Claire Manley went from chasing PRs on the track to building a storytelling engine for athletes and running brands. She is the co-founder of Meet @ 7 Studios, a women-led social media and personal branding agency designed for professional runners and endurance athletes. Her work focuses on giving athletes Fortune 500-level strategy and visibility while helping them own their stories and reach new audiences. Before becoming a strategist and agency founder, Claire carved out her own story on the track.A walk-on at Gonzaga University, she battled her way to captaincy and scholarship status while setting a 5000m personal best of 16:31.06 at the Oxy Invitational (in May of 2019), along with collegiate bests of 10:04 for 3000m and 4:47 for 1500m, and qualifying for the NCAA West Preliminary Round that year. Her career timeline includes stops at Nike-sponsored Bowerman Track Club, where she built global community programs and launched the BTC Summer Training Program that drew participants from across 40 states and eight countries.Today, she runs Claire Manley Consulting in Brooklyn, continuing that momentum through her independent strategy work. Most recently, Claire has been active in Gonzaga's alumni ecosystem, engaging with career treks that connect current students to NYC's marketing and branding scene. While she may not be lining up for NCAA championships anymore, her presence in the endurance space remains sharp, shaping the way athletes connect, communicate, and thrive in an increasingly digital sport.Tap into the Claire Manley Special. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider following us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and giving us a five-star review!I would also appreciate it if you share it with your friend who you think will benefit from it.Comment the word “PODCAST” below and I'll DM you a link to listen. If this episode blesses you, please share it with a friend!S H O W N O T E S-The Run Down By The Running Effect (our new newsletter!): https://tinyurl.com/mr36s9rs-BUY MERCH BEFORE IT'S GONE: https://shop.therunningeffect.run-Our Website: https://therunningeffect.run-THE PODCAST ON YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClLcLIDAqmJBTHeyWJx_wFQ-My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therunningeffect/?hl=en-Take our podcast survey: https://tinyurl.com/3ua62ffz

Chris Rosenthall and Kevin Brown welcome veteran close defenseman Michael Manley to the show to discuss his Outlaws giving him a fourth chance at a professional championship. Manley is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year back in the MLL days playing for Tim Soudan for the Rattlers (he actually started playing for Soudan at the club level before he got to Duke, where he won a NCAA title in 2010), and made it to three title games in 2014, 2015 and 2018. Manley discussed how he originally thought about retiring two years ago before Soudan drafted Brennan O'Neill and traded for Pat Kavanagh, re-energizing his efforts these past couple seasons. Rosie and Kevin also recapped the semifinal victories for the New York Atlas against the Waterdogs and Denver against California, setting the stage for what promises to be an epic clash in the title game on Sept. 14.

In this episode, Christian Manley, Principal of the Battle Creek STEM Innovation Center, helps us dive into Covey's reminder that “you can do something about this.” Trust isn't out of our control—it begins with self-trust rooted in both character and competence. Christian shares her journey as a teacher and leader, offering powerful examples of stewardship, empowerment, and creating a culture where teachers feel trusted to lead learning. She reflects on how high-trust leadership reduces costs, speeds up progress, and frees principals from micromanaging while building ownership among staff. Her stories bring Covey's principle to life, showing that trust is not just a value but a skill leaders can model and grow in themselves and others.

Send us a text message and tell us your thoughts. What drives someone to pick up a camera and document untold Caribbean history with no formal training? For Richard Vaughn, it was a simple realization: the political stories that shaped the modern Caribbean were either missing from film archives or told through a heavily biased lens. Vaughn takes us on his remarkable journey from curious Jamaican-American to award-winning documentary filmmaker. With us, he describes what would become "The Love Trilogy" – three powerful documentaries examining pivotal Caribbean political figures: Michael Manley of Jamaica, the Grenada Revolution, and Cheddi Jagan of Guyana. The trilogy's name emerged organically from Manley's own words about his political movement: "The word is love."The conversation weaves together reflections on Caribbean self-determination, the connection between political movements and cultural expressions like reggae music, and practical advice for aspiring documentarians. Vaughn's simple guidance resonates beyond filmmaking: identify what needs preserving in your community's history, start with whatever resources you have, and persist despite obstacles. Listen now to discover how documentary film serves as both historical preservation and a tool for balanced understanding of the Caribbean's complex political landscape. What stories in your community deserve similar documentation?Richard Vaughan born in New York to Jamaican immigrants in 1980. Driven by a passion for his culture and determination to educate and tell stores that history often forgets. Winner of the Madrid International Filmmaker Festival 2017 for Best Editing of a Documentary and the 2017 Van Gogh Award: Prodigy Auteur at the 2017 Amsterdam Film Festival for his second documentary Rolling Along: An Inline Movement. In his engaging and visually impactful message titled "Nail it", Pastor Rodney Manley brought the Word to life once again—complete with his signature use of props on stage. Centering on 2 Kings 6:8-16 and Ephesians 6:10-12, Pastor Rodney walked us through a spiritual strategy for overcoming opposition and stepping into purpose. He reminded us to pray for permission like Nehemiah's builders who worked with one hand and held a weapon in the other, to prepare ourselves through study of God's Word, to move into position by facing the enemy boldly, and to receive promotion by living with compassion and service to others. This message wasn't just inspiring—it was a call to action for spiritual readiness, faith-filled positioning, and kingdom impact.
