Hikaru Tanaka, the son of renowned anime voice actor Atsuko Tanaka, has updated his official social media account with a message in memory of his mother, stating that he is "truly grateful to all the people who still express their feelings for her."Atsuko Tanaka, known for voicing iconic anime characters such as Flamme in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Lisa Lisa from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hanami from Jujutsu Kaisen and of course, the original Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, passed away at age 61 after suffering a year-long battle with an undisclosed illness. The iconic JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise has had several story arcs aside from those in the anime that could easily become their own series, with characters such as Kishibe Rohan even getting spinoff manga of their own. Now, the fifth arc in the franchise will finally have one of its follow-ups brought to the U.S. for English-speaking fans.JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Purple Smoke Distortion is actually a sequel to a sequel in the "Golden Wind" arc, but fans outside Japan have been unable to read it. That's changing thanks to Viz Media, with the company soon localizing the title in North America. The highly anticipated anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run has received an exciting production update from a key staff member. The news comes just ahead of a major worldwide reveal event scheduled for next month.Miwa Iwanami, the sound director for the entire JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime franchise, recently provided a new update via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He revealed that work on the series is progressing smoothly, stating that the sound work for episode 1 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run was completed. Iwanami also shared the creative direction for the show's audio, teasing, "The sound concept is 'Dance with Steel Ball Run.' It's a soundtrack you can dance to! Look forward to it! I want an Emmy Award for 'Sound Mixing/Editing.' What should I do? lol."
