Summary: In this conversation, Michael Easley and Dr. Calvin Beisner discuss the intersection of faith, environmental stewardship, and poverty. They explore Beisner's journey into stewardship, the founding of the Cornwall Alliance, and the importance of prioritizing human needs in environmental discussions. They also touch on the recent publication of Megan Basham's book, 'Shepherds for Sale,' which critiques the evangelical environmental movement and the influence of money in faith-based organizations. The dialogue emphasizes the need for accountability and critical engagement within the Christian community. Dr. Beisner and Dr. Easley discuss the importance of critical thinking and reading in developing a Christian worldview. They emphasize the need for Christians to engage deeply with scripture and literature to sharpen their minds. The discussion also delves into the green agenda, exploring the implications of environmentalism from a biblical perspective, including the trade-offs involved in energy production and the impact on the poor. Takeaways: Human beings should be the top priority of all life. Poverty is a tragic reality that many have never seen. The principles of the Cornwall Declaration remain applicable today. Public figures should be held accountable for their statements. Critique should be expected in public discourse. Discipline in thought is essential for Christians. Logic is a vital tool in understanding faith. We need to pay attention to sharpening our thinking. Critical thinking skills are lost in most education. Social media contributes to a decline in reading. Reading a real Bible is essential for understanding scripture. Engaging with literature enhances critical thinking. The green agenda often overlooks human welfare. Trade-offs exist in environmental policies. Fossil fuels are crucial for modern life. Rising energy costs disproportionately affect the poor. Dr. Carson speaks with Dr. E. Calvin Beisner on the intersection of environmental science, climate policy, and theological principles. This episode delves into the complex sphere where faith, stewardship, and scientific pragmatism meet, particularly in the context of the environmental issues of today.Together, they critically examine the cultural and ideological battle within the environmental discourse today, highlighting how various worldviews influence interpretations of climate change. Beisner discusses the often miscommunicated aspects of climate change, such as the Urban Heat Island effect and the contribution of greenhouse gases. He debunks popular catastrophic theories and advocates for the benefits of carbon dioxide's role in enhancing plant growth and, by extension, global food supply. Dr. Beisner emphasizes the necessity of a sober and realistic approach to climate science as he laid out in his latest book, “Climate and Energy: The Case for Realism.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Dr. Cal Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance gives an overview of his book, Climate and Energy: The Case for Realism, a collection of essays by climate scientists, economists, and other professionals. Environmental goals can absolutely be met in a way that does not threaten the survival of billions of human beings (ending fossil fuels, nuclear, etc.). Bonus: This book gives proper credit to the elephant in the room or the climate change debate chamber: the sun, with its cycles, weather, storms, and earthward springing flares. Where does the sun figure into the dozens of widely varying climate change models cited by leading scientists?

We keep being told we have to overhaul our whole way of life by 2030 but what is the empirical evidence and correct interpretation based on renowned physicist Richard Feynman's Key to Science? Jenna Eliis (00:36)- The House passed a $1.2 billion spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. Many conservative Republicans voted against the bill but, it seems the Democrats were in control, with their side voting 186 for and 22 against, helping push the 2/3 vote needed to pass the bill. Matt Rinaldi (9:01)- Following Super Tuesday, 11 Seats shifted to the right in the Texas House, 8 more seats went to run-offs, and a few members retired. Many voters were frustrated with how things have been handled in Texas and believed it was time for change. Walker Wildmon (18:01)- The Biden administration wants the American taxpayer to fund the DEI agenda using federal tax dollars. Why aren't more Republicans standing up in Congress to fight this reckless spending? Guest: Cal Beisner, President, The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation This past week, the U.S. Senate passed a bill, with every Democrat and 12 Republicans voting in favor, that is deceptively called “The Respect for Marriage Act.”In fact, the bill, now sure to be passed by the Democrat-majority U.S. House (before the Republican majority kicks in next year) and then signed by Democrat president Joe Biden, will overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and codify homosexual “marriage” into federal law.But aren't homosexuals already able to “marry” one another? Yes, but this bill would federalize homosexual “marriage” so states could not establish a contrary law and will be a bulwark should the Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell decision be overturned. That case banned any state from denying homosexual “marriages”.But even more sinister is the authority the bill offers to prosecute those individuals and organizations (like Christian schools) who hold to the Biblical one-man one-woman definition of marriage. This sets the stage for far more persecution of truth-tellers than ever before. It may not seem related but the end goal of the United Nation's COP 27 climate change conference that just concluded in Egypt is the same—to control and command people into compliance to a new world order of God-rejecting values. During the conference, an interfaith delegation held an event at Mt. Sinai (where Moses received the 10 Commandments) called “Returning to Sinai—A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice and Ceremony of Repentance” where they laid out and then smashed their own 10 climate commandments.Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matthew 5:10-12).The whole point of these events is to promote evil and punish those who stand for God's word. Unless or until the Supreme Court intervenes, it will likely be open season on Christians who stand for Biblical truth.Cal Beisner, president of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, joins us this weekend to examine these issues and how they will impact you.---------------------Related Resources:Global Warming Skepticism for Busy PeopleGlobal Warming DVD

GUEST: CAL BEISNER, President, The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of CreationNo doubt you have noticed that the price of nearly everything has increased. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Over the 12 months ended June 2022, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 9.1 percent…the largest 12-month increase since the 12-month period ending November 1981.”For example, food (for the home) increased 12.2%. Motor fuel increased 60.2%. Electricity rose 13.7%. Natural gas increased 38.4%. New vehicles rose 11.4%.Ask ten people why prices have increased so much and you'll likely hear explanations like “price gouging” or “Putin's war in Ukraine” or “Covid” or “supply chain problems.”But are these the real reasons? Cal Beisner, our guest this weekend, doesn't think so. He is the president of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation and a respected teacher on the environment, economics, and ethics. You may be surprised to learn that the price increases have almost everything to do with inflating the money supply through the latest nearly one trillion dollar spending bill misnamed the “Inflation Reduction Act”, which was pushed and passed on August 7 by President Biden and the Left, that will among other things, hire 87,000 new tax agents. The very next day, former President's Trump home was raided and searched by FBI agents for reasons not well-explained by the Justice Department.Cal will also address other questions, such as:Why are businesses struggling to find workers? Why Evangelicals have been influenced by the late Ron Sider, a leader in the “Evangelical Left”?The ethical question as to whether a Christian should attend a homosexual “wedding” to “be a good neighbor”?---------------------------Related Resource:Global Warming Skepticism for Busy People by Roy Spencer

GUEST: CAL BEISNER, President, The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of CreationJust as the root of redefining marriage and gender is rebellion against God's Word, so the same motivation drives the left-wing “climate change” movement.God commanded Adam and Eve in the first chapter of Scripture, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28).This is the “dominion mandate”, where man, as the pinnacle of God's creation, is called to populate the earth and rule over it in ways that, above all, benefit mankind and glorify God.The humanistic environmental worldview reverses this—the environment (“Mother Earth”) is prioritized above the needs of man and worshipped instead of the Creator.Because we all live in and are dependent on natural resources for energy, food, water, air, shelter, raw materials, medicines, clothes, and more, and because we all are drawn to the beauty, majesty and power of God's creation, co-opting the environment (through lying and scaring people) is one of the most useful means to achieve godless, humanistic ends. This week on The Christian Worldview, Cal Beisner, president of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, a “network of Christian theologians, natural scientists, economists, and other scholars educating for Biblical earth stewardship, economic development for the poor, and the proclamation and defense of the good news of salvation by God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection”, joins us to discuss how the war on energy—specifically fossil fuels like oil, gas, and coal—harms mankind, especially those most vulnerable. Why are fuel prices high, when our nation is blessed with all kinds of fossil fuel resources? Is the transition to electric vehicles going to improve life and the environment? And is it true, as we are constantly told, that man is causing irreversible and catastrophic climate change? We invite you to hear an uncommon—and biblical—perspective as Cal answers these questions and more.--------------Related Resource:Global Warming Skepticism for Busy People - for a donation of any amount!

Then Bill is joined by author Paul Horrocks for a rich discussion on four common characteristics of courageous men of the Bible-- and what we can learn from them for today, through his book Tough Guys of the Bible.
What is the Biblical definition of Justice - God's justice? As Christians we have to know the answer to this question to fully see what our world is saying today that goes against our Christian worldview, ethic, and faith. Otherwise, we will begin to erode God's truth and elevate humanity's lies.Let's jump into this!Referenced during the podcast (and soooo good!):Center for Biblical Unity (Monique Duson)Theology Mom (Krista Bontrager)Dr. Cal Beisner's Book (Social Justice vs Biblical Justice: How Good Intentions Undermine Justice and Gospel)Neil Shenvi (Lecture on Social Justice, CRT, and Christianity... Are They Compatible?)
You've heard people claim that the Bible is not a textbook on particular topics. While that's generally true, the Bible is a book about all of life. Everything that it speaks of is useful and true for all times and all people. Humanity needs special revelation in order to see life from God's perspective, rather than through our own sinful perspective. In this final part of the interview between Gary North and Cal Beisner, they discuss Christian education and how we move forward.
In this second part of the interview between Dr. Gary North and Cal Beisner, the discussion turns to long-term and short-term views. A long-term victorious outlook will yield much different results than a short-term pessimistic outlook. Thinking through the consequences of the Christian worldview on every topic of human existence takes time. This will not happen when the church is convinced that its time on earth is short.
The first part of an interview between Gary North and Cal Beisner about worldviews and how they influence everything, including environmental issues. The Apocalyptic Environmentalists have been the majority voice in the media for decades. Cal and his organization, the Cornwall Alliance, work to inform, educate, and motivate Christians to get involved with facts, truth, and optimism.
GUEST: CAL BEISNER, author, Biblical Foundations for Economics The government printing and spending trillions of dollars on social programs or paying able-bodied people to not work or taxing the income-producing to fund all manner of “entitlements”—food, health care, housing, education, child care, retirement—have become commonplace in American society. Three weeks ago (Nov. 13, 2021) in part 1 of our program on economics, Cal Beisner, director of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, defined economics as “moral philosophy applied to man's marketplace relationships.” In other words, one's moral worldview will lead to certain economic policies. For example, the moral judgment that “No one should go hungry in America” or “Everyone deserves a place to live” or “Health care is a human right” results in economic policies that feed, house, and care for people, even if the recipient is unwilling to contribute through work or payment. And then there's the view that work is oppressive and unjust, as in the Marxist worldview where the employer is seen as the subjugator of the employee, leading to redistributive policies by government that aim to achieve “equity”. Sound familiar?
GUEST: CAL BEISNER, author, Biblical Foundations for Economics Morality is the judgment between what is right and what is wrong and economics is how money, goods, and services are used and exchanged. While morality and economics seem unrelated, they are actually linked. When moral judgments are made about any given issue, economic decisions follow to support those moral judgments. For example, abortion is viewed by our government as morally good and so therefore economic policy is made to fund the killing of the pre-born and post-born. It's no coincidence that as American's judgment of what is right and wrong has moved away from biblical morality, our economic policies have gone the same direction. Government rather than the individual is now viewed as the best caretaker for the poor, needy, and unemployed. Government is seen as the solution to inequality, education, health care, and the environment. Socialism—strong governmental ordering of society—is ascending while capitalism—individual liberties applied to markets—is slandered as “selfish”, “greedy”, and “immoral”. Cal Beisner, author of Biblical Foundations for Economics, joins us on The Christian Worldview to discuss how economic principles and policies need to be based on the Bible to achieve the greatest human flourishing. We will also hear the remaining portion of the interview with Mike Gendron about why the Pope and President Biden share some a “strong rapport” (hint: that has to do with their economic views as well).

Climate change is a hot topic of the day. Climate change alarmists utilize words, numbers, charts, and gut-wrenching pictures of severe weather damage, displaced animals, shrinking bodies of waters, melting ice caps, and other natural phenomena in order to sway you to think one way about climate change and man's effect on the environment. However, how do you, as a steward of God's world, separate information from propaganda, fact from conjecture, truth from lies when often they are braided together like the threads of a rope? Christians and non-Christians alike both want to protect our planet. It's our home for the duration and as good stewards, we want to be do what we can to protect this gem of a world we've been blessed with. I'm pleased to once again have Dr. Cal Beisner from the Cornwall Alliance. Dr. Beisner is Founder and National Spokesman of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. The Cornwall Alliance is a network of theologians, scientists, economists, and other scholars and leaders work together to promote, primarily through education, three things simultaneously: Biblical earth stewardship, economic development for the world's poor, and the proclamation and defense of the gospel of Jesus Christ all in a world permeated by an environmental movement whose worldview, theology, and ethics are overwhelmingly anti-Christian, whose science and economics are often poorly done, whose policies therefore often do little good for natural ecosystems but much harm to the world's poor, and whose religious teachings undermine the fundamental Christian doctrines of God, creation, humanity, sin, and salvation.
