114 | Sanja Hatter Shares How Follow Up and Being Professionally Annoying Brings in Revenue Do you ever worry that you’re being annoying when it comes to following up? Sanja Hatter is the co-founder of Thrive: Make Money Matter. This year at Thrive they plan to have over 2k attendees. In the past they have had speakers such as…. Eric Thomas, Gary Vee, Robert Herjavec, Les Brown, Ed Mylett, Grant Cardone, Lori Harder and many others. ( AttendThrive.Com )  At Thrive their attendees discover how to build and sustain a “for purpose” business model, going beyond just making money, but making money matter to create a tremendously positive impact. This is the intersection of success, wealth and legacy. Sanja is an immigrant from Serbia that never expected to have a life that she has today. In her first season of “adulthood” she earned a degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. She worked at Laguna Beach Police Department in Special Investigations/homicide and on the weekend was a bartender. Today Sanja is a wife, daughter, sister, mamapreneur CEO boss lady, philanthropist, chef, maid, bikini fitness champion, speaker, and a mama to two amazing little terrorists. Follow up can make or break your business, and it’s one of the most profitable activities you can do. Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs are afraid of follow up, because they don’t want to be annoying. Follow up can be fun and creative! When you take the time to follow up with your leads, investors, and clients in fun, creative ways, you get their attention, and they want to be part of what you’re doing. However, persistence is key!  I credit my persistence with the success of this podcast. When you look at everyone that I’ve had the opportunity to interview and share their story, it’s amazing!  Because of follow up, I’ve had seven and eight figure earners on the show. This week’s guest on Success Unfiltered, Sanja Hatter, puts the “pro” in being professionally annoying! She’s mastered the art of following up with people who speak at her annual Thrive Conference. Are you ready to conquer your fears of being annoying and see how follow up can change your business and increase your income? If so, this episode of Success Unfiltered is a MUST LISTEN! Be sure to join us next week for our next new episode! What Is The Number ONE Way People Miss Out On Sales? They ask for the sale once...and never ask again! Learn why FOLLOW UP is the key to making more sales and skyrocketing your income, and let me show you 7 ways to make the perfect follow-up game plan! Here are a few key secrets we talked about in this episode: Michelle introduces Sanja Hatter. Sanja shares about the Thrive Conference, and how it’s meant to inspire entrepreneurs to make their money matter; to focus their business with a purpose. In the beginning, it was hard for Sanja to get speakers for the Thrive Conference! She would have to constantly be on social media, trying to connect with potential speakers to bring them in. When Sanja used her connections to contact a potential speaker, she was no longer just a name in their inbox - she was a valued connection, and that got her in the door many times! Several times, in the process, Sanja would negotiate the speakers fee, and work through the entire process, just to be told NO at the end; that they would end up speaking somewhere else that paid more. Persistence is key! Sometimes, pitching and connecting with people is all about finding a different way to connect, rather than the traditional pitch! “Rejection is fuel: just keep going.” ~ Sanja Hatter Keep your pitches short! Instead of a long pitch with pages of information, just start with a few sentences. Find an influencer’s “gatekeeper” and connect with them, so they can connect you to that person. You may even already have a connection! Bonus tip: check their LinkedIn profile.  Do your research: be creative and thoughtful with gifts that you give and connections you make. Who was Sanja’s dream speaker at Thrive? Dwayne Johnson - she’s working on finding ways to be able to connect with him! Persistence was how she got Eric Thomas to speak at Thrive - it took three years of trying, and now he’s part of the past speakers at Thrive! You have to get knocked down, and keep getting back up! You’ll get kicked down a lot in business. Don’t take the NO personally! Sometimes, you have to say NO when someone doesn’t fit the vibe you’re looking for!  Always trust your intuition. Never devalue someone because they aren’t at the same “level” of success as you! Sanja shares what she would tell her younger self. Welcome to the Multi-FAMILY zone podcast, where business meets family. The hosts of the show, Julia and Gino Barbaro, have been married for over twenty years, and have six children.   Julia homeschools the children, and recently became a marriage and life coach to help couples become better communicators and help enrich their lives.  The couple is constantly asked about how they balance their entrepreneurial & real estate journey while raising their kids. The Multi-FAMILY zone was created to address these questions, along with a host of questions from the Jake & Gino community.   In this episode we feature Sanja Hatter. She is a mom, wife, and the co-founder of Thrive: Make Money Matter, the #1 rated conference for entrepreneurs on earth. She is an expert in initiating, nurturing and maintaining relationships. Sanja loves to teach the 4 pillars of what creates a Thriving Woman: Beauty, Confidence, Wisdom and Community. She also loves sharing how she gets the attention of influencers you “can’t reach”, creating win-win scenarios to create true lasting relationships.   We are often asked "What events would you recommend I attend?" Well this is one for the ladies that our team highly recommends you make a priority. If you're a husband/boyfriend, although this event wasn't created for you, you'll want to keep reading. It's no secret that women entrepreneurs/investors are BOOMING, but sadly there aren't a ton of communities and events specifically designed for women...until now.    Sanja Hatter is a good friend of ours and we are so proud to share she has created the first ever Thrive Ladies' Academy. This event is the all new sister-hood that the female entrepreneur community needs. There are 100 women coming together to learn, network, and grow. The funniest part is Sanja chartered a yacht, this event is taking place on the water! Women, if this is the year you're ready to take yourself and your business to the next level, you'll want to be there. Gentlemen, if you want your significant other to show up with more confidence, support you more in your career/business, and have resources that will support her on her journey, you will want to get her on the boat.   What are you waiting for ladies?    Click here for more info on Thrive Ladies!

Sanja Hatter is the co-founder of Thrive Make Money Matter. This year Thrive is from May 31st through June 2nd at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Sanja talks about her unique story, how to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in your kids, why building self-confidence is so crucial to anything that you do, and the three reasons you should go to Thrive this year. Episode Highlights: Sanja was born in Serbia and immigrated her when she was 4, both of her parents worked two jobs. Sanja went to Cal State Long Beach and earned a criminal justice degree. Sanja’s parents immigrated because of war breaking out in Eastern Europe Her social life in elementary school was not extremely affected by her immigration status. She was really good at school growing up and helped raise her younger sister. She worked really hard in college with two full-time jobs and she saved all her money. Travis Chappell went to Bible school and double majored in Bible and theology. How Sanja wants her children to grow up and feel about work. How Sanja is instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in her children. How Travis and his sister invested money from the time they were young and bought their first investment property in their early 20’s. Some lessons Sanja has learned from her biggest losses. The doors that have opened from Sanja’s fitness competition and beauty pageant. How Sanja and Cole differentiate Thrive from other similar conferences. If introverts can position themselves to be the person people want to connect with, they won’t have to use as many of their energy reserves. How Cole and Sanja best manage their time and balance their businesses and family. Sanja would rather do all of her work at once and the spend focused time with her kids. The role that self-confidence plays in business and success. Sanja knew what she wanted when she did her bikini competition and beauty pageant. A glimpse of Thrive 2019: 20+ speakers - Andy Frisella, Lisa Bilyeu, Billy Gene, etc. Each speaker is a different genre and an expert in their field. The people who come to Thrive have learned how to make a difference in the world. Dan Fleyshman’s non-profit will be supported at the pool party at the end of the event. The attendees at Thrive are better than many other events out there. Do you believe that who you know or what you know is more important, and why? It’s definitely not what you know - there are so many people who know so much, but if they don’t know how to get it out there they won’t be successful. The Random Round What profession other than your own do you think it would be fun to attempt? A producer or director to make movies. If you could sit on a park bench with anyone past or present and talk with them for an hour, who would it be and why? Sarah Blakely She is a phenomenal mom and business owner. How do you like to consume content? Videos and audio Sanja’s morning routine: Coffee What is your go-to pump up song? NF What is something you’re not very good at? Cooking What is one place online where we can find Sanja the most? @SanjaHatter on Instagram attendthrive.com 3 Key Points: You will always learn lessons, even from your failures. Sanja and Cole lost over $200,000 on their first Thrive. Thrive blossoms because of the people who come to the event, they’re high-quality and really want to make their money matter. Having balance is just doing what makes you happy, there will always be chaos. Tweetable Quotes: “I want my kids to understand, ‘work hard, play hard.’” -Sanja “Thrive stands out because we have credible speakers and attendees.” -Sanja “Sometimes you just have to... This past weekend I was in Newport Beach, California at Cole and Sanja Hatter’s mastermind.   I’m a BIG believer getting around big thinkers because, after all, you are the average of the 5 people you associate with most.   The thing I love about this mastermind, aside from the amazing group of badass conscious capitalists, but the big thinkers that Cole brings in to speak with us.   Some of these speakers this last time included people like: Bedros Keuilian (CEO of Fitbody Bootcamp), Alex Mehr from Mentorbox, Naveen Jain (billionaire badass), and my man Billy Gene (of Billy Gene is Marketing.)   On today’s Fan Question Friday, I’m going to share my biggest (actionable) take away from each of these speakers. A mentor of mine once told me “Business is about solving problems and the bigger the problems you solve…usually the more impact you make.” Comment below if you agree with this? I definitely think this is true. Another mentor of mine, Cole Hatter, just told Chris and I this when we were at his house interviewing him and his wife Sanja. He told us this powerful story where he was on a billionaire’s yacht in Seattle, and to make the story short, he stepped out to solve a problem for his event that was coming soon, and the billionaire stepped out as well to solve a problem with his team. Here’s the kicker though… Cole was solving a $100 problem that was going to help thousands of people. The billionaire was solving a billion-dollar problem that was going to help billions of people. And what Cole realized was that the billionaire wasn’t working harder than him. He was just solving a bigger problem. So, the take home message Cole told us was, “you might as well go bigger and solve bigger problems to impact more people because the same work ethic and effort will go into it.” That was just one-story Cole told us in our conversation we had with him and what was cool is he had his wife, Sanja, right beside him dropping knowledge bombs. In THIS CONVERSATION, you will learn: • How to solve bigger problems to help billions of people and Cole’s big ah ha moment when he figured this out • Why using the 5 love languages (touch, gifts, acts of services, words of affirmation, and quality time) are great for relationships, team building, and work environments • A teaser behind THRIVE V, the 1 speaker they’re trying to get on stage, and what to expect with their grand vision in the next 3-5 years • Their next venture outside of the event space that will solve bigger problems and reach billions of people Get ready for this awesome, entertaining, and impactful conversation we had with Cole and Sanja Hatter Follow us on Instagram @chrisandericmartinez and checkout the full show notes at www.liveadynamiclifestyle.com/podcast/ep…ja-hatter/ And follow Sanja and Cole on IG @sanjahatter and @colehatter or checkout their awesome conference at www.attendthrive.com

Episode #100! In this episode the tables are turned and I am interviewed! This was a very fun and completely unscripted conversation that I had with my dear friend Sanja Hatter. You may recognize the name, as she is the wife of Cole Hatter, from my very first episode. (He also is returning next week!) Some of the topics we talked about include the difference between being nice and being kind, living a life of intention, and whether we are hard wired through some DNA programming, or if it's life experiences that determine our purpose. As you can see in this episode, I try very hard to do everything with intention and mindfulness. If I can find a way to get someone out of their comfort zone and show them that I believe in them enough to push them into their greatness… I will every time. This episode is just that. As interesting as it is to focus on what people do, I am even more fascinated in what people don't do. It's those limiting beliefs that hold us back, keep us playing small, and ultimately leading to a life of regret. Find people who are kind enough to tell you when you are doing that, and don't enable you by being “nice”. My best advice for doing what you were put here in this lifetime to do: Spend time in reflection about what truly makes your heart sing. (Go WAY back for this.) Surround yourself with people who encourage you to get out of your comfort zone. Learn from your mistakes, focus on your wins. What I believe to be absolutely true: It's not what you want, it's who you are, that determines what you will get in life. Do you deserve the person, the pay, and the lifestyle you want? Being honest about this will change everything. When you show up as the person you are trying to attract, they will be there. When you work hard enough to deserve the pay you desire, money will not be an issue. When you are honest and clear about what you value, your lifestyle will reflect it. Integrity= Your words consistently matching your actions… That is a Game Changer! Thanks for Listening and Subscribing! Also, for my blogs (my take on every episode) go to: www.innernorthstar.com and receive my free eBook with my appreciation for joining the tribe! Thank you so much for joining me on this episode. As you can see in this episode, I try very hard to do everything with intention and mindfulness.  If I can find a way to get someone out of their comfort zone and show them that I believe in them enough to push them into their greatness… I will every time.  This episode is just that.  As interesting as it is to focus on what people do, I am even more fascinated in what people don’t do.  It’s those limiting beliefs that hold us back, keep us playing small, and ultimately leading to a life of regret.  Find people who are kind enough to tell you when you are doing that, and don’t enable you by being “nice”. My best advice for doing what you were put here in this lifetime to do: Spend time in reflection about what truly makes your heart sing.  (Go WAY back for this.)  Surround yourself with people who encourage you to get out of your comfort zone.  Learn from your mistakes, focus on your wins. What I believe to be absolutely true: It’s not what you want, it’s who you are, that determines what you will get in life.
