And our show is doing it's best to bring you all the latest information so that you can be ready for the Sunday opener! Hosts Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas are back to make sure you know exactly what's going on with your team. Afterall, there are only hours until first kick and there's still so much to learn. Your hosts will first recap all the changes the Galaxy have made in the offseason. They'll start by looking back at the beginning of the 2017 season so you'll get a reminder of what this team looked like after Bruce Arena went on to coach the U.S. Men's National Team and Curt Onalfo took over. They'll compare that to the 2018 projected starting lineup to see just how far this team has come. But they'll also highlight some of the bigger weaknesses on the team and that focus will definitely be pointed at the Galaxy's defense. Then Josh will be joined by Galaxy midfielder, and preseason MVP - according to Josh - Perry Kitchen to discuss his role on the club and how he's adjusting to being back in the states and in Southern California. Kitchen will also give you his goals for the season and the goals for the club. Finally, Josh and Wendy will give you the briefest of previews between two teams - the Galaxy and the Portland Timbers - who still have a bunch of question marks. Will Jonathan dos Santos be ready to appear for the club? Will Michael Ciani start over Daniel Steres? And where is the biggest place for the Timbers to attack the Galaxy? It's all part of our last show before the season starts. Can you believe it? The offseason is officially over. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

PODCAST PAGE LINK: http://wp.me/p4gY4u-36i Your host, CoG's very own, Josh Guesman, will talk to Dave about the incredible story of how he ended up in playing soccer for the Galaxy. He'll tell you about how MLS never invited him to the draft or the combine, about how the San Jose Earthquakes passed on him and how he somehow ended up as a non-contract player under Curt Onalfo at LA Galaxy II. Dave will also discuss his relationship with Onalfo, his relationship with Sigi Schmid, and why the players all seem to really like Dominic Kinnear. We'll also talk about if players gossip about other players salaries and whether or not Dave is a FIFA guy when he plays his video games. Finally, Dave gives you a great insight into the team, explains how shocking this season was to everyone and why they're still focused on winning games in 2017 but already can't wait to get back on the field for 2018. Dave went from being a ten-percent scholarship player at the University of San Fransisco to the first every Galaxy player to be signed from their USL affiliate. David and Ben then interview Schmid, asking what he needs to do first, some rumored additions and his emotions heading into Saturday's matchup against his former team (10 pm ET; ESPN, ESPN Deportes in US | MLS LIVE in Canada). In the second segment, USA's sixth Gold Cup trophy is discussed as Doyle tells you what the scene was like at Levi's Stadium and why the US deserved their 2-1 win against Jamaica. He also breaks down who helped and hurt their stock while Ben tries to just enjoy the win. In the mailbag, fans make their voices heard with some hot-take predictions about some young US stars, why CJ Sapong will lead Philadelphia to greatness and if Dom Dwyer and Cyle Larin can fit together.

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy are making headlines again as rumors swirl around their possible pursuit of Jonathan dos Santos. Long a rumored target for the club, Jonathan dos Santos may be on his way to join his brother, Giovani dos Santos in Los Angeles. But there's more information than just the rumors and we're going to get into a detailed discussion on it. Your hosts, CoG's Josh Guesman and LA Times' Kevin Baxter are here to provide you with over 95-minutes of Galaxy talk.  Josh and Kevin will take you through some key points in the Galaxy's loss to the New England Revolution over the weekend. They'll discuss which players performed, which were left lacking and they'll also talk about what the loss means to the club. This team needs some points, but they didn't get them against the Revolution and now, they'll need to save themselves from tying some pretty bad losing streaks from 2006 and 2007.  Will the losing streak put Curt Onalfo on the edge of getting fired? How much blame can you heap towards the manager and how much needs to be focused on the front office? Could the Galaxy need a shake up more than anything else? We'll try and touch all the bases in getting you the information you need to know.  The guys will also go over your emails, your phone calls, and a bunch of your tweets as they attempt to answer the questions you're dying to know. And the thing you're most dying to know is about Jonathan dos Santos. And from this angle, the guys will make sure they give you the positives, the negatives, and everything else in-between. Will the Dos Santos family rule over the Galaxy with an iron fist? Who will have all the power? And can this front office deflect that pressure? It's a packed show with a bunch of information you won't find anywhere else. We're glad you could join us!  Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory!

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy just keep finding ways to win on the road! It's not a bad thing, but surely, some of that has to carry over to their home record soon, right? Behind two goals from Jack McBean and a penalty kick that was buried by Romain Alessandrini, the Galaxy come back to StubHub Center on Saturday to face off against the best team in the West, Sporting KC. Your hosts, CoG's Josh Guesman and TotalMLS.Net's (and sometimes CoG) writer Britt Pergl, will walk you through all the different angles to take on the win in the Mile High City. How impressive was McBean? How much credit should Curt Onalfo grab for putting out a lineup that was comprised of mostly former LA Galaxy II players? And how much did familiarity play into their clear success on the night?  There are just so many positives to talk about, it was hard to find a negative - not really!  Gyasi Zardes is on the hot seat again and callers have had enough. Is it time for Onalfo to bench Zardes? Will he ever be the same player? Are the expectations too much for him? Where do you sit? With Gyasi or with a growing contingent of Galaxy fans? Next, Josh will walk you through the latest rumors concerning Galaxy target, André-Pierre Gignac. What is the likelihood the Liga MX star would want to come to Los Angeles? And where do Tigres stand in terms of letting him go? What motivation do they have to separate from him and how would he fit into the Galaxy? We've got a bunch of answers for you! Finally, Josh and Britt get you ready for the weekend matchup with Sporting KC. They're the number one team in the Western Conference. But you'd be surprised to know they aren't that far away from the Galaxy. We'll crunch the number for you and get you ready for a great Saturday night soccer game.  Thanks for listening to Corner of the Galaxy. We're glad you trust us to deliver you all your Galaxy news. CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy just pulled out a last minute draw with the Houston Dynamo and they did it with 8 possible starters out of the lineup. Honestly, you should be amazed at how badly they played, and they still got a respectable result against the second best team in the Western Conference. Your hosts, CoG's Josh Guesman and LA Times' Kevin Baxter, talk you through the showdown with Houston as well as focusing on the two big issues that have plagued the Galaxy in 2017 -- the strikers can't score and the team can stay healthy. Gyasi Zardes was missing in action, Jack McInerney only touched the ball 12 times on the night and was totally absent in the playmaking process, and the midfield couldn't hold any possession. The Galaxy only got a single chance in the first half and that was thanks to a great individual piece of skill from Romain Alessandrini and a great hustle play by Emmanuel Boateng. The guys will tell you who impressed them on the night, who should be considered for a starting spot against Colorado, and who is in danger of wasting their chances. Clement Diop will be on the hot seat soon, as Josh pins him for both goals. And Jose Villarreal looked better than he has, but he is directly responsible for the Dynamo pulling ahead. We'll give you the details. Josh and Kevin will also update you on nearly every player who has been injured and what their status is for the upcoming games. There's a ton of people to talk about. So don't be surprised when all those updates take a considerable amount of time. But you won't get a more detailed or up to date look from anyone else. We've got you covered. Finally, the guys answer your questions and get you ready for the game against the Colorado Rapids. With D.C. United's first midweek game of the season coming up this week, we have a jam-packed episode; we also have to do it without the services of Adam, who is off on assignment. In his stead, Jason and Ben break down D.C. United's 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, including starting off by talking about Jose Ortiz's embellishment and Kendall Waston's role in all of it. We also talk about Bill Hamid's penalty and how bad the Whitecaps were in front of goal. We end this segment by breaking down how good Bill Hamid was and how good Ian Harkes was. We then move on to talk about tomorrow's game against Orlando City SC, including how poor they've looked since their great start. We talk about how Cyle Larin and Carlos Rivas run the show, how much rotation they may have to do, and who might start up top for United. For the final segment, we bring back one of our favorite guests, Josie Becker, to talk LA Galaxy. We get into how much better the team is without Jermaine Jones, whether or not Curt Onalfo can keep him on the bench, and how Romain Alessandrini has changed the team. We also ask Josie to gameplan the Galaxy for us, all in-between jokes about British accents and Scientology. Give it a listen! We are also launching the Filibuster Patreon(https://patreon.com/filibuster) today, so go take a look at the things that we want to do and the benefits you could acquire. CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy are coming off a surprising win over the New York Red Bulls. Your hosts, CoG's very own Josh Guesman, will walk you through the win and take a look at some of the positives to come out for the game, as well as raise some red flags around two very important players. There is a lot you can learn from this win and some of it has to do with coaching decisions, while other things have to do with a player not being smart about their situation. Bradley Diallo is the perfect example of that and Josh will discuss who's to blame for his eventual second yellow card. Josh will also take your calls and discuss things like the LA Chargers adding another year to their StubHub Center Rental, we'll talk the struggles with where to play Giovani dos Santos, and we'll also talk the struggling form of Gyasi Zardes. The Galaxy aren't getting goals from the strikers, is it time they make a change? Plus, do you think head coach Curt Onalfo has done everything in his power this season? Is keeping him the right way to go? Or should a decision have already been made to replace him? You'll call. Josh will answer. And everyone will have a good time. Finally, your host will make sure you get an abbreviated game preview as your Galaxy get ready to take on Minnesota United FC on Sunday. Is this the same team that gave up 18 goals in their first four games? We'll explain. Thank you for making us a part of your Galaxy ritual. And where are Giovani dos Santos and Jermaine Jones supposed to be playing? Plus, your hosts will discuss whether or not the Galaxy have already abandoned their "LA Galaxy II is our Future" plan when they went out and signed Jack McInerney. It certainly sent a shot across the bow for some of the younger players. But the big questions will be around Curt Onalfo and whether or not he has survived the storm. Did he do enough against the Union to secure his job for the foreseeable future? Did his formation change show enough initiative to see him around for several more weeks? Did the players' attitudes improve in this game? Has he still lost the team? CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy didn't lose to the Philadelphia Union. So in a lot of ways, that's a step in the right direction. But for the Galaxy, a team with five MLS Cups, it can't be anywhere near good enough. On tonight's show, your hosts, CoG's Josh Guesman and LA Times Soccer Writer Kevin Baxter, take a look back and that optically oppressing game and tell you what they learned. Did the formation change work? And did João Pedro show some significant improvement? Was the formation too defensive? Why didn't the offense get going? We'll answer a bunch of these question and a bunch more of your excellent and insightful tweets and emails in a quick 60-minutes of Galaxy talk tonight. Plus, we're answering your CoG Hotline calls as well. And some of you need to cheer up a bit. Finally, the guys will discuss the upcoming four-game road trip that will start as soon as they're done with their three-game homestand against the Chicago Fire. Will Juninho get a warm welcome back in SoCal? We hope you enjoy the show. Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell your parents! And thanks for talk Galaxy soccer with us! CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy played one of their worst games in recent history when they lost to the defending MLS Cup Champion, Seattle Sounders on Sunday. And in front of a national television audience, they were run off the field looking unprepared and tactically deficient. On today's show, your hosts, CoG's Josh Guesman, and LA Times Soccer Reporter Kevin Baxter discuss the sudden increase in pressure and heat that Galaxy Head Coach, Curt Onalfo is going to feel. They'll also discuss who should be getting the majority of blame and so much more. What would it take to see the Galaxy pull the trigger on replacing Onalfo? It could be as simple as another home loss. But in all actuality, this isn't about wins and losses, this is about whether or not Onalfo still has the support of the team. And as you'll learn from Josh and Kevin, Curt might have lost that already. What will the Front Office do? And should Galaxy President Chris Klein, or General Manager Peter Vagenas also be taking fire from AEG? Where does the blame fall? And if the Galaxy were to pull the plug on the Onalfo Experiment, who would replace him? Are there some good options just waiting for a phone call? The guys will also be taking your numerous CoG Hotline (949.385.2641) calls, as well as your many, many questions coming in via Twitter (@GalaxyPodcast) and email (CorneroftheGalaxy@Gmail.com). They'll also throw in some more news about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but all you'll really care about is the continued conversation of the many reasons why Saturday's loss was so much different than every other game the Galaxy have played. If you needed a reason to go to the game on Saturday, the implications could be huge! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

First, your host Josh Guesman will walk you through the solid victory over 10-man Montreal. How much effect did the red card have on the game? And does that mean it's not a victory that meant something? Did everyone improve over the effort in Vancouver, or is someone on the hot seat? Josh will tell you what he saw from this game and also play you postgame audio from Galaxy Head Coach, Curt Onalfo and Designated Player, Romain Alessandrini. What did these guys have to say after the victory? And Who will Alessandrini be paying at the end of the season? Then, for the real highlight of the show, Nathan Smith calls in to talk about the last couple of months and what he needs to do to keep his starting job. They guys will also talk about nutrition, travel, confidence and a bunch more. Plus, Josh asks Nate what weird things the nutritionists are always trying to get them to consume. Josh will also get you updated on the latest team news. That includes the really important part of the Dan Kennedy retirement, and why Giovani dos Santos and his brother seem to be spending so much tie on social media as of late - don't get out your Dos Dos Santos shirts just yet. Finally, your host will get you all the important information you need to understand what the Galaxy will face in Orlando. Has the doom and gloom been lifted in Whitecapsland? Well, just as one swallow doesn't make a summer, one victory doesn't mean Vancouver Whitecaps have turned their season around. But it's a promising sign. We look back on the 'Caps 4-2 win over LA Galaxy. The highs, the lows, and all the main talking points, blown calls, and questions the match posed. Have the 'Caps finally found their clinical finisher in Fredy Montero? Did the Kekuta Manneh trade finally give the rest of the squad the wake up call they needed? What does the addition of Tony Tchani mean to this team? And who was that in Mati Laba's shirt and what have you done with the real Mati? We'll hear from the LA losers too, from grumpy head coach Curt Onalfo, Jermaine Jones, and Ashley Cole, as LA were (mostly) brutally honest about their shortcomings. One player who never made it past half time was Erik Hurtado. We chat with the striker about his season so far and what it meant to him personally to lose his best friend in the team in Manneh. Our main player interview this week is with Residency alumni Sam Adekugbe, back in Vancouver rehabbing the injury he picked up while on loan with Brighton and Hove Albion. We chat with Sam about his time with English Championship side so far, his current injury, his frustrations, and what the future may hold in store for him. Will it be in Canada or England? And there's still time for I, Ludicrous to feature again in this week's Wavelength section and to look ahead to the CONCACAF Champions League semi-final at home to Tigres on Wednesday. First, Josh and Kevin will give you general thoughts on the Galaxy's win over Real Salt Lake. How much was the team helped by the red card to Kyle Beckerman? How much credit can you give Curt Onalfo for the subs he made in the second half? And how much of the first half problems were because of the lineup decisions? It's a great way to try and wrap your head around what a win against a 10-man side can tell you. The guys will also delve into whether or not "missing starters" can be an excuse for this young team and this young season. They'll also kick the can around the room as they discuss the growing 'keeper controversy. Brian Rowe was leftoff the 18-man roster because of injury. CoG Studios, CA - Your hosts Josh Guesman and LA Times Soccer Writer, Kevin Baxter are back after the first weekend of soccer that counts. And while they won't be recapping the game, there are plenty of things for the guys to talk about -- some might even tie back into the performance on Saturday. First, your hosts turn their attention to Curt Onalfo and a review of his first MLS game as the LA Galaxy's head coach. They'll specifically hone in on his choice to move Sebastian Lletget to the "right back" position and whether or not that was the correct move. How would you judge his performance in his first 90-minutes as the guy in charge? Next, the boys will look at the playing relationship between Romain Alessandrini and Giovani dos Santos. Is there already something to be worried about? Could we have another Robbie Keane and Dos Santos situation? Josh and Kevin talk it out and try and figure out who needs to step up and who needs to defer to the other person. Then the guys will take a deeper look into Kevin's article that dropped just before the game last week. The Galaxy have apparently made an "MLS record offer" to an unknown player. Josh and Kevin will discuss who that offer could be for and who makes the most sense. Is LA on the verge of signing another game-changer? Plus there are even more "rumors" surrounding the Galaxy as John Terry has been linked to the club this summer. Should we take any of this seriously? Or would that signing break a lot of the Galaxy's new rules? Finally, your hosts take a great question from a listener. What made the LA Galaxy great? And do they still have it? Josh and Kevin will both weigh-in on this important question and try to define what the previous LA teams great. Then Josh and Kevin talk about players that must have a big season for this team if LA are to be successful this year. Some of these names are easy to figure out, and some may surprise you. Who do you think needs to have an outstanding season for the team this year? Finally, your hosts will take your questions and throw in any other tidbit of information they have about the team, the league, and why it's important to be truthful. And apparently, you also have some questions. Because this show is filled with your questions and your calls. First, your hosts, Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas, will briefly look back at the game played in Las Vegas. What can we learn from this game and what is the one really positive thing to take away from the first two preseason games of the year? It's something to talk about, if not the ONLY thing to talk about. So what can you expect from the team this year? Josh and Wendy try and figure out what the Galaxy's style could be and why this year's team is a different "beast" than last year's team. There's a youth movement, and with that comes a lot of question marks. And will Curt Onalfo follow Bruce's lead in terms of exciting play? Is that even possible? Then your hosts will look at the much more serious injuries to Gyasi Zardes and Robbie Rogers. Who will replace them and what does this mean? Do the Galaxy have replacements that are capable of filling in? What was the timeline of these injuries and what does that mean the front office knew before making moves to bolster or thin their roster? First, they'll focus on the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with Club Tijuana. What can we learn from 22 players playing 45-minutes each? And can any good be taken from two blown chances and some erratic passing? What did Curt Onalfo or Jelle Van Damme think about the game? Josh and Wendy will do their best to point you in the right direction in terms of players that did well and those that struggled. And it's important to point out that those that struggled still have plenty of time to redeem themselves. Next, they focus on what to look for from Saturday's game against San Jose. The game is in Vegas and it's still relatively early in the preseason. So does that mean you should expect more from this game than the last? How long with the "starters" play? And how what will be some good things to come out of this game? Finally, your hosts end the night by going over a mass of Galaxy News. Including, where would you take your LA Galaxy Valentine, what's up with those Blue Kits, and who are LA Galaxy II's new coaches. But fortunately for us, he has the time to call-in to the show, and he'll talk about everything we can throw at him. Your host, Josh Guesman, will discuss the busy offseason and touch on topics like the coaching hunt, how they decided on Curt Onalfo and how Onalfo's job has changed moving from LA Galaxy II to the senior team. They guys will also touch on losing players like Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard, Mike Magee, Landon Donovan and others and what the philosophy of the team will be going into a brand new season. Klein will also answer questions on why the Galaxy traded AJ DeLaGarza, and what is meant by making the team more flexible. And how a difficult decision like that is made. With the LA Galaxy announcing the signing of Jermaine Jones, Chris will answer questions about age and if the team is worried about the longevity of such a move. Is the team taking a gamble on another set of 35-year old legs? And what is the right "mix" of youth and experience for this LA team? Then Klein will talk about newly signed João Pedro. Did the team have to change the way they scouted to find a 23-year old Portuguese player? And where do the Galaxy see him lining up? And what does that mean for Sebastian Lletget? Finally, Josh and Chris discuss the decision to allow the Chargers to make their temporary home at StubHub Center. Did AEG force this move? How much control do the LA Galaxy have, and is the team concerned about LAFC having a "Soccer Specific" stadium in downtown that they won't be sharing with an NFL team? Don’t blink or you’ll miss something. No, really, you almost certainly missed something this week. Maybe it was the MLS Expansion Draft, in which Atlanta United and Minnesota United grabbed five players each then turned around and started flipping them for players, GAM, TAM and draft picks. Maybe it was the rumor mill, which saw the 2017 expansion sides making noise domestically but also internationally. Andrew and David take a look at the moves, the rumors and the players already in to take a stab at what each team’s first-ever MLS season might look like.   They weren’t the only team grabbing headlines, though, as the LA Galaxy named a new head coach from within then traded for the rights to Jermaine Jones. First, what does Curt Onalfo’s appointment mean for the Galaxy philosophically? Are they going to play the kids? Second, what should they do with their two open Designated Player spots? Could Jones be one of them? Then the guys run through the rest of the rumors — too many to count — and give the list of available MLS free agents a look to see where the league could find veteran value in 2017.   In the mailbag, a parade in Seattle, then some big news on the expansions front. MLS announced the parameters for teams 25-28 on Thursday. What were those parameters? What do they mean?

Next, they'll discuss Major League Soccer in general, as the league looks to be on the cusp of announcing, even more, Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). What does this say about the direction the League is trying to guide teams into? What could that mean for the LA Galaxy and certain Belgian International? And with the Expansion Draft coming up, should you be worried about players being left unprotected? Wendy and Josh will tell you what you need to know going into the draft, and why you should probably just relax. This isn't your Mother and Father's expansion draft. Finally, the remainder of the show is dedicated to discussing the hiring of Pete Vagenas as General Manager, and the likely hiring of Curt Onalfo to be Head Coach. It's a long and important conversation that needs to be had. And it also flows right into the LA Galaxy and their supposed "cost cutting." In this case, being smarter with money is something the LA Galaxy should invest in. And by skewing younger in all forms -- coaching and front office -- they might be on the right track. It's a longer show, but we just had too much to discuss. It's another great episode of Corner of the Galaxy, and we're thrilled that you could join us. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory.

CoG Studios, CA - On tonight's show your hosts Josh Guesman and Jared DuBois are doing their best to get you through the LA Galaxy's bye week. With a FIFA international break, and no senior team matches the guys will focus the largest portion of the show on the USL's LA Galaxy II. On the show Josh will be joined by LA Galaxy II Head Coach Curt Onalfo (@soccer_curt) to discuss their upcoming season opener at StubHub Center on Saturday night. The Game will kick-off at 7:30PM and Alan Gordon will be tailgating with those of you who come early. It should be a great time and a great way to kick off a very fun USL season. After Curt Onalfo gets everyone fired up for the game we'll be talking to LA Galaxy II Captain Jack McBean (@JackMcBean). Jack will talk about his evolution with the LA Galaxy. After all he started with the team when he was just 16 years old and now, five years later, he's one of the hottest forwards going into this LA Galaxy II season. It's a great talk with Jack about the growing pains he's had to go through to get to where he is right now. Along the way the guys will recap the 3-1 win over San Jose. They'll take your CoG Hotline calls and they'll get you updated on the important LA Galaxy news. International Call-ups and the upcoming schedule highlight this news segment. Corner of the Galaxy would also like to acknowledge REDCARDEVENTS.com as they've got a great deal for any coaches or people looking to take a large group to the upcoming April 10th game against the Portland Timbers. On today's show we discuss the upcoming weekend games for LA Galaxy and LA Galaxy II. We're joined by Fox Sports Announcer Mark Rogondino, LA Galaxy II Head Coach, Curt Onalfo, and Corner of the Galaxy writer, Wendy Thomas. It's another packed show for your listening pleasure. Josh may be hosting the show by himself but he's enlisted plenty of talented and smart people to fill in the gaps he's missing. First, we'll take you over the the 3-2 victory over FC Dallas. Did the defense almost ruin the party again? Are there lessons to be learned? And, just like always, we'll have plenty of post game sound so you can hear directly from the players just minutes after the game had concluded. Then Josh is joined by Fox Sports Announcer, and 7-year voice of the LA Galaxy, Mark Rogondino. Mark called the win over FC Dallas and he'll give you his thoughts on the LA Galaxy and what he saw from the booth. Then we'll switch gears and dive into the LA Galaxy II playoff game that takes place on Saturday against the Orange County Blues. Head Coach Curt Onalfo will talk about his teams' win over Sacramento last week and what he's expecting from his team at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on Saturday. This should be a great game and it's not going to be one you'll want to miss. Finally, to get us through the standings, the schedule and the big game on Sunday night for the LA Galaxy, Josh is joined by Corner of the Galaxy Writer, Wendy Thomas. Wendy may be making her debut on the podcast, but she's bringing pure LA Galaxy knowledge to the table and will get you fully prepared for the Seattle clash. It's an absolutely packed show filled with all the LA Galaxy goodness you've come to expect from this show. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory and Drop City Yacht Club
