Episode 186 is on the scene! Brandon Carr is an 18 year old  racer from the UK who is looking to make his mark in the United States. He's won British Karting championships including the prestigious Kartmasters Championship. For the past couple of years, he has set his sights on becoming a NASCAR driver. His journey has taken him from the dirt tracks driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports to victory lane in the first IHRA Stock Car Series Pro Late Model event at Pulaski County Motorsports Park. Brandon joins us this week to talk about his unique journey from across the pond and the adjustments he had to make visiting some of the South's toughest short tracks for the first time. He also tells us how he hooked up with Setzer Development, which Daytona 500 winning Crew Chief has been his mentor and some advise he has received from Kaden Honeycutt. Speaking of Honeycutt, he made history over the weekend by not only winning his first ARCA Menards and Craftsman Truck Series events of his career at Watkins Glen on Friday but capturing a sweep of both the CARS Tour Pro and Late Model Stock events at Ace Speedway on Saturday. Episode 184 is on the scene and we welcome Budweiser Limited Sportsman competitor from South Boston Speedway Brian Rundstrom Jr to the show. We discuss capturing his first win recently at the speedway, his upbringing in the sport and much more!Carson Hocevar captured his first Cup Series win of his career on Sunday at Talladega and his celebration afterwards will be talked about for years to come. We discuss how long it will be before it is banned, whether or not he has moved into the superstar category and the other storylines coming out of the event.The CARS Tour event at Caraway took place a day later than scheduled because of rain but it certainly didn't lack excitement in either the Pro Late Model or Late Model divisions. Episode 181 is on the scene and we end our 2026 Kulwicki Driver Development Program Series with third generation star Penn Sauter. Penn who is the son of former Craftsman Truck Series Champion Johnny Sauter and grandson of the legendary Midwestern competitor Jim talks to us about his upcoming season growing up in a racing family and if he faces any pressure to live up to the Sauter name and reputation. Kristian Armstead grew up in Michigan but has settled in nicely in the South Boston area of Virginia racing in the Hornets Division. Last Saturday during Danville Toyota Race Night, him and his small team of three's hard work paid off with his first win ever at the speedway. Kristian joins us to discuss his career so far, what it means for him to win at a speedway that has seen so many legends do the same and overcoming some of the faster cars to claim his first win of what he hopes to be many. Julian was at SoBo on Saturday and the boys reviewed the other racing action from the Halifax County facility. From Trevor Ward picking up twin second place finishes to Peyton Sellers and Johnny Layne adding to their impressive career win totals in Late Models and Pure Stocks respectively to Jacob Derrick's late pass on Drew Dawson to win in Limiteds, it was quite the opening day for three of the track's four divisions. We spoke with Bobby McCarty following his win in the second race. For McCarty, it has been a struggle the last few seasons getting his new team up and going and yes, there were times he thought it was over for him. Saturday proved otherwise by returning to victory lane just like Lee Pulliam did two weeks ago. The SMART Modified Tour invaded Dominion Raceway on Saturday in a race absolutely dominated by Carson Loftin who grabbed his first win of 2026. We discuss Denny Hamlin's day which started out dominant but ended up with an on track confrontation with Ryan Blaney, a vibration and coming up second behind Elliott. We debate if Ty Gibbs is the hottest driver on the circuit with his fifth straight event finishing no worse than sixth, the Bubba Wallace vs Carson Hocevar incident and whether this race exceeded expectations. We break down the tour's crown jewel event with comments from King Ron Silk, Stephen Kopcik who finished second for the second straight year and fourth place Jack Baldwin as he describes what being a brand new girl dad is like.Our Kulwicki Driver Development Underbird Series continues with two more underbirds. 2025 Hickory Motor Speedway Late Model champion Michael Bumgarner and 2025 Late Model Champion at Wake County Speedway champion Carson Haislip joins the show this week. These two North Carolina drivers are taking short track racing by storm and they are looking to make the next steps in their careers while representing the 1992 Winston Cup Series Champion. Lee Pulliam took the lead late in Saturday's Late Model Feature at South Boston Speedway and never let loose for his first win in over five years. We spoke to a very emotional Pulliam afterwards as he shared his raw feelings about the win. We also discuss young Conner Weddell's outstanding runner up finish and more about the race.Tyler Reddick overcame electrical problems, nearly crashing with Chris Buescher and cooling problems to tame the lady in black at Darlington on Sunday. Episode 154 is on the scene with third generation racer Bryan Reedy.   His grandfather, Orvil, raced in the Busch Series (Xfinity) & won many races while father, Tink, raced to championships at Franklin County and Motor Mile Speedway so you think he would have pressure to follow in their footsteps. Bryan discusses that legacy, why it's been nine years since he last tried running at Martinsville like he will attempt to do so at the end of the month, how long a team like his gets ready for such a big event at Martinsville, what he's been doing lately and what his most treasured moment in racing has been so far. The CARS Tour race from South Boston created a lot of chatter. From Landen Lewis getting bumped out of the way to changing a tire without a one lap penalty to Connor Hall pulling a Dale Earnhardt from Daytona in 97' by getting back into a heavily damaged car to earn points to the Mini Tyrrell and Tristan McKee incident, a lot went down on Saturday and we haven't brought up Kaden Honeycutt ending a multi year winless drought in tour LMSC competition and Parker Eatmon nearly landing on pit lane. The debates are running wild both online and on the podcast. Julian also has a word with the top five finishers from Saturday's at times controversial stop on the CARS Tour. The SMART Modified Tour has set their five driver playoff field after Ryan Newman's Dominion Raceway win over the weekend. We discuss who may have the edge in the championship fight and who has the edge in this weekend's return trip to Franklin County Raceway. If there wasn't enough tire controversy in the CARS Tour race, the Cup race in Bristol had 500 times more controversy. Did the tires giving out produce a better race because of it or is it still masking a deeper problem? Julian caught up with some of the top finishers during his Darlington trip while Jody and him play Gas It Up or Pump The Brakes on who's in trouble in the playoffs after the first race. We break down the CARS Tour race from Florence with exclusive interviews and weigh in on who has the advantage between Connor Hall and Landen Lewis in the remaining three races. We also discuss the local ringers that made up positions 3-5 on Friday and Keelan Harvick's Pro Late Model win. The SMART Modified Tour is coming off its beach trip where they raced at Coastal Plains on Friday and Carteret County on Saturday. This week's episode of Deez Lug Nutz is dedicated to the memory of Virginia Austin who passed away last Thursday.Episode 144 is on the scene with Boo Carlisle who is filling in for Julian as co-host this week alongside usual co-host Jody Freeman. Both hosts are coming back from the beach and Jody explains why he is down a cylinder following his beach trip.Caraway Speedway held two massive events during Fourth of July week. The zMAX CARS Tour made their traditional midweek visit and it was Jared Fryar who took his second win of the season and shockingly, it is the first time he has won multiple races during a season on tour. The boys discuss the incident involving Mini Tyrrell, Landen Lewis and Landon Huffman, Ronnie Bassett Jr continuing to show consistency on tour, preparing to race for $50,000 in a few weeks and some of the other stories coming from Caraway. The Pro Late Model event was chaotic featuring multiple red flags and a black flag late in the race. It was survival of the fittest amongst the leaders.  When the dust settled it was Brandon Lopez who picked up his first career CARS Tour Pro Late Model win. Lopez joins us this week to discuss this and gives us a peek at his racing background and what his sometimes teammate Kaden Honeycutt told him during the race on Saturday.Danny Bohn picked up his fourth Tour Type Modified win at Caraway on Saturday in dominating fashion. It was his first SMART Tour win there and his second of his career. Bohn picked up a new ride at the last event at Franklin County Raceway with Andretti Racing and he joined us this week to tell us about that and what else he's been up to. The boys also discuss the event itself and the stories coming out of it!Franklin County Raceway had a big  event this past weekend honoring Petey Caldwell. Episode 135 is on the scene and while most of the Mid Atlantic did not race due to rain, the zMAX CARS Tour and Ace Speedway dodged the rain drops just enough to get the entire Late Model race in and over half the Pro Late Model show in to make that official. Landen Lewis picked up his second career win on tour on Saturday and he joins us this week from the shops of Kevin Harvick Incorporated. We discuss racing vs the rain, having legendary crew chief Rodney Childers in his pit stall, the continued support given to him by Hall of Famer Ron Hornaday and what has been the key to getting this team within five points of Connor Hall in the championship points race.Speaking of which, we give exclusive breakdowns of both the Late Model and Pro Late model event from Ace, should penalties had been assessed to some teams who had flat tires that brought out yellows, and give a state of the Tour following the first third of the season with three drivers separated by five points in the title hunt. The Cup Series ran at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday and we review the roller coaster day that saw Joey Logano end up in victory lane from his 27th starting spot. Does Penske Racing seem to have gotten their groove back with two straight wins? How about this racing we see at Texas? Did the boys like what they saw? Nathan Byrd obtained his career best finish on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving for Young's Motorsports on Friday at Texas.  The Arizona turned Indiana native joins us to tell us about his career that started off as male cheerleader with racing not being on his radar. His radar eventually led him to karting and after running many disciplines of racing, he had dreams of running the Indy 500 which his family either sponsored entries or owned them. We discuss the bump and run with Luke Baldwin, his pre-race phone call with Carson Loftin, last second spotters, what his fellow classmates think of his success and how much he cares about it and who some of his influences are. We go to Cordele and talk about the CARS Tour maiden voyage to the land of Watermelons. Connor Hall and Mini Tyrrell stole the show at the front of the field with Hall coming out victorious adding to his ridiculous season average of 1.3.
