It was dreadful deja vu for Dundee as Tony Docherty's men were hammered 6-0 for a second successive fixture. The team discuss the Dee's capitulation at Celtic Park – days after the same outcome against Hearts – which leaves the Dark Blues as the most porous side in the Premiership. What went wrong? Where is the resilience? And how much pressure is on their Scottish Cup showdown against Airdrieonians. We also look at what the run-in looks like for Rangers-bound Lyall Cameron. Across the road, Dundee United have a free weekend following their cup exit at Dens – but still managed to hit the headlines. The Tangerines have called for reform to the VAR and KMI (Key Match Incident) panel processes following the latest controversy involving the Terrors. We outline United's grievances – from inconsistency to the pressure being put on referees – and ask: is it time to scrap VAR altogether? Joining host Tom Duthie is Graeme Finnan alongside Courier Sport writers George Cran and Alan Temple. Twa Teams, One Street is proud to be supported by SPAR Scotland. On this week's show, Killie pies prove to be a league above Arbroath smokies as the Championship's decision day breaks bunnet-clad hearts; Cove ease their way to the League One title despite the best efforts of battling Airdrieonians; League Two loses its final piece of jeopardy as Stenny falter; and it's a tale of two playoffs in the pyramid, only one of which actually goes ahead. All this and more, on this week's edition of the Auchterarder Chippy.Music Credits: Duck In The Alley, TrackTribeAir Fàir An Là, Niteworks (ft. SIAN)
In this week's episode, the panel discuss a huge game at the top of League One as Cove look to cement their title hopes on the road against nearest-challengers Airdrieonians. At the bottom end of the table, Peterhead are in desperate need of a result to drag themselves clear of lingering danger. Elsewhere, we look at Connor Barron's emergence into an influential figure in the Aberdeen midfield, Caley Thistle's mini-revival ahead of the play-offs and a look at some of the potential new faces who could feature for Scotland ahead of their friendly double-header.
This week, reaction to Aberdeen not signing a striker in the transfer window. With Marley Watkins injured, is there now unfair pressure on Christian Ramirez? Dylan McGeouch staked his claim in the Dons' midfield in the 1-1 draw at Ross County, but questions remain about Funso Ojo in attacking midfield. Given their away form, is Saturday's trip to Livingston a scarier proposition for Aberdeen than Celtic at Pittodrie? For County, holding on to Regan Charles-Cook was their best piece of January business – and could guarantee Premiership survival. Meanwhile, can Inverness – with Austin Samuels now in their ranks - use a run of home games to string some much-needed wins together, and would a win for Cove Rangers be a knock-out blow to Airdrieonians in League One?
Mark Chapman, Micah Richards, Chris Sutton and Karen Carney discuss the fall-out from Manchester Utd's humiliating defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford. The panel assess Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future and welcome ESPN's Senior Writer, Mark Ogden for the latest on speculation that Antonio Conte could replace him. The topic of leadership and Harry Maguire's presence in the team is up for debate as are the personnel behind the scenes at Carrington. The Monday Night Club then chat about West Ham's form, Michail Antonio's goals and Aaron Cresswell's corners. Airdrie FC's defender Craig Watson then joins the podcast to talk about their extraordinary game with Dumbarton. TOPICS: 02:20 – Reaction to Manchester Utd's defeat to Liverpool 06:30 – Mark Ogden on Solskjaer's future and coaching methods 21:00 – Conte next? 24:11 – What are Utd are good at? 29:30 – Leadership and Maguire 38:00 – West Ham's form 51:20 - Airdrieonians 3-2 Dumbarton

It's a welcome first for the podcast as there are FOUR women on one episode. Co-host John B and regular Erin are joined by Celtic fan Natasha Meikle, regular contributor to A Celtic State of Mind, Falkirk Foundation Business Manager Stephanie Dawson, who also oversees Falkirk Women's development from age 7 and up, and Airdrieonians fan Katie Robertson. The ladies all share their experiences in how they all got into football and why they chose following their respective clubs, with Katie adding how hers is a family day out as she takes both her kids to the Penny Cars Stadium. Stephanie tells us about her role in growing the Women's game at Falkirk, which leads to an interesting discussion about the Women's game in Scotland and, whilst there are significant improvements in the promotion of the game, the ladies all point out that there's still a long way to go. We then discuss the chauvinistic stereotypes about women in football, in particular pundits and coaches, and Natasha highlights her examples from appearing on Sky Sports News, and the issues with social media in not combating online abuse. We round off with some slow fire questions including the ladies best 6 a-side team. This is our podcasts first Women's Special, and it won't be the last. Gamba, Jonny and Lewis talk about all the goings on in the weekend that was in Scottish Football. The Old Firm, Kris Boyd, Sportscene's shite angles and Neil Lennon channeling his inner Brock Lesnar were all talked about as the boys covered every game in the top flight. Peter Houston going from Falkirk and Dunfermline's good form came under the spotlight as they looked at Championship before attention then turned to the lower leagues as Airdrieonians look to emulate Donald Trump and fight the fake news industrial complex of the local press. Jonny gave us a report from his return to Broadwood and we even had time to briefly look at a few results from the early rounds of the Scottish Cup. All of this and more on episode 166, and as always send your thoughts and questions for the next pod on Twitter @burstbawpodcast or by commenting on our Facebook page.
The Burst Baw returns to look over the weekend that was in Scottish Football. Gamba, Lewis sat down in Ayr and Matt and Tom phoned in to chat about the biggest Lanarkshire derby ever. In history. Ever. Full stop. Hearts being crap and decent at the same time against Rangers. Celtic's quest for an undefeated season passing its biggest challenge in their 3-1 win at Aberdeen. Attention then turns to the lower leagues where Brechin and Alloa will be playing for a place in the Championship at the expense of Raith Rovers and Airdrieonians. Things are then rounded off with more Gary Locke chat and answering your questions and comments. Enjoy, and let us know what you thought of the show by tweeting @burstbawpodcast or by commenting below.
Was this the decisive weekend in the Premiership? Krys is joined by John and Andy this week to discuss the big games at the top and the bottom of the top division. Prior to that we look down the pyramid to the Lowland and Highland Leagues, with one clinched and one just about there, as well as the team they might face from League Two now decided too. At the other end of League Two, it's looking all done and dusted for top spot but the playoffs are still as tight as they can be. League One's relegation positions are almost as tight, with Airdrieonians in particular still in the hunt for both promotion and relegation! In the Championship, Hibernian's awful form continues while Rangers have clinched a Championship and Challenge Cup double since the last podcast. The three teams in the promotion playoff are now confirmed, but the order could still be a crucial factor in seeing who goes on to face Premiership opposition. With the split in the Premiership now upon us, there's disappointment at the lack of derbies - although one could be crucially timed depending on the fixture computer that hasn't churned out its results at time of recording. There's also a look ahead to the Scottish Cup semi finals and no one has any idea who will come out on top of either of them... but it won't be the Hampden pitch that's for sure. Thanks as always to McBookie for providing the stakes in our charity bet. No luck this weekend as for bursting wins ruined most of our picks. Hopefully more luck this weekend.
