TDAgiantslayer@gmail.com Brought to you by wellbuiltbody.com 97X PODBEAN Apple Podcast what can a 10 second hug do? 1 dopamine 2 creates a safe environment for vulnerability 3 relieve stress and boost immune system 4 and 5 Reignites physical affection and physical attraction 6 opens up avenues of communication Aaaaand #7 a ten second hug is territorial. It simply says you are mine! Let me be quite frank… I don't want you coming up during church and hugging my wife from the front… nor does my wife want women coming up and hugging me from the front… either way - NO BOOBY hugs! I teach on Proxemics OR the science of space no not astronomy… but on space and territory in human behavior. One of the illustrations I do is showing people how when I hug someone my hand on the back - or the placement of that hand says a lot about how well I think I know that person. If I hug them and my hand is just on the top of the shoulder…(12 o'clock) I barely know them If My hand is on their mid back, I know them pretty well, If my hand is on their lower back I really know them and if my hand is on their buttocks I better be married to them… because that is intimacy! Have you ever been dancing with your partner or spouse and you grab their butt? Ever hugged them really close in public? Ever been away from them for a week or longer and when you see them you grab them and hang on for a good 20 seconds… What is all this saying? YOU ARE MINE! Now wether you do it in public or not- it still screams THIS IS MY TERRITORY… HANDS OFF! Song of Solomon 8:6 Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. This is a love song from a bride to her groom… interesting that it is from a woman's perspective…yet is very applicable to a man. Why was such jealousy aroused in this scripture? Well in the verse before it says we are leaning on each other… physical touch. It aroused jealousy or in other words territorial obsession. When you hug you are sealing the deal… verse 6 says you are a seal on my heart. Look we all want stuff to be fresh… I like fresh veggies, fresh fruit, fresh paint, fresh bread… a good seal does that. Does your relationship feel stale??? Maybe you need to work on your seal. Look here is what I am trying to get at… there are millions of people who simply feel unwanted in marriage, in relationships - because they no longer have that territorial touch or connection. being Territorial has a lot to do with identity as a couple. I want people to know we are a THANG… I WANT MY WIFE TO KNOW AND FEEL WE ARE A THANG! A hug does that if it is more than 10 seconds.

In this episode of The Epic Journey Podcast, Sonny and Cindy discuss and define what the epic and heroic journey of marriage means. Your marriage is epic and heroic and you were created to be heroes and warriors as you live out Gods plan for your marriage. Be encouraged and strengthened as you learn more of Gods word and take the next steps into the wilderness, one step at a time. Our 2B1 Life Marriage Manifesto begins with this statement of belief: We believe that marriage is an epic and heroic journey through the wilderness with God while we are here on this earth. We believe the journey doesn't stop when we are done on earth, but the journey is directing us heavenward. Philippians 3:14 I press on to the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Merriam/Webster Dictionary Epic - Essential Meaning of epic 1 : a long poem that tells the story of a hero's adventures Homer's ancient Greek epic "The Odyssey" 2 : a long book, movie, etc., that usually tells a story about exciting events or adventures Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. Holman Christian Standard Bible The word workmanship in the original Greek is the word poeima. The word poeima means “that which is made, something fashioned, crafted together, someone's' workmanship, as in a masterpiece.” From poeima, comes the word poem and poetry. You dear friends, are Gods' poem, Gods' masterpiece. You are epic. Isaiah 43:1 Now this is what the Lord says, the one who created you, O Jacob, and The One who formed you, Israel – “Do not fear; for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; YOU ARE MINE. So, we would expand the definition of epic to say that we have each been uniquely created by God to be His Epic Poem (of heroic adventures) and masterpiece. Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The word Heroic describes the hero as strong and courageous. The definition of heroic is: of or relating to courageous people Gals…..you are married to a hero! You are married to a champion! You are married to the one designed by God and a masterpiece!!! Partnering with God, with each other, and with others that are like minded, believers seeking Gods best for your marriage is heroic. Journey : something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another Our marriage is designed to be an unstoppable force for good through this journey through the wilderness and heavenward!!! Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper corresponding to Him.” I found a great article about this by Mikella VanDyke, chasingsacred.com, The true definition of the word Helpmate, and she does a great job at explaining this. In Hebrew, the word helper or helpmate is derived from two words, ezer and k'enegdo. The word Ezer appears in the Bible 21 times. The word ezer is used to describe women, also used in reference to military support, and many times in reference to God's help in saving His people. God uses the same word to describe women as helper that He uses to describe himself!!! The word ezer is used to describe a saving and strong presence and is continually used to describe military aid in battle. “Therefore, many interpretations of

COVID-19 almost killed him. My guest this week is an Army veteran and physical therapist who had a horrifying bout with coronavirus last summer. Tim Maggart describes how he found healing through his faith in God and his music, as a singer songwriter. After a brief personal observation on how music impacts our fitness activity and hearing part of Maggart's new song "You Are Mine," (5:48) my chat with our guest starts with that song, crying out to God during the pandemic and just weeks before he came down with COVID. He talks about how the virus put him in the hospital, made it hard for him to breathe at home, sparked a heart attack and blood clots, all while he fought COVID for more than a month. As for fitness, (12:45) Maggart went from only being able to walk 10 feet while/after fighting COVID, building up to walking 2 miles daily around his home. (14:35) He is now back to his side gig and passion of writing and performing songs in the Inspirational Country genre, much of his music inspired by fellow military veterans and to honor them - some who say there are no atheists in foxholes. Maggart also is focused on honoring God with his music and his life. (19:55) My guest also gets real about depression, isolation he suffered and hid while battling the coronavirus. He has advice for anyone going through similar mental health issues or soldiers/vets with PTSD. (23:05) Maggart's day job is as a home health physical therapist who says he has the honor of treating some highly decorated war veterans who are homebound. (26:08) He talks about how he hopes his music too encourages these vets, knowing there's a greater reason he survived the deadly virus. (32:02) We close the podcast chat with a live performance of one of his original songs "American Blueprint" and Maggart's closing prayer. Thanks for listening! Make sure to subscribe to this podcast. Numbers 17:8 is the story of obedience to God's instruction. God told Moses to take 12 twelve staff from the 12 tribes of Judah and place them in the Tent of Testimony, on each tribe he wrote a name and on the tribe the Lord choose, the rod will sprout, blossom bring forth fruot and mouth will be silenced. And it did happen that the rod of the Levi sprouted!

For some of us, nothing is scarier than the thought of being vulnerable on the open ocean. Bobbing around on a raft or lifeboat, if you’re not used to sailing, would be frightening. Our current dilemma with the Coronavirus seems a little like that. In the 1944 film, Lifeboat, a group of people tried not to let fear overtake them in a small lifeboat after their ship was torpedoed. God knew what our fears would be long before we were born. Isaiah 43:1 says, “But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Alfred Hitchcock, the Master of Terror Films, knew how to get audiences to react to his onscreen images. He knew how to stoke fear and string you along. Not God. He is the Master Director, and His People do not react with fear when threatened. Isaiah said it perfectly: God says to each of us: You Are Mine. Think on that for a minute. Sixty Seconds. Believe what God told us in His Word. At the end of Lifeboat, the survivors are rescued, but not before their survival was in doubt the entire time fear climbed up their backs. No such scenario for those who lean on God. As we wait for the outcome of this global sickness, just concentrate on one thing all the time: You are His. Let’s pray. Lord, you do not leave us alone on the open ocean of life. You are always with us, and we are so grateful for that. We love you! Amen.

David is joined by friend and composer Kate Cuddy. If you have found a connection to this beautiful piece, it will be deepened after you listen to this episode. So, please open your hymnal to "You Are Mine."
