Well...I already broke that resolution to share that I am auntie of my first nephew! Not only is it a new year, but it is also a new decade. Before I got off social media (for five whole days), many of my friends posted pictures of themselves in 2009 or 2010 alongside their pics from 2019. Though the challenge showed tremendous growth for many of them, it was a reminder to me of some of the devastating events of the past 10 years. Once I relocated to SoCal, however, I had no choice but to see a doctor because the symptoms had gotten worse as the year progressed. Without going into too many details, I would learn that my symptoms were probably a result of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Wow! I finally got an answer and found relief in an instant. As you will hear in this very transparent episode, I did make it to San Diego, but not without a period of uncertainty. At the peak of my growing anxiety, I decided to pause. I took a deep breath. I did what the younger version of me learned to do to cope with life and that was to WRITE! I encouraged myself by imagining the gratitude my future self would have because the present me kept going. I spoke hope into her. I spoke to the part of her that was still hurt by losing opportunities that would have suffocated the possibility of the #VonneVoyage had everything gone right.Maybe you are at a similar crossroads between who you used to be and what you can become.
