A never before heard insight into centre of the siege. From communicating with snipers across the scene, to briefing the Prime Minister. But it's not all as it seems. The public was told a different story. Danny is a former NSW Police Officer who was a pivotal part of three of Sydney's most high profile criminal investigations. The Bilal Skaf case, also known as the Sydney Gang Rapes saw Danny as part of a search crew - looking for victims and building a case against Skaf and his affiliates. The Cronulla Riots, where Danny stood guard at the Lakemba Mosque amid an onslaught of violence; and then the Lindt Cafe Siege, arguably Sydney's most notable hostage situation. Danny goes into intense detail, and outlines beat by beat the details and processes of the investigation and the convictions. Unpack Danny's career in the force and the work he's doing now with host Brent Sanders. To see more of Danny, he can be found on Tik Tok. As we enter the quarantine home stretch, the finish line appears within reach and the smell of kebabs in a Sydney park on a cold Autumn afternoon wafts in our general direction. The question on everyone's mind, “Will the boys make it out of isolation with their sanity intact?” Well, if this week's episode is anything to go by, the answer to that question is a resounding no. This week we officially* become a Mad Mex endorsed podcast as we bow down to our Mexican overlords. The episode begins as we revisit enemy of the podcast, Equatorial Guinea, we then provide an update on our ongoing feud with Guzman y Gomez before revealing that, much like Moses on Mount Sinai, God (Eddie Woo) appeared before us on Twitter. The boys then delve into life and death scenarios, proving once and for all that ethnics could've survived the Cronulla Riots before ending on a game which explores fun topics like midgets, Jews and child labour. Also this week: Pete Evans, Dele Alli is Indian and where is the International Space Station? Segments this week: The Logue: Tired of reaching around each other (at least on the podcast), the boys have instead decided to reach around the week's news stories, events and viral trends. Against the Odds: The boys discuss the nuances of various life and death scenarios providing a template on how to survive your next one. What is the Question?: The boys are presented with an answer and they have to guess what the question is - the most humorous answer wins. ___________________________________________________ FULL PODCAST EPISODES

The 2005 Cronulla riots were a series of race riots and outbreaks of mob violence in Sydney, beginning on 11 December 2005 in the beachside suburb of Cronulla which spread, over the next few nights, to additional suburbs. Now many years later, these events will be discussed by two drunken idiots... who can't help but break out into horribly off-key song, and give their two cents on things they just probably shouldn't. -Coarse Language -Sexual Content -Suggestive Dialogue -Violence Help for Veterans- Legacy Mental health issues- Beyond Blue Domestic Abuse- LifelineCaring for someone with a drug problem?- Here. Cronulla is located 26 kilometres (16 miles) south of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire. Or as some of the locals just call it, The Shire. From Captain Cook’s landing in 1770 on the shores of Botany Bay to the events that took place in Cronulla beach in 2005, the backdrop of the Australian beach has a long history of acts of gendered and racial possession. In 2005, The Shire, became ground-zero, for the Cronulla Riots. Help for Veterans- Legacy Mental health issues- Beyond Blue Domestic Abuse- LifelineCaring for someone with a drug problem?- Here. At times funny, bizarre and confronting, cultures and ideologies collide in this intimate and innately Australian exploration of love and loss. Drawing the 2005 Cronulla Riots, which attracted worldwide attention for all the wrong reasons, Stories of Love & Hate considers the idea of hate being a consequence of feeling that the things we love are under threat.--Roslyn Oades is well known for her pioneering work in the field of headphone verbatim and audio-driven performance, taking real life and fusing it into storytelling. As an artist, Roslyn harbors a long-term fascination for vocal patterns and moonlights as a well-known cartoon character voice performer—including major roles on the animated TV series Tracey McBean, Bananas in Pyjamas and Zigby. She has also worked extensively as a TV actor and puppeteer.
Photojournalist Andrew Quilty likes to quote his mate and photographic mentor Dean Sewell as saying “There are only two types of photographer: Those who draw attention to their subject, and those who draw attention to themselves.†And, while behind the lens he keeps to that, Andrew has done so much lately to draw so much well deserved attention to himself. He came to fame covering the Cronulla Riots in 2005, covered Hurricane Sandy from the front lines in 2012 using Instagram and has spent the last two years in and out of Afghanistan. He topped it all a few weeks back by winning the Nikon-Walkley photo of the year. He came on Out of the Box to help us round out the year for our final show of 2014. We'll be back in early January 2015. Full playlist at http://fbiradio.com/programs/out-of-the-box/2014-12-18/
