Book by Jonathan Haidt: The Anxious Generation _______________ Today we're diving into an enlightening conversation with Tom Chatfield, a British author and tech philosopher. Tom is the author of several books on good thinking in today's tech-dominated world, including “Critical Thinking” and “How to Think”. He also teaches these skills to diverse audiences, ranging from schools to corporate boardrooms, and he has recently designed a successful online course on Critical Thinking for the Economist education. In his most recent book, Wise Animals, Tom explores our relationship with technology, examining the lessons that our ancestral past may hold for our present challenges. In this thought-provoking conversation with Tom, we discussed his advice for how to think more critically in today's complex world. We talked about strategies to combat the influence of cognitive biases in our mind, as popularized by thinkers like the late Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, and the importance (and difficulty) of challenging our own assumptions. We also discussed the importance of creating trust in order to be able to have open conversations, and some techniques for deep discussions and good decision making in all contexts. In the final part, we turned our focus to Tom's latest book, which explores our relationship with technology, and I asked his view on two big impacts technology is currently having in society: the destabilizing effect of mass interactive media on traditional democratic structures, exacerbating polarization and eroding public trust in institutions; and the troubling rise of what many experts refer to as an “Epidemic of Mental Illness” among children and teenagers, driven by pervasive social media use. ______________ Obrigado aos mecenas do podcast: Francisco Hermenegildo, Ricardo Evangelista, Henrique Pais João Baltazar, Salvador Cunha, Abilio Silva, Tiago Leite, Carlos Martins, Galaró family, Corto Lemos, Miguel Marques, Nuno Costa, Nuno e Ana, João Ribeiro, Helder Miranda, Pedro Lima Ferreira, Cesar Carpinteiro, Luis Fernambuco, Fernando Nunes, Manuel Canelas, Tiago Gonçalves, Carlos Pires, João Domingues, Hélio Bragança da Silva, Sandra Ferreira , Paulo Encarnação , BFDC, António Mexia Santos, Luís Guido, Bruno Heleno Tomás Costa, João Saro, Daniel Correia, Rita Mateus, António Padilha, Tiago Queiroz, Carmen Camacho, João Nelas, Francisco Fonseca, Rafael Santos, Andreia Esteves, Ana Teresa Mota, ARUNE BHURALAL, Mário Lourenço, RB, Maria Pimentel, Luis, Geoffrey Marcelino, Alberto Alcalde, António Rocha Pinto, Ruben de Bragança, João Vieira dos Santos, David Teixeira Alves, Armindo Martins , Carlos Nobre, Bernardo Vidal Pimentel, António Oliveira, Paulo Barros, Nuno Brites, Lígia Violas, Tiago Sequeira, Zé da Radio, João Morais, André Gamito, Diogo Costa, Pedro Ribeiro, Bernardo Cortez Vasco Sá Pinto, David , Tiago Pires, Mafalda Pratas, Joana Margarida Alves Martins, Luis Marques, João Raimundo, Francisco Arantes, Mariana Barosa, Nuno Gonçalves, Pedro Rebelo, Miguel Palhas, Ricardo Duarte, Duarte , Tomás Félix, Vasco Lima, Francisco Vasconcelos, Telmo , José Oliveira Pratas, Jose Pedroso, João Diogo Silva, Joao Diogo, José Proença, João Crispim, João Pinho , Afonso Martins, Robertt Valente, João Barbosa, Renato Mendes, Maria Francisca Couto, Antonio Albuquerque, Ana Sousa Amorim, Francisco Santos, Lara Luís, Manuel Martins, Macaco Quitado, Paulo Ferreira, Diogo Rombo, Francisco Manuel Reis, Bruno Lamas, Daniel Almeida, Patrícia Esquível , Diogo Silva, Luis Gomes, Cesar Correia, Cristiano Tavares, Pedro Gaspar, Gil Batista Marinho, Maria Oliveira, João Pereira, Rui Vilao, João Ferreira, Wedge, José Losa, Hélder Moreira, André Abrantes, Henrique Vieira, João Farinha, Manuel Botelho da Silva, João Diamantino, Ana Rita Laureano, Pedro L, Nuno Malvar, Joel, Rui Antunes7, Tomás Saraiva, Cloé Leal de Magalhães, Joao Barbosa, paulo matos, Fábio Monteiro, Tiago Stock, Beatriz Bagulho, Pedro Bravo, Antonio Loureiro, Hugo Ramos, Inês Inocêncio, Telmo Gomes, Sérgio Nunes, Tiago Pedroso, Teresa Pimentel, Rita Noronha, miguel farracho, José Fangueiro, Zé, Margarida Correia-Neves, Bruno Pinto Vitorino, João Lopes, Joana Pereirinha, Gonçalo Baptista, Dario Rodrigues, tati lima, Pedro On The Road, Catarina Fonseca, JC Pacheco, Sofia Ferreira, Inês Ribeiro, Miguel Jacinto, Tiago Agostinho, Margarida Costa Almeida, Helena Pinheiro, Rui Martins, Fábio Videira Santos, Tomás Lucena, João Freitas, Ricardo Sousa, RJ, Francisco Seabra Guimarães, Carlos Branco, David Palhota, Carlos Castro, Alexandre Alves, Cláudia Gomes Batista, Ana Leal, Ricardo Trindade, Luís Machado, Andrzej Stuart-Thompson, Diego Goulart, Filipa Portela, Paulo Rafael, Paloma Nunes, Marta Mendonca, Teresa Painho, Duarte Cameirão, Rodrigo Silva, José Alberto Gomes, Joao Gama, Cristina Loureiro, Tiago Gama, Tiago Rodrigues, Miguel Duarte, Ana Cantanhede, Artur Castro Freire, Rui Passos Rocha, Pedro Costa Antunes, Sofia Almeida, Ricardo Andrade Guimarães, Daniel Pais, Miguel Bastos, Luís Santos _______________ Esta conversa foi editada por: Hugo Oliveira _______________ Bio: Tom Chatfield is a British author and tech philosopher, interested in improving our experiences and understanding of technology. Episode Summary: Are you experiencing the empty nest stage of life or finding yourself constantly in close quarters with your spouse? If the 24/7 togetherness feels overwhelming, then this episode is for you! Join us as we delve into the secrets of thriving in marriage with a spouse in the house. Our special guest is Cynthia Ruchti, coauthor of the insightful book "Spouse in the House: Rearranging Our Attitudes to Make Room for Each Other." As fellow hope enthusiasts, I knew she would be the perfect guest on the program. Stay tuned for an inspiring and transformative conversation as we talk about How To Thrive in Marriage with a Spouse in the House. Quotables from the episode: As much as people talk about preparing financially for retirement, and as heavily we emphasis pre-marital counseling, who was talking about preparing relationally for retirement or other life-events and seasons when a husband and wife experience more togetherness than normal. It is an adjustment to share the same space 24/7, work around each other's routines, communicate expectations, and divide the chores. Not since the Industrial Revolution transformed American life from what had been largely agricultural and family-run businesses has there been such a seismic shift back to two spouses at home. “Any home, large or small, can feel like too tight quarters unless we learn how to relate to, appreciate, and work around each other's personalities and preferences when a health need, job layoff, retirement, temporary circumstance, or new working arrangement results in both spouses in the house for long stretches of time. “A husband and wife can rub each other the wrong way, find there's not enough oxygen in the house for both of them, and trip over each other's physical and emotional ‘stuff.' But there's hope for every hurdle, and a joy possibility for every relationship jolt.” It helps to remember that our husband is our brother in Christ, so how the Bible says to treat our brothers and sisters in Christ is how we are to treat our spouse. No human can satisfy you like Jesus, and no human will not satisfy you. But Jesus is your rock. Decide to pre-forgive your spouse of anything they do to you in the future. The best way to handle the spouse in the house is to begin and end the day with them and Jesus. There's no coasting in marriage. If we stop paddling, we don't just stay still. We're carried off to dangerous places or end up where we never intended to go. Scripture References: Philippians 2:2 NIV—“Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” Philippians 2:3 NIV—“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians 2:4. NIV—“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…” Recommended Resources: Spouse in the House: Rearranging Our Attitudes to Make Room for Each Other by Cynthia Ruchti and Becky Melby Empty Nest, Full Life: Discovering God's Best for Your Next by Jill Savage Brighter Skies Ahead: Forecasting a Full Life When You Empty the Nest by Terri DeBoer Rebuilding Trust Course The Wait Is Not Wasted Course No More Perfect Marriages by Mark and Jill Savage Men are Like Waffles, Women are Like Spaghetti: Understanding and Delighting in Your Differences by Bill & Pam Farrel Red-Hot Monogamy: Making Your Marriage Sizzle by Bill and Pam Farrel Appreciation: The Key to Unlocking Romance Hope for Marriage Struggles Creative Ways to Show Love During Times of Crisis How Do I Love You? 8 Different Ways to Show Love Great Love Prompts Great Sacrifice: It's What Love Does Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places You Are Loved by God YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be a Good Day YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be Another Good Day Breaking Anxiety's Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety's Grip Free Study Guide Free 7-Day YouVersion Bible Reading Plan for Breaking Anxiety's Grip Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor's Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Trusting God Through Cancer 1 Trusting God Through Cancer 2 Revive & Thrive Women's Conference Subdue Stress and Anxiety: Fifteen Experts Offer Comprehensive Tools in Ten Minutes a Day. HOW TO THRIVE, 96min., Australia, Documentary Directed by Duy Huynh Is there a secret formula to happiness? Positive psychotherapist Marie McLeod takes 7 people on a transformative journey to learn the secret formula to happiness The film's premise is; if we offer the science of happiness to people experiencing struggle; what difference would it make? Is happiness a learnable skill and can we teach people skills to live a happy, healthy and meaningful life? With unprecedented access; the result is an intimate, heartfelt and hopeful film that offers a rare glimpse into the lives of 7 people who make incredible transforms as a result of learning ‘How to Thrive?' http://www.howtothrivefilm.com/ https://www.facebook.com/HowToThriveFilm/ https://www.instagram.com/howtothrivefilm/ Get to know producer Andrew Kelly & director Duy Huynh: Duy Huynh, Director: As a first generation Vietnamese refugee, I have my own connection to early life adversity. Some of my earliest memories of life was being lifted into a tiny fishing trawler with over a hundred others below deck; violence at sea, loss of life, inhumane refugee camps and of course watching the consequences of this experience on family and friends. Despite the impacts from these memories I found my way through and have always considered myself one of the lucky ones. For some of my contemporaries this experience created a lasting legacy of mental health challenges and I've always wished I could do more to help. What separates those of us who can undergo adversity and come through the other side ok, versus those for which adversity creates ongoing struggle. I thought if we could understand this better and package it up in a helpful way, then it would be a worthwhile mission. This film is about some of what I've learnt from the sciences of thriving. Turns out there's quite a lot of research available about how to live a happier, healthier and more meaningful life. These learnable skills are so essential in a world where loneliness and mental health challenges are steeply on the rise. My vision is for a world where these ‘thriving skills' are available to all of us, and film is an incredible medium to not only create this awareness but inspire action. Personal action, political action and systemic change to the way we think about mental health. Andrew Kelly, Producer: I'd been working in the corporate film production world for some time and decided it was time to take my skills and use them for social impact. Duy presented wellbeing science and positive psychology to me and I knew this was an under-represented area we could really make a difference in. A chance meeting with our now lead presenter and Positive Psychotherapist sealed the deal for me. I knew we could make this work. He realized that his life was a rollercoaster in which he was not sure what was coming next. It was unpredictable and stressful, full of adversity and hard work to achieve. How our spiritual nature and our tendency to thrive can be used for abundance. Stress doesn't have to part of success. Hard work from a place of joyful, synchronicity felt so much different from the forced work against adversity method he had done when he lost it all. This series initially went live in late 2021 - almost 12 months ago - while How to Thrive, the documentary, was still in production. It is now out in the world and showing in cinemas all over the country. "Flow requires us to use our strengths. Sadly many of us don't really know what those are. One of the first things that you must do is to identify these strengths. What are those things that your brain is wired to do, those things that you love doing?" This series is all about exploring how to thrive and practicing the BEACON model; a model that Marie has developed to guide us through the simple steps to thriving and flourishing in life. Today, we recap what we learned about Belonging and talk about how we did on our weekly quest. We then explore the second "beam" of the BEACON model: Engagement. We discuss: Deep focus or "flow" and how it improves our quality of life, satisfaction and happiness Does personality affect how easy it is to get into a state of flow How can we craft our lives in order to get into a "flow" more often Understanding your profile of individual strengths and how to use that to increase engagement Your quest for this week: Go with the way you're wired and spend more time doing the things you're good at. We're revisiting our How to Thrive series co-hosted with positive psychotherapist Marie McLeod for Mental Health Month. This series initially went live in late 2021 - almost 12 months ago - while How to Thrive, the documentary, was still in production. It is now out in the world and showing in cinemas all over the country. "Thriving is not a spectator sport. You can't sit back and watch it happen." This is the 4th episode of our new weekly podcast series "How To Thrive", a collaboration with positive psychology coach Marie McLeod. This series is all about exploring how to thrive and practicing the BEACON model; a model that Marie has developed to guide us through the simple steps to thriving and flourishing in life. In this week's episode we explore the third "beam" of the BEACON model: Accountability. This might seem an unusual element of thriving but there is no thriving without doing - and sometimes we need to hold ourselves accountable to get the doing, done. Listen in as Marie and Ellen discuss: What accountability means when it comes to thriving and why it's important Real life, practical examples of where people struggle with accountability (because it's something we all struggle with from time to time) How our personal beliefs impact our goals and motivation. How to find your "why" to build motivation. Tips and techniques for holding yourself accountable to your action steps for thriving. Your quest for this week: Get curious and challenge yourself to try a new activity for a week that you know will help you to thrive - even if it's difficult to get started. The COVID-19 pandemic launched a great experiment in the way we work, at least for office workers. Remote work became routine early in the pandemic. Two and a half years later many people are still working part-time from home. And, with low unemployment and workers who demand flexibility, it looks increasingly likely that some combination of remote and on-site work is here to stay. MPR News guest host Chris Farrell talks about what this dramatic change in how we work and interact with colleagues in the office means for workplace culture, employee collaboration and even office design. Guests: Alexandra Samuel works from her home in Vancouver, Canada as a tech writer and journalist whose work appears in the Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review. She is co-author of “Remote, Inc.: How To Thrive at Work….Wherever You Are” published in 2021. Gustavo Razzetti is founder and CEO of Fearless Culture, a business management consulting company based in Chicago. He's also the author of “Remote Not Distant: Design a Company Culture to Thrive in a Hybrid Workplace” published in June. Mari Ansera leads interior design projects at the architectural firm HGA, based in their Minneapolis office.

Two ways are open before you in life. One points to degradation and want, the other, to usefulness and wealth. In the old Grecian races one only, by any possible means, could gain the prize, but in the momentous race of human life there is no limiting of the prize to one. No one is debarred from competing; all may succeed, provided the right methods are followed. Life is not a lottery. Its prizes are not distributed by chance. There can hardly be a greater folly, not to say presumption, than that of so many young men and women who, on setting out in life, conclude that it is no use to mark out for themselves a course, and then set themselves with strenuous effort to attain some worthy end; who conclude, therefore, to commit themselves blindly to the current of circumstances. Is it anything surprising that those who aim at nothing, accomplish nothing in life?No better result could reasonably be expected. Twenty clerks in a store; twenty apprentices in a ship-yard; twenty young men in a city or village — all want to get on in the world; most of them expect to succeed. One of the clerks will become a partner, and make a fortune; one of the young men will find his calling and succeed. But what of the other nineteen? They will fail; and miserably fail, some of them. They expect to succeed, but they aim at nothing; content to live for the day only, consequently, little effort is put forth, and they reap a reward accordingly. "Flow requires us to use our strengths. Sadly many of us don't really know what those are. One of the first things that you must do is to identify these strengths. What are those things that your brain is wired to do, those things that you love doing?"This is the 3rd episode of our new weekly podcast series "How To Thrive", a collaboration with positive psychology coach Marie McLeod. This series is all about exploring how to thrive and practicing the BEACON model; a model that Marie has developed to guide us through the simple steps to thriving and flourishing in life.Today, we recap what we learned about Belonging and talk about how we did on our weekly quest. We then explore the second "beam" of the BEACON model: Engagement. We discuss:Deep focus or "flow" and how it improves our quality of life, satisfaction and happinessDoes personality affect how easy it is to get into a state of flowHow can we craft our lives in order to get into a "flow" more oftenUnderstanding your profile of individual strengths and how to use that to increase engagementYour quest for this week: Go with the way you're wired and spend more time doing the things you're good at. This episode I speak with Dr Tom Chatfield, a best-selling author and philosopher of technology, whose new book, How to Think, explores the habits and practices that are fundamental to clear thinking and effective study. From the ethics of AI, and tech in deep time, to the philosophy of fake news and what it means to think well, Tom's work explores how we might improve our experiences and understanding of ourselves, of one another and of technology. His non-fiction books exploring digital culture, including How To Thrive in the Digital Age (Pan Macmillan) and Live This Book! (Penguin), have appeared in over thirty languages, and his critical thinking textbooks and online courses, developed in partnership with SAGE Publishing, are used in schools and universities across the world. I've had the pleasure of sharing several stages over the years with Tom, and with each event, I've come away feeling inspired and awed at his ability both to understand and to vividly convey the complex and nuanced ways in which we might more richly engage with the world.

In this episode I talk about the purpose and importance of your emotional triggers at this time. In this episode I share a personal story of being triggered and how it literally changed me from within. I also share some recommendations to help you understand and allow your emotional triggers to benefit you.

In this episode I share my personal experience of feeling like a fraud on my spiritual journey. There are definitely times when I feel like I am not being completely myself or I am missing the sides of me that I have not had the opportunity to express lately. During a session on the reiki table I was able to get more insight as to what I was feeling. In this episode, I share my personal insights and a few messages for those (like me) that need to hear it.
In this episode I talk about how there is no one way to do something or accomplish, experience, or achieve something. While we may think that there is only one way or that someone else knows THE answer, you know deep down there is always another way or a better way for you. In a world filled with access to advice, tutorials, and teachings, it is important to not get caught up on what others are doing or what you think you should be doing. The most powerful factor that determines your personal success or happiness is your Divine connection. Its the part of you that knows what advice to take and what advice not to take. Its the part of you that will always show you your unique way if you tune in and ask for guidance. In this episode I share some suggestions to help you tune into your own inner guidance so you can realize your way, your solution, and your personal path you came here to experience.
In this episode I talk about how to find your safety when the world around you feels in chaos. When things seem to keep going wrong or when things seem to not be going your way, it becomes easy to get stuck in your own fears. When you can't seem to find hope in the outer world, it makes it even more difficult to believe things are actually working in your favor. You are being asked at this time to find your security from your Source not the outside world and to know you are truly safe. Things are indeed working in your favor but you just need to feel this truth deep within yourself. In this episode, I offer a couple of reminders to help you move out of your feelings of chaos and into safety in order to help you move forward with a sense of clarity.
In the first episode of season 2 I discuss where we've been, where we are, and where we have the potential to go this year. Whether you realize it or not, you have already moved into a higher level of consciousness from where you were a year ago. You can see things and feels things at a deeper level of knowing and intuition. As you look to the year ahead, you know deep down that this year will be a good year despite what may be happening around you. You may not recognize this knowing yet because of all of your external distractions. In this episode, I share some reminders and strategies to help you align yourself with your inner knowing, so you can realize the blessings, gifts, and miracles that are yours this year. It's going to be a good year.

So I had to figure things out on my own, I've always been a curious monkey and learn on my own. I always had interest in art, music, playing. In Asia it was considered working class being an entertainer. I had to find my journey and ways since my family was not happy with things that I was passionate about. When I got to Hawaii I started my modeling and music career. I got invited to sing to the cherry blossom festival. I came to LA for acting. I thought LA was glamorous. I did a modeling gig in House of Blues. I had nights sleeping in my car when I was in LA. I think God has the best interest in me, so whatever I'm going through I want to leave up to god but still live the best I can in life. In this episode I talk about how its natural to feel frustrated when things are going the way you want or planned. Feeling frustration is a pushing against what is and where you are at right now. We are moving through an extraordinary period of change and not having clarity on where the world is going creates frustration in our bodies. In order to move through these times of uncertainty and upheaval with more ease, it important to remember to surrender to where you are at. Know that everything has it's cycles. By consciously releasing your frustration and by focusing only on what you can control, you will start to enjoy your own journey more. In this episode I share a few suggestions on how to release your frustration when you are stuck in it. By doing so, you automatically change your own energy and begin to attract the outcomes and experiences you deeply desire.
In this episode I talk about how we are all going through a spiritual training right now. Everything we are doing or being led to do has a meaning. Whether you spent the last few months taking up home projects like me, doing new things, taking care of others, learning new skills, or just found more time to rest and just be - it's all for a reason. I talk about how seemingly small unrelated things are actually preparing us for bigger things in our life. It's like the movie The Karate Kid when the main character Daniel does not understand how doing chores has anything to do with learning Karate. It's eventually revealed to him that everything he was doing prepared him to reach his ultimate goal. Similarly, everything you have done in the last six months is preparing you to be ready for changes to come. In this episode, I share three suggestions/reminders to help you shift into the Fall Season feeling ready and prepared to realize the positive change and spiritual growth you desire deep inside of you.

In this episode I talk about how the anticipation of things either good or bad greatly impacts our emotions and our reality. Our minds make things out to be worse than what they actually are. By noticing your own mental patterns, you can consciously change them to bring yourself back to a neutral state of mind. When you are balanced mentally and emotionally you automatically create a much better reality and experience for yourself. In times like these, it is easy to feel fear and worry about a future negative outcome. I find the easiest way to manage through the unknown is to live moment by moment. In this episode I share three suggestions to help you manage your fear and move yourself back into alignment of what it is you truly desire.
In this episode I talk about about how you can quickly change your experience by changing your perspective. Everything can be seen from another perspective. There is not one truth. Typically we perceive things only one way and believe it to be our truth. However, by seeing things a new way, you can create a new and better reality for yourself with little physical effort. This is easier said than done; therefore, it takes conscious effort to change our conditioned thought patterns and beliefs. Our challenges are meant to wake us up and remind us that something within ourselves need to change. We need challenges to help us evolve. Part of our spiritual awakening is being able to see things from multiple perspectives so we can grow, expand, and experience more. In this episode I share three ways in which you can shift your perspective so you can shift your experiences for the better.

In this episode I talk about one of my favorite movies from 1993, Groundhog Day, and how the wisdom in this comedic movie is very relevant to what we are experiencing today. When I saw this movie many years ago, I only viewed it as funny and entertainment. However, I see so much more in it now. As everyday feels the same and we grow tired of this new cycle of reality, this movie is a reminder of what really needs to change before the world can change. As the chaos continues outside of us, we are being asked to go within and change ourselves. Now is a time to listen to how you are being guided and follow your intuition. Change is inevitable. By embracing and accepting the fact that we must change, you can break free from feeling stuck and move forward in a much better way. In this episode I share a few takeaways from the movie that I believe are very helpful in navigating the challenges we are personally feeling at this time, so everyday will stop feeling like Groundhog Day.
In this episode I talk about how things are intensifying again in the world around us. With this intensity comes increased fear. As the energy around us intensifies, know that within this energy is also the energy of love, light, and miracles. Within the bad, there is always good. At this time it is important to recognize the good that is being born from the chaos. By focusing on positive change you will fuel more positive change. In this episode I offer some suggestions to help you see the miracles all around you, and how you can tune in and consciously create positive outcomes in your life at this time.
In this episode I talk about how our bodies are going through changes that our minds may not yet understand as we prepare for a new and better time in our lives. Unexpected challenges or negative emotions that are coming up now, is your body's way of purging old stuck beliefs and emotions that no longer serve you. You are being asked to address issues you might have avoided or face your fears, but its likely much easier than you think. You are changing from within and its all leading you to a better place. In this episode I share two things that I was reminded of last week that I hope are helpful as your manage through the tensions and challenges of right now.

In this episode I talk about how its your own intuition that will guide you through this time. As the world around you continues to be uncertain, you are being guided to go inward to seek answers to your questions. As the economy starts to open up, decisions that were once so simple have bigger consequences. Knowing what to do will come from inside of you. This is the time to follow what is calling forth within you. The world is changing and you are been given the opportunity to open up and listen to where you are being guided. In this episode I share a few suggestions on how to start to hear your intuition and how to practice getting in touch more frequently with your higher self.
In this episode I talk about our current opportunity to take advantage of this time of "opening up". As business start to open up in a new way, we will begin to experience simple things for the first time again. In the midst of chaos of upheaval, there is a renewed sense of appreciation for the small things that matter to us. This is a time to open up to receive good things in your life. It's a time to remember to be grateful in the midst of our challenges. In this episode, I offer a perspective that I hope will inspire you to let ease and joy back into your life as you navigate change.
In this episode I talk about the fact we all have walls we have put up from a very young age in order to protect our sense of self. These walls are energetic barriers that have been built up out of fear. As part of this period of change and transformation we are being asked to courageously break down our walls. These are the walls that unknowingly divide us. By shedding a layer of fear, we move closer to love and unity. This is the process of healing we are all facing right now. In this episode, I share how you can start to identify your walls and start shedding them one layer at a time.
In this episode I talk about how to manage your mind through the current upheaval we are collectively experiencing. The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius said, "You have the power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." By becoming the observer of your mind, you become the master of your domain. By observing the world from a neutral perspective, you can consciously decide how best to navigate change and serve others in a way that is authentically you. Our thoughts create our reality; therefore, do not let outside events control your thoughts. You can create positive change by changing what is inside of you. In this episode, I share suggestions on how best to observe your own thoughts that run automatically, so you can consciously choose to direct your mental energy towards only what serves you and those around you.
In this episode I was inspired by Wayne Dyer to share the principal of being open to anything and attached to nothing. In a time of continued change, upheaval, and uncertainty, realize that anything is possible. While things on the surface may seem scary and foretell challenging times ahead, this is not necessarily true. By detaching from the chaos and becoming a neutral observer, it becomes easier to navigate this period of transformation. In this episode I offer a few suggestions on how to shift your mindset towards an optimistic set of beliefs and stay flexible in how they come to fruition.
In this episode I talk about the power of visualization. If you can visualize in your mind's eye your positive outcome, you can create it in your reality. How often do you take the time in your daily life to consciously envision what you desire to experience? Now is the time to proactively manage where your thoughts go. When the world gives you many distractions, stay focused on the beauty that exists all around you. Use your spiritual tools to connect with your higher self and create the positive outcomes you desire. The energy all around you is powerful and constantly moving and changing. Tap into your power to clearly direct you energy in a direction that serves you best. In this episode I share a powerful technique on how to visualize and create a better outcome for yourself and those around you.
In this episode I talk about what it means to be a multidimensional being and why its important to step into your expanded self right now. Being multidimensional means you are not just one thing. You are many things at the same time. This includes being both physical and spiritual. It is the spiritual part of you that reaches beyond the physical and can access higher levels of reality and wisdom that can help and guide you in your physical reality. By stepping into the totality of who you are it becomes easier to navigate through the current changes and challenges. By embodying the qualities of your higher self you become a bigger version of yourself. In this episode I share a few suggestions on how you can start to feel and experience your true multidimensional nature.
As summer kicks off with Memorial Day weekend, I discuss how we need to be aware of how our emotions will get triggered as the season changes. There is no doubt that this summer is not what we planned it to be. The fact is summer will be different this year because life currently is very different. As we move through the change in season its important to stay in the flow of nature. Nature reminds us as the seasons change we too must change. Summer is a season full of light and vitality, so expect "different" to mean something good to you. In this episode, I share some reminders on how you can enter into this new season with a sense of excitement and wonder.
In this episode I talk about how so much of our happiness is connected to our future plans. When we know something good is going to happen in the future because we planned it, whether its an outing, trip, social gathering, etc., we automatically feel happy thinking about it in anticipation. We have gotten so used to planning future events to make us feel happy right now. At this time, its difficult to plan the future when the future seems so uncertain. If we can't plan for the future, how do we find happiness? In this episode I share that what we are experiencing currently is forcing us to find happiness right now and not in some future event. What you think, feel, and believe now creates your future experiences. I also share four suggestions on how to find happiness now so you can create the future you desire to experience.

In this episode I talk about energy, both positive and negative, and the real impact this energy is having on our lives currently. There is an unseen battle going on and its happening at an energetic level. While we can not see it with our eyes we can feel it within us. It is a battle between positive energy and negative energy, light and dark, love and fear. It is during this time we all must become warriors of light, and be aware of what energy we are receiving and what we are giving. In this episode I offer a few suggestions on how you can do this practically in your daily life.
In this episode I talk about the cycles of life and death, birth and rebirth. We are currently in a new cycle of life, and we have entered a time of rebirth. Spring is a reminder that we are in a season of new beginnings. While it may seem dark and scary right now, underneath it all something beautiful wants to be born. Underneath the fear and the loss are seeds of light, love, and opportunity. See this time as a period of new opportunities and new beginnings. The birthing process is a gradual process. Allow yourself to go through this time knowing something new and better is being born. In this episode I share a few suggestions to help you see and feel the opportunities all around you.
In this episode I talk about the importance of what you are letting into your mind at this time. There is a powerful shift in energy within and outside of you that is fueling all the change we are experiencing. The strength of this energy will bring about change more quickly than what you have experienced in the past. You can benefit from this by consciously choosing where you spend your energy and what you let into your mind. Thoughts and ideas are like seeds, once they are planted they have the potential to manifest into your reality. In this episode I share a few things to help keep your mind aligned with what it is you want to experience and create for yourself in this new world.
In this episode I talk about how we are in a period of transition from the Old Earth to a New Earth. The Earth is conscious and is moving to a higher consciousness and vibration. As this happens old ways of being on this planet begin to break down and fall away so new and better things can be build that are more aligned with the higher vibration. Right now, we are feeling the tension between the old world and new world. This tension feels hard and uncomfortable, but it is all part of the process of change. In this episode I share a few reminders to help you manage through this period of time, and release some of the inner tension you might be feeling in order to move towards the New Earth more easily.
In this episode I talk about how during this time we are being faced with ourselves. With most of your distractions being taken away from you, you are given the time to reflect on who you are, what's important to you, and why you are here. I believe 2020 is all about clearing out the old junk within us that no longer serves us, so we can make room for what we truly desire, for something new and better for us. Facing yourself, and the demons that haunt you does not need to be a scary or difficult process. In this episode I share some simple ways to help you heal your demons, so you can start to receive new and positive gifts available to you now.
In this episode I talk about the importance of being in a calm state when there is chaos all around you. Everything that is happening right now is happening for a reason. Your life is not random. When you are in states of fear and panic, you can not clearly see the reason or the truth. From a place of calm you can more easily discern the truth, make clear decisions, and trust you will emerge from this in a better place. You are already seeing how nothing makes sense to you. This is the time to find your balance, seek your truth, and be the light. In this episode I offer 4 suggestions to help you find your calm.
In this episode I talk about how to release your resistance to your current situation in order to more easily create positive outcomes for yourself during this period of change. Resisting what IS, is holding onto negative energy within you. Resistance is an energetic barrier to your positive desires, and what you resist will persist. Release the negative energy within you, so you can open yourself up to the powerful creative force that is also within you. When this creative force is directed into the world through your positive intentions, feelings, and beliefs, positive changes will manifest more easily.
In this episode I talk about how we are currently going through a process of spiritual awakening when old ways of being and structures are being broken down, so something new and better can be created. This is all happening within ourselves. Our consciousness is expanding and as a result we find ourselves asking more questions about who we are, our place in the world, and is the world actually what it seems to be. While these times may feel turbulent, you are moving in the right direction. Towards the end of this talk I offer 3 suggestions on how to manage through these challenging times and how to open up to your own awakening.
In this episode I talk about how the polarization of our world is a part of our spiritual awakening. Balancing the polarities is the key to the ascension of your consciousness. At this time, we are going through a lot of change - mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. More and more people are waking up to the truth of their reality. In order to move through our current state of upheaval and chaos, we need to bring balance back to ourselves. I discuss 4 ways in which you can balance the polarities within yourself. When you change, the world around you will change.
In this episode I talk about the importance of riding the wave of change at this time, what this means, and how to do it gracefully. We struggle and suffer more when we resist things we cannot control. What we resist, persists. In order to move through this period of time with more ease, you are being asked to surrender, detach, have faith that you are co-creating your best reality. Faith and trust have always been key components in the process of attracting and manifesting things and experiences you truly desire into your life. There are times you just need to let go mentally and emotionally and trust that the Universe is taking care of it for you. When you do, you will see that you will be carried, supported, and guided to where you really want to go.
In this episode I talk about the importance of staying in the present moment in order to move through this time of change with more ease. I feel that we are all being given the gift of slowing down and are being asked to live life in the present moment. When we cannot see into the future or do what we have done in the past, you can either fight against it or you can surrender to it. I also share some background on my personal spiritual growth journey. I believe that the tools and knowledge we were all given over the years has prepared us for this time. This is a reminder that we all need to stay present, practice what we know to be true, and let the light come through us for the good of ourselves and those around us.
In this episode I discuss 3 ways to transform the energy of fear and worry into a powerful creative force that actually benefits you and those around you. The amount of energy being harnessed right now is powerful. As you know, energy can neither be created or destroyed, but it can be transformed. You have a choice right now to either contribute to the energy of fear by feeding it with your thoughts and emotions, or you can transform this energy into something productive through the power of your intentions. We are all being ushered into a new reality. It's time to ask yourself: What do you intend to experience in this new reality?

You'd have to be living alone is a cave not to have heard about all the 2012 energy, and none of us live in a cave. I will fully admit I sat around on 12-21-12 and waited to feel the shift. To be honest, I didn't feel it. However, now that the dust is settling on all the hype of the New Year, what is clear to me is it was more like a "shifting", as in it's something that is happening, rather than something that happened. I believe in a lot of ways it's not just that the rules changed. I believe in 2013 we are playing a completely different game. This series is dedicated to making sure we know the rules in the new game so we can play AND win.
