Summary: In this conversation, Michael Easley and Dr. Calvin Beisner discuss the intersection of faith, environmental stewardship, and poverty. They explore Beisner's journey into stewardship, the founding of the Cornwall Alliance, and the importance of prioritizing human needs in environmental discussions. They also touch on the recent publication of Megan Basham's book, 'Shepherds for Sale,' which critiques the evangelical environmental movement and the influence of money in faith-based organizations. The dialogue emphasizes the need for accountability and critical engagement within the Christian community.  Dr. Beisner and Dr. Easley discuss the importance of critical thinking and reading in developing a Christian worldview. They emphasize the need for Christians to engage deeply with scripture and literature to sharpen their minds. The discussion also delves into the green agenda, exploring the implications of environmentalism from a biblical perspective, including the trade-offs involved in energy production and the impact on the poor. Takeaways: Human beings should be the top priority of all life. Poverty is a tragic reality that many have never seen. The principles of the Cornwall Declaration remain applicable today. Public figures should be held accountable for their statements. Critique should be expected in public discourse. Discipline in thought is essential for Christians. Logic is a vital tool in understanding faith. We need to pay attention to sharpening our thinking. Critical thinking skills are lost in most education. Social media contributes to a decline in reading. Reading a real Bible is essential for understanding scripture. Engaging with literature enhances critical thinking. The green agenda often overlooks human welfare. Trade-offs exist in environmental policies. Fossil fuels are crucial for modern life. Rising energy costs disproportionately affect the poor. Send us a textWhat is meant by "social justice" today, and why do so many sincerely justice-loving Christians warn against it? Dr. Calvin Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance joins us to discuss social justice vs. biblical justice. We explore the complexities of justice, economic ethics, the flaws of socialism and capitalism, and the role of Christianity in addressing these global challenges. Dr. Beisner offers insights from his book Social Justice vs. Biblical Justice, where he refutes claims that the Bible advocates for wealth redistribution and builds a biblical framework for true justice. The discussion highlights the four criteria of biblical justice—impartiality, proportionality, rendering what is due, and conformity to God's law—while examining why some "rights" claimed in the name of social justice violate true, biblically defined rights. Don't miss this episode as this topic continues to be highly relevant and believers must have a solid biblical perspective in order to think rightly, form culture, and respond to the needs of our society.View the transcript, leave comments, and check out recommended resources on the Episode Landing Page!

What should Christians really think about climate change? What does the Bible have to say about creation care? E. Calvin Beisner, Ph.D. and Dr. David R. Legates, Ph.D. from the Cornwall Alliance have spent their lives trying to provide this perspective. Their new book, Climate and Energy, brings together numerous experts on climate science, physics, economics, environmental science, political science, ethics, and theology. It brings a clear understanding about the ideas of human-induced climate change and how Christians should respond. In today's episode, you'll learn the basics of climate change and how differing worldviews significantly affect a person's response to the issue. You'll also learn about renewable energy and its effects on the poor, along with the impact of postmodernism on the field of science. Finally, we offer some critiques of the Christian creation care movement that Megan Basham covered in her recent bestselling book, Shepherds for Sale. This week's North American Ag Spotlight is a little different, last week I attended the 2024 American Agri-women Fly-In in Washington DC. Among the many speakers we heard there was one extraordinarily excellent presentation by University of Delaware Professor Emeritus David R. Legates, Ph.D., C.C.M. His content is thought provoking and important as it flies against the grain of current ideology. From the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. David R. Legates presentation was titled, 'How will Climate Change Affect Agriculture?' he did a deep dive into real climate data and how environmental extremism is causing problems for the American farmer and overall global food security. Legates has testified three times as an expert witness before the US Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works and before both Pennsylvania House and Senate Committee meetings on climate change. He participated in the historic joint USA-USSR protocol for the exchange of climate information in 1990, won the 2002 Boeing Autometric Award for the Best Paper in Image Analysis and Interpretation by the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, won First Place in the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and ESRI Paper Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was awarded the Courage in Defense of Science Award in 2015.About American Agri-WomenAmerican Agri-Women (AAW) promotes the welfare of our national security through a safe and reliable food, fiber and mineral supply. It's Tuesday, April 23rd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Hinduism threatens Christians in Nepal Hindu nationalism is spreading into Nepal, threatening Christians in that country.   International Christian Concern reports that protesters demanding a Hindu state, marched on the parliament building in Kathmandu last week. The protest turned violent after participants clashed with police. Ethiopia bans imported non-electric vehicles Ethiopia has become the first nation in the world to ban the import of non-electric vehicles. However, most Ethiopians cannot afford the $25,000 price tag for a Chinese-manufactured electric vehicle. Kenya reduced accessibility to fuel, electricity, and fertilizer Kenyan President William Ruto has also recently reduced accessibility of fertilizer, fuel, and electricity in his country in an attempt to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reports The Epoch Times. Christian economists, like Calvin Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance, are concerned that reducing access to fossil fuels and fertilizer will seriously hamstring Africa's economic progress in the future. Beisner considers “the most harmful policy” is that the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the U.S. Agency for International Development are “refus[ing] to do loans or other funding for coal, natural gas, or oil-based electric generating stations in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia and Latin America.” Capitol Bible Reading Marathon begins The Washington D.C. Capitol Bible Reading program kicks off this week. The 5-day marathon takes place in seven other state capitols around the nation. According to the program's website, the stated goal of the ministry is to “exhort our nation to return to God's precepts. It is our desire to publicly read God's Holy Word on the steps of the national and state Capitols, every year, for ninety consecutive hours.” Deuteronomy 17:18-20 requires that each king ruling Israel would “write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.  And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes.” Japan, Singapore and America guilty of growing debt the most The nations with the largest increases in government debt as a percentage of the economy since 2010 are Japan, Singapore, and the United States, in that order. Singapore's debt-to-Gross Domestic Product doubled.  Japan's debt-to-GDP increased by 185%. And the United States' debt-to-GDP grew by a whopping 226%. Commercial real estate foreclosures up Commercial real estate foreclosures are approaching a 10-year high this spring. California, New York, Florida, Texas, and New Jersey, in particular, are facing accelerating rates in foreclosures. More young women working outside the home A record percentage of young women 25-54 years old, are working outside of the home, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In 2023, that percentage swelled to a high of 77.8% compared to 89.1% for men. In 1950, the ratio was 34% to 91%. The Christian Science Monitor reports that the main driver of women entering the work force is college-aged women with young children. The ratio of female to male graduate college students has reached 1.5. That's up from 0.45 in 1970. Anti-Israel protests at top colleges Anti-Israel protests are swarming over America's elite colleges. Fox News reported student protests on the campuses of Columbia, Yale, NYU, MIT, and Emerson College. In some cases, police had made arrests. Pastor to Tucker Carlson: We need to repent of our sin Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson invited Pastor Douglas Wilson from Moscow, Idaho on to his online platform for an hour-long conversation last week to discuss the subject of Christian Nationalism.   In addition, Wilson explained to Carlson that there is no political solution for the ills that face the United States. Listen. WILSON: “We're in such a mess that there is no political solution. We're beyond hope. The next election, however happy it might make us for 10 minutes, is not going to fix everything.” CARLSON: “That's right.” WILSON: “Our disease is radical and it's spiritual. We've got a radical leprosy. The United States needs to repent of its sin, to use an old-fashioned term. We need to repent of our sins, our arrogance, and turn back to God. That's what is necessary. And we need preachers who are willing to tell them to do that.” Plus, Wilson pointed out that the American system was sustained in the past by “a shared moral consensus.”  But now, he fears, it is devolving into “anarchy and disruption.”  An 8-minute clip of the interview has already collected 7.7 million views. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, the Lord told Solomon, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, April 23rd in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Dr. E. Calvin Beisner joins the Tim DeMoss Show today :).  He is co-author and co-editor of Climate & Energy-The Case for Realism. Beisner views anthropogenic global warming as real but unlikely to become catastrophic and believes the cost/benefit ratio of adapting to whatever future climate that lies ahead as better than trying to control global temperature by substituting wind, solar and other renewable energy sources for the hydrocarbon (aka "fossil") fuels. Beisner is Founder, President, and National Spokesman of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. He has written over 15 books, edited more than 30, contributed to over 35, and published thousands of articles, popular and scholarly. Climate & Energy-The Case for Realism is comprised of 16 chapters written by a dozen experts including co-editor David R. Legates, former professor of geography at the University of Delaware. Chapter titles include "Introduction: Life after Climate Change--Better Than Before," "The History and Politics of Climate Change," "The Science of Climate" and "How Economic Thinking Can Help Tackle Climate Change." Multiple additional chapters outlining the role of the Sun, oceans, evaporation, precipitation & clouds, as well as of greenhouse gases, are found within Climate & Energy's pages. Dr. Calvin Beisner discusses how there is no climate crisis and how the benefits of using "fossil fuels" far outweigh the costs. An endless amount of holes can be poked in the climate narrative (e.g. Medieval Warm Period). The current changes in climate are not unprecedented. The sun is a key contributor to the cycles of warming and cooling. Up to 50% of the apparent increase in global average temperature over the last century has been happening only in urban areas. We are due for significant global cooling. In fact, warmth is better for human health than cold. The climate catastrophist movement is neofeudal, neocolonial, condemnable, and morally reprehensible. China is playing the West, their aim is to get us to reduce our energy use which reduces our prosperity, part of their plan to fulfill their "hundred year marathon". So much of this is rooted in the (neo)Malthusian worldview. The politics behind "climate change" are dedicated to the destruction of national sovereignty and the replacement of it with a one-world government. Throughout history dominant paradigms have collapsed and that will likely happen with the catastrophic climate change narrative. We're inundated with fear-filled statements of climate collapse. Young people have been told that the rest of us have all doomed their future for our profit. We must stop all carbon emissions to conform to a net zero policy. Remember high school science? People exhale CO2. Do they know this, or is the real agenda reducing the population? As an economic issue, we're told we must eliminate fossil fuels as if oil, gas, and coal are fossils from dead dinosaurs. Dr. Calvin Beisner, founder, president, and national spokesperson of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, joins Kevin Freeman in the Economic War Room to expose the root of climate change fears and what can be done to push back.

Guest: Cal Beisner, President, The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation This past week, the U.S. Senate passed a bill, with every Democrat and 12 Republicans voting in favor, that is deceptively called “The Respect for Marriage Act.”In fact, the bill, now sure to be passed by the Democrat-majority U.S. House (before the Republican majority kicks in next year) and then signed by Democrat president Joe Biden, will overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and codify homosexual “marriage” into federal law.But aren't homosexuals already able to “marry” one another? Yes, but this bill would federalize homosexual “marriage” so states could not establish a contrary law and will be a bulwark should the Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell decision be overturned. That case banned any state from denying homosexual “marriages”.But even more sinister is the authority the bill offers to prosecute those individuals and organizations (like Christian schools) who hold to the Biblical one-man one-woman definition of marriage. This sets the stage for far more persecution of truth-tellers than ever before. It may not seem related but the end goal of the United Nation's COP 27 climate change conference that just concluded in Egypt is the same—to control and command people into compliance to a new world order of God-rejecting values. During the conference, an interfaith delegation held an event at Mt. Sinai (where Moses received the 10 Commandments) called “Returning to Sinai—A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice and Ceremony of Repentance” where they laid out and then smashed their own 10 climate commandments.Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matthew 5:10-12).The whole point of these events is to promote evil and punish those who stand for God's word. Unless or until the Supreme Court intervenes, it will likely be open season on Christians who stand for Biblical truth.Cal Beisner, president of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, joins us this weekend to examine these issues and how they will impact you.---------------------Related Resources:Global Warming Skepticism for Busy PeopleGlobal Warming DVD

It's Thursday, September 8th,  A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Myanmar's Buddhist military blocking humanitarian help Ever since the February 2021 military coup that deposed Myanmar's democratically elected government, infighting between the military and pro-democracy forces has led to violence and mass displacement, reports International Christian Concern. Religious minorities, including Christians, are especially targeted in crackdowns by the Buddhist nationalist military.  In war-torn Kayah state especially, widespread displacement due to fighting has led to a humanitarian crisis with 200,000 internally displaced civilians lacking necessities such as food and medicine because the Burmese army is blocking supply routes.  Military troops have destroyed food reserves and the constant infighting makes it impossible to farm. Health problems are rampant as access to medical care is also being denied.  Worse yet, many of those who have attempted to return to their homes have been killed or injured by landmines planted by military junta.  Please pray for those who are suffering from oppression and persecution in Myanmar. Biden to heckler: “Everyone's entitled to be an idiot!” While President Joe Biden gave a Labor Day speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a heckler tried to interrupt. When the crowd started booing, the president said this. BIDEN: “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't. Let him go. He's. Look, everybody's entitled to be an idiot. No, no. Everybody's entitled, okay?” Former Arkansas Republican Governor Mike Huckabee responded to Biden's reaction on Todd Starnes' radio show. HUCKABEE: “He called one of the hecklers in the audience this weekend an idiot. But that was right after he said how we have to fight for the soul of America and respect each other. And I'm thinking, ‘Yep, that sure did it for me!'” GOP Congressman: “We're the pro-life party.” Appearing on Fox & Friends on Tuesday, Republican Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio was asked what he thinks the Republicans' message should be on abortion since Roe v. Wade was overturned and the mid-term election nears. JORDAN: “We're the pro-life party. We're going to protect the sanctity of human life. Democrats have the radical position. They're the ones who thinks you should be able to take the unborn child's life right up until their birthday, for goodness sake! And they had a governor in Virginia [Ralph Northam], just a few years ago, who said even after that fact, you could take the life of a child. That is frightening!   “So lean into it and talk about, ‘We're the party that's going to protect the sanctity of human life like we've always been.' This was a huge win for the precious nature of human life, and I don't think we should shy away from it.” In Jeremiah 1:5, God said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." Why environmental activists hate humans On yesterday's edition of Generations Radio, I interviewed Dr. Calvin Beisner, Founder of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, about how the "green" global elites are aiming for total food control. Their power grab, which is now most evident in Holland, threatens the entire planet — including America. My interview was based on two alarming articles in the New American entitled “No Farmers, No Food” and “Biden's War on Farmers.” The environmental activists are using the ploy of “global warming” to severely restrict the amount of chemical fertilizers and pesticides as well as the number of cattle which farmers can use and own.  Listen to Beisner's analysis of the worldview of today's environmentalists. BEISNER:  “They hate humanity because human beings are made in God's image. Environmentalists have embraced a naturalistic worldview that rejects the Creator, worships the creature instead of the Creator, is driven into absurdity, into folly, professing themselves to be wise, they become fools. They worship and serve the creature instead of the Creator, as Paul puts it in Romans chapter one. “That means they want to attack anything that looks like God. Well, human beings are the image of God, and therefore, they want to reduce human population. “The top leaders of the world's largest environmental organizations think that the optimal human population would be 300 to 500 million people. That means we got to get rid of about 97% of us.” McMANUS: “Wow!” BEISNER: “This is not people who love their neighbors, let alone love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.” (Luke 10:27) You can listen to the entire September 7th interview at Generations.org/radio. British churches welcome Ukrainian refugees And finally, after the rapid takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban in August 2021, 20,000 people arrived in England, almost overnight.  The British church mobilized to welcome Afghan families and provide practical help, reports Evangelical Focus. The British Christians have been equally welcoming of Ukrainian refugees who have left their country since the Russian invasion. For example, since Easter, Gold Hill Baptist Church in Buckinghamshire has run a drop-in cafe twice a week, offering English lessons to over 40 Ukrainians, and a space where guests and hosts can meet together. In Matthew 25:35, Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, September 8th, in the year of our Lord 2022. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
