“Without heart, our vision would have no soul. Inviting the heart triad into our vision casting transforms what is possible.”  ~Tami Imlay REGISTER NOW!!!!  VISION LAB https://go.tamimariecoaching.com/visionlab Oct 30 & 31, Nov 5 & 6  Times: 12- 1 CST (each day) This will be a 4-session workshop!   Plan to be there live- there will be a replay ONLY for those who sign up!  ** As a special promotion- the first 30 people to sign up for Vision Lab get to bring a guest! Gotta LOVE a good BOGO! **   In this episode, we delve into the intricate relationship between vision and the Enneagram, focusing on the heart triad, which includes types two, three, and four. We are continuing our theme VISION for the month, and I wanted to give another way to really understand yourself when it comes to creating a vision (or what may be stopping you).    Through the lens of the Enneagram, we can examine our focus and what is stopping us from experiencing the full experience of developing a vision. It's more than what you are afraid to say…or admit. It's more like, “Where are my instincts keeping me safe rather than allowing me to get out of my comfort zone? "  Last episode we talked about the GUT triaid! Go back and listen! Our next episode will be on the Head Triad!  Stay tuned for that!    NEW RESOURCE: If you want to create a business (or have started one and want to grow faster)- Vision is SO important! A limited vision is one of the three biggest mistakes I have seen. Want to know how? Get my free resource below! Check out this resource I created with you in mind!  3 BIGGEST MISTAKES MADE WHEN STARTING A BUSINESS  Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.   Key Takeaways: Integration of Triads: The podcast emphasizes the importance of integrating the gut, heart, and head triads in the vision-casting process to achieve a holistic perspective. Heart Triad Focus: The heart triad, comprising types two, three, and four, is emotionally oriented, prioritizing connection, identity, and authenticity in vision-casting. Type Two Challenges and Strengths: Type twos, the helpers, often prioritize others' needs over their own, leading to reliance on external validation. However, their empathy and generosity enable them to craft impactful visions and build strong networks. Type Three Challenges and Strengths: Type threes, the achievers, may pursue visions lacking personal fulfillment due to societal expectations and fear of failure. Their ambition and adaptability make them effective visionaries who inspire others. Type Four Challenges and Strengths: Type fours, the individualists, struggle with overthinking and emotional overwhelm, which can hinder vision-setting. Their creativity and emotional depth allow them to create authentic and meaningful visions. Vision Lab: The podcast introduces the concept of a vision lab, a supportive environment for exploring and expanding visions, encouraging growth and impact. Welcome to part two of our Enneagram mini-series! Mimí and Ciera continue the Enneagram talk with an astrological lens, and this episode is all about The Heart Triad. There are nine Enneagram personality types, and those nine personality types make up three triads. The second triad, The Heart Triad, consists of Enneagram 2, 3, and 4. These types operate from feeling (or shame): 2s externalize it, 3s are unaware of it, and 4s internalize it. Are any of these your Enneagram type? Do you agree that these three numbers have some very clear zodiac signs associated with them based on their descriptions? This week, we talk to Emily Phillippi about The Enneagram and what it means to learn about ourselves. In our conversation, we dive into the Enneagram's origins, nine core types, and practical applications in personal growth, relationships, and coaching. Join us as we explore its power for self-awareness, navigating blind spots, and fostering compassion within relationships. Emily has been voraciously studying the Enneagram for years. Noting the unique way the Enneagram puts clear language to the motivation behind the things we do.. and the narratives we tell ourselves, Emily found the concepts tremendously insightful and practical for her own self-awareness and personal growth. She decided to pursue coursework to become a certified Enneagram Coach in 2021, taking on initial clients in the summer of 2022. She has found the Enneagram to be quite useful in marriages, giving couples insight into and increased compassion for their partner. Emily's passion for reflection, introspection, relationships, and intentional living combined with her B.A. in Psychology (...and English and French) and M.A. in Education have found their home in Enneagram coaching. There are three triads to the Enneagram: Body, Heart, and Head. Numbers 2, 3, and 4 comprise the Heart triad, which is a fundamental feeling orientation to the world - they process it through emotions. The Heart triad's main struggle is shame, a feeling of unworthiness or not good enough. Twos may seek appreciation for helping, threes may seek admiration for achievements, and fours may seek affirmation for uniqueness. We conclude the Heart Triad portion of our Enneagram ConvoCast series with a returning guest and member of our community, Alex! Both Alex and Tom share their motivations, fears, stress, and security as a Type Four (the Individualist or Romantic). As members of our YOB community, how does their Four-ness manifest in the realms of sexuality, masculinity, and relating with other men? Tom and Alex discuss the qualities they love about being Fours: artistic, empathetic, and yes, unique. In times of security they're objective and productive, taking action and creating things that add beauty to the world. A Four's "superpower" is empathy, giving others permission to "feel all the feels" with them, too. Tom and Alex also dive into their dark side of Four-ness: the neediness, the manipulation, the constant craving for approval, particularly from other men. Fours are often described as people who perceive lacking a critical "missing piece," and as queer or SSA men this hits especially deep for Tom and Alex. In adolescence did they miss some critical component for masculinity or sexuality, along with connecting with the other boys? What is the path forward for a Four in those whirlwinds of emotional stress? Listen to our full Enneagram conversation, and be sure to follow us these last few weeks as we finish dialing around the Enneagram with each type in our community! Ennegram type Fours are some of the deepest, most beautiful souls on the planet. In fact, Fours have been described by some as the ‘Bringers of Holy Beauty' and Fours are often incredibly and distinctively creative. Members of the Heart Triad of the enneagram, they can display a seemingly unlimited range of emotions, ranging from deep melancholy and darkness to fantastically bright and beautiful and everywhere in between. Fours deeply feel they are somehow different from everyone else, and while they might love being different that dynamic can also be quite frustrating for them as they regularly wrestle with a sense that there is always something essential ‘missing', that they may even be disconnected from their Source. In this episode I get to catch up with Lauren Taylor, who identifies as an Ennegram ego-type Four. Speaking of ‘identity' , Lauren also identifies as wife, mother, counselor, Auburn football fan and - most significantly for her - Christ-follower. Listen in as Lauren recounts some of her life journey as a Four and how God has been tenderly revealing a unique plan.

Part 2 of Enneagram and Your Speaking style.  Jenn Whitmer, Enneagram coach is back again to share more about the enneagram heart triad today.  If you missed the first episode, find it here Enneagram Twos are our first type and they are warm people who love to shepherd their audience along.  They lean into the connection with the audience.  The challenge for the Two is balancing the warm, caring with details and facts.  Twos act on emotion and adding facts to their talks will enable them to reach more. Enneagram Threes are motivational speakers at heart and are excellent at reading the room.  They know when to lift the room up and when to bring it down a notch.  The Threes don't find it easy to share failures and can focus only on their successes -- which makes it difficult for an audience to connect.  Enneagram Fours are our romantics -- and where the Threes tend to gloss over failure, the Fours will share all their failures.  The Fours show us how to handle disappointment and tragedy.  The challenge for the Fours is to move out of the failure and into the next phase. That's our Heart Triad -- next week is our final part to the series, the Head triad.  Join me and Jenn as we talk about types 5,6 and 7.For more information on Jenn and the enneagram:Jenn Whitmer websiteEnneagram informationMy favorite books on the EnneagramThe Road back to You by Ian Cron & Suzanne StabileJeff & Beth McCords on each Enneagram Type

It's a gallery opening for The Artist who is known for their unique and captivating work.  The Investigator looks at the details of the art, being an expert in all the artists of this genre, his critique is highly regraded.  The Loyalist has been following The Artist since they were showing at University, believing the profundity locked in the art will finally quell their doubts about life.  The Enthusiast is also there with two lovers on their arm and a martini in hand as they flit from guest to guest with a certain joie de vivre.  Do any of the characters in this scene remind you of a friend or even yourself?  How and why do we behave the way we do? Our personality, temperament and style are complex and sometimes can feel like a trap.  The search for safety is one that starts from a young age, especially if the home you grew up in was somehow dangerous, unstable, or unsafe.  The hidden wounds of these types reflect a deep relentless fear. Kevin and Niseema continue the journey through the points of the Enneagram finishing the Heart Triad with Type 4 (the Artist) and continuing with The Mind Triad Type 5 (the Investigator), Type 6 (the Loyalist), and Type 7 (the Enthusiast) to validate how children adopt behaviors to manage fear and insecurity in very different ways.  Recognizing the type of person you have become or are in relationship with gives you the opportunity to relate to yourself and others with compassion and empathy. -----------------------------------------For more information or support contact Kevin or Niseema at: info@thepositivemindcenter.com, or call 212-757-4488. You can sign up for our weekly newsletter at www.tffpp.org.These are challenging times and we hope this episode served to validate and ease your anxiety about what you may be experiencing. Please feel free to also suggest show ideas to the above email. Thank you for listening,Kevin and Niseemawww.tffpp.orghttps://www.kevinlmhc.comwww.niseema.comwww.thepositivemindcenter.comPRODUCTION CREDITSOpening Music : Another Country, Pure Shadowfax, ShadowfaxBreak Music: Original Composition by Geoff BradyEnd Music : TFFPP Theme - Giullian Goiello for The Foundation for Positive PsychologyThe Positive Mind is produced with the help of:Engineering: Geoff BradyResearch and Production Associate: Connie Shannon Website Design and End Music: Giullian GioelloMarketing and PR: Jen Maguire, Maguire PR, jen@maguirepr.com

Jillian Henson Gilliam, Certified Enneagram Professional and Reiki Master is more than just a fellow Enneagram enthusiast. She’s my friend. I mean that but the truth is, if you ever meet Jillian then you too will immediately feel like you’re her friend. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of an Ennneagram Type 2…the gift of opening their heart and welcoming people right in. Many times Type 2s are referred to as “The Giver” and that was so evident when we share the story of Jillian giving me a bracelet that says "Chose Joy". From her story of adoption to starting a business in the middle of a pandemic to revealing to me in the middle of our conversation that she was diagnosed with Covid19, this conversation was 100% from the heart which isn’t surprising since Type 2s sit right in the middle of the Heart Triad. Type 2s are so ‘other focused’ that they can posses, as Jillian calls it, “overactive relational thinking.’ “Covid forced me to pay attention to myself”, she said. Even though she was in total quarantine for 3 weeks she found a way to connect with and give encouragement to her neighborhood through window art that she created with her son. As neighbors walked past her house they could see signs they made that said things like… ”We can do hard things” and “Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all.” ~Emily Dickinson To WATCH this on YouTube visit the LoveThyNumber Channel You can connect with Jillian at: EnneagramAtlanta Website Facebook Instagram Colorstreet The cards referenced in this podcast are from LovePoweredCo. #Enneagram #Enneagram2 #Covid19 #Adoption #AdoptionStory #Reiki #EnneagramTeacher #EnneagramAtlanta

Last winter we had a vision of compiling 18 interviews, 2 people from each Enneagram type, to create a 3-part Enneagram series for our podcast. Our goal was to share personal experiences of each of the nine types to create a resource that would expose those studying the Enneagram to lived narratives of each type. Our formal training of the Enneagram has been through The Narrative Enneagram tradition, which values the human experience of each type over descriptions in a book. Our best teachers have been friends, family, and acquaintances who have shared their realities with us in relation to their type structure. Our vision for organizing the information and testimonials that we collected was to organize the series into three triads; the triads of the body, heart, and head. Our second episode includes the three types in the heart triad (types 2, 3, and 4).To learn more about the Enneagram, visit www.agapewell.com/enneagram ; you can also join us for our weekly virtual Everything Enneagram chats! To learn more about what we do at A.G.A.P.E. You are empathetic, passionate, and in tune with your feelings. You crave authenticity from others and have tremendous capacity for deep, meaningful connection. Traps: Fixated on what is missing, tendency to turn inward or withdraw in times of difficulty, overly idealistic and envious of others. Core fear: Being fundamentally flawed or lacking, having no significance Enneagram 3 // The Achiever // You are driven to achieve success, goal-oriented and focused on being excellent. You are active, busy, efficient, and self-assured. People know you to be competent and capable - a natural leader. You inspire others to perform at their best. Traps: Seeking validation through accomplishments, becoming out of touch with your feelings, being overly image-conscious, impatient. Core fear: Being unworthy or unloved, failure and worthlessness.

Sermon Series Description The Enneagram is a personality typing system built around why we do what we do. By examining our motivations, it can help us not only understand the way we see and act in the world, but it can help us identify the defense mechanisms we use to get through life. And ultimately, the better we understand ourselves, the more we can hear God’s specific message of love and grace toward us. Sermon Description The Enneagram’s Heart Triad - 2, 3, 4 1 John 4:7-11, 19-21 Those in the heart triad struggle with feeling loved for who they are, and so they craft themselves into what they think the world will value. They can change the world through their kindness, focus, and creativity. The good news of the Gospel for people dominant in these types is that God loved us first, before we ever had a chance to try to earn it.

Each triad is focused on and searching for something different: - Heart Triad is searching for significance - Head Triad is searching for security - Gut Triad is searching for satisfaction The only problem is, the VEHICLE we choose to take on our quest (aka our type's instinct) only pushes us further from our goal. How do we get to our destination? That is the topic of this week's "Coaching Conversation"

The following test, tools and questions will help you know what number (and wing) you are on the enneagram.   Knowing Your Enneagram Number Can Change Your Life For Christmas several years ago, my mother-in-law gave everyone in our family a copy of The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self Discovery.  Literally everyone in the family dove into the book and became intrigued with discovering our types. With the help of our family member Jordan Jones, we are all now clear on our types. Now, we understand and relate to one another from the lens of our types. Some specific examples:       Finding Your Enneagram Number is a Process Finding your enneagram number or type is easier for some than others. Although a few folks might score heavily in one number on a test, most of us need exploration to determine our type. For most of us, determining our enneagram type is a journey. A process. A path of exploration and introspection.     Steps to Finding Your Enneagram Number Start By Taking an Enneagram Test There are myriad enneagram type tests online. Some are free; some are paid.  Jordan advises starting with the free test below to get an idea of where you might land on the enneagram type spectrum. I am including a Myers-Briggs test as an added bonus for those who want to know your MB type as well. Enneagram test: https://www.9types.com/rheti/index.php Myers-Briggs free test: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp Read Enneagram Type Descriptions Once you have an idea of your top 2-3 enneagram types, reading descriptions of each type can help you narrow down even further. There are several places to find good descriptions. In Ian Cron's The Road Back to You, you'll find descriptions titled "What it's like to be a _____" that precede that specific type's chapter. Reading these numbered items and checking off ones that apply to you can be helpful in nailing your number. Beatrice Chestnut's, The Complete Enneagram, has an a fabulous appendix. In Help With Identifying Your Enneagram Type: Discerning the Difference Between Pairs and Types, you'll see the differences and similarities between types. Example: 7's and 8's are similar, but this book points out subtle nuances that help differentiate the two. Narrow Down Your Number By Understanding Triads Another way to narrow down your number is to look at the triads that make up the enneagram. Descriptions of each type sometimes focus more on behavior; triads look at motivations for behavior.   In The Road Back to You Study Guide,  Ian Cron    shares the 3 triads and which enneagram types fall into each.  In trying to determine your number, look at the triads and how certain numbers tend to react by default in certain situations. The Gut Triad. Types 8 (challenger) 9 (peacemaker) and 1 (perfectionist). First impulse~do something. Tendency~act before thinking. Underlying emotion~anger. The Heart Triad. Types 2 (helper) 3 (performer) 4 (romantic). First impulse~feel something. Tendency~be overly emotional. Underlying emotion~shame. The Head Triad. Type 5 (investigator) 6 (loyalist) and 7 (enthusiast). First impulse~think and plan. Tendency~to overthink.  Underlying emotion~fear.   How to Find Your Enneagram Wing Once you find your enneagram number, you can then move on to finding your "wing." This number will be flanking your enneagram number. For example, if you are an enneagram 5, you will have a wing 4 or a wing 6. If you are an enneagram 9, your wing will be either a 1 or 8. In some cases, people are "balanced wings" with equal influence from both sides.   Please note that I am NOT an enneagram expert (but Jordan is:-). I just love the enneagram and all that we can learn from it to grow personally and relationally. If you have any questions for Jordan or any thoughts to share, please leave them in the comments below. As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you a joyful, blessed and savvy day!
