New York is on the verge of becoming the 11th state plus DC to give citizens suffering from terminal diseases the right to die when and as they choose. Oregon was the first state 25 years ago to grant this right. Religious leaders, champions of the right to life, even some advocates for the disabled worry that such laws open the way to abuse, coercion, and worse. It seems never to have occurred anywhere, but death is a fearful issue and dying fraught with guilt and worry. We talk with a lawyer and a legislator who have led the campaign in New York for a better say to die, forcing the issues into the open and swaying opinions so that a bill making it's way through the legislature now could shortly be on the governor's desk for a signature.Corinne Carey from Troy NY is a lawyer, organizer, and policy strategist. A little sidestep from my normal musical topics--I wanted to explore talent in another medium- PHOTOGRAPHY. I happened to see this man's work on Facebook where he expertly colorizes old photographs from downtown Troy way back when. A must see! John Bulmer is my guest. We talk tips, tricks, artificial intelligence, the death of the digital camera (or maybe not) and other topics . Check out JohnBulmerPhotography on Facebook to see his incredible work. At the end of this, I am debuting a song where I dip my toe into the world of A.I. myself. I had Chat CPT write the lyrics to a song explaining" how much I love playing my piano". I put music to it and produced it with harmonies etc just for "you know whats and giggles". It's toward the end of the episode. Hey--speaking of that--looking for a piano? Digital? Acoustic? Hybrid?. I know just the place..... HILTON PIANO CENTER, COLONIE CENTER ALBANY. Check out his website at www.hiltonpianocenter.com or Bob@hiltonpianocenter.com .

What if I told you that when it comes to "Pivoting" , the thought that you should always pivot when you're not making progress. is a false belief? So what IS true? Listen for the amazing conversation with Tom Miter to find out! In this Talents on Tap episode, You will learn when the right time to pivot is and when it's better to stay the course in your business or life! "Have you ever been in a business or even life situation where you realize you pivoted too quickly, you gave up on the process and you changed course, and you realize, looking back, that if I had only stayed doing what I was doing, I'd be that much further ahead?" Yes? Me too! This is my story... I was in a business situation where I realized I pivoted too quickly and gave up on the process. I changed course and realized that if I had only stayed doing what I was doing, I'd be that much further ahead. Sometimes we keep on the same course way too long and we lose the momentum that we had at the beginning because we should have pivoted a little bit, or at least adjusted the sail slightly to change direction a little bit, or sometimes just a whole new direction. Tom's story is different - he, on the other hand, has high consistency and tends to be better at staying the course. Which at times, can keep him stuck in mediocrity. Today we are going to talk about when to pivot and when to stay the course and some tips and tools to help you figure out that decision, a really hard decision when that situation arises. In this episode, you will learn the following: When is the best time to pivot in business or in life? What are the signs that it might be time to pivot? What are the consequences of not pivoting when necessary? What are the signs you should hold steady and stay the course? Today's Talents on Tap beverage is from Brown's Brewing in Troy NY . Tom is drinking his all time favorite beer, CHERRY RAZZ. It's an Amber Ale brewed with cherries and raspberries.
