Let us know what's on your mindA CEO who has worked across football, tennis, cricket, and now hockey sees Irish sport differently, and you can hear it in every answer. We're joined by Richard Fahey, CEO of Hockey Ireland, to talk about how careers are built in sports administration, what actually drives participation growth, and why the unglamorous work of facilities, governance, and funding is where championships and communities are really made.Richard walks us from his early coaching days into a defining moment at the FAI: spotting a missing layer of management, proposing a solution, and then helping scale a technical department from a small budget into a nationwide engine. We also get a clear view of how club licensing can lift standards across a league by using regulation as a developmental tool, improving coaching, financial stability, and infrastructure rather than just ticking boxes. The timing is big for Hockey Ireland too. With both men's and women's teams heading to the 2026 Hockey World Cup in Belgium, we talk sponsorship strategy, broadcast reach, and how to turn a major tournament into club membership, volunteers, and new hockey communities in parts of Ireland where the sport barely exists. Richard also makes a strong athlete welfare case for dual-career athletes, including a proposed tax measure that recognises the personal cost of representing Ireland while holding down a day job.If you care about Irish sport leadership, high performance planning, grassroots development, and the future of hockey in Ireland, this one is full of practical detail. Where you're from doesn't just shape you — it frames how you understand power, loyalty, and loss.Bun B is Houston to the core. Jeffrey Sledge carries New York City wherever he goes. And for Tom Frank, everything starts in State College, Pennsylvania — a town where fall Saturdays felt sacred, Penn State football felt pure, and Happy Valley felt like a place untouched by the rest of the world.Today's guest, Jay Paterno, grew up at the center of that belief system. As a former Penn State assistant coach, trustee, writer, and the son of the late Joe Paterno, Jay lived inside one of the most revered cultures in college sports — and then watched it unravel in public. He speaks openly about legacy, leadership, media narratives, and what it costs to stand inside a storm you can't control. Not from a distance, but from inside his own family. This isn't just a backward-looking conversation. Jay takes the same clear-eyed approach to the modern game — NIL, the transfer portal, revenue sharing, gambling, donor influence — and explains why college athletics is no longer what it pretends to be. His new book - BLITZED! The All-Out Pressure of College Football's New Era - pulls back the curtain on a system stretched to its limits, where pressure, money, and identity collide every Saturday. This episode isn't about defending the past. It's about context, consequence, and where the game is headed."Unglossy" is produced and distributed by Merrick Studio and hosted by Bun B, Tom Frank and Jeffrey Sledge. On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed Jeff Mostyn, the Former Chairman of AFC Bournemouth. There have been few constants in AFC Bournemouth's incredible rise to the Premier League. Aside from the sight of the inspirational performances from the team, achieving the almost impossible by reaching the Premier League in 2015, it is an almost unrecognisable club from just ten years ago. But its fairy tale success wouldn't have been possible without the boardroom backing of former Chairman Jeff Mostyn following his purchase of the club in 2007. The club has now become one of the most progressive and admired clubs, both on and off the field within the English football pyramid. Mostyn now stands as an immensely well-respected figure not only in the English game but also on the Global stage due to his unparalleled knowledge of the Football Pyramid. He has held places on the board of the Football League and the Football Association Council and is just as influential in the local area, contributing as an ambassador to the club's Community Sports Trust where he remains a trustee. Mostyn is also part of a small group of Football Chairman to have held the position at the same club in the top four divisions, along with Swansea City's Huw Jenkins and Dave Whelan at Wigan Athletic. In 2011 he was elected by the 72 Football League Clubs to represent them on the FA Council working on several of the Football Association committees, including those for Disability, FA Youth and Compliance Monitoring, as well as chairing the prestigious FA Challenge Cup Committee. In 2012 Jeff was elected to the Board of Directors of the Football League. During the 2015/16 season Jeff was elected as an FA England Team Ambassador, supporting the FA and England teams overseas. Following the club's administration in 2009, Mostyn stepped down to become Vice-Chairman of the club, before once again taking up the position of Chairman at AFC Bournemouth in September 2013, with a historic promotion to the English Premier League following less than two years later. Away from football, he is a family man and has been married to his wife Rose for 44 years and has four children. Amongst Jeff's charitable work he supports Prostate Cancer UK and is a patron for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, Ambassador of Julia's House Children's Hospice, Ambassador of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Jeff is a global ambassador for Football for Peace and had the honour of presenting to dignitaries at the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2019. Jeff was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Bournemouth University in Business Administration in November 2017, in recognition of his work at AFC Bournemouth and the Community. Jeff received a Fellowship of the FA Council in 2021. Finally in 2023 The Premier League acknowledged Jeff's contribution to the League and the wider Football Family with a personal award. The rise of AFC Bournemouth from the depths of despair in 2006 to the glorified heights of the English Premier League is one of sports greatest ever achievements. It was once described as a Hans Christian Anderson fairy story that somehow came to life. Jeff Stepped down as Chairman of the football club in December 2022, taking up a role as Ambassador for the clubs, Community Sports Trust. On the 30th October 2025, Jeff published his autobiography “The Chairman”Chapters00:00 Introduction to Jeff Mostyn and AFC Bournemouth01:35 Jeff's Journey to Bournemouth Ownership05:04 Emotional Rollercoaster of Football Ownership08:50 The Impact of Community and Relationships12:49 Writing 'The Chairman' and Contributions from Football Royalty17:57 The Journey to Premier League Promotion22:56 Building a Successful Team Culture28:05 The Future of AFC Bournemouth and Community Engagement29:20 World Cup Excitement and the Power of Football

On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed the President & CEO of ANC, Jerry Cifarelli Jr. Although Jerry's father originally founded the company more than 25 years ago, ANCs transformation since Cifarelli re-acquired the company from Learfield in 2023 has been remarkable. Departing from the conventional path of a second-generation, Cifarelli chose to forge his own path, leaving ANC in 2022 after nearly a decade with the firm to establish C10 Media. His strategic acumen and skill as a relationship builder paid dividends immediately when he secured the firm's initial project, designing and installing a cutting-edge multimedia solution for MGM Music Hall at Fenway. In 2023, recognizing a unique opportunity, Cifarelli Jr.. leveraged his long-standing industry relationships and vision for what a re-imagined ANC could be to orchestrate the acquisition of ANC by C10 Media back from Learfield. In less than two years, Jerry has transformed ANC from a digital signage solutions provider into a versatile, full-service technology, advertising, design, and service partner. Following ANC's successful first year, Cifarelli secured a substantial equity partnership in ANC by Fenway Sports Group, ideally positioning the company to fulfill Jerry's vision as a diversified single-source solutions provider and strategic partner, at the epicenter of the sports and entertainment business. Some of its digital signage projects in the past two years include: American Century Field (Milwaukee Brewers); Nationals Field (Washington Nationals); the Toyota Center (Houston Rockets); American Airlines Center (Dallas); Levi's Stadium (SF 49ers); ScotiaBank Arena (Toronto); Gainsbridge FieldHouse (Indiana Pacers); Dodger Stadium; Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia); Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse (Cleveland), and Smoothie King Center (New Orleans). His quarterback odyssey laid the seeds for life after football, learning valuable lessons about building teams, the essence of leadership and learning to “control the controllables.”Now an executive and turnaround specialist in behavioral healthcare, BJ is known for walking into broken systems and rebuilding them from the inside out. He and Zac dive into the lessons sports instilled in him – culture, accountability, and leadership – and how those same principles drive his work today. His book, The Pivot, captures this spirit: setbacks aren't roadblocks, but essential opportunities to reinvent, rebuild, and learn how to succeed. This is an honest, motivational episode that will resonate with athletes, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking tools to lead under pressure, bounce back from loss, and chart a new path forward. For more information on BJ's book, The Pivot, please click here: https://bjcoleman.com/the-book/Connect with Zachttps://www.instagram.com/zwclark/https://www.linkedin.com/in/zac-c-746b96254/https://www.tiktok.com/@zacwclarkhttps://www.strava.com/athletes/55697553https://twitter.com/zacwclarkIf you or anyone you know is struggling, please do not hesitate to contact Release Recovery:(914) 588-6564releaserecovery.com@releaserecovery
