When looking at industrial cybersecurity, more attention is being paid to how workers are logging in to access critical machinery, software or data. And according to Trustwave Threat Intelligence's recent Manufacturing Threat Landscape report, 45 percent of attacks experienced by manufacturers stemmed from the bad guys accessing credentials.Whether by utilizing brute-force tactics, submitting fake support tickets, or purchasing logins on the Dark Web, this seems to prove that hackers would much rather log in than break in. The report also cited the rise of Initial Access Brokers, or groups that focus specifically on obtaining and selling log-in data to other hackers. One example cited by Trustwave saw an IAB offering access to a leading steel manufacturer for just over $60,000. Unfortunately, this is not a unique circumstance, which is why we're talking to David Cottingham, president of rf IDEAS to weigh in on the ongoing challenges surrounding secure access throughout the OT environment.Listen as we discuss:The importance of simplifying security processes to keep people engaged with them. Why no manufacturer is too small to be a target for credential-based attacks.Overcoming the bad behaviors that can result from operations personnel dealing with over 25 passwords.Avoiding punitive actions surrounding people-based security vulnerabilities. Why dual factor authentication strategies are key to ongoing security developments. Best practices for mobile device use.How VPNs, firewalls and password wallets are simultaneously solutions and vulnerabilities. To catch up on past episodes, you can go to Manufacturing.net, IEN.com or MBTmag.com. Since the start of the pandemic, global digitization has accelerated at breakneck speed, and as we have seen in the news, cyber-attacks are impacting more and more businesses and individuals than ever before. This month, we ask how the Essential Eight is working for Australian organisations and discuss recent news that the federal government is set to mandate the Essential Eight cyber security controls for all 98 non-corporate Commonwealth entities. This comes four years after they were released as an evolution on the Top 4 mitigation strategies – the key strategies from the framework of 35 strategies developed as a leading set of practices by the Australian Signals Directorate over a decade ago. What does this mean for your organisation and cyber security readiness? How does this align with the other standards for cyber security practice and of course, cyber security regulations and legislation? Does the Essential Eight offer an approach to cyber security beyond government and large business? In episode thirteen of ‘OzCyber Unlocked', AustCyber's US Ecosystem Development Lead Michelle Mosey speaks to Suzy Clarke (Executive GM for Security at accounting software company Xero), Keith Howard (Group CISO at the Commonwealth Bank), Jennifer Stockwell (National Cyber Security Principal at Telstra) and Andrew Pade (General Manager Cyber Defence Operations at Commonwealth Bank and former Head of Cyber Security at the Reserve Bank of Australia). This month, our ‘cyber spotlight' features David Cottingham from Airlock Digital. A MUST-LISTEN EPISODE! A MUST-SEE YOUTUBE VIDEO! Watch the video: https://youtu.be/1p-Qcpnkwhg David Bertram & David Cottingham of iconic brand WRIGLEY MEDIA GROUP join the Brandology™ Podcast team in this discussion of their legendary historical brand, WRIGLEY. Wrigley is a brand that has lasted centuries and is recognized around the world. We call Wrigley a “poster-child for longevity of a strong and powerful brand”.  They explain how the Leadership team of WRIGLEY MEDIA GROUP now includes an Emmy Award-winning producer, an Emmy-nominated writer, a former film animator (“Spider Man 3” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy), a producer who’s worked with DreamWorks/Walt Disney Pictures, a creative director whose credits include HGTV’s Fixer Upper, plus top-tier marketing and advertising talent, editors, photographers, production crew and more. Wrigley Media Group has set its vision on growth and bringing Hollywood to the Midwest; namely, Lexington, Kentucky. They are surely soon to be a challenger against big names like TURNER BROADCASTING and WARNER BROTHERS. David and David explain the group is in its 20th year overall. At the helm is MisDee Wrigley Miller, granddaughter to Philip Wrigley, longtime owner of THE CHICAGO CUBS and former CEO of WRIGLEY Corp. (Wrigley FIELD AND WRIGLEY GUM). The female Wrigley founder purchased Hillcroft Farm in Paris and moved to Kentucky in 2001 as a result of her passion for horses. She is a world-class equestrian competitor. They rebranded the famous Post Time Productions as Wrigley Media Group in 2017. Wrigley Media has developed Feature Films involving famous actresses like Drew Barrymore. They have brought in magnificent talent from Hollywood, New York, and Europe to assemble a leadership team whose media production credentials rival the best in the business. Their credits include hit primetime productions TRAVEL CHANNEL, DIY NETWORK, HGTV and FOOD NETWORK. Their team has worked on hit shows including “Man v. Food,” “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations,” “Expedition Unknown” and more. David & David play a crushing game of Brand Culture Trivia against Host Mark Mosher and their business acumen and wisdom and great sense of humor emanate throughout the episode. The release of two new factions makes for a great excuse to get together and record a new episode, right? You would think so, so we decided to do this at the last minute -- apparently Franch doesn't do "last minute." That's okay, Mikhail has an opinion about everything and carries the show because he actually plays the game of XWing (where as Gordon has played just *once* since the last episode). We also spend time with our producer David Cottingham, who shares with us how his X-Wing 2.0 experience has been so far. 14:00 - X-WING | 1:13:00 - PRODUCER DAVE
