Baptiste Robert (aka Elliot Alderson aka @fs0c131y (https://twitter.com/fs0c131y) ) has developed somewhat of a cult personality and following in India i.e. ever since he flagged data security and privacy issues within COVID-19 contact tracing Aarogya Setu app and the much wider Aadhaar ecosystem.   We catch up with Baptiste to learn his take on the Government's tricky relationship with citizens' data, the philosophy (and process) behind his work as an ethical hacker, and his thoughts on the privacy debate raging within India and the world. Since it was launched last month, the Aarogya Setu app has raised several concerns. Not only about privacy, but also about the legality of making it mandatory. Earlier this week, the former Supreme Court Judge B N Srikrishna called the government mandating the app "utterly illegal". In this episode, we take a deep dive into the legal and privacy concerns around the app. First, Deeptiman Tiwary talks about how the guidelines mandating the app were issued by the government and what the consequences would be if an employee doesn't download the app. Then Apurva Vishwanath, explains why Justice B N Srikrishna called the government's mandate illegal. We also speak to Karishma Mehrotra about the security issues that have been highlighted by the ethical hacker Elliot Alderson and the latest protocols issued by the the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. And finally, we talk to Malavika Raghavan, public policy researcher and lawyer, about the various privacy concerns that the app raises and the steps that the government can take regarding them.

Mr. Robot é uma série de televisão dramática americana criada por Sam Esmail.É estrelada por Rami Malek como Elliot Alderson, um engenheiro de cibersegurança e hacker que sofre de transtorno de ansiedade social e depressão clínica. Alderson é recrutado por um anarquista insurrecional conhecido como "Mr. Robot", interpretado por Christian Slater, para se juntar a um grupo de hacktivistas. Deggans watches a lot of television, but in a crowded 2015 field he felt Mr. Robot stood out from the rest. No spoilers, but Deggans has seen the first episodes of S2 and maintains high hopes for the series going forward. In this exclusive interview we talk with Composer Mac Quayle about his electronic score for the hit show, Mr. Robot which starts its second season on July 13, 2016. Elliot Alderson is a young cyber-security engineer living in New York, who assumes the role of a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot meets a mysterious anarchist known as "Mr. Robot" who recruits Elliot to join his team of hackers, "fsociety". Elliot, who has a social anxiety disorder and connects to people by hacking them, is intrigued but uncertain if he wants to be part of the group. The show follows Mr. Robot's attempts to engage Elliot in his mission to destroy the corporation Elliot is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs that are running (and ruining) the world.

The central premise around the second episode of season 1 of Mr. Robot is whether you are a one or a zero. In computer parlance, one’s and zero’s are what comprise the basis of binary code. In this episode, it become a metaphor for choices in our lives — both choices real and imagined.  Lots of questions, and dangerous ones at that, are explored in this “H3ll0, Fr1end” podcast recap.
