Ffilm 3 munud ac 16 eiliad o hyd a wnaed gan Tim Davies ym 1992 yw Fflagiau Dros Solfach. Mae'r ffilm du a gwyn hon yn dogfennu digwyddiad penodol i safle'r bryniau uwchben Solfach, Sir Benfro, ar draws y cei o'r Gribin. Yng nghanol yr olygfa gymylog wyntog y mae pum polyn fflag metel a phren 15 troedfedd anhygoel o uchder wrth ymyl ei gilydd mewn grŵp. Mae pentref Solfach i'w weld yn y cefndir ar draws y cei. Mae'r fflagiau'n bwrw yn erbyn ei gilydd bob tro y mae'r gwynt yn chwythu. Mae pob fflag ar ffurf triongl cymesur tenau hir ac mae dwy fflag olau ganolog wedi'u hamgylchu gan fflagiau tywyllach ar y naill ochr a'r llall. Mae rhaff ategol yn clymu'r polion fflag yn sownd ychydig yn llai na hanner ffordd tuag at y ddaear, gan greu rhyw fath o dreipod wedi'i glymu yn y tir gan begiau gwyn. Wrth wneud Fflagiau Dros Solfach, roedd Davies wedi creu'r polion fflag fesul rhannau fel y byddent yn barod i'w cydosod yn ôl yr angen, a threuliodd wythnos yn eu rhoi yn nhirwedd Solfach mewn amrywiaeth o gyfluniadau. Ar ôl treulio rhan o'i blentyndod yn Solfach gyda'i dad-cu, mae'n hen gyfarwydd â'r lleoliad. Gan ddefnyddio fflagiau fel tirnod, archwiliodd y syniad fod perchnogaeth tir yn rhywbeth dros dro, gan hawlio safle am hyd pob ymyriad. O arwyddocâd diniwed fflagiau fel tegan i blant sy'n marcio cestyll tywod, sy'n cael eu llyncu gan y llanw, i oblygiadau glanio ar y lleuad, i edifarhau colli perchnogaeth leol ar hunaniaeth ddiwylliannol Cymru, a'r diymadferthedd sy'n deillio o hynny, mae'r gwaith yn cyfeirio at anghydfodau ynghylch perchnogaeth tir a'r gwrthrych fel dynodwr lleoliad. Mae craidd ei waith yn benodol i amser a lleoliad, gan ddefnyddio cyfryngau perfformio dau a thri dimensiwn. Mae ef hefyd yn archwilio'r gair ysgrifenedig, y gair llafar a'r gair ar ffurf delwedd. Ganed Davies yn Hwlffordd, sir Benfro ym 1960. Astudiodd Gelfyddyd Gain yn Ysgol Gelf Norwich a chwblhaodd MA mewn Materion Celfyddyd a Phensaernïaeth ym Mhrifysgol y Celfyddydau Creadigol yng Nghaergaint. Mae ef wedi gweithio mewn ystod o gyfryngau dros y 30 mlynedd diwethaf, gan arddangos a chreu gwaith yng Nghymru, y DU ac yn rhyngwladol. Mae ef wedi ennill llawer o wobrau, gan gynnwys gwobr cystadleuaeth agored Mostyn, y fedal aur mewn Celfyddyd Gain yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol ac un o brif wobrau Cymru Greadigol. Ef oedd yr artist cyntaf o Ewrop i gyrraedd rhestr fer Gwobr Celfyddydau Gweledol Artes Mundi a chynrychiolodd Gymru mewn sioe unigol yn Biennale Fenis yn 2011. Cafodd y ffilm Fflagiau Dros Solfach ei chaffael yn 2025 drwy wobr Wakelin, a roddir bob blwyddyn i artist sy'n byw ac yn gweithio yng Nghymru ac y prynir ei waith ar gyfer casgliad parhaol Oriel Gelf Glynn Vivian.
Mae Wavy Gravy yn ffilm o 2014 gan Alex Duncan, sy'n para 1 funud 10 eiliad. Crëwyd y ffilm fud hon o ddeunydd fideo a gafwyd ac a ail-weithiwyd, sy'n darlunio môr o ffurfiau tonnog gyda symudiadau tonnau sy'n llwybro o frig y sgrin i'r gwaelod. Nid yw'n glir yn syth o beth y gwnaethpwyd y màs haniaethol amryliw hwn, yn lle, mae ei symudiad ailadroddus yn rhoi ansawdd sydd bron yn gerfluniol iddi. Mae'r olygfa mewn gwirionedd yn brofiad nofio mewn pwll tonnau tswnami wyneb i waered, gyda chyrff yn codi ac yn disgyn sy'n rhyngweithio â'u hysgafnder eu hunain ac yn colli'r hunan o fewn yr ymchwydd, gan archwilio realiti a natur artiffisial symudiad a chanfyddiad. Mae rhywbeth hwyliog yn digwydd ar yr un pryd â rhywbeth drwgargoelus. Meddai Alex Duncan, "Mae ble a sut rydym yn gosod ein hunain yn y byd, yr hyn rydym yn ymateb iddo fel bodau dynol a'n perthynas â deunyddiau, gwrthrychau a sefyllfaoedd yn fy nghyfareddu. Mae'r hyn sy'n real a'r hyn sy'n dynwared y real bob amser wedi fy nghyfareddu, ynghyd â pha mor oddrychol rydym yn ymateb i rywbeth rhwng y ddau gyflwr gwahanol hyn". Mae'r gwaith sy'n cyd-fynd â hwn, Like Swimming, sydd yng nghasgliad Oriel Gelf Glynn Vivian, yn osodiad 'cymhorthion arnofio achub bywydau' haearn bwrw. Mae crafiadau ac olion cnoi ar eu harwynebau, gan gyferbynnu ysgafnder ieuenctid ag ansicrwydd bywyd go iawn. Graddiodd Alex Duncan, a aned yn Abertawe, o Brifysgol Fetropolitan Abertawe yn 2007 ac enillodd ei radd meistr o'r Coleg Celf Brenhinol yn Llundain. Mae ei waith sy'n croestorri cerfluniau, arlunio, gwaith fideo a gosodiadau wedi cael ei arddangos yn y DU, yn enwedig Oriel Whitechapel, V&A, MOSTYN, Camden Arts Centre ac oriel gelf Ferens; ac yn rhyngwladol, gan gynnwys Milan, yr Eidal; Bilbao, Santander; Sbaen a Mawrisiws.
Wavy Gravy is a 2014 film by Alex Duncan, duration 1 minute 10 seconds. This silent film was created from found and reworked video footage, depicting a sea of undulating forms with wave movements that track from the top of the screen to the bottom. It is not immediately clear what the multicoloured abstract mass is made from, its repetitive movement instead giving an almost sculptural quality. The scene is in fact an upside-down densely packed tsunami wave pool swimming experience, with bodies rising and falling, engaged with their own weightlessness and loss of self within the swell, exploring realities and artificialities of motion and perception. The proximity of something fun and something ominous occurs. Alex Duncan said: “I am fascinated by where and how we place ourselves in the world, what we react to as human beings and our relationship to materials, objects and situations. “What is real and what is imitating the real has always fascinated me, and how subjectively, we respond to something that is both, or rather, something that sits between these two diverging states”. Within the Glynn Vivian's collection, the companion work, Like Swimming, is an installation of cast concrete ‘life-saving flotation aids'. Their surfaces bitten into and scratched at, contrasting the levity of youth with the uncertainty of real life. Swansea-born, Alex Duncan graduated from Swansea Metropolitan University in 2007 and gained his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in London. Making work that intersects sculpture, drawing, video and installation, his work has been exhibited both in the UK, notably the Whitechapel Gallery, V&A, MOSTYN, Camden Arts Centre and Ferens Art Gallery; and internationally, including Milan, Italy; Bilbao, Santander; Spain and Mauritius.

This week on The Geek in Review, we talk with Gregory Mostyn, CEO of Wexler.ai, about how his company is building a sharper form of legal AI for litigation. In a market crowded with broad platforms that aim to handle every legal task at once, Mostyn describes Wexler as a focused system built for one of the hardest problems in disputes, understanding the facts. He shares how the idea grew from watching his father, a judge, carry home stacks of ring binders and spend late nights reviewing case materials by hand. That early picture of legal work, heavy with paper and pressure, became the spark for a company aimed at helping lawyers work through massive records with more depth, speed, and precision.A central idea in the conversation is Wexler's view that the most useful unit of analysis in litigation is not the document, but the fact. Mostyn explains that lawyers are often handed a mountain of emails, messages, filings, and exhibits, yet what they need is a clear understanding of what happened, why it matters, and where the pressure points sit. Wexler is designed to pull out events, inconsistencies, and supporting details from that record so litigators are working from a factual map rather than a pile of files. That shift matters because disputes are rarely neat. Important evidence may be tucked inside an offhand message, a late footnote, or an exchange written in vague, coded language. Wexler's aim is to turn that mess into something a trial team can use to shape strategy.Mostyn also walks through the mechanics that separate Wexler from more general legal AI products. He describes a detailed fact extraction pipeline that processes unstructured material and turns it into structured data before the system reasons over it. That design helps Wexler deal with the disorder of litigation, where timelines blur, people contradict each other, and key details are easy to miss. He also points to the scale of the platform, noting that it handles large document sets and supports work such as deposition preparation, trial preparation, summary judgment briefing, and early case assessment. One of the more striking features is real-time fact checking during depositions, where the platform helps lawyers spot contradictions in testimony as the questioning unfolds. The effect is less like using a search box and more like working with a tireless junior team member who has read the whole file.Trust, accuracy, and restraint are another major part of the discussion. Mostyn is careful not to oversell what AI can do. He openly states that no system is perfect, yet he argues that Wexler reduces risk by staying inside the record given to it. It does not search the internet, does not drift into outside material, and ties its outputs back to specific text in the source documents. That discipline is important in litigation, where a made-up citation or invented fact is more than embarrassing, it is dangerous. Mostyn presents Wexler as a tool that helps lawyers verify, question, and sharpen their understanding of the case. The result is less time spent slogging through repetitive review and more time spent thinking about how to use the facts in a meaningful way. Mostyn believes that as AI takes on more of the burden of document review and fact development, the value of human lawyering rises in other areas. Strategy, advocacy, witness preparation, courtroom performance, and judgment all become more important when the groundwork is assembled faster and more thoroughly. It might lack the dark glamour of criminal law or the ideological appeal of human rights law, but competition law is an important part of the systems that underpin our society. But in the modern age – with tech oligarchs becoming ever more influential – does it have the teeth to prevent monopolies forming? To discuss this, Helena Kennedy and Nicholas Mostyn are joined by another esteemed member of the Mostyn clan: Henry Mostyn, a partner at Cleary Gottlieb, and a specialist in this corner of the legal maze. This episode was generously sponsored by Cleary Gottlieb. If you have questions, criticisms, praise or other feedback, please do send your thoughts to us via lawanddisorderfeedback@gmail.com!Law and Disorder is a Podot podcast.Hosted by: Charlie Falconer, Helena Kennedy, Nicholas Mostyn.Executive Producer and Editor: Nick Hilton.Associate Producer: Ewan Cameron.Music by Richard Strauss, arranged and performed by Anthony Willis & Brett Bailey. On this episode of the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Wayne Kimmel interviewed Jeff Mostyn, the Former Chairman of AFC Bournemouth. There have been few constants in AFC Bournemouth's incredible rise to the Premier League. Aside from the sight of the inspirational performances from the team, achieving the almost impossible by reaching the Premier League in 2015, it is an almost unrecognisable club from just ten years ago. But its fairy tale success wouldn't have been possible without the boardroom backing of former Chairman Jeff Mostyn following his purchase of the club in 2007. The club has now become one of the most progressive and admired clubs, both on and off the field within the English football pyramid. Mostyn now stands as an immensely well-respected figure not only in the English game but also on the Global stage due to his unparalleled knowledge of the Football Pyramid. He has held places on the board of the Football League and the Football Association Council and is just as influential in the local area, contributing as an ambassador to the club's Community Sports Trust where he remains a trustee. Mostyn is also part of a small group of Football Chairman to have held the position at the same club in the top four divisions, along with Swansea City's Huw Jenkins and Dave Whelan at Wigan Athletic. In 2011 he was elected by the 72 Football League Clubs to represent them on the FA Council working on several of the Football Association committees, including those for Disability, FA Youth and Compliance Monitoring, as well as chairing the prestigious FA Challenge Cup Committee. In 2012 Jeff was elected to the Board of Directors of the Football League. During the 2015/16 season Jeff was elected as an FA England Team Ambassador, supporting the FA and England teams overseas. Following the club's administration in 2009, Mostyn stepped down to become Vice-Chairman of the club, before once again taking up the position of Chairman at AFC Bournemouth in September 2013, with a historic promotion to the English Premier League following less than two years later. Away from football, he is a family man and has been married to his wife Rose for 44 years and has four children. Amongst Jeff's charitable work he supports Prostate Cancer UK and is a patron for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, Ambassador of Julia's House Children's Hospice, Ambassador of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Jeff is a global ambassador for Football for Peace and had the honour of presenting to dignitaries at the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2019. Jeff was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Bournemouth University in Business Administration in November 2017, in recognition of his work at AFC Bournemouth and the Community. Jeff received a Fellowship of the FA Council in 2021. Finally in 2023 The Premier League acknowledged Jeff's contribution to the League and the wider Football Family with a personal award. The rise of AFC Bournemouth from the depths of despair in 2006 to the glorified heights of the English Premier League is one of sports greatest ever achievements. It was once described as a Hans Christian Anderson fairy story that somehow came to life. Jeff Stepped down as Chairman of the football club in December 2022, taking up a role as Ambassador for the clubs, Community Sports Trust. Contemporary and performance artist Paul Maheke moves between France, Congo, and Canada, exploring the ‘archive of their body' through drawing and dance, via Taboo Durag (2021). To Be Blindly Hopeful emerged from the very last sentence of a journal that Paul Maheke kept between August 2020 and June 2021, capturing the turbulence of the COVID pandemic. Central to Maheke's practice is a delicate dance between the individual and the collective, personal and broader sociopolitical contexts, echoing the sentiment expressed by bell hooks, who reminds us that ‘the space of our lack is also the space of possibility.' Currently based in France, Paul shares works 'staged' in previous exhibitions at South London Gallery, Chisenhale Gallery, and Tate Modern, highlighting how the ‘new' drawings, prints, book illustrations, and paintings on display here have long formed part of his practice. He explains how performance and dance can be both emancipatory and trapping, with respect to queerness, masculinity and gender, and the reality of being ‘brown body looked at my white audience' - drawing on his lifelong admiration for the French-born ice skater, Surya Bonaly. We discuss Paul's popular culture and academic Influences like Grace Jones and Félix González-Torres, Audre Lorde and Édouard Glissant, and Bruce Nauman to Paul B. Preciado - not as icons but real, complex people. Finally, Paul highlights how his work changes in its global travels, from the Baltic Triennale in Estonia, to Johanneburg, South Africa - and, drawing on collaborations with family members and fellow artist Melika Ngombe Kolongo (Nkisi) for the Congo Biennale in 2021, his personal relationship with arts institutions on the continent, as a diasporic artist. Paul Maheke: To Be Blindly Hopeful runs at MOSTYN, Wales until 29 June 2024. It includes Taboo Durag (2021), produced as a performance to camera for Glasgow International 2021. This episode marks this iteration of Scotland's biennale festival of contemporary art, which continues until 23 June 2024.** Paul has also shown work as part of the Diaspora Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019, the first to feature an official performance programme co-produced with the Delfina Foundation, and has work in the Drawing Biennal 2024, which runs at the Drawing Room in London until 3 July 2024. Welcome back to Texas News, where we dive into all things Texas politics and the future of independence in the state of Texas. On today's show, we begin with updates on our legal fight with the Republican Party of Texas over the TEXIT Petition. Instead of following the law, the Texas GOP gamed the system to keep Texans from voting on TEXIT. The fact is, the TNM followed the letter and spirit of the law, but the Texas GOP is still denying us legal recourse, thereby screwing over 139,000 TEXIT petition signers and millions of Texans who want a vote on TEXIT. This fight is far from over, and one way to fight back now is by electing pro-Texas candidates, candidates who will truly listen to their constituents and put their needs and wants above everything else. In this episode, none other than Texas House Candidate for District 117, Ben Mostyn, joins us to discuss his background and what drove him to get involved in Texas politics. Having signed our Texas First Pledge back in August of 2023, Ben shares his views on the mass disconnect between the will of the people and the political establishment.
