An Ennis-based financial consultant has hailed the decision to further decrease the rate of inflation to end the year, claiming energy prices have now levelled out. Inflation has been further curtailed in 2024, now sitting at 2.9%, largely in part to the stabilising of costs of oil and gas nationwide. Tommy Corbett from Carey Corbett Financial Solutions claims that 2025 is likely to see that number dip below 2% and continue to decrease in the following years. He says inflation is largely under control, but that it is dependent on the Eurozone and the actions of European Central Bank.

With 45 billion dollars under advisement, Innovest is one of the largest commercial Christian financial consultants in the marketplace. In Ep. 90, CEO and co-founder Rich Todd joined Jerry to talk about the evils of ESG, the way that Christians' money has been weaponized against them, and why it is imperative to have aligned companies helping Christian institutions with their portfolio construction. Financial consultants are different from financial advisors and asset managers in that financial consultants tend to work with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and with institutions. Their function is not generally to manage money but rather to work in the institutional space to help large investors decide who should manage their money. Todd talks about the powerful pressure towards the left and towards secularism in the finance industry. and how ESG & DEI have been the levers used to apply that pressure. Christians, including large Christian institutions, have naively entrusted their values decisions and their voices to people who despise everything they stand for. Todd also emphasizes that faith-alignment does not have to come at the cost of professional excellence or market returns.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One of the biggest expenses in a doctor's career is tax, and so it's crucial to understand how to manage it effectively. That's according to Matt Homewood, Financial Consultant at the Bongiorno Group. In this episode he is joined by Nic Pereira, Accountant at the Bongiorno Group, who both insist it's important to operate within the law when claiming deductions, as penalties for crossing the line can be severe. They discuss the three rules for deductions: incurrence (ensure you personally incurred the expense); proof (keep detailed receipts or invoices); and relevance (deductions must be directly related to your current employment). Consulting a tax professional can maximise your deductions and ensure compliance with tax regulations, ultimately reducing your taxable income. With over 70 million freelancers in the U.S., freelancing obviously appeals to a lot of workers and offers a lot of benefits to those who wish to work for themselves. However, it doesn't offer a 401(k) program, and that means saving for retirement is not as easy as filling out a form and giving it to HR. In fact, freelancers are essentially their own HR department, and that adds some complexity. On this episode of Financial Decoder, host Mark Riepe speaks with Susan Hirshman, a director of wealth management for Schwab Wealth Advisory and the Schwab Center for Financial Research. They discuss the challenges freelancers face in their financial lives, as well as the options they have to invest for retirement and get the most out of their savings. To read the study Mark references about the effect of visualization on risk-taking, Check out "Imagining Risk Taking: The Valence of Mental Imagery Is Related to the Declared Willingness to Take Risky Actions" in the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making.Follow Financial Decoder for free on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen.Financial Decoder is an original podcast from Charles Schwab. Today on HerCsuite® Radio, Lisa shares valuable insights on how to turn your 'someday' into tangible goals that you can start achieving today3 Tips to Create Your Bucket List:1. Visualization is Key: Start Dreaming BigOne of the most powerful tools you can use when creating your bucket list is to imagine what you want to do and when. Start by thinking about about what makes you happy. 2. Baby Steps Matter: Get Started With Small GoalsIt's important to remember that progress no matter how small is important. "Taking baby steps is so powerful." It's okay if you're not able to create a comprehensive bucket list all at once. Start small, and gradually work your way up to creating the big ideas.3. Start Planning Now: Don't Wait Until You RetireThe best way to start is reframing what a bucket list is and when it takes place. Reframe your mindset from waiting to retire to living out your dreams at every life phase."People need to be able to dream, not just in retirement, but dream now and take action now." The sooner you start planning, the sooner you can start turning your dreams into reality.Creating a bucket list is not just about setting goals for the future; it's about learning to live in the present and make the most out of every moment. As Lisa Sakai says, "Stop saying 'someday' and start living your dreams today." So why wait?
