Regardless of how you live your life, you will leave behind a legacy. You will be remembered for something. What is remembered will be determined by how you live your life right now.Main Points:1. A legacy is the long-lasting impact of a person's life. Long after you are gone, your life will continue to tell a story. The memories, lessons learned, and examples of your life will be remembered.2. From God's perspective it's not our resumé or the amount of money we've accumulated that matters, but rather the kind of life we have lived.3. A spiritual legacy is built by faithful instruction and example. Words alone are not enough, our lifestyle and practice must match our words. I've noticed sometimes discipleship is more caught, than taught. As others watch our lives, they'll see the Jesus we love. Today's Scripture Verses:Proverbs 22:1 - “A good name is more desirable than great riches.” Mark 8:36 - “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Psalm 145:4 - “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.”1 Corinthians 11:1 - “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

What are students and children actually learning from us? It may not be our sermons. It may not be our advice. It might simply be the way we live. In this episode of Youth Worker On Fire, Doug Edwards shares a simple but powerful story from dinner with his grandchildren and a reminder that faith is often caught before it is taught. After inviting his family to pray over a meal, Doug watched something unexpected happen: His grandchildren stepped forward and wanted to pray. Not because they were asked. Not because they were prepared. But because prayer had become natural to them. That moment became a powerful reminder: Students and children are watching us more closely than we realize.

What kind of inheritance lasts longer than money, success, or comfort? In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on growing up in Egypt and hearing his grandfather praise the Lord in the middle of the night—again and again—until it became one of the greatest spiritual treasures Dr. Youssef ever received. Despite profound losses—children gone too soon, a wife taken early—his grandfather remained full of joy. The secret wasn't perfect circumstances. It was praise. Dr. Youssef explains how that model of devotion shaped his mother's life as well, cultivating a rhythm of prayer and worship that no worldly achievement could ever replace. And he points us to a bigger reality: you can't read Revelation without realizing that praise is the language of eternity. Heaven is filled with worship right now—and every believer in Christ will join that unending chorus forever. This devotional will encourage you to see praise not as something you do only when life feels good, but as a pathway to joy that remains steady through grief, hardship, and uncertainty—because God is always worthy. Prayer: Your faithfulness fills me with joy, Lord. Truly You have done great things for me. Thank You for giving me infinite reasons to rejoice. You are worthy of all praise, glory, and adoration! I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High” (Psalm 9:2). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Dr. Michael Youssef shares a powerful picture of spiritual inheritance: hearing his grandfather pour out midnight prayers for the next generation. It's a sobering reminder that we can pursue bigger houses, fuller schedules, and greater worldly success while our spiritual homes quietly crumble. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, you'll hear why the future of our families depends on prayerful dependence—not self-reliance. When children see adults clinging to God's promises, they grow up anchored in His goodness. But when we fail to pray for and with the next generation, they can become spiritually uncertain—attending church outwardly while losing biblical moorings inwardly. Dr. Youssef urges believers to call on the Lord for: our homes, our cities, our nation, and the hearts of those who will carry the faith forward. Behind many men and women God has used mightily, someone was interceding. This devotional invites you to become that intercessor—trusting God to cultivate wisdom, deepen love for Him, strengthen resolve, and raise the next generation into courageous “powerhouses” for Christ. Prayer: Father, I pray that my children would trust You as they see me cling to Your promises. I pray that You would work in their lives and that they would have a deep, growing relationship with You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you” (Jeremiah 29:12). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Dr. Michael Youssef shares a vivid picture of spiritual inheritance: hearing his grandfather pray through the night for the next generation. It's a reminder that we can build impressive lives on the outside while our spiritual homes quietly crumble on the inside—unless we return to the only foundation that holds: prayerful dependence on God. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Youssef explains why our children gain confidence in God when they see us clinging to His promises—and why neglecting prayer for (and with) the next generation leaves them spiritually unsure, untethered, and vulnerable to losing biblical moorings. You'll be challenged to shift from chasing worldly success to pursuing spiritual stability that endures—calling on the Lord for: your home, your city, your nation, and especially the hearts of sons and daughters who will carry the faith forward. Behind many men and women God has used powerfully, someone was interceding. This devotional invites you to become that someone—trusting God to cultivate wisdom, strengthen resolve, deepen love for Him, and form the next generation into bold, faithful witnesses for His glory. Prayer: Father, I pray that my children would trust You as they see me cling to Your promises. I pray that You would work in their lives and that they would have a deep, growing relationship with You. I pray in the name of Jesus. In this message, guest speaker Michael Rondon picks up in Matthew 10, covering the second half of the chapter and unpacking six key themes Jesus presents to his disciples: fear, worth, public allegiance, division, discipleship, and faithfulness. Anchoring the entire message in the concept of loyalty, Michael challenges listeners to examine whether Jesus is truly Lord above all else — above comfort, reputation, safety, and approval. He reminds us that following Jesus is costly, but that cost is worth embracing wholeheartedly.Michael walks through each theme with honesty and practical insight. He addresses how fear drives so many of our decisions and silences our faith, how we wrongly seek our sense of worth from performance, relationships, and achievement rather than from God, and how believers are called to a public, confessed, unapologetic faith — not a silent one. He also tackles the reality that living by a different standard than the world can create division, even within families, and encourages listeners to start by making their home a place where faith is modeled and prioritized. The message closes with a call to discipleship and faithfulness — the understanding that following Jesus means surrendering control daily and trusting that even small acts of obedience matter eternally. Michael reminds the congregation that salvation is free, but following Jesus costs everything, and yet nothing we lose is greater than what we gain. Jesus, he concludes, is worth public, costly, undivided allegiance.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

What if your light never truly fades? In this soulful episode of The Spiritual Cupcake Podcast, Candace shares a tender story about her son choosing a book from a little free library — The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner. On the back, she finds a line that sparks a powerful reflection:“I read somewhere that a lot of the stars we see don't exist anymore. They've already died and it's taken millions of years for their light to reach earth," Dill said.”That wouldn't be a bad way to die," Lydia said. "Giving off light for millions of years after you're gone."This episode explores how, just like starlight, our light continues to travel long after we've left a place — or even this world.

In today's fast-paced culture, the generational divide can feel wider than ever. Parents and grandparents long to pass on a vibrant faith, but too often wonder if their words will land—or if younger hearts are even listening. Statistics paint a sobering picture: nearly 70% of young adults raised in the church walk away as they enter adulthood. But this isn't just a statistic. It's a wake-up call to reclaim the power of spiritual legacy. In this episode, host Patti Garibay sits down with Kate and Mike Battistelli—parents to Grammy Award-winning artist Francesca Battistelli and faithful disciplers with a passion for legacy building. Together, they share powerful insights on how families can bridge the gap between generations, cultivating authentic connections that lead daughters and granddaughters to encounter Jesus for themselves. With wisdom drawn from both triumphs and trials, Kate and Mike reveal what spiritual legacy really looks like: everyday faithfulness, intentional mentoring, and a willingness to model surrender in a world that prizes independence. From the father's role in guiding and anchoring faith, to the Titus 2 calling for women to mentor the next generation, their conversation is a clarion call for every believer to show up, stay present, and speak life across generational lines. Whether you feel overlooked as an older mentor, hesitant as a younger parent, or simply burdened for your daughter's future, this episode will encourage you to take practical steps toward bridging the divide. Because when one generation commends God's works to another, His mighty acts echo far beyond our lifetimes. Referenced Scripture: Psalm 145:4 — “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” Titus 2:3–5 — The call for older women to disciple younger women. Deuteronomy 6:6–9 — Teaching God's Word diligently to the next generation. Learn more about Kate and Mike's ministry and resources at katebattistelli.com. In this episode of the Parsha Review Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe introduces Parshas Va'eschanan, which follows Tisha B'Av, a day of mourning for the destruction of the two Temples and other tragedies in Jewish history. The episode focuses on Moses' heartfelt pleas—515 prayers—to enter the Land of Israel, which God ultimately denies, commanding him to stop to avoid compelling divine acquiescence. Rabbi Wolbe is joined by his nephew, Avram Blackman, a seventh-grader from Toronto, who shares a profound insight on the parsha. Avram highlights Moses' resilience, noting that despite his unanswered prayers, Moses continued to teach and strengthen the Jewish people, delivering the Shema and Torah without complaint. Avram connects this to a personal story about his rebbe, who, unable to speak due to a medical procedure, wrote personalized, heartfelt letters to each student on the last day of school, pouring his love and pride into words that carried lasting impact. Avram compares this to the Torah itself, likening it to a divine letter from Hashem, written to endure beyond spoken words, ensuring an eternal connection. He addresses the question of why Moses prayed 515 times if his request was denied, explaining that prayer is about building a relationship with God, not just achieving desires. Each prayer brought Moses closer to Hashem, just as his rebbe's letters deepened the bond with his students. Rabbi Wolbe reinforces this, emphasizing that prayer elevates us spiritually, regardless of the outcome, and encourages listeners to see every prayer as a step toward divine closeness. The episode concludes with a blessing for fulfilled prayers and a meaningful Shabbos._____________This episode (Ep 7.41) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Va'eschanan is dedicated in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Studios (C) to an online TORCHzoom.com audience on August 4, 2025, in Passaic, New Jersey.Released as Podcast on August 4, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! What does it mean to inherit a sacred tradition? Alam Khan was born into one of the most revered lineages in Indian classical music - his father, Ali Akbar Khan, was hailed as one of the greatest musicians of the 20th Century and brought the spiritually rich sarod and rāga music to the West. But Alam's journey has not been one of simple inheritance. Presenter Rajeev Gupta follows Alam across California, from his father's grave to the family music school and into the quiet spaces where Alam seeks refuge. For Alam, it is a deeply personal wrestle: growing up American, immersed in rock and hip-hop, Alam resisted the weight of legacy. But after his father's death, something changed. Going through his father's recordings, he felt a cosmic calling - one that was more spiritual than familial.
