How do you build your character on social media? My guest, Lauren Litt, joins me in talking about the importance of showing up online. Lauren is the owner and lead Social Media Manager at Lil Shameless Plug. Lil Shameless Plug is a social media management company dedicated to the curation and creation of quality content for the creative entrepreneur. Over a decade as an actor, Lauren Litt had many incredibly talented friends, not all of them knew how to promote themselves online. And so, in 2014, Lil Shameless Plug was born. In creating Lil Shameless Plug, her goal was to help creative entrepreneurs build an online web presence to help them find their audience and expand their communities. Specifically, we talk about: How Lauren leverages her career as an actress in her social media business The importance of delegation Creating social media that builds relationships Knowing your limits in business and the online space Top 3 Business Challenges: Encountering resistance and challenge from prospects who don't understand why they would need Social Media for their business. It's been a process to learn how to help others see just how powerful of a tool Social Media can be. Being a bit of a control freak and perfectionist - two qualities that make me good at my job because they lend themselves to the small details - has been the biggest challenge to overcome in order to allow myself to grow as a business. Learning how to let go and allow others to do their job, even if it was different from the way I would go about it. Expanding my Email list of high quality leads as I am focusing more on enrolling for my educational group coaching program, Social Happy. A large majority of my existing list falls into a different demographic than my target audience. How do we create sustainable energy and systems when it comes to entrepreneurship? With so many tasks to do, and creating exceptional client experiences, having systems that support our energy and business growth is so important. Joining me for this episode is Christina Asai, a Business Coach focused on helping Business owners who know visibility is an inevitable part of doing business online and who desire to do it in a bigger, effective and genuine way. Leaning into her background as a former sales director and 20,000+ hours of mindfulness practice, Christina is most recognized for her holistic approach to helping business owners overcome mental roadblocks so they can own their unique story. As a result of working together her clients have landed speaking opportunities, corporate partnerships with companies ranked on Fortune's ‘Change the World' List, and podcast appearances as guests in their area of expertise. Specifically, we talk about: - The power of messy action - The building blocks behind bringing your vision to life - The importance of having a backup plan and being adaptable - How Christina leverages her previous career and experience when it comes to working with clients - Why it's imperative to work with clients that are aligned to you - Giving yourself grace and enjoying the journey Top 3 Business Challenges: - Embracing showing up consistently may look differently for you than it does for other business owners. Not getting caught up in the comparison trap of “Am I doing enough?” Trusting your own process, knowing when to make an intentional effort at maintaining visibility by planning ahead for LIFE. - Being too close to your business, what your gifts are and what you are able to do with joy and ease. Remembering to speak to your strengths so that others can see you and allowing yourself to be seen without having to do more to earn it. - Finding reliable talent that you can count on to help offload tasks that drain you or eat up a lot of your time. Constantly revisiting how I spend my time, taking a nonjudgmental approach to evaluating myself and my output (being hard on myself for not meeting the deadlines I may set for myself). Ensuring I'm prioritizing time to continue to learn ways to optimize my day, workflow, and systems in my business to keep me growing without compromising on my presence and quality of my services. Do you ever find yourself lacking motivation to move the needle forward in your business? You're certainly not alone, and this is what we're talking about in this episode with Michelle Beaton. Michelle is a Personal Fitness Trainer at BEATS Fitness. She worked in the Hospitality industry a majority of her Career up until September 2021. During College, Michelle and Jacqueline worked together at the Mutiny Hotel in Miami, Florida. Last year, Michelle became unhappy in her career to the point she started becoming more scared to stay the same than to make the change. She doubled down and got her certification for Personal Training and was able to secure a job at a gym. Michelle always had the intention and desire to work for herself - so she could call the shots and do things as she pleased - aligned with her morals and values. She reconnected with Jacqueline one day randomly through FaceBook and then that Journey of working on my Business began and became very real. Michelle had previously attempted to start a Business once before in 2018 while she was still working for Marriott. She even got her Certification in Group Training at that time. But, Life happened and she was not able to keep it going. This time around, she felt it was really meant to be and it was the right timing. Even came up with a name that felt more like me and felt everything had come full circle. Specifically, we talk about: - How Michelle turned a hard phase of life into her dream business - Where the name of her company came from - The challenges she faces every day as a new business owner - The power of being intentional with your time and energy - Why people lack discipline and where it stems from - The mentality behind getting prepared and staying the course of what we want to do Current Business Challenges - As a New Business Owner, Michelle says sticking to a Routine/Schedule is to ensure time doesn't escape her. - Being too hard on herself - wanting everything to be perfect instead of perfecting things along the way and accepting where she is in the process. She is learning as she goes and is adopting confidence! Business Advice: Believe in yourself & stay true to yourself - follow your intuition even if it's scary. You know that internal nudge, the one you get when you know you're meant for more, but you quiet it down because it's safer to do so? Her company, MMS Consulting Firm, is a place where all women can come to feel their best.
