181: I'm excited to have Steve Hodgdon on the show today. He's a smart guy with years of experience in land investing and real estate. Rather than overpromising, Steve gives straight-shooting advice about the real complexities of this business.(Show Notes: REtipster.com/181)We have a free-flowing conversation about some of the less glamorous but oh-so important fundamentals—doing your homework on deals, choosing partners wisely, and how to leverage technology to make better decisions. His personal journey took a powerful turn in early 2014 when he tragically lost his 15-year-old daughter, Zoi, to suicide. Over the last decade, Eric has dedicated himself to transforming the way we approach grief. Through coaching and training, he has empowered thousands of grieving individuals to overcome the mental hurdles that impede progress, enabling them to navigate the formidable challenges that accompany loss. Abby Mercado and Kristyn Hodgdon are the co-founders of Rescripted. Both are mothers to IVF girl/boy twins. I'm honored to have them joining me to talk about "Rescripting" fertility prescriptions and the community they have created at Rescripted. In our discussion, you'll hear how sex ed is broken (we need to be teaching so much more than putting a condom on a banana), how 40% of women don't know what ovulation is, and all about their inspiring passion to change the way people learn and talk about fertility and reproduction. Here's what Abby has to say: "We went with the name re-scripted because we're going to create something new together. For us it was all about going back to basics. We cover fertility and pregnancy loss, and our future is really exciting. As we write, as we record videos, as we record podcasts, as we continue to put out media.... women really need answers as it relates to their reproductive, hormonal, and sexual health and wellness. So that is us, and that's what we're proud to cover." Thank you for joining me, Abby and Kristyn! I love what you're doing, and so excited to share this conversation. Eric Hodgdon knows first-hand the struggle that grips us after the loss of a loved one. After losing his 15-year old daughter Zoi to suicide in early 2014, Eric was frustrated with grief support resources that focused on survival as being the endgame of a grief journey. For the past 9 years, Eric has made it his mission to change the way we approach grief support. He has coached and trained thousands of grieving women and men on how to navigate one of the worst setbacks in life. Eric has spoken on a TEDx Stage, authored an Amazon bestselling book “A Sherpa Named Zoi” and now works 1-on-1 with his clients, helping them to survive first, get back up and ultimately live beyond the loss of their loved one.
