In this wild episode, the TruVue Podcast crew dives into Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist, the gritty Peacock series that throws viewers into the chaos following Muhammad Ali's 1970 comeback fight in Atlanta. We're bringing the barbershop talk to the box office as we discuss all the unexpected twists, high-stakes drama, and a heist that brings out some "Chicken Shyte" moments you won't believe. Is the hype worth it, or did they serve us a steaming pile of "Chicken Shyte"? The story follows Gordon "Chicken Man" Williams, played by Kevin Hart, as he hustles his way into a high-stakes after-party that goes sideways when masked men pull off a million-dollar heist. Suspicions fly and deals are cut as Chicken Man works with Detective J.D. Hudson, played by Don Cheadle, to uncover who double-crossed whom. With Samuel L. Jackson also in the mix, the stakes go way beyond the dollar signs. It's not about the review; it's the conversation with the crew as we cut through the plot, dissect the real story versus what they served up, and drop our NSFW thoughts on everything from crime capers to how this heist flick stacks up in the era of the 'Black Mecca.' Don't miss our take on if this one's a knockout or just a bunch of "Chicken Shyte." Homicide Detective J. Warner Wallace joins Kyle and Joel to talk about how he investigated Jesus' death as a cold case detective, his journey to becoming an apologist, and more cool cop stories. J. Warner Wallace worked as a cold case homicide detective before finding Jesus. Once he retired from police work he went on to become an apologist and author. His latest book is "Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters in a World That Rejects the Bible." Go to Inkl.com/bee to get an additional 25% off a year subscription Kyle and Joel find out how working surveillance played a large part for J. Warner's journey to becoming a Christian. J. Warner goes into what reading the new testament was like for him. Kyle asks the tough questions such as if J. Warner has fired his gun or if he likes Jesus. Joel takes the role of book promoter by constantly bringing up J. Warner's book. J. Warner comments on the Kyle Rittenhouse case and why it was a bad idea from the beginning. In the Subscriber Portion, Joel finds out if becoming a Christian changed J. Warner's police work. J. Warner talks about his views on finding an audience. Kyle sparks a great topic with police profiling and some probable causes for it. As always we end the conversation with the ever inspiring 10 questions.
We don't possess the original New Testament papyrus scrolls. They deteriorate too quickly to have survived this long. So how do we know that the manuscripts we have now are accurate representations of the originals? Is it reasonable to believe that they have been corrupted and embellished to falsely say that Jesus rose from the dead? Detective J. Warner Wallace joins Frank to answer those questions. He cites a technique that law enforcement uses to ensure that evidence from murder or any crime isn't corrupted. It's called the Chain of Custody. Is there a chain of custody that secures the evidence about the identity of Jesus from the time of the eyewitnesses all the way to the fourth century when manuscript evidence was more abundant? Listen to find out. This is fascinating! Subscribe on Apple Podcast: http://bit.ly/CrossExamined_Podcast Rate and review! Thanks!!! I don't know about you, but I'm a product of the 90s. Not a 90's baby. I was alive, talking and living in the 90s. I spent my teenage years in the 90s. It was the golden era for hip-hop. The culture found its way into every part of pop culture at that time. When I think about it, everything from music to television seemed a lot better because of how influential hip-hop was becoming at that time. This one tv show, NYPD Undercover was must-see tv for a kid like me at the time. It was a show that was totally built for a 90s generation that was becoming more tied to the rap world than ever before. It wasn't just cops and robbers. It was a show full of Black and Brown faces who dressed like me, talked like me and dealt with the same inner-city issues I dealt with at the time. One of the stars of the show was Malik Yoba. Yoba became one of the standout young Black actors at the time due to his amazing performance as Detective J.C. Williams. His ability to connect with the hip-hop crowd made him a star. After the show ended in 1999, Yoba would go on to star in movies like Copland and Cool Runnings. You can still catch him on the small screen, but don't be shocked if you also spot him at your local dispensary. A cannabis consumer since he was a teen, Yoba is a open advocate for legalization and the participation of Black faces in this new industry. Suppose none of the New Testament survived to this day. Would we know anything about Jesus and his teachings? Cold-Case Homicide Detective J. Warner Wallace joins Dr Frank Turek and Dr Sean McDowell to show you how. Drawing from his new book, Person of Interest, Wallace shows the unparalleled impact Jesus has had on culture in six different areas: literature, art, science, music, education, and even other world religions. But what does that actually prove? What if every copy of Star Wars were to be destroyed? Could we recreate the classic movie without using any footage from Lucasfilm? Could we reproduce the story from literature, art, science, music or education?Popularity isn't divinity.Show Me STAR WARS, without Showing Me STAR WARShttps://youtu.be/PysVc2GzNKYProving Jesus Without the Biblehttps://crossexamined.org/proving-jesus-without-the-bible/Why Jesus Matters Today More Than Ever: A Conversation with Detective J. Detective J. Warner Wallace listened to a pastor talk about Jesus and wondered why anyone would think Jesus was a person of interest. He was skeptical of the Bible, but he'd investigated several "no-body, missing person" cases in which there was no crime scene, no physical evidence, and no victim's body. He successfully identified and convicted the killers in these cases, even without evidence from the scene. Could the historical life and actions of Jesus be investigated in the same way? Could the truth about Jesus be uncovered even without a body or a crime scene? J. Warner joins us for a faith-building conversation you don't want to miss!
