On this episode of The LeadUp Podcast, Mike is joined by special guest, host of The Quote of the Day Show, Sean Croxton! Mike and Sean discuss a multitude of topics including expanding your self-image, how to let go of excuses, improving your commitment, and dealing with anxiety. Sean shares about his career as a Health Coach and how it made him realize that a lot of people use a Be, Do, Have formula to achieve success when really people need to focus on the way they think and feel in order to chase their true goals. Mike and Sean discuss how we can't lead well if we don't think and feel well and how that relates to long-term commitment and action. Sean specializes in money mindset and provides us with an insight into some of the most important practices you need to be implementing into your daily routines. Sean speaks about some of his favorite podcasts and book and makes a special note to Life Unlocked by Dr. Srinivasan Pillay as chapter 3 takes you through how most people want success but they don't even realize that they fear success. People fear the unknown and success is full of the unknown. They talk about how impactful mindfulness is and how your brain is a belief confirmation machine and will shape your reality based on what you believe to be true. Sean Croxton is a Certified Transformational Neurocoach who uses brain science to help online entrepreneurs, coaches, and course creators break through their mental blocks so they can take action, be seen, and stand out in a crowded niche. Sean's career online spans over a decade as one of the first YouTubers and podcasters in the holistic health space. As the founder of Underground Wellness, he hosted over 300 health-based interviews on his UW Radio podcast and created 7 popular online health events, including The Digestion Sessions and The Depression Sessions. In 2015, Sean stepped away from the health industry to pursue his dreams in the personal development space. Today’s episode might be a little bit different than all of the previous ones. Still, it is as insightful as ever, especially because I am joined by the mastermind behind the Keto Kamp movement. I am humbled to be joined by Sean Croxton, a podcast host, author, entrepreneur, and prosperity teacher. I followed his growth and career for the past 8 years, most especially when he still hosts the Underground Wellness Radio, one of the internet’s most popular health podcasts.   During his seven years with Underground Wellness, Sean penned the still-popular Dark Side of Fat Loss ebook, started the JERF (Just Eat Real Food) movement, and hosted seven online summit events, including The Thyroid Sessions, Digestion Sessions, and The Depression Sessions.   Now, Sean is the host of The Quote of The Day Show, the #1 daily motivational podcast, featuring short inspirational teachings from the best of the best speakers. He is also the creator of Money Mind Academy, an 8-week course that will completely change your relationship with money.   In this episode, Sean shares the story of how his hardwork and determination got him to where he is today. He also explained the science behind developing a habit while we dive deep into physiology, neurocardiology, brain chemistry and how it is connected with your keto diet and fasting. Tune in! In this episode, you'll discover:   [00:55] Sean Croxton, the early years Sean’s mother worked three jobs. By the time he wakes up in the morning, his mom is already at work. When he goes to bed at night, his mom is still at work.  “If I didn’t have that experience of living at the poverty line, I probably wouldn’t have the value that I have on abundance.” His early years was a great learning experience for him. It showed him the value of earning money.  It showed him the freedom of earning money. It showed him that in order to have more money, you gotta do more service.   [8:18] The audio clip that helped changed Sean’s life  In November of 2009, his friend, Antonio, sent him an audio clip of John Demartini. “The amount of money that you have will always be in direct proportion to the quality and quantity of the service you provide.”   [17:10] After graduating from college, Sean became a personal trainer. His uncle and his aunt were his biggest influences on why he took health in college.  As a personal trainer, Sean had to build up the courage to talk to people when suffering with social anxiety. He had his first panic attack while doing some personal training. His doctor prescribed him Prozac but what he really wanted was Paxil. While training his last client, he found himself in the midst of a “Prozac-induced” panic attack. His social anxiety isn't completely gone and Sean's ok with that. He prefers to call it introversion. [22:32] Back in 2008, Sean launched his first show, Underground Wellness Radio. The podcast ran for 7 years and he released 348 episodes over this period of time. Surprising to most, in 2015 Sean closed up shop with his brand Underground Wellness. “Passions have seasons, and all seasons eventually come to an end.” - Lisa Nichols Sean felt that his passion for interviewing health experts is over.    [26:08] The importance of passion and loving what you do for a living If you are not living according to your highest values, it means you are not really living.  You are living by social idealisms. You are living by something outside of you. Life is too short for that. A lot of us are trapped in the ‘how’ When you are fully aligned with your values, the ‘how’ just shows up.   [27:23] Sean's motivational influences after shutting down Underground Wellness Sean was super deep into reading books by John F. Demartini.  Books by Demartini: How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven   The Breakthrough Experience The Gratitude Effect The Values Factor   He also read books by Bob Proctor. Books by Bob Proctor:   You Were Born Rich The Art of Living   Sean dived deep into physiology, neuroscience and brain chemistry. On his new YouTube Channel, Mind Kamp, he flipped the focus to personal development with a sprinkle of health.   [31:22] Neurocardiology: Interaction between the brain and the heart In the communication between the brain and the heart, 90% of it goes from the heart to the brain. There’s a little brain inside our hearts that stores information, memories, personalities, etc. Our hearts are our point of attraction.  Heart rate variability is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between heartbeats. We don’t want these to be to low. That would mean we are unhealthy.  Emotions dictate your heart rate variability.  Measure your heart rate variability through: Oura Ring emWave2 [34:11] Adding love and gratitude into your keto diet and fasting Meditation comes a long way. emWave2: emWave 2 helps with the analysis of HRV that reflects heart-brain interaction and autonomic nervous system dynamics, which are particularly sensitive to changes in your emotional state. emWave2 technology is based on "the coherence breakthrough". Coherence is a state of synchronization between your heart, brain and autonomic nervous system which has been proven to have numerous mental, emotional and physical benefits. [36:44] Your brain is the record of the past The past is literally composed of electrical current that flows in your brain.  These electrical thoughts become your biochemical feelings.  How to change these wirings? 1. Relax Get out of the high beta brain wave state.  Calm down and get into the alpha creative state.  2. Do your meditation.  AND MUCH MORE!   Resources from this episode:  Email me at ben@ketokamp.com Join the The Keto Kamp Inner Circle Get The Keto Kickstart Guide for FREE To know more about Sean Croxton, visit his website here. The subject of today's interview is something I'm super passionate about. On this podcast we're all about questioning our programming and conditioning and redefining ourselves, our beliefs, and our lives accordingly. Today's guest, Sean Croxton talked about success, not in terms of getting what you want, but rather, by focusing on what you're willing to give and who you're willing to become to get it. We covered moving through fear, doubt, and indecision, creating unlimited success (defined by you!) from the inside out, and letting go of the "us vs them" mentality. That last point is huge right now, as our social, media, and political climates are massively reinforcing "us vs them." We talked about how passions have seasons and he even dropped some brain science on us. This episode is straight forward, practical and super motivating. Enjoy! About Sean Croxton: Sean Croxton is an author, entrepreneur, and money mindset expert on a mission to teach 1 million people how to discover and develop the hidden powers lying dormant within. A former personal trainer and health coach, Sean began his journey in 2007 when he founded Underground Wellness, one of the first health-based channels on YouTube. His “edu-taining” video content quickly gained popularity due to his unique ability to make complicated matters of health easy and fun for viewers to understand. In 2008, he launched Underground Wellness Radio, a Top 20 iTunes health podcast featuring weekly interviews with experts, authors, and health practitioners. The program ran for 7 years, with 348 episodes on all things real food, clean living, and functional medicine. Sean is the author of The Dark Side of Fat Loss: Lessons from the Underground. He is the originator of the popular JERF (Just Eat Real Food) brand. And he has hosted and produced seven online summit events, including The Thyroid Sessions, The Digestion Sessions, and The Depression Sessions. In late 2015, Sean decided to step away from the health space in order to pursue his passion for personal development, dedicating himself to studying and teaching the timeless works of Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, Bob Proctor, and other success writers. His latest podcast, The Quote of The Day Show, features 5-10 minute clips from motivational and inspirational talks from the likes of Les Brown, Lisa Nichols, Tony Robbins, and more. You can catch a new episode of The Quote of The Day Show Monday thru Saturday on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play. In this episode, Sean shares: 1. Stepping out of the ego (identity) box 2. Allowing your job to be your investor instead of your enemy 3. You have to be something before you can do something (the opposite approach to success than most are taking)

I want to share a fabulous discussion that I had recently with Dr. Michael Ruscio about women's hormones and how gut bacteria can have such a tremendous effect on them! He is a functional medicine practitioner with an emphasis in gut health. He also specializes in autoimmune, thyroid, and digestive disorders. He is a wealth of knowledge and provided many great insights. Listen to our discussion on “The Hormone to Gut Connection” Key points from our interview include: Pylori - dangerous or protective? Pylori and Hashimoto's thyroid autoimmunity connection How Hashimoto's may be improved with H. Meet Dr. Michael Ruscio Dr. Ruscio gives smart, busy people suffering from symptoms like daily bloating, constant fatigue, and unexplained weight gain, simple steps to start living a health, enjoyable life again, no matter how long they've been suffering. Magdalena talked about the significant health crisis she went through as a result of a highly stressful career in advertising. A high profile and demanding lifestyle, stressful in every way! Mentally stressful, never in the same time zone, lack of sleep, hotel, and fast food on the run. This eventually ended in complete adrenal fatigue, autoimmune conditions, estrogen dominance, and even depression. But she was able to heal herself and go into complete remission from her health issues through truly using "food as medicine". She adopted a number of key nutrition principles as well as her signature method of cooking for hormone balance. In the interview she discusses: Anchoring and her three-legged stool analogy about healing the gut and liver, and stabilizing sugar levels The importance of an elimination diet (she lives gluten, dairy, and soy-free) How eating the right foods is key to cooking for hormone balance Her "day in the life of cooking for hormone balance"... This starts with warm water with a squeeze of lemon and apple cider vinegar, and includes a PFF breakfast (Protein, Fat, and Fiber) Her weight loss secret! Quick and easy five-minute lunch and dinner selections I loved the discussion, which included her back story, coming from a communist country and living without the luxuries of life. Her family had to improvise, and she learned to improvise, too. Along with some of those stories she also shares with us the "roots" of her health problems, going back to her birth and early childhood. I encourage you to watch or listen in...I think you'll enjoy it! Oh...and after watching the video don't forget...Magdalena has a special gift for you... a free cooking workshop where you will learn much more about healing foods and preparing easy, nutritious and hormone balancing meals! About Magdalena Wszelaki Magdalena Wszelaki is the founder of Hormones Balance, a nutrition coaching practice. Her practice is dedicated to helping women rebalance their hormones with nutritional and lifestyle changes. She is a certified nutrition coach, speaker, educator, and a soon-to-be-published cookbook author. Her hormonal health journey encompassed grappling with Graves' and Hashimoto's Disease (autoimmune conditions causing thyroid failure), adrenal fatigue, depression, and estrogen dominance. Today she lives a symptoms-free awesome life and teaches women how to accomplish the same in her online programs and education.  Dr Anna Cabeca talks to Robin Nielsen about PCOS, excess androgen and the symptoms that relate to it.

Soon thereafter in 2008, he launched his first podcast Underground Wellness Radio, on which he interviewed authors and experts in the alternative health space. The program ran for 7 years with over 10 million downloads and 348 episodes about all things real food and functional medicine with a sprinkle of personal development on the side. During his seven years with Underground Wellness (UW), Sean penned his still-popular Dark Side of Fat Loss ebook, started the JERF (Just Eat Real Food) movement, and hosted seven online summit events, including The Thyroid Sessions, Digestion Sessions, and The Depression Sessions. In late 2015, Sean walked away from his thriving UW brand to create a new movement in the world of personal development and the science of mind. The nerd in him couldn’t stop wondering what makes people do what they do and not do the things they really want to do.
