Gerald is the son of culturally Buddhist immigrants from Taiwan, the Rev. Gerald C. Liu, PhD is an ordained United Methodist Elder of the Mississippi Annual Conference and currently serves as Emerging Faith Communities Cultivator for the Great Plains Annual Conference. His role helps to revitalize an ecology of 716 United Methodist congregations across Kansas and Nebraska roiled by disagreements over human sexuality and to start new ministries. Previously, he resourced 3,000 students and counting, and budgets that together exceeded $10 million as Director of Collegiate Ministries, Initiatives, and Belonging for the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
