Chris Neumann is a local filmmaker who displays a variety of popular and quirky interests. From hosting the Asheville Hiking Group, to producing television show Stashers and Cachers, Chris is a busy and interesting local flavor. Stashers and Cashers is a reality television show concept dreamed up by Neumann, who enjoys geocaching as a hobby. Geocaching is likened to a high tech treasure hunt chase, where cachers are given coordinates to clues and hidden objects. There are various levels of geocachers, and some like Chris enjoy setting up elaborate stages that challenge an individuals smarts and stamina while embarking on their challenging quest. While he is not staging elaborate geocaching missions, and leading hikes, Chris enjoys doing film work. One of his most recent projects was participating in the Doritos Crash The Superbowl Challenge. Chris led a small team to film their 30 second commercial in the waters of Lake Lure. Check out their hilarious entry here, and take a moment to rate it. Greetings from Kansas USA! I listen and greatly enjoy your podcast program. Here is a cache find posting I made for a multicache I found while caching with 2 other cachers. GC58R4X The Necropolis At Mount Allen by ottieolsen is the cache. Feel free to use it on your show if you would like to. Here it is, Excellent multi! Good fun, good history. And if you aren't operating at 100% and don't get the decimal point at the right spot you can turn it into a 5 spot multi!!! Oh, did I say 5??? Try 6 if you screw up on the decimal location twice!!! LOL!!! And if you are so multi talented (get the pun???) as I am you can visit 2 locations that neither is correct, yet both are excellent locations for a container!!! (lots more LOL! Either that or cry!) Soooo, after an extra 45 minutes of searching that would have worked for an episode of either CSI or NCIS, we (caching with 2 over cachers) FINALLY got to the correct location for the final!!! Bells rang, horns honked, fans cheered! (In my mind they did anyways! But it may have been from the heat!) We were rewarded with another ottieolsen class, not what we were expecting, cache container! Thanks again for another awesome cache in the Hays area! Cachers are always telling of the wonderful things that they have discovered and learned from Geocaching. I agree! Now I can add double checking info, repeatedly, to that list! Cache on! Podcast on! Redbeard4570 Nemesis Geocache.. D D & B S,I really enjoy the banter between you two.As of this month, August, my nemisis cache(s) are Mystery/Puzzle Caches and Multi-Caches. It seems that ever since the 7SofA, I can't find the final or the next stage to get the souvenir. As of this email, I have less than two weeks to get these last two cache types. To top it off, I've found all the Mystery and Multi's in my town and neighboring town, so I have to travel 15-30 miles one way just to fail. I don't know if I'll get all seven souvenirs.Doctor D,I wouldn't worry about Scott Berks and a "plane ticket", I've heard that he won't drive into downtown Chicago to go geocaching. So you're probably safe...but then again, you are talking messin' with his girl. :-0Listening from NW Indiana and loving the show.Keep up the good work,IN_Darel Ask Doctor D.. Listen to our interview with Happy Humphrey of Isle of Man. His screen name comes from a professional wrestler William J. Cobb. His motivation for Geocaching came from a walk on the Southern Upland Way in Southern Scotland. For that hike he picked up the Forerunner 201. Since then he's upgraded to the for his caching. He prefers to load the caches as POIs (Point Of Interest) rather than waypoints using a macro for GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife). He once flew to the Lake District in North West England just to be the first to find an elaborate multi-cache. Another notable multi-cache adventure took place in the Black Forest of Germany where he was not able to find the final cache. The closest that he came to a signature item was to produce the Isle of Man Geocoin. His favorite caching location was the Black Forest, but given the chance he would like to return to California. The favorite caches hides are "The Money Pit"e (GCX21B) and the "Three Legs" series. The most memorable caching event was "The UK's First Mega Event" (GC17W59) where he ran into many of the Cachers he recognized from logs. Listen to our interview with Team Psychopuppy of California. The team of five (two humans and three canines) took their name from the eldest puppy (Belle). They started their caching explorations with a Handspring Visor PDA with a GPS card from Magellan. Their first DNF didn't deter them, and eventually they purchased their Garmin GPSMap 60CSx and still prefer using that to their new Garmin Oregon. They're also using the navigation system in their Toyota Prius and the iPhone 3G. They still use their Handspring Visor and CacheMate for their cache information in the field. The 60CSx receives its caches through MacCaching while the Oregon is drag-and-drop of the GPX files from Geocaching.com. They hosted the "Caching on your Mac" at GeoWoodstock VI. They made a trip to visit his parents though during GeoWoodstock V. They enjoy their local Northern California for its variety, and especially Lake Powell (where they had an encounter with a winged geomuggle). One of their favorite events is the "Sonoma County Cachers Re-Union Cache" which they host each year. They also created the SRLUP series of caches bringing Cachers to the many small parks of Santa Rosa, California. They enjoy watching movies on their Plasma TV (when not Geocaching), including "Blade Runner" and the Disney/Pixar movies.
