caregivers. We also talk about practical tools and mindsets that can help foster and adoptive parents stay grounded, effective, and full of hope even in the hardest seasons. Whether you're currently fostering, considering it, or simply want to better support foster families in your community, this episode is packed with insight, encouragement, and truth. ☕ So grab your coffee, get comfy, and let's dig in. XO, Christine Marie

If you've ever said, “I was so good all day… and then lost control at night,” you're not alone. In this episode of The Wellness Effect, we're diving into one of the most common (and least talked about) struggles: the binge and restrict cycle. Join us as we break down the binge/restrict cycle from both a physical and emotional lens. We talk about why restriction often isn't about willpower—it's a signal from your body that it's not getting what it needs. From skipping breakfast to overly “clean” eating, many women unknowingly fall into patterns that create nighttime cravings, shame, and guilt. This conversation offers a refreshing blend of honesty, education, and practical tools to help listeners identify their triggers, shift their mindset, and fuel their bodies without obsession or extremes. If you want to break free from bringe and restrict cycle, tune in now! Key Takeaways: The binge and restrict cycle is more common than most realize – Many people unknowingly fall into it by under-eating during the day and overeating at night, often blaming themselves instead of recognizing the physiological and emotional roots. Eating enough throughout the day—especially a balanced breakfast—is crucial – Consistent, nourishing meals stabilize blood sugar, reduce cravings, and are a foundational step to breaking the cycle. Awareness and self-compassion are essential for healing – Journaling, setting realistic goals, and reframing the narrative around food can empower individuals to shift from shame to progress. Today, we're discussing the tragic murder of Austin Metcalf — a case that's not just heartbreaking but deeply revealing of a larger cultural crisis we need to address head-on. I'll be sharing my raw thoughts on what happened, and more importantly, having the uncomfortable (but necessary) conversation surrounding crime statistics in the black community. If we're ever going to see real change — fewer senseless killings, safer neighborhoods, and stronger families — then we have to stop tiptoeing around the truth. It's time to talk about why these patterns keep repeating and what cultural shifts must happen to break the toxic and deadly cycle. This isn't about hate — it's about accountability, truth, and the fight for life, stability, and genuine justice.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmLTSF8TidU6uJpGkHMYzxsnd&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqcO_BhDaARIsACz62vPh4GA_6w_PdX8w4PW0sRhPD76KOyhYBmiEOdpiLXHP1G10c9kaPMEaAkK-EALw_wcB

Most of us want to do our part to help the environment. We recycle, we conserve energy, we bring reusable bags to the grocery store. But does any of that actually make a difference?Paul Hawken, one of the world's foremost environmentalists and author of Carbon: The Book of Life, says that the way we think about climate change is all wrong. In this episode, Paul breaks down why fear-based climate messaging hasn't worked—and what actually inspires people to take action. He reveals why carbon isn't the villain we've been told it is, how nature is communicating in ways we're only beginning to understand, and why reconnecting with the natural world isn't just good for the planet—it's essential for our well-being.Paul also shares surprising insights about soil, the intelligence of plants and animals, and how we've been conditioned to see nature as something separate from us rather than as part of us. If you've ever wondered whether small changes like cutting back on plastic or choosing organic actually move the needle—or if there's a bigger, more impactful way to contribute—this episode is for you.Tune in for a mind-expanding conversation about the interconnectedness of life, the role we each play in shaping the future, and why the solutions to our biggest environmental challenges start with shifting how we see the world around us.Send us a text message. The debate over whether cities and states have the right to criminally punish people experiencing homelessness for sleeping in public. With a decision from the Supreme Court looming on whether cities and states will have the right to criminally punish people experiencing homelessness for sleeping in public, many are divided on what that decision should be. Tonight, Dr. Phil will hear from people experiencing homelessness themselves, and learn why they are strongly against being criminalized. Plus, the debate continues as Donald Whitehead (Executive Director of the National Coalition for the Homeless), Matt Mackowiak (Co-founder of Save Austin Now), Michele Steeb (Senior Fellow with the Texas Public Policy) and residents of Grants Pass, (a town that has gained national attention because of a court case between local homeless individuals and the city), debate the solutions to the homelessness epidemic.
