114 | Sanja Hatter Shares How Follow Up and Being Professionally Annoying Brings in Revenue Do you ever worry that you’re being annoying when it comes to following up? Sanja Hatter is the co-founder of Thrive: Make Money Matter. This year at Thrive they plan to have over 2k attendees. In the past they have had speakers such as…. Eric Thomas, Gary Vee, Robert Herjavec, Les Brown, Ed Mylett, Grant Cardone, Lori Harder and many others. ( AttendThrive.Com ) At Thrive their attendees discover how to build and sustain a “for purpose” business model, going beyond just making money, but making money matter to create a tremendously positive impact. This is the intersection of success, wealth and legacy. Sanja is an immigrant from Serbia that never expected to have a life that she has today. In her first season of “adulthood” she earned a degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. She worked at Laguna Beach Police Department in Special Investigations/homicide and on the weekend was a bartender. Today Sanja is a wife, daughter, sister, mamapreneur CEO boss lady, philanthropist, chef, maid, bikini fitness champion, speaker, and a mama to two amazing little terrorists. Follow up can make or break your business, and it’s one of the most profitable activities you can do. Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs are afraid of follow up, because they don’t want to be annoying. Follow up can be fun and creative! When you take the time to follow up with your leads, investors, and clients in fun, creative ways, you get their attention, and they want to be part of what you’re doing. However, persistence is key! I credit my persistence with the success of this podcast. When you look at everyone that I’ve had the opportunity to interview and share their story, it’s amazing! Because of follow up, I’ve had seven and eight figure earners on the show. This week’s guest on Success Unfiltered, Sanja Hatter, puts the “pro” in being professionally annoying! She’s mastered the art of following up with people who speak at her annual Thrive Conference. Are you ready to conquer your fears of being annoying and see how follow up can change your business and increase your income? If so, this episode of Success Unfiltered is a MUST LISTEN! Learn why FOLLOW UP is the key to making more sales and skyrocketing your income, and let me show you 7 ways to make the perfect follow-up game plan! Here are a few key secrets we talked about in this episode: Michelle introduces Sanja Hatter. Sanja shares about the Thrive Conference, and how it’s meant to inspire entrepreneurs to make their money matter; to focus their business with a purpose. In the beginning, it was hard for Sanja to get speakers for the Thrive Conference! She would have to constantly be on social media, trying to connect with potential speakers to bring them in. When Sanja used her connections to contact a potential speaker, she was no longer just a name in their inbox - she was a valued connection, and that got her in the door many times! Several times, in the process, Sanja would negotiate the speakers fee, and work through the entire process, just to be told NO at the end; that they would end up speaking somewhere else that paid more. Persistence is key! Sometimes, pitching and connecting with people is all about finding a different way to connect, rather than the traditional pitch! “Rejection is fuel: just keep going.” ~ Sanja Hatter Keep your pitches short! Instead of a long pitch with pages of information, just start with a few sentences. Find an influencer’s “gatekeeper” and connect with them, so they can connect you to that person. You may even already have a connection! Bonus tip: check their LinkedIn profile. Do your research: be creative and thoughtful with gifts that you give and connections you make. Who was Sanja’s dream speaker at Thrive? Dwayne Johnson - she’s working on finding ways to be able to connect with him! Persistence was how she got Eric Thomas to speak at Thrive - it took three years of trying, and now he’s part of the past speakers at Thrive! You have to get knocked down, and keep getting back up! You’ll get kicked down a lot in business. Don’t take the NO personally! Sometimes, you have to say NO when someone doesn’t fit the vibe you’re looking for! Always trust your intuition. Never devalue someone because they aren’t at the same “level” of success as you! Sanja shares what she would tell her younger self. Catching Up On Real Estate, Entrepreneurship, and Value To Attend THRIVE With Legacy Perez and Cole Hatter AttendTHRIVE.com (http://attendthrive.com) Discover how to Make Money and Create Your Legacy! #MakeMoneyMatter Who is COLE HATTER?Hey, what’s up! My name is Cole Hatter, and this is the part where I tell you what makes me…me. Growing up I always knew I wanted to do something important with my life. I did not want to sneak through life unnoticed and arrive at my grave safely; I wanted to shake things up, make a difference, matter, be remembered, and have a blast while doing it. I believe most people would like to live a life that looks something like that. So, I decided to become a firefighter. What better way to give back, make a difference, and live a meaningful life than a career serving others? Unfortunately that dream was cut short by 2 accidents 2 months apart that left me in a wheel chair. Based on my injuries at that time, firefighting was out. My body was physically broken, my heart emotionally broken, and my bank account…it was “broke” too. Out of desperation and an uncertain future, I pursued entrepreneurship. Fast forward a few years, and I’ve started several multimillion dollar businesses, I’m living what others tell me is a dream life, and sure enough, it’s the life I dreamed of having. It’s important to know how to make the kind of money you’ve always dreamed of making, but it’s more important to not sacrifice actually living your life while you do it. Being rich financially is meaningless if you’re bankrupt emotionally, spiritually, in your relationships, and in your purpose. Who is LEGACY PEREZ?I remember as if it were yesterday, dancing on the streets of Miami for donations. Can you imagine watching a dance film and blindly thinking that one day You could be in a movie, so you decide to leave Miami with 240 dollars, running out of gas in New Orleans, having to street perform for money to continue the journey to LA and then arriving and almost getting arrested in Santa Monica (needing a permit to street perform) then finding your way into every night club trying to find the major choreographers to battle. Being recognized for the effort and getting hired to be in “Step Up 3” And countless other movies as well as touring with Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey and every major artist still active, making it into the top 2% of highest paid professional dancers. Thats a dream, more so a dream come true! Here’s how this relates to you, everyone has a dream and there are principles to achieve this dream of YOURS. I believe strongly with every ounce of my being that knowing the right time and getting out of your own way, as well as , giving yourself permission and coupled with a definite purpose (a clearly defined dream) and developing a burning

Cole Hatter is an entrepreneur and the creator of Thrive: Make Money Matter, the conference for entrepreneurs and business professionals who want to discover practical income-growing business strategies, create a positive impact in the world, and leave a lasting legacy. We explore Cole's story, what you can expect from Thrive 2017, and how he uses his platform to have a game-changing impact in the lives of others. Finding Your Community & Making an Impact At a young age, Cole's family and community exposed him to a life of giving, making an impact, and living a life of purpose. This made a big imprint on his life, and it's guided his career course. Even if you didn't grow up in a supporting community or don't have one now, it's not too late to find a group of people that share your core values and wants to make a difference in the world. It's just a matter of plugging in and finding those communities. We all have habits, hobbies, passions, and careers, so it's just a matter of identifying what those things are and finding people to share them with you. You have to take a quick survey of who you are to find connecting points. Turning Adversity into Impact When Cole was young, he had two car accidents in two months that left him physically broken, and he was emotionally broken after losing two friends. Cole knew he couldn't waste the rest of his life feeling sorry for surviving, so now he lives life big enough to honor all three of them. Thrive: Make Money Matter Cole's life is dedicated to changing the world, and he saw that there were a lot of other people who also wanted to own businesses that do the same. So he decided to start an event, called it Thrive, and tried to fill a room with entrepreneurs who want to make money AND make their money matter. Cole started the first Thrive because he wanted to share this message with the world, and he put $500,000 of his own money on the line to make it happen. The event gets awesome speakers – previous speakers include Gary Vaynerchuk, Jack Canfield, John Lee Dumas, Grant Cardone, Lewis Howes, and more – but, surprisingly (and appropriately), attendees say that their favorite part is the community of like-minded individuals who want to change the world. How To THRIVE in life with Cole Hatter. Cole Hatter is a millionaire entrepreneur and founder of Thrive. Thrive teaches entrepreneurs to dominate in business, use their influence and resources to generate a positive impact. The concept of 'Thrive' was derived from tough life lessons. Hatter began his career as a firefighter until two tragic accidents altered his destiny. The accidents occurred sixty four days apart, where Hatter lost his two best friends. Hatter was reeling from the grief of losing his two best friends. Overnight, he went from walking to a wheelchair spending a year in rehab, suffering a brain and spinal injury, and unable to see in one eye for six months. He made the mindset shift from victim to victor, using the circumstances to create a new stronger, version of himself. In 2005, Hatter entered the real estate market at the perfect time for it was booming. He was inundated with golden opportunities every where he turned and the income to match. He lived the high life, having loads of fun and driving fancy cars. A few years later his world came crashing down. In 2008, the economy and real estate market crashed, with no income Hatter sold everything he owned. Within twenty months, Hatter was a millionaire again. He was living life in a meaningful way and making his money matter.
