Building and scaling a business isn't just about hard work, it's also about smart strategy and self-awareness. In this episode of Hustle and Flowchart, I chatted with the amazing Allison Maslan. She's a successful entrepreneur who has built multiple companies and now helps others do the same through her organization, Pinnacle Global Network. We went through a wide range of topics, from trapeze in the backyard to scaling strategies for businesses. This episode is packed with invaluable insights. Let's break it down. The Power of a PassionAllison shared an interesting tidbit that sets the stage for this episode: she has a massive trapeze in her backyard. Inspired by her background as a gymnast and a flying trapeze enthusiast, Allison uses trapeze as both a hobby and a metaphor for facing fears and achieving breakthroughs. Just like flying through the air, entrepreneurs need to take risks and focus on their goals.Battling Business BurnoutAllison revealed that, even though she took on massive clients like Ben and Jerry's and Supercuts at a young age, she ended up buried under an overwhelming workload. She warns that this is a common issue for many entrepreneurs who fail to delegate tasks. Instead of managing her team effectively, she felt the need to control every aspect, resulting in burnout. The Wake-Up Call: A Life-Changing MomentAllison faced a wake-up call in the form of a serious car accident, which made her reassess her life and business practices. She realized that continuing down the same path could lead to the same problems years later and decided it was time for a change.Scaling Strategies: Breaking Through Growth BarriersOne major focus of our conversation was scaling. Allison emphasized that many entrepreneurs remain stuck because they don't know how to scale effectively. She advises examining your company holistically to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.Practical Advice:Divide your company into four key areas: operations, marketing, sales, and your specific revenue stream.Conduct a thorough analysis of where you are spending most of your time and delegate accordingly.Establish clear metrics and targets for every role within the organization to ensure everyone is aligned with the company's vision.A Holistic Approach to BusinessAllison's background in homeopathy has influenced her holistic approach to business. She believes in treating the whole business system rather than just focusing on individual symptoms. This means aligning vision, cash flow, team effort, and execution for overall health and growth.Key Framework:Strategic VisionCash Flow (Marketing and Sales)Team AlignmentLeadershipExecutionThe Future: Leveraging AI and Market TrendsAllison and I also discussed the future, particularly the role of AI and other technological advancements. AI will replace some jobs but also create new opportunities. She advises leveraging AI to improve business processes and innovate, rather than viewing it as a threat.Insightful Quote: “AI is going to replace a lot of companies. You need to figure out how you're going to differentiate yourself and how to utilize AI to fuel you and not disrupt you.”Connect with Allison MaslanPinnacle Global NetworkCheck out the "Scale It Method"Grab a copy of Allison's book

Don't miss out on Allison's wisdom to help you build a business that's both successful and sustainable. The 5 Phases of Scaling a Coaching BusinessAllison explains the five phases of scaling, which serve as a guide for coaches looking to grow their businesses. These phases are essential for understanding where you are in your business journey and what steps are needed to reach the next level. The ultimate goal is to achieve Phase 5, where the business can thrive independently. The Seeker: In this phase, coaches are just starting out, figuring out who their ideal clients are, and defining their core offerings. There is minimal scaling happening at this stage as the business relies heavily on the owner. The Pioneer: Coaches begin to gain traction with clients and generate a stable income. They may have a small team and start delegating some tasks. However, many business owners struggle to let go of control, which can hinder growth. The Ringleader: As the team expands, the business owner finds themselves juggling multiple responsibilities. Delegation becomes more challenging, and the business can feel chaotic. Clear roles and expectations are necessary to move beyond this phase. The Cocreator: At this stage, the team is aligned with the company's vision and values, taking ownership of their roles. The business is growing rapidly, and the owner can start to step back from day-to-day operations. The Visionary: The company runs smoothly without the owner's constant involvement. The business is a fully scalable asset that can continue to grow, be sold, or passed on. The owner focuses on high-level strategy and leadership.Key TakeawaysUnderstand the Five Phases of Scaling: Knowing which phase you're in helps you identify the steps needed to move forward.Delegate and Let Go of Control: Scaling requires empowering your team to take ownership and make decisions.Hire Early to Accelerate Growth: Bringing on the right people can free you up to focus on high-value activities.Maintain a Strong Vision and Company Culture: Lead with your values to ensure alignment as the business grows.Focus on Your Core Offering Before Expanding: Create a scalable business model by developing systems that allow for replication. To find out more about Allison Maslan, visit https://pinnacleglobalnetwork.com/Or find her on Instagram at

Welcome back to Making Bank. On today's episode, we have a compilation of previous episodes with Eric Holsapple, Allison Maslan, Fred Joyal, Kute Blackson, Robert Overweg, Tony Bradshaw, Shaahin Cheyene and in this episode you will hear tips and tricks from top entrepreneurs about how to have a successful mindset. (2:52) Eric Holsapple If you want the company to be mindful, it can't be without the CEO. A CEO needs to be there to be mindful and endorse the company. But the downside of this is that it pulls down too much. CEOs tend generally to do too much. So they need to offload a bunch of things so that they can be present and more aware for their company. (7:44) Allison Maslan When you really come to the understanding of how to build a team or manage a company, what happens is that you start to free yourself from the day to day hurdles. You'll also start to see that ideas and massive breakthroughs for your company will happen when you are away from it. So make sure to take breaks and not let it be the center of your life everyday. (11:38) Fred Joyal If you're trying to never fail, that will be your greatest failure. So when you act boldly without confidence, it builds your confidence. You don't have to be confident. You just have to be bold and just commit to acting and the confidence will come from the successful boldness or even from trying and failing. (15:26) Kute Blackson Part of surrender is the willingness to allow life to lead you, to allow life to guide you. The mind is always trying to know what everything means. We're always trying to figure out the future. We're trying to figure out what's going to happen. But rather than trying to just project yourself into the future allow yourselves to be guided. Allow life to lead. Allow life to guide you. (19:49) Robert Overweg Unravel your thinking patterns, your fixed mindset. Create space in your mind and then in your organizations. Connect to your intrinsic motivation and find what energizes you to create that proper foundation. Keep trying to find new perspectives that can help you move forward. (27:25) Tony Bradshaw You need to get attached to people that are going in the direction you need to go. If you want to be a multimillionaire, you need to find multimillionaires to hang out with. You need to find mentors. You need to get around people that are already there. The thing is when you get caught in their jetstream you will find that this is much easier than being independent trying to figure it out on your own. (32:32) Shaahin Cheyene Whether you think you can or you can't, you are right. At the end of the day, it really comes down to your mindset and your unwavering belief in yourself, especially when other people don't believe in you. You need to believe in yourself if you ever hope to succeed. You are your biggest friend and supporter. If you say you are going to succeed, then you will. Scaling Lessons from the Jeff Bezos Letters with Steve Anderson In a rapidly changing market, the need to experiment and test new ideas is more important than ever. Businesses that stick to the formula they've always done will fall behind, while those that take risks have a much higher chance of scaling beyond 8-figures. Strategic risk expert and author Steve Anderson joins this new week's episode to share his powerful insights into the mind behind one of the world's biggest companies. He talks about how to leverage risk, prioritize customers, the value of choosing product experimentation, not innovation, and more. Tune in to this insightful new episode ▶️ Scaling Lessons from the Jeff Bezos Letters with Steve Anderson. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️There's much to learn from disruptive companies that have come and gone. There is more we should duplicate from those that sustain the lead, like Amazon. Steve Anderson shares how his interest was piqued by reading every shareholder letter from 1997 to 2017 by Amazon champion Jeff Bezos. He created a book from that wealth of valuable information that became a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and international bestseller. ✔️ Adapt Bezos' Day 1 Mindset. The idea of day one is a thread that goes through every letter he writes. "It's not a day, but this mindset of going into your business every day and thinking, this is the first day we're in business. The excitement, the challenge, the how do we serve our customers best? And that mindset really is infused throughout Amazon still to this day." ✔️ "To be the Earth's most customer-centric company." Amazon created multiple billion-dollar businesses by being willing to think about the customer first. Steve shares how Bezos uses the phrase frequently and invents new solutions on the customer's behalf. The Kindle, for example, completely changed the publishing business. "Did they innovate on the book, or did they invent a whole new way of consuming books? When Jeff talks about the Kindle, he says they had the audacious goal of replacing the book that's been around for 500 years and being able to start reading a book in 60 seconds or less; that was the goal." ✔️Encouraging successful failure. Bezos always emphasized the need to build a company culture that allows experimentation to take place without punishment. "Employees know that they can try out new ideas, test them, even the crazy ones that actually could work. Bezos says that you will fail when you do an experiment when you're testing something by its very nature. An experiment means you don't know the outcome. And if you know the outcome, it's not an experiment." Steve Anderson, MA, is a trusted authority on Risk, Technology, Productivity, and Innovation and has over thirty-five years of experience in the insurance industry. He holds a master's degree in Insurance Law. Anderson is a professional speaker, writer, and "futurist." His speaking portfolio includes presentations on the future of technology, the influence of social platforms, how businesses can leverage the internet, and how they can assess and use risk to their advantage. He was chosen as one of the original 150 LinkedIn Influencers and has over 340,000 followers. In this episode of the Making Bank podcast, we welcome guest Allison Maslan. Allison is the WSJ Best Selling Author of SCALE OR FAIL endorsed by Daymond John and Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank. She has built and scaled 10 companies since the age of 19 and has featured in Success, Inc., Fortune, Fast Company and Forbes Magazines. She is also the host and producer of The Scale or Fail Show podcast, and the Women Who Own it Podcast in partnership with WBENC, the largest certifier of women owned businesses in North America. Allison is the CEO and founder of Pinnacle Global Network and has helped established business owners scale their companies and reach their dreams. Her team of established mentors are all CEOs who have built and scaled their own highly successful companies. This week on the podcast, Allison gives you some amazing insights, tips, and nuggets to help you transform your business where you're at, and then improve your overall revenue. As well as improve your systems processes and give you your time and freedom back, so that you can stop feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. Listen to Josh and Allison discuss scaling: (3:01) Allison On Becoming An Entrepreneur Allison grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and says that she was blessed with the spirit of entrepreneurship. Her first break as an entrepreneur would come in college when she wrote personalized poems for birthdays and anniversaries. Her dad encouraged her to do more, so she worked at a TV station. After learning all she could from her job, at the age of 25, Allison was running a full service advertising NPR firm. (5:59) Initial Success & Challenges Initially Allison had to learn how to ask for help and that's something most entrepreneurs struggle with. People think it's a sign of weakness, but asking for help is one of the best ways you can progress forward. Allison also struggled with always wanting to be in control of her business. Even though her business was extremely successful, she had no time for anything else and that made her feel miserable in her own success. She became so afraid of failing but she had so many people depending on her that she felt she couldn't let them down. (10:24) How To Stop Being Stressed And Overwhelmed As the CEO, it's our job to make sure that the business is running whether you're present or not. That's why we have to learn how to hire people and have the right systems and processes put in place so that we can step back and allow our employees to take over, make decisions of their own and successfully keep the business running. In order to stop being stressed all the time, it's important to shift from being a boss to being a leader. Delegate, instruct and empower your team to handle the business and transform it into a collaborative company where you're able to step back and the team steps up. (17:07) What Is Real Scaling The word scaling isn't used to just describe your ability to grow the company fast. Scaling really is a creative strategy. You have to figure out what is the best scalable model for you. Figure out the best strategy that is going to create the growth you need, but also make sure that the systems and processes you have in place enable you to meet that demand. Scaling is about having a strong foundation. A lot of businesses can grow quickly but end up toppling over due to the lack of foundation. (20:48) Staying Sane And Being Happy Nobody enjoys being stressed and burnt out. If you're constantly feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, you're doing something wrong. The best way to escape from stress and burn out is to build a team managed company that's able to run by itself so that you can remove yourself from the day to day business activities. If you can give yourself more free time, it'll enable you to feel more energized and allow you to focus even more on the aspects of your business that really matter.
